Willy’s Wonderland: Aftermath Investigations
(This is a fanfic i wrote and slapped on pastebin a while ago.)
----Start of Log----
This is Agent Martin Wilson of the Federal Beureau of Investigation, within this document is contained the Blueprints, Witness Accounts, as well as Testimony from the populace of Hayesville, Nevada regarding the Willy's Wonderland Investigation. How and why this has managed to stay under the radar when so many disappearances have been linked to this town is beyond me, but apparently after some digging, the upper echelons of both the community and the Police Station were working together to keep everything I've found under wraps, that was until the current owner of the restaurant as well as the town's deputy were both found dead in smoldering wreckage alongside what used to be the restaurant's location and the wrecked remains of the animatronic known as Siren Sara, the rest of the animatronics were found in a nearby dumpster and collected, along with the wrecked remains of Tito Turtle found further down the highway.
What remained of the Populace were more than happy to let us take what remained of the animatronics, after which I personally handed them off to an old friend of mine to be examined, a highly talented engineer who expressed great interest in the animatronics who's helped me on cases pertaining to other...shall we say...strange robots in the past. His conclusions were...baffling to say the least. He expressed that the Animatronics were built in a very strange way, they were undoubtedly incredibly advanced for their time, their creator despite his...untimely end, being an absolute genius when it came to mechanical engineering. Although he says that these were built far out of the normal spec for normal animatronics, with a unique factor given to Siren Sara. All of the Animatronics had incredibly durable frames built out of steel and industrial plastics as well as being well...as weaponized as robot animal mascots can be. He explained that this is most likely how they were able to kill in such brutal and gruesome ways, with Siren Sara in particular having a highly experimental and incredibly advanced flexible internal skeleton that allowed her to move in ways that are unpredictable as well as quick.
Anything that looked sharp, like claws, teeth, and even the Knight's sword were all actually real, just cleverly painted to not look so in order to hide what they were used for before the incident which led to them being "Haunted". He said however that despite how durable and incredibly advanced they were, if the rumors were to be true their "Diet" is what led to their downfall, as the constant supply of flesh, viscera, and blood would have led to the animatronics' internals slowly but surely degrading over time which is apparently how the last janitor managed to tear them apart so easily, if the rumors are to be believed. We could not find this Janitor however, nor the girl that apparently took off with them, if they do still live I imagine we aren't going to find them unless they want to be found, however priority should be given to at least making contact with them.
As it stands, this is single-handedly not only the most tragic but the longest-living string of kills in American history, as according to documents attained from the sheriff's station and Willy's Wonderland offices, this has gone back years and years with a still as yet confirmed number of disappearances linked to Willy's Wonderland, Hayesville was investigated afterwards and a number of unmarked graves are still being uncovered, even all these weeks later into the investigation. One good thing is to come of this however, even if the animatronics were "haunted" as the town's populace claims, their utter destruction and dismantling both at the hands of this janitor and at the hands of my mechanical engineer friend would surely have sent those damned souls to whatever deepest echelon of hell awaits them for all the misery and death they have wrought upon this world.
Unfortunately, this wasn't the first and most definitely won't be the last time animatronics of this nature are created, if the dissolution of Fazbear Entertainment and the incident at Taft Studios weren't enough alongside this incident we're still uncovering other locations that were involved with either some mad serial killer or some other entity altogether. It's as if there's something in the shadows that's infecting all of these beloved children's franchises. I don't have evidence for this but anyone who's worked in my department knows there have been way too many cases like this for it to just be a coincidence. I just hope that next time someone like whoever that brave bastard who was there that night is there to stop it.
This is Agent Martin Wilson, signing off.

Informal (and sorry, very long) review of ASSASSINS at Signature Theatre
ASSASSINS is famous for its provocative concept—telling the story of nine people who assassinated or attempted to assassinate US Presidents in a series of songs and vignettes—and it feels even more daring when staged only 15 minutes from the White House. But this musical isn’t a tasteless exercise in shock value for the sake of shock, nor is it a misguided attempt to portray assassins as ‘just misunderstood.’ These nine central figures are alternately pathetic, disturbing, funny, repulsive, charming, and eerie. Some are clearly delusional, others simply disillusioned. But together, they represent the dark side of the American Dream.
