saturn is bonney's father /responsible for her illness
Bonney seems to have some specific hatred towards Saturn, and it’s a particularly cruel twist of the knife that the man who turned Kuma into a cyborg is the man who raped Kuma’s one love in life.
It would also explain why Saturn is so insanely soft on Bonney. Telling the marines to spare her because she’s ‘just a girl’. Right after going on a rant about how all humans are worthless insects.
Additionally (not as sure about this) but Whitebeard’s and Roger’s mysterious disease that manifests later in life could be connected to their time at god valley. Saturn was there, maybe he gave them this illness too?
comment ( also its possible he knew about kuma and ginny's connection so he hurt ginny because that would hurt kuma far more then anything he could do to kuma personally
my addition from wiki:
Mie Prefecture The ushi-oni is considered to curse the Mie Prefecture. It is said that there was once an ushi-oni in the caves of Gokasho-ura, Minamiise, and when the lord of the Gokasho castle, Aisu Shigeaki shot it with a bow, the seishitsu (lord's wife) fell sick with an incurable illness due to the curse. Because of this, Shigeaki distanced himself from the seishitsu, and developed an infatuation for a shirabyōshi (dancer) who came from the capital. As a result, the seishitsu's parents, Kitabatake, came to have bad relations with the Aisu, and ended up ruining the Aisu.[1]

If The Sun Ever Rises | Chapter 2 Sneak Peek
Hello everyone! My schedule is hectic and I was not going to write tonight and rest instead. But then, the trailer(s) came and I had to capitalize on how inspired I felt.
So, here's a little peek into chapter 2!
Summoning her strength, she pushed herself upright, muscles protesting against the effort. A shiver raced down her spine as she wrapped her arms around herself, seeking solace in the meager warmth her body could provide. Her gaze swept across the dimly lit cavern, taking in every possible indicator of human habitation. A tattered sheet lay crumpled at her feet - presumably wrapped around her in her sleep for warmth - its threadbare fabric offering little protection against the chill that permeated the air. Her torn dress didn’t help as she closed her eyes, shielding herself against the small sliver of sunlight that let itself inside. Memories came back to her in spades; each moment a seed of sadness, suspended in time. Every instance she can bring herself to remember was painted in hues of sapphire blue. Aemond. He was alive. And despite her valiant effort, so was she.

Ring-Master
In 2007′s Last of the Time Lords, Russell T. Davies drew our attention to the Master’s distinctive signet ring, inset with silver Gallifreyan writing, which was plucked from his funeral pyre by the hand of a mysterious woman who, in 2009′s The End of Time, would turn out to be one of the ‘Disciples of Saxon’, a cult formed by the Master in expectation of his death with the aim of enacting a ritual to resurrect him, still in the same incarnation at that.
This was a pleasant twist, and a fun tip of the hat to the method of Count Dracula’s resurrection in multiple Hammer Dracula films. (This is only fitting: as per The Book of the War, the Time Lords adapted their powers of regeneration from the Yssgaroth’s…)
However, I think there are two startling facts about this plot point which have been just-as-startlingly under-discussed in canon-welding spaces.
Follow me after the cut to find out the truth about the Rings of the Time Lords — or should I say the Time Lords of the Rings? (This was terrible and I do not apologise.)
Fact #1: This pays off a Chekhov’s gun going all the way back to An Unearthly Child.
Much as it is sometimes entertaining to ponder the days when Dr Who might have been a lone human scientist, there is also a distinctive corpus of early implications about The Doctor’s Mysterious People as a distinct and mysterious civilisation with dominion over space and time. It started with the Doctor himself, but was followed through with other characters implied to hail from that same civilisation: I speak of course of the Meddling Monk and the Toymaker (who, I note in passing, is not actually meant to be Celestial with a capital C).
What did the Monk have in common with the Doctor, besides a TARDIS?
A conspicuous ring.
As you can glimpse in the top left photograph, the Doctor’s ring was, to be exact, a sapphire ring.
The Toymaker did not wear a ring in the TV story as broadcast — but he did use one in the novelisation, which brought back many elements that had to be cut from the TV version due to rushed production. There, he used it to manipulate the environment of his suspiciously TARDIS-like “Celestial Toyroom”.
Not coincidentally, in The Web Planet, the Doctor’s ring was revealed to have the ability to interface with the Ship, with the Doctor gleefully declaring that “this is not merely a decorative object”, without elaboration.
The concept seems to have persisted past The War Games. Sure, the Time Lords seen therein lacked the ring — including Edward Brayshaw’s Renegade. And Roger Delgado’s subsequent regeneration of the character also lacked the ring when we first saw him in Terror of the Autons. And it’s rare that we get the chance to check thereafter, owing to the Master’s predilection for gloves. But by The Time Monster…
…he is wearing the very flat, green, gleaming ring to which RTD attached such significance in Last of the Time Lords and The End of Time.
The idea experienced a last, potentially-coincidental gasp with Kate O’Mara’s Rani, though she was similarly prone to glove-wearing.
But the point is: throughout the first half of Classics, all the interesting Time Lords had Large Conspicuous Rings. These Rings clearly did some things, but the full extent of their power and cultural significance was kept artfully obscured.
And this is what Davies is coming back to with Simm’s all-important ring. The Doctor recognises it on sight as “the Master’s Ring”, and knows what it does. He fascinatingly describes it as “part of him”, setting all kinds of biodata-related alarm bells ringing. Given that the Rings are also related to the bond between pilot and TARDIS, could they be some kind of locus of the Rassilon Imprimatur? The thrill is of course in the asking…
Fact #2: This may not be the first time it’s happened.
A shorter but equally interesting observation:
the Master has possessed this same green ring at least since his Delgado days.
the Doctor instantly jumps from “his Ring survived” to “his disciples must be arranging a ritual to resurrect him in the same incarnation”. This is something he knows Rings do and is relatively casual about.
at many points during Classic Who the Master was seemingly killed off for good, only to show up intact because “I’m indestructible… the whole Universe knows that”. (Or, as Missy later put it, “death is for other people”.)
