Samuel Wickie, more commonly known among his friends and the squad as Sam or Wicks, is a young man from the Surdan lakeside town of Forlis. Towering over his teammates and cutting an imposing, muscular figure for such a height, most outside his social circle give him a wide berth. Sam is, however, one of the softest of the Special Tactics and Recon Wolfcats, clinging to his youthful outlook and always first to smile.

Sam was chosen for the Wolfcats for his uncanny navigation abilities, as well as his physical strength. Growing up on the shores of Tüdosten Lake, Sam spent his childhood illegally crossing over into Alagaësia to trade with other settlements across the lake. Whenever a route would be pinned down by Broddring soldiers, Sam would be the first to find a new one, over land or through the water. Maps were dangerous, as they could be easily seized by the patrolling soldiers, so Sam learned to read and memorize terrain.

His routes required him to carry whatever he wanted to barter with, and he never turned down requests from the villagers on either side of the border. Sam never viewed the people of Alagaësia as an enemy, only the soldiers, and preferred to help his fellow man rather than fight. As Galbatorix began cracking down on Surda’s encroaching border, however, Sam found himself in the position of being hunted by emboldened Broddring patrols. To save his family and in hopes of getting official Varden and Surdan support for Forlis, Sam joined the Varden as a recruit and has been with the Wolfcats ever since.

Sam is close with Caleb, the two young men thoroughly enjoying each other’s complimenting lighthearted personalities. Sam does his best to keep Caleb as young as possible, feeling responsible for him like an older brother, and won’t hesitate to put his foot down regarding Caleb’s safety. His feelings are understandable when looking to his family’s past: at only 14, Sam’s younger brother Malcom drowned while evading a Broddring patrol on the lake. Against his brother’s orders, Malcom had been attempting to take over his brother’s duties while Sam was ill, and had never crossed the lake alone before. Sam, though quick to smile and of sunny disposition, never quite forgave himself for the loss.

Like most people of Forlis, Sam wears a beaded braid in his hair, with each bead representing a feat of strength, cunning, agility, or bravery. Sam has four beads, two for feats of strength he performed while helping villagers, one for cunning after his years of dodging Broddring patrols, and one for his bravery for joining the Varden.

In 17th century New England, William and his family are banished from their Puritan settlement over a religious dispute. The family is forced to live on their own farm near a secluded forest. William and his wife, Katherine, have five children. Their oldest daughter, Thomasin; their next oldest, Caleb; young twins, Mercy and Jonas; and their newborn, Samuel. One day, Thomasin is playing peek-a-boo with Samuel when he is kidnapped by a witch. Katherine is devastated by the loss of her son and spends her days crying and praying. While William and Caleb are out hunting, the twins riled up the billy goat, Black Phillip. Katherine scolds William for leaving them and yells at Thomasin for not watching the twins. Thomasin is sent to wash Williams clothes and is bothered by Mercy. Messing with Mercy, Thomasin tells her that she is a witch and gave Samuel to the devil. The next morning, Thomasin forces Caleb to take her with him to go check the traps in the woods. A hare causes their horse to panic and their dog chases the hare, Caleb follows. The horse knocks out Thomasin and Caleb gets lost. While lost, Caleb found their dogs disemboweled body. He also finds a hut where a witch, disguised, emerges and kisses him. William finds Thomasin and brings her back home. Later that night, Caleb is found outside the home -- naked and ill. Caleb awakens and starts convulsing, while the family tries to pray for him, the twins claim they forgot the prayer and accuse Thomasin of witchcraft. The prayers help momentarily in which Caleb claims his love for the lord and then passes. William loses it and tries to get Thomasin to leave the devil and follow christ. Thomasin denies being a witch and accuses the twins instead. WIlliam throws his three remaining children into the shed. Thomasin denies being a witch but the twins do not deny being able to talk to Black Phillip. Katherine and William bury Caleb, and William begs God to punish him and spare his family. Later, the witch sneaks into the shed, drinks the blood of the milking goat, and attacks the twins. Meanwhile, Katherine hallucinates Caleb and Samuel returned to her. She "feeds" the baby which is actually a raven. The next morning, William wakes up to find the farm destroyed, the twins missing, and Thomasin unconscious. Black Phillip attacks and kills William. Katherine claims it is all Thomasin's fault and tries to kill her. In self defense, Thomasin kills her mother. Thomasin follows Black Phillip into the goat house and he asks Thomasin if she would like to have a better life. Black Phillip turns into a tall man wearing black and tells Thomasin to get naked and sign a book. She does and then follows him (as a goat) to the woods where she finds a coven and joins them.