Americans are raised with a sense of exceptionalism, a belief that we deserve everything we want simply because we’re Americans. At some point, we realize that only a few people have the luck, money, skills, and connections to achieve their dreams. Most of us accept that it’s not really true that “anyone can become the President.” But some troubled people throughout the country’s history cling to a distorted corruption of this dream: anyone can kill a President.
That doesn’t mean we should agree with their horrifying choices. But it does let us examine what aspects of life in America make some people so desperate to be seen and remembered, by any means necessary. “Where’s my prize?” is the childish refrain these assassins sing over and over again as they wander through the grey purgatory they’ve been consigned to.
Historically, productions of ASSASSINS are set in a ghastly carnival where contestants are encouraged to ‘step right up’ and shoot a president! A wonderful community production at Dominion Stage created a masterpiece of vivid Americana in which an electric chair or hangman’s noose were reimagined as theme park rides. This production took the opposite route by setting the action in a grimy, industrialized, empty stage in which pieces of furniture like a bench, the steps to a gallows, or a sofa float on and off like ghosts. Through this strange empty world, assassins interact unbounded by time or space, cursed to constantly repeat their most famous actions and relive their frustrations. Garfield assassin Charles J. Guiteau instructs would-be Ford assassin Sara Jane Moore in the finer points of shooting. McKinley assassin Leon Czolgosz reprimands attempted Reagan assassin John Hinckley for carelessly breaking a bottle.
The only set piece that remains throughout the show is a weathered and ghostly replica of the Presidential box at Ford’s Theatre, plunked onto the stage as though fallen from the sky. Here, the brooding spectre of John Wilkes Booth sits and watches the show unfold—and yes, he recreates his famous jump from the box. He serves as a kind of ringleader to the assassins, weaving through crowds, advising that everyone try their hand at assassination as a cure for all of their ills—even chronic stomach pain. After all, he was the first to pull off the historic act. We even see him convincing Lee Harvey Oswald to change the course of history by bringing assassination into the age of television.
As Booth, there’s a whiff of the rock star about Vincent Kempski—fitting, because Booth was a celebrity and even heartthrob in his day even before shooting Abraham Lincoln. Most of the time, he seems at ease, in control, erudite—we might even be seduced by his words until he explodes in fits of rage and reminds us how twisted and monstrous his views really are. Kempski only occasionally unleashes the full power of his singing voice, and when he does, it feels like a punch in the gut.
One minor gripe with his performance, though not limited to Kempski’s portrayal alone: his Booth, like most I’ve seen, delivers his lines with a thick Southern drawl. Not only did that occasionally make it difficult to understand his words, I doubt the real John Wilkes Booth would have spoken with such a heavy accent. For one, although he supported the Confederacy, he was from Maryland. For another, his father was British. And most importantly, he was a professional stage actor before the era of microphones and would have been well-trained in diction. Still, his charisma was palpable throughout the show. The moment he set foot on stage, a chill ran down my spine: it really was like seeing a ghost.
Lawrence Redmond plays the disgruntled worker Leon Czolgozs with gravitas and stoic desperation. He is perhaps the most sympathetic—or pathetic—of the assassins, and he gives us a sense of the loss of human potential. As the crass Sam Byck, attempted assassin of Richard Nixon, Christopher Bloch is horribly funny, spouting commercial catchphrases and leaving professional advice to Leonard Bernstein on an audiotape recording.
Some of the most enjoyable scenes of the evening were those between the two attempted assassins of Gerald Ford, Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme (Rachel Zampelli) and Sara Jane Moore (Tracy Lynn Olivera). These are two deeply kooky women—a ditzy Manson groupie and a frumpy mom who’s been married five times and is endlessly losing items in her oversized bag. Together, they shoot at a bucket of fried chicken and bond over an unexpected shared acquaintance in Manson himself.
Zampelli may not be the childlike pixie we’d expect as Squeaky Fromme, but she totally inhabits the character of a lost soul, a flower child whose brains, if she ever had them, are long-since fried and warped. Her voice isn’t a high-pitched girlish squeak but has a distinctive creaky vocal fry to it that makes her sound utterly deranged. She’s so intense in her devotion to Manson that she ranks among the most unsettling characters on the stage. She also shares a strangely beautiful duet, “Unworthy of Your Love,” with sad sack John Hinckley (Evan Casey), a failed songwriter who’s obsessed with Jodie Foster.