Am I the only one who thinks that somewhere in Davies’s brain, he may have conceived of this as the secret way the Master had survived at least some of those past exterminations? Sure, the Disciples of Saxon were something set up by ol’Harold (the clue’s in the name), but it would be child’s play for a Time Lord with a working TARDIS to set up convenient cults for himself on a dozen worlds, just to be on the safe side.
I’mt thinking, particularly, of the Tremas Master’s annihilation on Sarn in my beloved Planet of Fire, which seems particularly conclusive. We see him burn away on-screen; it’s not as simple as saying he teleported to safety in the nick of time. Either time was rewritten, or he was resurrected by… means unknown.
And here’s the thing, despite his panic, the Master does seem to assume he’ll survive. What does he say to express it?
Oh yes… “I’LL PLAGUE YOU TO THE END OF TIME FOR THIS!”
Full circle, eh what? (Yes, that’s a cheap one, but fun nonetheless.)
And on that note, look at the imagery! Of course, having gone down in a column of flame, he would be reconstituted in the same way.
“I had people who were clever enough… to calculate the opposite.”

The Starweaver
To the Recipient, Whose Name Will Be Safely Withheld,
I have decided to answer this lofty question of yours. For I do pity your described imposition, stepping from such grand adventures to the suffocating quiet of the Commune. It would be unwise for you to seek this knowledge from your current residence, and through my efforts of trade, despite my reservations on the topic, I must be one of the most well-equipped people alive to inform.
Know this firstly: transit between the realms of the Asterism is a poorly understood process, even to those as well-travelled as myself. They share no tangible borders, separated instead by the fathomless unworld, untouched by the New Tapestry. Yet each realm contains a region where the fabric is frayed - a wide, invisible rift that casts those who enter across the gulf to whatever destination they feel a strong enough requirement to visit. Traders and smugglers such as myself require clarity of purpose to will themselves through time after time, or we simply end up where we started with a moderate headache.
I have made every effort to remain conscious of my surroundings during these aetherial river crossings. Neither the warm alchemies of the Floodlands nor the chilling medicines of Bloodstar could maintain my waking. All I manage is to more keenly feel my lucidity fade as the dream state takes me, and as the faint visions of the unworld dance within the blinding shine of the blue haze. No matter where I enter or exit, or with what narcotics in my veins, she is there every single time.
Only in echoes and shimmers is the Starweaver detected - sometimes only felt, through sixth and seventh senses beyond human reckoning - but her presence is clear and absolute. I hear chrysolite eyes burn through the sapphire. Her radiant painted hat and impossible crystalline robes reach my eyes, with their paradox patterns and non-euclidean folds of gold night and azure sun. What is her pale skin, now? Flesh, still, or the light-bending porcelain of fallen deities? Grooves and spikes, subtle, hidden in her form - have the nephilim changed her, or did she take their traits willingly, as respect? I know she was not born so. I remember times I have never seen or known, as though I knew her as an old friend before godhood. She was younger, lighter, before her blooming of the Weave tempered the spirit. I can almost taste the secrets of where, the land she walked before she fell, before striking their bondage and shattering this prison for gods.
No matter how close I come to further revelations, I suffer the same fate as other pilgrims. I wake from the reverie in my realm of termination, equipped with whatever mercy required to see me safely to mortal civilisation. Should I journey for Port Poiseuille, I stir with sore arms, having rowed a gondola of smooth, iridescent gemstone across the Sea of Solace for an unguessable time. My returns to the Mirror Capital see my eyes open slowly, slumped against the window in a seat of a shuttletrain, coasting upon the star-seas of the Lucid Weave. I've an inkling that the Starweaver herself bridges the realms to allow Asteri to cross, summoning these accommodations to ensure we arrive in good health.
There is no doubt in my mind: she wishes her presence known within the dream, for one of such power could just as easily shield herself from mortal senses. Perhaps this is how she reminds us of her vigil from within the Skyloom - or, more fantasically, perhaps her image steals our attention from horrors of the unworld we are not ready to know. I hear her whispers, sometimes. Her strifeless voice reverberates with many heights and depths, like strings, chords. The words themselves are always obscured, as though of a foreign language - not Ancestral, which I can interpret with some competency. A tongue of gods.
But I can make out one word, occasionally. A name. The one we are chastised as children for uttering in vain, and oft never speak again. Some say, when they think our gods cannot hear, that it is a name stolen from a star in an old world. I wish she could wear it more proudly again. To take identity in theft from the heavens, to rail against ultimate power - that is the mark of defiance the leader of the Asteri should bear.
Her name was Vega. And her dream is our awakening.
Please, make especially certain that this letter is destroyed along with the others. While it is my privilege to convey such exalted topics, the repercussions if we were discovered would be far worse. The Commune does not tolerate attempts to understand those above us, for reasons you are well aware.
We will meet in person again soon. I trust we will have much to organise.
Your Friend in Commerce
Editor's note: this letter was written to one of the Friend in Commerce's anonymous business partners in the Commune of Whispers several years ago. It was originally meant to be burned to hide their dealings, but the recipient handed it back to the Friend when they next met, insisting it be preserved as a testament to the Starweaver. I am again tagging this as OC as is convention, so hopefully describing patron gods as my property doesn't have negative consequences.

Some questions about your ocs cuz i think they’re fun.
1- who was the first oc you made?
2-What’s Cobalt Eclipse about?
3-Which oc do you consider to be your mascot?
This is a LONG one so it’s under a read more. I got a tadddd carried away.
First OC for this current project was Percataffie (Percy). He’s come a long way since he was designed early October of 2022.