I was not a huge fan of this movie because I feel like it lacked something. I had watched it when it originally came out and did not understand it. This second time I watched it I understood it a lot better and the discussion in class was very helpful. I think it is a good movie but not something I would choose to rewatch for a third time. I would argue, however, that is it a good witch movie. I think the actors/actresses did an amazing job and that it did give off a creepy vibe.

It has been 9 months since your boyfriend, Greg, had been deployed overseas. When he told you that he wanted to enlist, you didn’t know what to think. You were terrified that Greg was going to get hurt, but proud of him for being so brave. You couldn’t imagine not seeing him everyday at home or work and barely able to talk to Greg.But you supported him none the less, even if it broke your heart to see Mouse go.

Your partner, Antonio and the rest of the team knee how much you worried about him. You often confided in Antonio and Jay about how you were feeling. Before leaving, Mouse asked Jay to look out for you. Jay did the best that he could to reassure you Mouse would be okay, but your thoughts overwhelmed you.

A week ago, the three of you went out to Molly's after work. It happened to be one of those days when you couldn't turn your nervous thoughts off so you drank a little more than you should have. You tried to hide it but Antonio and Jay knew. "Talk to us Y/n" Antonio told you.

You didn't bother looking at him. You just stared off in front of you, looking at the shelves of alcohol.

Your words started to slur when you told him, "I haven't been sleeping. Most nights I wake up and feel around the bed for him cause I forget that he's gone." You grabbed your bottle and took a swing then said, "So I just hug his pillow. Cause it's the closest thing I have to him. Some times I spray his cologne on his pillow so it feels like he's there in bed with me"

When ever you were like this, it broke there hearts. You were obviously closest with Antonio and so whenever you were hurting he wanted to do whatever he could to help you. Jay was naturally upset too. But he couldn't help being proud of Mouse for finding a girl that loves him so deeply. Most girlfriends in your situation would of left him by now, yet even though you are in pain, you still stick it out. Which was why Jay and Antonio couldn't wait to show you your surprise.

A week had gone by since Molly's and you were now coming into the district for work. As you walked through the door, Sargent Platt looked up from her desk. Platt had always secretly liked you, so she made it her personal duty to check up on you. "How are we doing today Y/L/N?" She asked you.

You walked over and rested your arms on her desk. "A bit tired to be honest, but hopefully nothing coffee can't fix. How are you this morning Sarg?" You asked.

Platt had ignored your question "Have you heard anything from Mouse recently?"

Sadly you shook your head. "No I haven't. I used to get letters every few weeks or a random Skype call but I haven't heard from him in a while. "

Platts eyes softened, "Hey" she said, "keep your head up. I'm sure you'll hear from him soon"

You smiled at the desk sargent but before you could say thank you, Antonio came running down the steps and to the metal gate. "Y/N I need you up here."

You ran up the steps to meet him. "What's up Antonio? Every thing alright?" You ask him. You made you way up into the intelligence room with Antonio on your side.

"My CI just got arrested for theft. He's in the interrogation room, we need to talk to him and see what's up."

You kept walking to the interrogation room after putting your gun in your safe. "What did he steal?" You asked him

As Antonio opened the door you heard him say, "A truck load of bluray players"

And there he was standing in the middle of the room.