As Sara Jane Moore, Olivera is absolutely hysterical in both senses of the word. A chatty, scatterbrained housewife, she seems to represent the mundane and trivial compared to Squeaky’s revolutionary furor— but she can also burst into tears or pull a gun on you at any second. Her utter lack of self-awareness and deadpan one-liners like “I couldn’t hit William Howard Taft if he was sitting on my lap” made her an audience favorite. Ms. Olivera has a special talent for making dialogue sound totally natural, as if everything she says is an ad-lib. I’ll jump at the chance to see any show she’s in because she makes every character completely her own.
But the performer who truly stole the show, and my other favorite local actor, is Bobby Smith, as the lifelong loser, Charles Guiteau. Guiteau is a comically tragic figure, a man who failed at everything he did and still retained the grandiose belief that his actions were divinely inspired. He was so consumed with his delusional belief that President Garfield would make him the Ambassador to France that he shot him. As Guiteau, Smith does a jaunty dance up and down the steps of the gallows before he is to be hanged, singing a refrain of “Look on the bright side!”
Guiteau is a man of extremes, euphoric and despondent at the drop of a hat. Smith, whose appeal as a performer often lies in his unassuming, everyman demeanor, gives amazing nuance to those abrupt transitions. We see real tears shining in his eyes beyond his too-wide smile, a tremble of the lip or shaking of the hands that betray his instability. He’s incredibly entertaining to watch every moment he’s onstage, yet you’re always simultaneously concerned for and creeped out by him. There’s something so obviously ‘not right’ with Guiteau. The last character to make me feel that way was Gollum.
Tying the whole story together is Sam Ludwig as the Balladeer, who serves as a cheery narrator for the show, delivering songs that span the gamut of American music styles. These are some of the most toe-tapping tunes in Sondheim’s catalog, contrasted sharply with the discordant numbers that run between them. Ludwig also inhabits a second role, which may come as a surprise (and isn’t listed in the program). He embodies the saccharine spirit of an American narrative that sees assassination attempts as isolated incidents rather than a symptom of a deeper illness. I occasionally found his piercing tenor voice a little grating to my ears, but it suited his character well—and I was sitting very close to the stage. An increasingly mangled rendition of ‘Hail To The Chief’ ties the musical numbers together.
This show runs almost two hours with no intermission. It’s so immersive that it gives you the curious sense of waking up from a vivid dream as you leave the theatre. You almost feel that the assassins linger behind you, reliving their crimes and failures in the abandoned theatre once you’ve gone home to bed.
Assassins plays through September 29. Don’t miss this show. You’ll find yourself laughing at the most unexpected lines and thinking about the most minor moments long after the curtain call.

Eggy drinks crossword clue
#Eggy drinks crossword clue Patch#
In graduate school, I studied and wrote about anti- MENDICANT (specifically, anti-fraternal) literature of the fourteenth century (it's true), so that word was an oddly nostalgic piece of cake ( 14D: Beggar). Of course I knew who President TAFT was, but it wasn't until after much crosswording that I realized that the family was an Ohio political dynasty. short for "RITardando"), MRE ( 68D: Field ration, for short), ALETA ( 104D: Prince Valiant's love) and the TAFTS ( 58D: Ohio political dynasty). Coincidentally, the non-bird TERNE crossed the birdy WREN ( 41D: Follower of Christopher or Carolina), which I also had some trouble getting. I know TERN as a shorebird common to North American crossword grids. Also, if you replace the "U" in "ENURE" with a "T" and then anagram it, you get the one word (besides RIN) I had *no* clue about today: TERNE. And the most common clue for RIN - RIN Tin Tin - is a dog. And here I thought someone had found an interesting new clue for that damned animated dog. Sadly, the stupid is a RIN, not a REN, and so, today, INURE was the correct way to go. I had ENURE for 66A: Get used (to), which is *a* correct answer to the clue (that exact clue has been used for ENURE before). I noticed an error when checking over my grid. Very undemanding grid (just seven theme answers) allows for a generally interesting and mostly smooth overall quality to the grid. a wooden block built into a masonry wall so that joinery structure can be nailed to it.An easyish, non- OGREISH puzzle ( 84D: Beastly), with hardly any sticking points.a wooden pin pushed or driven into a surface. The solution to the