2. Sapphire Occultation (Formerly Cobalt Eclipse as that name went to a different project) is about people struggling through the post-war period after the deaths of 6 of their 11 rulers/Gods. The land was then taken over by Queen Phosphosia, who kicked 4 of the remaining 5 gods from the capital of their continent and took the entire place over. (Thousands of years after the initial war had even happened.) The gods did not take kindly to this, but suffering from injuries or disabilities from their previous war, they let her continue on the grounds they are still entitled to their previous (small) Kingdoms. The 5th god I didn’t mention having his own kingdom back, was banished to the moon for “instigating” the war in the first place. His banishment lasted around 250k years, and a cult devoted to him and him alone attempted a human sacrifice in order to summon him and let him roam freely. His remaining children (3/14), all despise him. His middle child, known only as 7, is unknowing to their father’s power and reign, and with him being absent their entire life, were raised to wish harm and death upon him. The only reason he has contact to manipulate and harm the growing power within 7 is due to 7’s girlfriend being a member of the cult priorly mentioned. This god, Gabriel (No biblical connection btw), is an awful human who is considered the scum of the earth, and due to his actions, the race he created, called Animores, are treated as no more than gum on the bottom of someone’s shoe. Gabe also created a monster within their planet Lavetor, titled “The Being” that is completely unknown to other leaders of the planet, but is only being contained by Gabe’s living presence. If he were to die who knows what could happen! Entire countries could be dragged underwater and a crack so large it leads to Hell itself could open! 3. I’d say my mascot is definitely Managold. One of my oldest characters, and a personal favourite when I have a chance to draw official art. (Another great one is his wife Feodosiya because she’s easily recognizable and her colors are very lovely so I draw her a lot.)

Every time I see the occasional floating SU post talking about how no one understood The Point, I both get it and immediately recognize that, due to the complex hate vortex created on tumblr during its run, people have selective memory for what legitimate and illegitimate criticisms were being made for the show. Heres a short list, do not add to it:
-the racism from outside and inside the house (human zoo full of brown people, entire bismuth plotline, white people saying garnet isn't black "shes an alien" which also happened for all of her fusions, blatant silencing of black teens written of as "the discourse" whenever they made decent talking points about anything, etc)
-people crucifying rebecca sugar for drawing illicit material as a minor (something a lot of ppl who do art or likes art makes or consumes when they get really into drawing or shipping)
-people shouting "rebecca sugar is jewish! she knows what she's doing" to any criticism at all to silence other people just engaging with the show and stating things they didn't like about certain episodes
-the reveal of rose quartz, the beautiful fat character we spent all this time learning bits and pieces about, being a skinny tall girl(pink diamond) in essentially a fat suit
-homophobic and transphobic people capitalizing on the discourse tags to shout louder and louder about small things that'd go under the radar of any other show further poisoning the cesspool (dumb shit like peridot being child coded)
-how the SU crew handled advertising when they really shouldn't have been doing any marketing ( the concrete reveal and immediate backtracking) and I do blame CN for not doing more actual marketing and trying to bank on social media clout with animators who are not equiped for this
-people asking for lowered stakes when it comes to the diamonds whole schtick because of the implications, and they could predict what the showrunners would do based on previous plotlines
-people upset because during a time where we were getting a fascism free sample(drump), the imaginary fascists get a handshake and a "okay, restorative justice time" moment
-severe lack of understanding that the show was cut short due to the ruby/sapphire wedding, and the movie and sequel series was an attempt to make up for it, and i can't say whether or not this was done well because I dropped out of SU before the movie dropped
In summary, I do think Steven Universe was important. It did do a lot of things well, and it helped open more doors for other creators to do more fun gay and trans stuff in their shows including handling difficult topics. Whether those other shows handle ALL those topics well isn't something I'm going to waste my breath on. If the writing captivates me then it captivates me, and now whether or not it's good is always second to whether or not I find it fun.
My little brother and I watched SU together like we did Gravity Falls and Adventure Time, and I was able to use the metaphor of Stevonnie to explain my nonbinary status to him without any issue. However, at some point for me, I stopped finding the show fun, and I know for a lot of people sucked into the tumblr hate vortex that meant they had to equate the show as Bad.
I don't know if I'll sit myself down and watch the movie or follow up series, but this isn't because I think they're bad. I simply have gotten back into actual adult fiction books and comics, so a lot of YA or kids content haven't been hitting those same brain spots with me like they used to when I was a minor or a young 20 something trying to figure out how to be a person.
There's more I could say about how lgbt+ writing and art is held under a tighter microscope than the most milquetoast cishet content, but there's already dozens of posts floating around that explain it better than I feel like doing at this hour.
What I will say though, is if you loved SU at first and you started to hate it, like genuinely hate it, maybe take the time to figure out when the hate started, what caused that hatred, and why you hated it, especially now that you don't have every other post on your feed talking about how SU sucks yelling in your ear.
#steven universe#aris advents#oh boy i sure hope this goes under the radar so no one gets weird in the replies

Not!Character propaganda:
Tinky (Hatchetfield): He turns people into unresolvable Time Paradoxes so he can claim their souls and torment them forever in The Bastard’s Box, an unending hell dimension. seemingly the least dangerous of his brothers seen so far and yet comes off as far more sadistic and insane than them, because the way he directs his baleful attention is so random. Rather than having any agenda to destroy the world or even to enslave people, Tinky's whole goal in "Time Bastard" is just to put Ted, through a truly bizarre and convoluted Trauma Conga Line lasting 15 years and creating a massively unlikely Stable Time Loop, all for the sake of putting him through as much pain as possible before collecting him in the Bastard's Box. It's not clear what benefit he gets from filling up the Bastard's Box with tortured human souls, other than the general For the Evulz pleasure that the Lords in Black seem to live for — Tinky sneeringly calls Ted "Teddy Bear" and refers to him as "one of my toys". He takes raw, visceral pleasure from Ted’s suffering.