You through your eyes were playing tricks on you, but no. In the middle of the room stood a tall man in a milliary uniform with mousey brown hair and piercing blue eyes that you stared at all the time.

Greg's eyes were shining bright, but not as much as his smile. "Hi baby"

Tears started to run down your face when you heard his voice. You quickly pushed passed Antonio, knocking him into the wall, wrapped yourself around Greg. He picked you up and swung you slightly as your wrapped your legs around him. You buried our head in his neck while one hand went to grip his hair. The two of you started to cry and attempted to muffle your sobs but failed miserably. Your muscles started to shake from hang onto Greg so tightly.

You didn't notice that the rest of the team came out from behind the one way window and into the door way to watch you two.

You pulled away from his neck and placed a hand on his face gently, "It's really you? You're really home?"

Greg's blue eyes were now red and puffy, "You're stuck with me for a little while baby"

You started to laugh as you continued to cry. Oh how he missed the sound of your laugh.

Greg placed you back on the ground, still not letting go of each other, you pulled Greg's head down to kiss him. It's been 9 months since the last time you got to kiss him and as much as you wanted to keep kissing him, you heard your hoot and holler at the two of you. Mouse pulled away from you, "I wanted to tell you I was coming home but then Antonio and Jay thought it would be nice to surprise you."

You turned your head, still wrapped around Greg, "You two knew? For how long?" You asked them.

Antonio put his hand on the back of his neck, while Jay smirked and said, "Found out last week before we went to Molly's"

You shook your head at your friends and looked back at Mouse. "I've missed you so damn much Greg."

"I know. I thought about you everyday damn day Y/N" He grabbed your hand and lead you out the door to the rest of the team.

Everyone was in a cheery mood with Mouse back, even Hank didn't hide it. In fact, Voight told you, "Y/N why don't you take some time off? Don't worry about us right now just go home and be with each other."

Taken aback you asked him, "Are you sure Hank?"

"Absolutely. Get out here."

The two of you left a little while later, everyone wanted to say hi to Mouse. The team saw you guys off and went back up to there office.

"How long do you think he'll last?" Jay asked Antonio.

"No long at all. He barely was barely able to keep this secret." Antonio said.

The rest of team heard there little conversation and couldn't help but be curious.

"What do you mean Jay?" Hailey asked him.

"Before Antonio and I brought Mouse here-"

" We had to make a quick stop-"

"So Mouse could pick up Y/N's ring"

Living With Mouse

    - A frighteningly organised living space. He’s very much of the tidy place, tidy mind mentality which he developed whilst in the military and was then enforced through his PTSD therapy in the VA. He maintains this mindset in work and applies to his apartment as well. That said he has began to relax that aspect of his life since you moved in.

    - The bed is always made, you have no idea how he managed to make it look so neat and crease free but you like it until it’s time to go to bed and you have difficulty untucking the sheets.

    - The apartment will constantly be upgraded as he explores the possibilities of the Alexa you got him for Christmas. One day he’ll show you how you can turn off the lights without getting off the couch, the next he has the TV and Playstation turning on too.

    - Sleeping in his ‘The Ramones’ t-shirt. He has long accepted that this now belongs to  you and your collection of sleepwear and if he’s honest, he kinda likes seeing you wear it.

    - Sharing showers in the evening, your hands smoothing over the scars on his chest as you lather him up with your citrus shower gel. He loves the sensation of you massaging his lean form, under the hot water. The way your fingertips play across his skin underneath the shower stream. The entire process relaxes him in a way that he knows you understand. That night when the two of you go to bed you know he’ll sleep soundly.

    - Mouse loves having you curled up on his chest, your nose tucked into the curve of his throat as your fingertips doodle a pattern through the t-shirt he’s wearing. It always helps him to relax and he drifts off feeling safe and secure in your arms.
