I MISS ‘Santa Clarita Diet’. So much. It’s easily one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen in my entire life, and it hits every time I watch it. Olyphant’s manic goofiness is the best, and Barrymore’s cursing is a work of art.

Last book: Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. Interesting read, lot's of commentary on rape culture and exploitation of female minors, very disturbing to me that people think it's romantic or lovely in any way. I honestly hate that it's title become synonymous with cp.

Last movie: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation because my coworker said it's a must-see for the holidays. It was okay I guess. Lots of boomer humor. I think the onky part that I genuinely enjoyed was special forces breaking into his house with "Here Comes Santa Clause" playing in the background lol

Last TV show: Santa Clarita Diet. I watched like, three episodes of the first season while working on embroidery. Her poor husband lol

Sweet/spicy/savory: savory for sure, good food with good seasonings and flavors is unbeatable

Relationship status: in one?? Steady dating? What's that called? Occupied? Idk

Last thing I googled: how to extract heme from blood, because someone on tiktok suggested that you could maybe use blood as ink if you removed the plasma and miced the red blood cells (and other solids tbh) into an ink medium so you still had the pigment but gave it some extra stability and I had to double check that that was scientifically a useless idea before telling them that (in a nicer way of course)

In case you're wondering, blood is a poor medium for ink writing because it clots, destablizes and fades over time, and sometimes even attracts bacterial and mild growth (ew). The cells would still do all of that even without the plasma, so you'd be better off just trying to dilute it in water and alcohol than trying to separate the blood or go through the lengthy chemical process of extracting heme.

Or you could just use oxblood ink like everyone else.

Current obsession: ive been playing a lot of State of Decay 2... Though the amount of time and thought I've spent on DC/batfam recently has also been somewhat concerning lol (like those WC/DC crossovers, man. They're all the same but I can'tget enough. Or Tim Drake causing chaos, that pathetic little psycho lol I need me more fics like The Drake's Spoiled Brat)

current audiobook is “Assassin’s Apprentice” by Robin Hobb (aka bookclub book with my sister and i listen to it on and off whenever the library app tells me i can)

I have found I have a tendency to jump between multiple books at one time depending on mood. Atm Work has melted my brain a bit and the spoons are in the dishwasher😔

Last movie: Wicked in theatres with my friends about a week or so ago… I don’t watch things that much anymore if its not like a video essay and even then those are background noise lol

Last TV show: ….GOOD QUESTION!!! It MAY have been Bluey????? BUT it could’ve also been American Dragon: Jake Long solely because I was trying to remember something for a crossover fic I’m trying to work at but I couldnt tell you😅 It’s been easily weeks…

Sweet/spicy/savory: Probably sweet…I blame the adhd for me wanting to seek it out. Literally was eating a couple of those Witches Brew kitkats after dipping them in peanutbutter lmao I DO love me some savory though like…man I really am craving some Japanese curry from this one place…

i cannot handle spicy alas! My palette while better than it used to be… I did grow up on a bland diet😅

Current obsession: while I have been playing a LOT of Moonstone Island lately…. It’s danny phantom and DC universe crossover fics because I’m a SUCKER for crossovers and my darn 10 year old self will NEVER let that nick cartoon go lmao

Looking forward to: Playing some D&D on Sunday at the library, cousin’s party, seeing some movies with my friends, hopefully get into the headspace to either do diamond art or paint with my watercolors while my brain reboots from work…

I had the second flower, a vine and a leaf done before I realized the flower was ONE SPACE TO THE RIGHT of where it should be. 

I have spent two episodes of “Santa Clarita Diet” ripping all those stitches out. (Remind me to get embroidery scissors...)

I will start over, but not right now. Not tonight/this morning (it’s twenty ‘til 3 AM here). This has all been a good learning experience... and my chair and blankets are covered with little bits of thread. @__@