Eggy drinks crossword clue should be:īelow, you’ll find any key word(s) defined that may help you understand the clue or the answer better. MEET SARAH RECTOR, THE 11-YEAR-OLD WHO BECAME THE RICHEST BLACK GIRL IN AMERICA IN 1913 Have you heard of the 11yr old millionaire in 1911? Before Oklahoma was granted statehood, it was known as Indian Territory. In the 1820s and 1830s, five nations (Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, & Seminole) were forced to give up their land and move west of the Mississippi to what was designated as Indian Country. Fast forward to the end of the Civil War. Indian tribes were pressured to make the black people among them citizens of their nations. The Creek who were loyal to the Union had already done this with the black people who lived with them. The land was also an issue. Initially given 350 million acres, Indian Territory was reduced to about 20 million. By the time 1890 arrived the takeover of the remainder of the territory had already begun. Here is why this brief history lesson is important. The U.S. government started dividing up land to give to citizens of the different nations. The Creek were given about 160 acres. The Creek took an area and formed the town of Twine. In 1907, Oklahoma Territory and Indian Territory became Oklahoma. Sara Rector was born in Twine, in 1902 in Twine, now known as Taft Okla. When Sarah was four, she was one of the people given a small tract of land by the U.S. government. The land could not be used for much as it was rocky & not very good for farming. Her parents also had to pay a land tax that was an extreme hardship for them. Her parents tried to sell the land but a law preventing the sale of lands belonging to minors, prevented the sale. Born as the daughter of freedmen in 1902, #SarahRector rose from humble beginnings to reportedly become the wealthiest black girl in the nation at the age of 11. Rector and her family where African American members of the Muscogee Creek Nation who lived in a modest cabin in the predominantly black town of Taft, Oklahoma, which, at the time, was considered Indian Territory. Following the Civil War, Rector’s parents, who were formerly enslaved by Creek Tribe members, were entitled to land allotments under the Dawes Allotment Act of 1887. Many areas remain under storm signal as ‘Auring’ accelerates
#PHnews: Many areas remain under storm signal as ‘Auring’ accelerates
MANILA – Tropical Storm Auring slightly accelerated as it moved northwestward towards Eastern Visayas and Caraga area, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday.
In its 5 p.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said “Auring” is forecast to continue moving generally west-northwestward to northwestward and “may initially make landfall” over the Dinagat Islands-Eastern Samar-Leyte area Monday morning.
It is forecast to maintain its strength in the next 12 hours. However, PAGASA said the likelihood of weakening into tropical depression before it makes landfall is not yet ruled out.
After landfall, “Auring” is forecast to weaken considerably due to significant terrain interaction and the increasing wind shear, leading to deterioration into a remnant low within 48 hours, possibly sooner, it added.
Moving northwestward at 20 kilometers per hour (kph), “Auring” was estimated at 355 km East of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte as of 4 p.m. with a maximum sustained winds of 65 km per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
The storm will continue to bring moderate to heavy rains over Caraga, Eastern Visayas, Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, Camiguin, Catanduanes, Albay, and Sorsogon until Monday morning.
Zamboanga Peninsula, Mimaropa, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Quezon, and the rest of Bicol Region, Visayas, and Northern Mindanao will experience light to moderate with at times heavy rains.
In the next 24 hours, the combined effects of the surge of the northeast monsoon and “Auring” will bring gale-force winds in areas under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 and strong breeze to near-gale conditions with occasionally higher gusts over the areas where TCWS No. 1 is in effect.

American Acoustic - Punch Brothers, I’m With Her and Julian Lage at Taft Theatre, Cincinnati, Ohio, Aug. 12, 2017
“Good luck,” Chris Thile said.
These final words came at the end of a powerful encore on the Cincinnati stop of the American Acoustic Tour, in which nine musicians - the members of Punch Brothers and I’m With Her and guitarist Julian Lage - performed a dichotomous, two-song encore that began with a bursting-with-joy version of Three Dog Night’s “Mama Told Me Not to Come” and ended with the melancholic strains of the Brothers’ “This is the Song (Good Luck).”
