If only I could cause you the pain that you've caused me. First we'll see who's behind the mask. I can look into your eyes as you die.

Do you ever think about the fact that…
The last shot of Raimi’s Spider-Man 1 is Peter alone.
The last shot of Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 is MJ alone.
The last shot of Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 is Peter and MJ together.

Something so fucked up and angsty about "I saved your life! Why won't you save mine?!" Harry Osborn and Peter Parker are really the characters of all time. Harry instinctively giving Venom to Peter even though it's the only thing keeping him alive. Peter refusing to give Venom back because he is also scared of losing Harry, of him losing sight of what he cares about. Also, it really made me think back on Harry from the sam raimi movies. Them being driven apart through how much they care about each other, making that lie or betrayal hurt infinitely worse. Thinking maybe in this universe, Harry won't end up dying in Peter's arms.

I feel like we as a culture lost the right to have any good movies anymore when we turned on the Sam Raimi Spider-man movies for some reason. They’re so funny without having to poke fun at themselves. Everyone in those movies knows exactly what kind of movie they’re in and is unabashedly committed to it, they’re so unapologetically sincere in a way that works because Raimi was clearly so passionate about the material but somehow we decided they’re bad actually. This is why we can’t have nice things now. There’s no sincerity and cheesy soap-opera drama in the superhero genre now. Like I love TomDaya as Peter/MJ but imagine their relationship development if those movies were allowed the slightest bit of identity porn instead of just doing this wah-wah “Yeah duh I already know you’re Spider-man, all Gen-Z kids have seen the movies and know that and I’m so disaffected with it and cool” thing.
