Been really into Sankarea lately!

It's a wild cast of characters in this one. To be honest, that's my entire review of the first chapter. Interesting chemistry. It's cute. It's funny. I'll probably get the whole series.

But am I the only one who thinks the characters are awkwardly normal? Like, he likes zombie girls and the idea of taking care of them. And she's just, "Yeah, you can try your reanimation potion on me~." Do these only sound like real-world motivations and responses to me? Am I just surrounded by weird people?

In other manga, characters seem fairly dull in comparison. Even their weirdness and quirks are rather. . .mundane. The true weirdness is the lack of natural character.

The main characters friends are also pretty boring, on that note.

Anyway, I looked at the back of the book, as I always do. There was no 'Stop! You're reading the wrong way!' page. However, there were 15 other manga recommendations. And since of them were wild. I don't even know. Something's Wrong With Us, Gleipnir, Sweat And Soap.

(Also, Furuya is giving cat boy.)

Esse volume começa muito bem com alguns quadros bem creepy da Rea meio fora de si. Esses pequenos elementos explorando o lado terror do gênero de zumbis são ótimos para equilibrar com o tom mais de comédia da obra.

O pai da Rea é um personagem simplesmente nojento e pervertido. Não gosto nem um pouco dele. Mas tem uma coisa do ambiente doméstico bizarro da família Sanka que eu amo de paixão: as empregadas. Essas mulheres trabalham a anos para um casal super esquisito da alta sociedade e isso é bem aparente. Essas personagens são carismáticas, esquisitas e hilárias na medida certa.

A bizarrice é algo bem aparente em todos os personagens desse mangá. Uma bizarrice que serve como forma de manter o leitor intrigado é a senilidade do avô do protagonista e seus episódios de lucidez. Também é legal ver ele como um velhinho bizarro que às vezes age como criança. Eu acabo rindo bastante dele.

Likely several others that I'm not remembering too clearly, but none of them unbalanced my brain quite like Kohaku has. She's really in her own category.

Not to be a little freak on the side but I watched and read Sankarea recently and want to write an Au but I don't know for what ship

I already know I want Bruce to be Rea Sanka cause 1. of course I do and 2. I think there are a lot/good amount of similarities between them

The only problem is that I can't think of who'd take the place of Chihiro

2022 Riddler is a good fit for Chihiro and his Zombie Fetish but I also feel like other possible characters are just passing on me (If anyone has ideas help your boy out 🙏🏽)

(Obviously, in general the story would be tweeked to fit the characters but that's why I'm so sad I'm drawing blanks rn)

I'm going to be honest, this only really popped into my mind because of chapter 55 and these scenes in particular

I just really like these panels and think an making an Au would be interesting

(Still can't decide if I would follow through with the Manga's actual ending or just stop it at 55 as a full on tragedy)