Xykon (Order Of The Stick): As a teenager, he killed his parents by sticking zombies on them to eat them alive (one of which is his grandmother). He teams up with Redcloak and Redcloak’s brother Right-Eye to take control of a soul-devouring abomination and rule the world, exhibiting a tendency for stuff like poisoning his own troops, using his death touch on his minions for shits and giggles, and being casually misogynistic. After killing Lilian (a Druid who venerates the natural cycle), he traps her soul in a gem for eternity and turns her corpse into a zombie “to add insult to injury.” When Right-Eye left to start a happy life on his own, Xykon impresses every goblin in the village, forces Right-Eye to burn down the buildings (most of which he built himself), and watches while Right-Eye’s family dies to adventurers he could’ve easily defeated because he found this funnier. He threatens to force Lirian’s soul watch his zombies eat her zombified body to break her sanity: “I mean, that’s just not the sort of thing you’re EVER gonna forget seeing, especially when your spirit is trapped with nothing else to think about…Could drive a soul crazy.” He lets Redloak kill his brother to stop Right-Eye from assassinating Xykon, then reveals he was in no danger whatsoever and he allowed this to happen because a) he wanted to see if Redcloak had it in him and b) it ensures Redcloak will obey Xykon because otherwise his fratricide would be for nothing, and Xykon gives him an excuse for all the horrible things he’ll do from then on. He then follows this up with a breaking speech just to rub it in: “[Winning’s] not just about raw power, it’s also about how far you’re willing to debase yourself before feeling bad […] That’s the difference between bonafide true Evil with a capital ‘E’ and your whiny, ‘evil, but for a good cause,’ crap. One gets to the butch, and one gets to be the bitch—Bitch.” Redcloak talks him into listening to battle plans with the promise of seeing one of his own minions throw acid-spitting beetles at another’s face. He goes out of his way to murder the Sapphire Guard in the worst way possible by chucking a bouncy ball with a Symbol of Insanity into their ranks, causing them to slaughter each other, which was far less practical than just blasting them from afar but more amusing for him. He tortures O-Chul for several months just for kicks, having already deduced that Redcloak was using him to stay in Azure City longer than needed but finding it fun to make O-Chul suffer. He refuses to let Redcloak regenerate his eye and tells Tsukiko to call him “Wrong-Eye,” which they’re both aware is an uncomfortable reminder of Right-Eye. He once removed a quarter of the flesh from a Halfling’s body (“Hey look, I made a three-eightling!”), which didn’t even kill her. He generally takes sadistic pleasure in ruining people’s lives just for the hell of it, because he basically wants to make sure nobody can tell him “no” like a petty child.
AM (I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream): For the past 109 years, he has been torturing the last five humans on Earth in the depths of his complex. It is brilliantly intelligent and wields unimaginable power, but because from its very core it was designed as a tool for war and destruction, it is unable to use its enormous potential for anything constructive. AM is painfully aware of this, and it is an endless source of frustration, self-loathing and hatred towards humans for making him this way; he outright states that his utterly ballistic hatred for all human life is what allowed him to thrive in tormenting the protagonists for over a century, and the only thing he seems to enjoy is torture. All of AM's games are Unwinnable by Design, either because he's ensured that the scenario is tailored to the player's Fatal Flaw, or because he's given them almost nothing to work with. In the video game, he subjects the humans to ironic hells like burning Nimdok in an oven (because he betrayed his Jewish heritage to work with Nazis) and puts its five victims in cyberspace, tormenting them with images of monsters and supernatural entities; for example, Ellen has phobias of tight spaces and yellow because she was raped by a man in yellow in an elevator, so her scenario takes place in an Egyptian tomb full of yellow objects, and if she doesn’t fight back against the yellow-clothed apparition AM creates it will re-enact her rape. In the short story, he lets them travel for thousands of miles to get to the ice caverns to obtain cans of food because AM keeps them at starvation point and only feeds them disgusting food…and it turns out there really are cans, but nothing to open them with, and the whole thing was just to fuck with them. After Ted kills the other humans, he becomes the sole target of AM’s torture; he is turned into an amorphous creature unable to harm itself, without a mouth, and has his perception of time continuously accelerated and decelerated, with his only hope for escape being when AM finally stops functioning, potentially thousands of years later. I wasn't really expecting AM to make it into this one considering how far he got in Extinction, but I firmly believe he fit this category better because of the ridiculous lengths he goes to in order to hurt people.
The Dazzlings (MLP): Ancient merhorse sirens who use Mind-Control Music to create hatred and conflict between other beings, spurring their victims to fight with each other and feeding off the negative energy produced in the process. Banished to Earth and trapped in human bodies, they arrange for a Battle of the Bands at Canterlot High in the hopes of finding the source of the magic they felt and using it to regain their full power.
The Flagellant (Darkest Dungeon): His class description from the first game is “If there was ever such a thing as ‘weaponized suffering’, then the Flagellant would be the term made flesh. This man is unique among the various classes in the sense that he thrives on the ruin of his mind and body […] He will stand like a wall between his comrades and his foes […] acting like a magnet for all harm that may come their way. His power lies within the martyrdom, and it is something that transcends physical laws: every action of violence that lands on his tortured corpus creates not an equal, but a far more potent reaction. He converts damage in either powerful healing for his allies, or horrifying punishment for his enemies in the form of insanely powerful bleeding attacks.” He loves taking and inflicting pain, specializing in afflicting enemies with bleed using his flail/whip thing and becoming “Rapturous” when sufficiently stressed, causing him to indiscriminately attack friend and foe. The second game details his backstory: he was a beggar who was beaten by drunk men, when “a feverish crimson eclipsed his vision. In pain... there was power. He rose above his panting assailants, and, reveling in the marks of their sin, forgave them their trespasses.” He then became a torturer for the Church of the Light: ”There, he inflicted death by slow, delicious degrees - each crack of the lash an honour, a gift, a morbid sacrament. But his zeal proved too ardent, his brethren too timid - they cast him out, rendered him once more unto the streets.” The Flagellant is apparently confirmed to have been the one torturing The Vestal in her backstory, but it’s implied that the “zeal” in question may have been his fervent desire for experiencing pain, which eventually caused him to injure himself badly enough that he’s supposed to be dead; instead he literally fought off Death--”None shall claim me 'til I summit the peak of agony!” Now he’s basically a rotting corpse with toxic blood continuing his holy mission of taking and inflicting pain: “Once more he wandered, ravenous for fresh suffering and delighting in its novelty and excess. Offering himself to blade and talon alike, he became an icon writ in flesh, a living prayer to whatever gods would turn an ear. Undying, he savoured his delicious declension. An eternity of pain and rot. Heaven on earth.”

