Cybercrime in Nagpur - Cyber Blackmailer Couple Arrested in Pune for Extorting Money

A sensational case of cyber black mailing and cheating has come to light in the city.  In this case registered at Pratap Nagar police station, the police have arrested 3 including the main accused IT professional husband and wife from Pune. Arrested accused includes Shatrughan Singh Tangral and his wife Manjusha along with Rahul Satyendra Jha, all three are residents of Pune. It is alleged that he stole source code and client's data from the director of a company based in Nagpur in the last 5 years and blackmailed them with rigging of about 9 crores. Police have booked a total of 12 people under various sections of cybercrime including cheating and blackmailing threats etc. Probably this is the first case of cyber blackmailing in the city.

 Loot of 9 crores in 5 years

All the three accused were produced in the court on Friday from where they were sent to police custody for 4 days. The prosecution argued that, the accused are highly educated and are tricksters. If bail is granted, the evidence may be tampered. Accepting the argument, the court granted a 4 day PCR.

What is the case?

Vinodkumar Tambi, a resident of Civil Lines, is the Director of Excellon Software Private Limited which is situated in IT Park. Started in 1999 with the name of e-Caliber India, Tambi had appointed Shatrughan Singh on the post of Web Developer till 31st March 2020 he reached at the post of Vice President Product & Engineering . During this period, he was given of salary upto Rs 60 lakh and Rs 40 lakh shares and bonus shares from the company.

 Torn by blackmailing, Tambi saw the police as the last resort. He along with his lawyer Virat Mishra met the city police commissioner Dr. Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay and narrated his entire story. CP Dr. Upadhyay took the matter seriously and asked to register a case at Rana Pratap Nagar police station. The investigation was immediately handed over to EOW DCP Shweta Khedkar. The city police quickly collected evidence on the lines of the CBI and arrested Shatrughan Manjusha and Rahul from the area of Chaturshrungi Police Station in Pune and brought them to Nagpur.

 Excellon’s clients includes multinational companies. Being the Vice President, the work of the company was outsourced by Shatrughan to complete the work quickly. Shatrughan's wife Manjusha has worked in big companies like Persistent and TCS. During the job, both husband and wife together formed their own company named BizCloud and outsourced company were also joined, in which two UK IT professionals were also involved.  Together, Shatrughan and Manjusha together took the advantage of Excellon’s source code, software and data took illegal advantage of clients and accounts. Through BizCloud, they caused a loss of crores to Excellon.  Blackmailed Tambi, in the beginning of the year 2019, got suspicious when Shatrughan was asked about this, he along with Manjusha and Rahul started blackmailing him in the name of source code and client data.

Worried about the confidentiality of his client's data, Tambi silently tolerated the blackmailing of Shatrughan and Manjusha and also paid the ransom amount.

Just like every thief makes some or the other mistake, similarly Tambi also got one mistake of Shatrughan.

With the help of many software and other IT experts, all the black exploits of Shatrughan, Manjusha and their other accomplices were recovered, during which they would also pay the ransom amount, so that Shatrughan and Manjusha do not suspect that evidence is being collected against him

Effect of Graphitic Nanomaterials on Thermal, Mechanical and Morphological Properties of Polypropylene Nanocomposites by Satyendra Mishra* in Crimson Publishers: Peer Reviewed Material Science Journals 

Graphene oxide (GO): Polypropylene (PP) and reduced graphene oxide (RGO): PP nanocomposites were prepared by reinforce separately by adding 0.05wt.%, 0.1wt.%, 0.2wt.%, 0.5wt.%, 1.0wt.% and 2.0wt.% in the PP by solution blend method. GO, RGO and their PP composites were characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM). FTIR showed that GO consists of functional moieties, which are absent in RGO. XRD patterns illustrated exfoliation of graphite to GO with an increased interlayer spacing of 1.03nm, which decreased in RGO (interlayer spacing 0.37nm). FESEM images showed separate sheets of GO; and RGO with mostly wrapped surface. TGA results illustrated the improvement in thermal stability of GOPP and RGOPP nanocomposites with respect to virgin PP. The tensile strength of nanocomposites of GOPP and RGOPP was improved and recorded as 44 MPa and 42 MPa respectively over the virgin PP (28 MPa). Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) of GOPP and RGOPP nanocomposites also showed improvement in the storage modulus compared to neat PP. Morphological images indicated smoothing of the surface due to uniform dispersion and chain holding capacity of GO and RGO. The overall study also shows that GOPP registered better thermal and mechanical properties as compared to RGOPP.

Indian aviation industry will recover faster due to size of the market, says Airbus India president The civil aviation sector, one of the worst-affected industries, is gradually limping back to normalcy after the Centre allowed domestic flights to resume, industry experts said. Domestic flight operations resumed starting May 25, after having remained suspended for around two months in light of the coronavirus pandemic. Speaking during the webinar 'COVID- 19 Impact and Opportunities' for the civil aviation sector, organised by ASSOCHAM, Sanjay Kumar, Chief Strategy and Revenue Officer, Indigo, said that although the coronavirus pandemic had a huge impact on the industry, certain segments will help it recover faster. "I believe there is a silver lining in the cargo segment which is just a percentage lower than what it was in the pre-COVID times. The revenue from cargo has not been much affected despite the lockdown. Domestic travel is allowed on a 60 percent capacity,” he said. The takes double or sometimes triple that time. Synergistically Improved Physico-Mechanical Properties of Nanopolystyrene-Viton Rubber Blends by Satyendra Mishra* in Crimson Publishers: Peer Reviewed Material Science Journals 

This research work represents the synergistic effect of nanopolystyrene (nPS) and viton rubber (VR) for the improvement in physico-mechanical properties of nPS-VR blends. The nPS were synthesized by a micro-emulsion process and then 0.5 to 2.5wt.% of nPS were reinforced into VR on a two roll mill followed by compression moulding. Physico-mechanical (tensile strength, elongation at break and young’s modulus, swelling index) properties of nPS-VR blends were studied. The extent of nPS dispersion in the VR matrix and their surface morphology were observed by scanning electron microscopy, while the crystallinity and curing rate were studied by X-ray diffractometer and mooney viscometer, respectively. Optimum amount (2.5wt%) of nPS in VR blend showed an increment of 30% in tensile strength, 89% in young’s modulus and 6% in hardness, decrement of 29% in elongation at break and 36% in swelling index as compared to pristine VR. The improvement in physico-mechanical properties was due to crosslinks of nPS in VR by curing agent, the uniform dispersion and incorporating network of nPS in the VR blend.
