In the episode after Rakhi, where Arnav surprises Khushi with all the gifts she likes, the salman khan poster, jalebi, gol gappe. The one gift for which she becomes emotional and so as Arnav is the pearl necklace. Why is that, she tears down when she sees that gift. In the episode they show a flashback of Arnav tearing up her dori and all the pearls falling on the ground from the broken dori from the sheesh mahal episode. Every time I see that episode I just think and move on that she thinks of it as how he’s replacing all the bad memories for her with creating new and happy one’s. But somehow I’m not always convinced with it nor the scene as they both later hug each other and comfort each other.

Can you let me know why exactly Arnav gifts her that necklace and all of a sudden Khushi becomes emotional? I want to know your thought and theory on it. It would be great if you could convince me, haha!

First thing, I won’t be able to convince you because I can only tell you my interpretation :)

The Pearls

Arnav is trying to make amends for all he has done. He knew he had crossed line multiple times and any attempt at showing affection was backfiring massively. He thinks of outcomes first, pathways second. So in his mind using any method to keep Khushi home would be worth it.

And it wasn’t. She grew more distant from him. The bickering that they used to take comfort in was slowly turning into harsh conversations (rightfully so) and no banter was taking place. He has previously seen that challenging her brought her closer, giving her things she liked brought her closer.

But none of that works in this case. So an idea finally clicked in his head that there needs to be less of winning her back and more of a genuine attempt to make her happy.

So he gives her things that have two meanings;

1) it conveys how closely he has seen her, observed her

2) he loves her

Arnav’s love language is not communication. He tries to seal cracks by gifts. It takes him a lot to talk. And Khushi rarely holds a grudge if someone is doing something from the heart.

These gifts are without occasion, they don’t come with the force of being accepted, and there’s no “ASR” written on it. It took effort for him to get these things.

There was a man who sat down, thought of everything his wife liked from memory, and made sure they were all there.

So he just doesn’t get her jalebis - he gets it from her favorite store in Delhi (he’s also surprised that she immediately gets it which store it’s from).

And we can see Khushi’s face. At first she’s hesitant, taken aback why are these things that she likes.

And she looks at him, waiting for an explanation. But he’s quiet, leaving her alone with her gifts. Her joy mirrored in his eyes.

For the first time Khushi sees his gifts beyond control, excessive love and display of his wealth.

No part of him is going “here look at me, I took so much effort to give you what you wanted, now you should talk to me”

Rather it’s just a “I hope you like these”

And since these gifts are so sincere, she forgives him in a heartbeat. Khushi is already warm with affection because he just kissed her forehead and told her that he wore the sherwani only because he knew Khushi suggested it (through NK).

It’s the only time he complains about what he does for her - and in the most adorable fashion. “Whenever I turn I feel my pants will fall!”

Arnav never says he loves her, but this is probably the most sweetest confession of his love.

The pearls hold a deep connection for them, individually. I don’t think Khushi even knows Arnav kept the pearls from her blouse safe with him. But for Arnav it was the first thing he had from Khushi and he kept it safely.

For Khushi she dreamt that he’d once gift her a necklace of pearls - a symbolism to how they first met (it’s not romanticizing that moment). But him making her wear a pearl necklace in her dreams was a closure to the fact that he ripped away her pearl dori the first time they met.

And seeing the pearl necklace - something she dreamt - in front of her eyes stunned her.

To be brutal, Arnav has never fulfilled or come close to any of Khushi’s hopes and dreams she had with this relationship or about love in general. Any imagination was solely hers and reality was incredibly different (and painful).

Even his ‘I love you’ wasn’t a shy conversation she had once hoped on the terrace, rather it was a desperate man’s last words. Words she thought he said to caution her.

So Khushi stopped dreaming about Arnav and their relationship for a really long time. And suddenly to be confronted with a moment that is straight out of her dreams overwhelm her.

Arnav was nervous. He knows her disdain for anything expensive - which was further instated by his terrible behaviour, he had once lashed out when she’s received jewelry from Nani after Heer Ranjha - so he don’t not know how she’ll accept jewellery.

He sees her hesitation around the box and he’s desperately hoping she likes it because it is the most open conversation he’s ready to have. If she asks about her pearls and why - he’ll say so. He has the words and courage to respond to her question- one he didn’t have in Diwali.

At first he fears when he sees her go glum at the necklace. And he’s just hoping against hope at this moment.

What he doesn’t expect is for her to cry. To be so genuinely happy that she cries.

It takes Khushi a moment longer to connect to why Arnav gifted her pearls and that it’s no mere coincidence with her dreams. So she’s quiet and she stares at him, wondering if she’s reading more into this or reading him for this first time.

And it’s the first time Arnav hugs her. He didn’t mean to make her cry but he’s also humbled by her quick forgiveness. In silence they’ve communication that all the arguments are laid to rest, for good.

And that she loves him too.

I think finally, finally they both know that they want this - the relationship - and that it’s not because something has happened and it needs to remain this way.

It’s because it fulfills a dream the two had seen a LONG time ago.

It’s a beautiful scene and it also makes me sad because this space and equation should’ve been dealt with further - cause this was the healing we needed to see. And… the whole Khushi raising questions about the legitimacy of their wedding and Arnav frightening her with suhaagraat and all don’t just fit when there’s been such a sensitive scene in the show.

My favourite two-hero films of all time- Part 1.