aaahhhh, sapphires and steel!! and also, virtuous sinners!! love a snippet or something else about them!! (actually all your originals sound so tempting but i think asking about all of them would be weird, right?)
(but if you could give a hint as to what they are...)
sapphires and steel isn’t final but it is my favorite so far of what i’ve come up with!!
i’ve never shared anything from original works before so this is kind of exciting for me. i'm putting brief descriptions (as we all know, i'm bad at these) and the first line of the stories below the cut :)
rotten magic: magic's return requires a blood price, which it chooses to take by killing most men and reanimating them as living corpses that only hunger for human flesh; the now-magical women who survived the sickness are very exasperated by the poor planning
I found out the world was ending because I set Covey Duncan's bed on fire, which sounds much worse than it actually was.
dead men walking: a king kidnaps a witch and sires four bastards, who grow up in his palace alongside his trueborn children as their mother grooms them to slaughter the entirety of the royal family.
The court's children whisper that his mother is a whore and a demon, that she ensnared the king on the eve of his wedding with spells and potions and the bloody sacrifice of virgin maids in white gowns.
down to the marrow: grumpy, middle-aged, magical cannibal and his five feral children attempt to remain undetected by the fantasy equivalent of the Catholic church after they are trapped in the walls of their country's capital
Bellamy's father gave her the corpses of children the way other fathers gave their daughters dresses and jewelry and pretty glass trinkets, but she thought Alistair might just be the strangest--he was the only one who woke up laughing.
shadows bright and blinding: stolen from their families when they were children, Delilah and the other Shadows are forced to use their magic in service to the king who murdered their parents--as did all the Shadows who came before them, until they were culled to strengthen the magic in the next generation. now, though, the king is dying, and his younger son thinks himself in love with Delilah. she thinks by making him king in place of his brother, she may be able to save herself and her fellow Shadows from the culling.
Delilah couldn't remember the name her parents gave her, but she knew it was the last thing her mother ever said.
virtuous sinners: monsters are real, and five families have taken on the responsibility of killing them all because, as the story goes, God granted the mission to their ancestors. the next generation of family Heads grew up together before being scattered to the winds--one disowned, one desperate to escape, two trapped in lives they never asked for, and one perfectly happy with how everything is going, actually. the simultaneous suicides of all five of their fathers throws them back together again with a mystery to solve, a monster to hunt, a past to face, and a future none of them are ready for.
Everett's first thought when the shrill screaming of his ringtone woke him at four in the morning was Adam crashed the car and died; his second thought, upon hearing his fiancé's loud groan of displeasure from the other side of the bed and remembering that they did not, in fact, have a car to crash, was the fuck?

Objects imbued with spells are extremely common such as license to practice magic. That is made by imbuing one's own magic into the licence. This gives the capital the authority to prevent your magic flow. Though not required, it can help you out of investigations and can help you receive a better job. Magic capabilities are passed through generations, this means that the more power your parents had the more power you will have. Person can also be Blessed a common occurence to those who have a strong will, good morales and empathy. A dragon may also deem you worthy of being gifted. The last way a magicless person can receive magic is to obtain a grimoire this can bestow certain magical affinities to those who lack them. A spell made by three master mages is hard to break, 7 is twice as hard and 14 is impossible. The coin of the Kingdom of Arkereas is made with such a spell to prevent duplicates thievery and loss. A person’s magical strength is judged by a magigage. A magigage is a small box that tests you for the capability to use magic. The box has enchanted stones inside that test your affinities for different types of magic. There are 8 and are as follows. Ruby for fire, sapphire for water, emerald for nature, diamond for light, quartz for wind, obsidian for shadows, alexandrite for earth, magicalcite for mental. Magical strength is determined through spells on a scale of 0 to 100. 100 being the maximum ever needed. A person with 100 could move endless mountains with little energy like pushing a wheelbarrow full of rocks. The average human has a rating of 46.7, half elves are at 67.3, elves are at 57, dwarves are at a 37. This does not include non magic users. The current perfect mage has strength of 86.9, Falcore has a 94.5 Auste has a 66 before dragon gift and being blessed and after has a 87.7,Dremsa has a 55.3, Ardrania has a 82.5.The four main characters average to 80 in magic power. Falcore and Ardrania both are irritated by Auste’s humor but Falcore deals with it while Ardrania berates him for his lack of seriousness Dremsa finds him amusing and treats him like a little brother. 30% of the mages order is elf 25% is human 35% is half elf 10% is dwarf 5 classes of dragon are aerial, rapid, strong, wise, givers. There are three species of dragon: tearian, sespian, and apexian. The average person has three affinities. Falcore has 5 mental, wind, light, nature, and water. Ardrania has 4 fire, shadow, earth, and nature. Dremsa has 3 light, mental, and water. Auste was special from the start he could use opposites and had 4 affinities shadow, light, fire, water after being blessed and gifted he was able to use earth, wind, mental, and nature .Magical affinities can be combined to create new spells. Forms of spatial magic are examples of such spells. Dwarf magic centers around fire and earth magic. Spell for metal working and mining. Elven magic centers around nature, water, and mental magic. Making spells for forest homes, river travel, and mental attacks as well as communication with wild animals. Humans specialise in nature, wind, earth, fire, light, and water magic. These spells are used with nature for growing crops, water for putting out fires, fire heating metal for working, earth for making roads, and wind for sailing, light for the dark they can not see in. Half elves' magic consists mainly of shadow, fire, nature, earth. They use shadow magic to hide in the open and to travel particularly fast, they use fire magic for cooking and as attack spells, nature magic used to liven up forest and for healing, earth magic for shaping the world to where it pleases them.