It was the end of nearly three hours of music - delivered in sets of 70 and 100 minutes, respectively - in which the bands played together and alone and in various combinations and took the nearly full Taft Theater and its hard-listening audience on a tour through the power of music and the human voice. Not only acoustic, this show was unplugged - fiddles, guitars, mandolins, banjos, basses, et al. were not tethered by cords; they were channeled through center-stage mics - no amps allowed.
The result was breathtaking. And the audience sat silently rapt through it all, exploding into cheers only as songs ended and after particularly powerful solos. Concertgoers knew the nuances of these performances were important.
This was a low-frills presentation. A large, beige backdrop touted the tour’s title and the players played under minimal lighting and engaged in understated, but sincere, banter, which showed they were beyond happy to be where they were, with whom they were with and doing what they were doing.
The nine musicians spent the final 55 minutes of the show sharing the spotlight, sometimes playing in a nonet, other times in various combinations while colleagues sat in chairs on either side of the stage, taking in the show like the fans they were. A staggering run of performances, this segment featured a mini Nickel Creek reunion on “Destination;” the entire group playing Thile’s hilarious and timely “Comey’s Waltz;” a jaw-dropping rendition of the Beatles’s “Julia” with Thile, Aoife O'Donovan and Sarah Jarosz singing tender harmonies while fiddlers Sara Watkins and Gabe Witcher added plaintive violin melodies; and other traditional and original numbers that seemed designed to ease the tension after a day in which America was rocked by neo-Nazi terrorism in the South.
This set- and show-closing segment segued directly out of Punch Brothers’ 45-minute, second-half-opening performance in which the quintet gathered around the mics to share its quirky take on bluegrass music. Dressed in various versions of office attire - jackets, ties, vests, smart shoes - the Brothers oozed virtuosity whether they were reinterpreting Debussy’s “Passepied” or inserting jazzy riffs into the proceedings with original numbers such as “Julep.”
Although Thile is the clear ringmaster, he never dominates his Brothers and together they create a family-style performance that takes bluegrass to places its never been while - and this is the truly amazing part - never straying too far from its home base. This was a powerhouse demonstration that - because of the setting in which it occurred - was not the highlight of the evening.
That honor belongs to I’m With Her, the trio of Watkins, Jarosz and O'Donovan, which formed spontaneously in 2015 to open for the Punch Brothers.
Resplendent in floor-length black dresses, the Americana supergroup sang like sisters, Watkins’ willowy rasp, Jarosz’s smooth alto and O'Donovan’s confident whisper-to-wail blending to create on instrument that raised skin and neck hair early and often during their 40-minute showcase.
Watkins and O'Donovan are pregnant - with children and songs - and the band debuted new tracks to be included on a forthcoming album. The set that could have been longer included the title track from their new EP, Little Lies, and well-chosen covers like Jim Croce’s “Walkin’ Back to Georgia” and John Hiatt’s “Crossing Muddy Waters.” They all played guitar - with Watkins alternating on fiddle and Jarosz also playing mandolin and banjo - and switched off on lead vocals.
Brothers bassist Paul Kowert made I’m With Her a quartet, adding bubbly bottom end to the final song that lead to a short, 20-minute break before the headliners took over. This was rewarded with an exuberant standing ovation from the audience and gigantic smiles from the performers.
After his single-song, solo performance, Punch Brother and banjoist extraordinaire Noam Pikelny - looking like he’d just woken up with hair on end, a wrinkled jacket and tie askew - introduced I’m With Her as the best band going for his money and they lived up to the lofty billing.
Pikelny’s slot was the capper on a rotating 30-minute, opening sequence that began with Thile, Lage, O'Donovan and Jarosz kicking things off sweetly with the first of many awe-inspiring pieces that would follow and ran through Watkins leading a large grouping through her own “Young in All the Wrong Ways” and featured 29-year-old Lage - performing alone - building the foundation of a reputation that will one day place him along side the likes of Tommy Emmanuel and Leo Kottke on the Mount Rushmore of acoustic pickers.
Each of these musicians and bands could easily carry a show on their own. But they’re stronger together. And together, they carried some 2,500 music lovers to a high plane only rarely attained - a rare state of contentment where nothing outside the happenings at hand matters and where the problems of a bleak world disappear, if only temporarily.