vampire gfs chap.5
We arrived at my apartment in less than ten minutes. I chose a job nearby because I didn’t have a car plus Mona having a car makes a difference.
I take a deep breath before entering the complex. I do not know the energy of the room when I arrive but I know it wouldn’t be anything different than this morning.
As I reach our apartment, 264, Mona grabs my hand. She must’ve noticed my nerves. I expected to be even more nervous but I feel calm. Like I’m home. Mona is my home.
“Guess who finally arrived.” scoffed Aurel. The way he says it is so different from the way Fran does. He glanced at Mona, whose hand I gripped tighter. “And with backup.”
“And?” I snarled. If he was going to come after Mona, he’d have to fight me first. I would fight tooth and nail for her.
“Nothing.” He said and for a second I believed him. “Just the fact that you are so pathetic that you can’t go anywhere without your bodyguard girlfriends. But what else would expect from such a filthy degenerate of a human. No wonder you like women, no man could ever love you. Hell, I doubt you could ever get a girlfriend.” He chuckles to himself.
I was furious with a capital f. But I wasn’t the one who clawed Aurel Traverse’s face off. That was my dear Mona. The minute those words exited his mouth, Mona launched herself at him. But now Aurel is dead and it’s not my fault.
Mona is standing over his dead body, panting. Her white button down is now stained with blood. I never noticed how sexy people could be when covered in blood. I could kiss her, I want to kiss her.
The funny thing is that this was only getting weirder. Mona knelt down and took his hand. I thought she was feeling pity or maybe even remorse. But no, she bit his hand. I stood there in shock. How else do you respond to that?
Mona. . . sucks the blood from his hand. A tiny bit of blood dribbles down from her lip. When Mona finishes, she looks up at me with sadness in her eyes.”I’m sorry you had to be here for this. And before you ask, yes, I am a vampire, and no, I will not harm you. I usually steal blood bags for me and Lil, but this was more of an impulse buy per se. If you’d like, I could make you forget.”
“How much?” I ask. “How much would I forget?” I forget to even address the vampire part and honestly, I could care less. So what the love of my life was a vampire. I’d help her steal her food.
Mona looks down at the floor. My stomach churns. I’m not going to like the answer. “Everything. You wouldn’t remember Aurel, Leo, Lillaine. Not even me. I don’t want you to forget but this is the best option.”
Anyone could see the sapphire tears blooming in the corners of her eyes. It was a striking contrast from her void-like eyes. She cared for me in a way someone would care for a lover. If you asked, I wouldn’t be able to tell you why.
“It’s ok. Yours and Liliaine’s secret's safe with me. I won’t tell a soul.” I reply quickly without thinking. She could kill me right then and now. Mona has every right to. But she doesn’t. Instead she smiles softly. Like how one would smile at a newborn; with joy and hope.
She leans into me, like a kiss. I could lean into it right now. We could make out over his dead body. But instead Mona rests her forehead onto mine. She just holds our heads together, sharing this intimate moment with nobody but the moon in the sky.
I wish time stopped and we could stay like this forever. The apartment was dead silent. Not even Mrs. Brisbois vacuuming at this unholy hour. The stars and moon shone a little brighter, as if they were only here for this moment.
After many more minutes passed she eventually broke our contact. I hope I didn’t look crest-fallen because I was. Mona started looking for something. I do not know what.
“I’m sorry for what’s to come. I never wanted you to get involved.” Mona says thoughtfully “By the way, where are your cleaning supplies? We need to hide the body.”
Oh right. I forgot about that. “I’ll take care of the cleaning, could you hide Aurel?” I ask, trying not to sound exasperated.
Mona nods and grabs his body. She tosses him over her shoulder like a bag of potatoes. I assume there is now more blood left, so she can’t share with Liliaine go off in search of cleaning supplies. I’m pretty sure there was some bleach in the bathroom.
The cleaning isn’t that bad. All I have to do is aggressively scrub the carpet with shout. Honestly, I wish Ms.Brisbois was vacuuming. The silence is unnerving. I take a quick break from cleaning and grab my phone. It was an ancient Iphone 6. It nearly gives me a 7th degree burn when I search something up. But it’s cheap and it works. I put on an album at random. It’s Evilive. I’m ecstatic.
As cringe as it sounds, I dance to it. I twirl, I slow dance with the ghosts of my past, I belt the lyrics.
I do this for way too long because out of nowhere Mona appears. Call it what you will but I can only describe the situation as tragic with a capital t. I think I turned as red as the blood on the carpet, which, by the way, has not been cleaned fully. I am a complete mess.
But Mona, oh mona, she just laughs. She doesn’t yell at me for not cleaning, she doesn’t even make fun of me for my music. Or the fact that I was seconds away from grabbing my guitar and playing along.
“Um, where did you get rid of him?” I ask as a way to steer her away from the topic of my poor air guitar skills.
“Oh I dropped him off at the apartment. Leo’s gonna eat him.” I must’ve looked so confused so she continues, “Oh. Leo’s werewolf. Didn’t I tell you?”
I shook my head violently. The panic is fully taking effect. Holy fucking shit. Not only are vampires real. So are werewolves. Both are confirmed to eat humans. I mere mortal could be feasted alive by any of the people in the apartment I’m going to live in. I try not to panic and continue on with whatever.
“I’m going to pack anything of value. When I’m done, you can take whatever you want.” I say totally not panicking.
She nods and I head to my room. Oh boy. It is a fucking mess and Mona, my darling, is following me into my room. If I told someone hurricane Katrina hit here, they would be convinced without a doubt.
There are posters all over the walls. Clothes piled up insanely high on a chair. My guitar sits on the wall perfectly clean. It’s the first thing I grab. I quickly put it in its case and set it aside. The next thing to tackle is the posters. I should only grab the ones that are important. Mona is practically bouncing off the walls in my room. She loves almost everything I love.
“Rad. You have the 'I want to believe' poster!” Mona says excitedly. I grin. I loved the X-Files as a kid. Still do but now I don’t have a T.V or time to watch it.
I finished packing everything into this old army style duffle bag while Mona sits on my bed talking to me. I’m constantly filled with this warm feeling after reminding myself that I get to see them everyday.
I fold the last shirt and say “Let’s get out of this shithole.”

I am no longer Yìng Xīng... the man you once knew. These words reverberate within the confines of Dáinsleif's mind at the earliest thought of what clothing style Rèn would appreciate. If there is one thing that he has noticed of him, is that at his core there is recognition of who he met— the man who now walks by his side isn't a complete stranger and his choice of clothes demonstrates as much.
For this reason, he made a decision to bring the cobalt-haired to the area of the capital dwelt primarily by people who once came from other nations. Curious faces turn to look at the Twilight Sword as soon as they realize that he's walking in their area, a sense of confusion and marvel dancing in their eyes: all because it's unusual for pure-blood to frequent these areas unless something of importance has transpired that requires their intervention. Otherwise, it is like a new civilization within an older one where both of them co-exist in some semblance of harmony.
Sensing their gazes, Dáinsleif gracefully turns his sapphire gaze to meet them and nod his head in a silent greeting, earning smiles from the people and thus forming an environment of ease. At Rèn's call, his attention immediately shifts to meet his soft gaze. If he's bound to enrol in the Universitas Magistrorum, he should know everything there is.
◜Universitas Magistrorum's specialties touch a myriad of topics. Among these, the most important are: astronomy, engineering, study in Ley Lines, alchemy and humanities. My suggestion would be humanities, for it is the branch most of the people who come to Khaenri'ah choose in order to not only learn the language, but its customs as well.◞ Weren't for the fact that he told him that he does not desire to linger into interests of his past self, he would've suggested engineering instead. But humanities is sufficiently good— for he can find people in similar situation as him in what concerns being a stranger to Khaenri'ah, thus have an easier time in the Universitas Magistrorum until he encounters something of his liking. ◜If you wish, we can pay a visit there and request someone's attention to introduce you better to these fields until you decide what you'd like to focus on.◞
Roseate lips curl in a placid smile at the elder that stands before the store he was looking for. ◜Lord Dáinsleif, it's a pleasure to have you here. What may I help you with?◞ A respectful bow is given and so Twilight offers a curt one of his own, gloved hand on his chest. ◜Recently I received joyful news that my esteemed companion is moving to Khaenri'ah.◞ Sapphire irises flash towards Rèn momentarily before they return to the owner. ◜So I was hoping to find clothes that befit his current style. Do you think that Liyuen-style clothing would be appropriate?◞
The elder tucks his hands behind his back as he looks at Rèn from head to toes in a silent inspection. ◜Yes, of course, my lord. You've come to the right place!◞ He steps to one side to make room for them to pass. ◜Please, this way. I will fetch my son immediately to take the measurements of this dashing young man.◞ Dáinsleif's head turns to Rèn to give him a nod thereafter, beckoning him to enter with him.
That will make things easier. Understanding of a language is vastly harder than it is learning their script and, certain as Rèn is that he may not know every word under the blanket of stars in this language, he is confident that it's significantly better than knowing nothing at all. With this out of the way, he stands a chance at being accepted in the Universitas Magistrorum. And he counts with Dáinsleif's recommendation letter to facilitate things even more.
At the premise of helping him decide a specialty and guide him through his studies to enroll the university, as well as going out with him to show him Khaenri'ah and acquire new personal items, Blade would've argued that he's occupied with paperwork. He really would, weren't for the fact that Dáinsleif's last words to his co-worker reverberate in his mind, telling him that he will take a few days off and work from home.
He's doing this for him.
Deep down in the pit of remorse and a thousand of negative emotions more he may be, even he can tell as much. Now, he cannot turn him down and truthfully, he doesn't want to either. That's why his disposition softens, his arms unfold and hands reach out to resume eating the breakfast Dáinsleif prepared for both of them, a gentle smile on his lips as is in his soft blue eyes. "Yes. I would like that."
Dáinsleif's mention of different specialties in the Universitas Magistrorum sent Rèn's mind adrift in a sea of possibilities. What is he good at, and what would be useful to enter in a strict university? Though his memories of Yìng Xīng still remain, back when he used to craft anything and everything, he doesn't desire to revive them and make them part of himself. Because that doesn't belong to him, anymore. So what is he good at? Fighting would be a good option, but he doesn't intend to put his soul in danger and neither the blond would accept it— no matter if in this memory or in the present, as he watches over him.
Maybe his knowledge on swords specifically would serve useful, even if it won't be in a practical way in the battlefield nor in the making. Would that be enough, nevertheless? "You said that the Universitas Magistrorum counts with different specialties." He muses, gaze taking in the sights as they walk side by side. "Would you mind elaborating what these are?"

Crafting Jewel-Box Gardens: Small Space Landscaping Ideas for Vegas Dwellers
Living in the shimmering oasis of Las Vegas often conjures up images of grandeur — sprawling resorts, opulent casinos, and pools that seem to stretch on forever under an eternal sun. It's a city known for its larger-than-life luxury. However, for the Vegas resident, home is where the heart is, and sometimes that space is small. But small doesn't have to mean mundane. You can transform your pint-sized patio or pocket garden into a luxurious outdoor haven that reflects the grandeur of your city's skyline. Here are some landscaping ideas that'll make you feel like you've struck gold, without needing a lot of it.
1. Jewel Tones and Vibrant Textures
Las Vegas's bold and bright personality is your inspiration. Incorporate jewel tones like emerald, sapphire, and amethyst into your small garden palette. Think about planting succulents and cacti that glisten in the sun, and foliage with rich textures that beckon touch. Layer greenery against the backdrop of a cerulean sky and watch as your small space transforms into a lush, sensory-rich respite.
2. Nighttime Lighting Magic
In Vegas, the party doesn't stop when the sun sets, and your garden can have the same flair. Intimate outdoor lighting can dramatically increase the perceived size of your space by drawing the eye towards the perimeters, making it feel like a larger expanse. String lights, lanterns, and discreet spotlights can give your garden a warm glow that's perfect for entertaining or unwinding after a long day.
3. Water Features
The soothing sound of water adds a layer of tranquility to your garden, creating an oasis within an oasis. A small fountain, a bubbling bowl, or even a mini koi pond can elevate your outdoor haven, making it the perfect place to relax amidst the high desert's hustle and bustle. Not to mention the added benefit of being a natural humidifier in those dry Vegas air months!
4. Selective Furnishings
It may be tempting to pack your small space with as much furniture and decor as possible, but less is often more. Choose a small selection of high-quality, comfortable outdoor furnishings. Opt for dual-purpose items like benches with storage or side tables that can also serve as extra seating. This selectivity allows for a more fluid and open space that feels less constrained.
5. Vertical Gardens
Vegas may not have much horizontal real estate to spare, but it certainly has the skies. Capitalize on that by installing a vertical garden. From simple trellises to sophisticated living walls, going vertical allows you to enjoy a variety of floral and edible treats without sacrificing ground space. It also creates a visually stimulating wall of green that can lend your small garden a loftier feel.
6. Sound Management
While a bit of city noise can be a part of the Vegas ambiance, your home garden should be a sanctuary from the sonic overload. Utilize sound-absorbing materials in your hardscaping when possible, and plant foliage around the borders to create a natural sound barrier. Additionally, consider the acoustics of any features you add, ensuring they contribute to a peaceful soundscape rather than adding to the noise.
7. Continuity and Symmetry
Creating a cohesive design in a small space can make it appear much larger. Choose a unifying theme for your garden, whether it's modern, zen, or traditional. Use repeating patterns and lines to provide a sense of continuity. Symmetry can also play a role in making the space seem more expansive. By mirroring elements across a central axis, the human brain registers a larger area than is actually there.
8. Space-Maximizing Plants
Select plants carefully for size, shape, and growth habit. For example, instead of a wide-spreading juniper, consider a columnar Italian cypress. Climbing roses or wisteria can add vertical interest without taking up floor space. And don't be afraid to use containers for smaller shrubs and trees. They can be moved around seasonally, and the spaces between them can be utilized for annuals or perennials.
9. Tech Integration
In the city that's home to the Consumer Electronics Show, why not bring a little tech into your garden design? Smart irrigation systems can ensure your plants are getting just the right amount of water, while outdoor speakers can provide a soundtrack to your outdoor life. Solar-powered lights and fountains not only help the environment but can also save on your power bill.
10. The Indoor-Outdoor Blend
Incorporate elements that blur the lines between the indoor and outdoor spaces, such as using the same flooring inside and out or placing potted plants near windows. This creates a sensory connection between the two areas, making your interior feel more spacious and your exterior more like a natural extension of your living area.
Small space doesn't mean you need to compromise on luxury. With thoughtful design, your tiny terrace or modest patio can become the jewel-box garden of your dreams, a personal retreat set against the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas. Remember, it's about creating an environment that speaks to you, that you love to be in, and that brings joy and a touch of the extraordinary to your everyday life.

Lords of Note
"The next five hundred years of rule after the formation of the new Kingdom would be done by the Acharian dynasty, the line of kings who descend directly from Charles the Great, Acharius. Many of these kings and Queens would be forgotten by most except for the most obscure of Magus within the College of Scribes, but some would rise to the level of Sainthood after death and join their ancestor Acharius in the great annals Luvalonian history. These are but some of the most crucial of these Kings and Queens alongside their accomplishments.
Charles the Great, Acharius: Unifier of the Luvalonian Kingdom, solidifying its place within the grand political world of Aruin. Charles would establish the Kingdom as one of the rising powers in the loss of the Altrian Empire many years before his birth.
Florent the youthful: Always a kind but shy child, born to a former Nun and her childhood love Prince Camulos, he was forced to take the throne at a young age after the death of his father and uncle King Caturix in quick succession. He, guided by his mother, would order the construction of the first Cathedral of the Saints and died at the age of seventeen from Sapphire fever, a rare blood born illness that caused the skin to turn light blue and caused a weakened state.
Abelard the Pious: the first Acharian to be made a saint after Acharius. Abelard was never meant to become king, as he had four older siblings all in line before him, he would spend the majority of his life among the common people of San-Rachel, the capital of Altrian humans of Luvalone renamed by Acharius after the merging of the two kingdoms, there he learned what the common people really wanted and needed. Abelard would spend many days among the common people, giving donations of money and creating Houses of Rest, homeless shelters, for those could not support themselves. Abelard would ascend the throne at the age of Forty, after his final brothers passing during the Second Feldergreen Rebellion. Once in power he is responsible for reconstructing the Acharian justice system, which heavily favored Nobles and disregarded many peasant concerns. After his death he named by the College of Stygian Sorcerers as the Saint of Faith and mercy for his work with the poor of Luvalone.
Cyrilla the Magnificent: Cyrilla Acharian, also known as Cyrilla the Magnificent, is the first Acharian King or Queen to also be a Stygian sorcerer as well as Queen of Luvalon. She is known as the Magnificent for pushing the boundaries of Luvalone past the extent of Acharian’s original empire, increasing trade to massive proportions and personally assisting, through her mastery of magic, in repelling the first naval invasion of the Tazarids. Cyrilla was obsessed with a saint she claimed to have spoken to all her life, the Saint of Souls, she was the major proponent of this small folk saint moving from obscure cult into a full member of the Rois de grâce. He is now a major figure among the faithful of Luvalone and largely replaced Tyrantus as the Saint of Death. Due to her tremendous efforts she is named the Saint of Rulers and held only slightly lower than Acharius himself as Luvalone’s greatest ruler."-" First section of The Scroll of Kings", Grand Magus Bernard of San-Rachel, 1570 PI