I miss the era when two superstars of the same generation collided on the big screen. Here are my favourite two-hero films of all time-

KARAN ARJUN(1995)

This film had everything a Bollywood movie could ask for. Romance,Action, Comedy, Drama- it had it all. It was a highly hyped release, since the starcast boasted of Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Raakhee,Amrish Puri,Kajol and Mamta Kulkarni. The storyline of the film focused on a desolate mother and her two sons, who get to know about the truth about their father's death and vow to avenge him, but their greedy uncle kills them instead. 20 years later, they get reincarnated to complete the revenge. While Kajol plays SRK's love interest ( of course!), Mamta Kulkarni plays Salman's girlfriend. Salman was easily the surprise package of the film. His intense, brooding role made my day.

KSHATRIYA(1993)

Honestly speaking, a film like this with so many superstars in one frame can't be made today, like can you imagine Dharmendra,Sunil Dutt, Vinod Khanna, Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Meenakshi Shesadri,Raveena Tandon, Divya Bharti, Raakhee, Puneet Issar and Prem Chopra in one movie in today's time? It was also a rare instance where Sunil Dutt and Dharmendra played father to their real life sons. The film is about an age-old enmity between two Kshatriyan families, over a cow sacrifice. They send their sons to foreign lands to keep them safe from their bloody enmity. Both of them end up becoming friends and a problem ensues when they refuse to continue their enmity. All the lead actors, especially Sunny Deol, acted really powerfully.

SUHAAG(1994)

This film was another big-ticket one, since it starred a good lead cast of Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Karisma Kapoor and Nagma. Though it is Ajay who is the main hero, Akshay is more than his sidekick in this film. Karisma and Nagma were more for just romance, though Lolo was the better and the more daring girl. She chased after Ajay's character since she was madly in love with him, and that cinema hall scene was indeed hilarious! The story revolves around Ajay(Devgn)and Raj(Akshay), two best friends who keep on playing pranks on each other and get into trouble regularly. One day, Ajay goes to get his passport made, but he is shocked when he finds out his real name. That night, he sees his mother keeping a Karvachauth and he demands answers. She tells him the whole story of how his father was wrongly framed and was sent to jail. On hearing this, Ajay goes and meets his father in jail and promises to destroy the man who framed him. Raj too joins him in this fight for justice, unaware of the fact that his father too was involved in this.

ANDAZ APNA APNA(1994)

One of the best comedy films of all time. The most shocking fact of this film is that such a great film like this, boasting of a starcast of Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor flopped miserably when it was released. The story revolves around Amar(Aamir)and Prem(Salman), two young jobless slackers who have been a burden on their father's heads. They dream to get rich by wooing and marrying Raveena Bajaj(Raveena), a super-rich heiress who has just returned from England. By doing some drama, Amar and Prem get into her house, but there is a gangster Teja(Paresh Rawal) and his two cronies, Robert and Bhalla, who scheme to kill Raveena and to take away all the wealth. And another problem is Raveena's bumbling secretary Karishma (Karisma Kapoor) who falls in love with Prem.

MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI(2004)

David Dhawan's two-hero formula has always worked with the audiences, so it's no surprise that this film too did. However, it's way different from his earlier films. It's a story of two men competing to win over a woman. Sameer(Salman) is a short-tempered, God-fearing simpleton who loses his temper at a drop of a hat. That's the reason why he's been unlucky in love. He relocates to Goa as a beach lifeguard. There he comes across a beautiful fashion designer Rani(Priyanka) and instantly falls in love with her. Unfortunately, along with being short-tempered, Sameer is also a ill-fated person, as he unknowingly ends up slapping Rani's father. Adding to the problem is his new roommate Sunny(Akshay) who too develops a liking for her. Rani is faced with a dilemma when she starts liking both Sameer and Sunny. Who will she choose? The songs, acting of the lead cast and the supporting cast, are the things to watch out for in this film.

HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM(1999)

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's second directorial focuses on love and marriage. It is the story of a musician Sameer(Salman) who comes from Italy to India to learn music from his master and starts living with his family. He constantly flirts, mocks and teases his master's daughter Nandini (Aishwarya) and gets along well with the family members. After some time, Nandini and Sameer become friends and over time, they gradually fall in love with each other. However, when her father finds out about their relationship, he tells Sameer to go away and never return. Sameer refuses to disobey his master and returns to Italy. Nandini gets married to Vanraj(Ajay) who also loves her. However, she still loves Sameer. Vanraj realizes that the love in Nandini's eyes isn't for him, but for Sameer. So, paying no regard to what people will say to him, he decides to sacrifice his love for her and takes her to Italy to reunite her with Sameer. Will he succeed? Watch the film to find out. The songs, Ajay and Salman's acting will make your day.

JAAN E MANN(2006)

Another love triangle. After the success of Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Sajid Nadiadwala roped in Shrish Kunder and superstars Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta for this film Jaan E Mann. It's about Suhaan(Salman) an aspiring actor who lands in a fix when his wife Piya(Preity) divorces him and asks him to pay 50 lakh as alimony. As he asks his uncle, midget lawyer Bonny Singh (Anupam Kher) how to pay, he comes across Agastya Rao(Akshay) an astronaut by profession who came by searching for Piya, since he had a crush on her in their college days. So, to avoid paying alimony, Suhaan decides to help Agastya in wooing Piya. And they travel to New York, where Piya is. However, in this quest Suhaan ends up falling in love with her again. What does he do next, watch the film to know more.

LONDON DREAMS(2009)

After directing successful films like Namastey London, Waqt:The Race Against Time, Vipul Amrutlal Shah set upon making a musical drama London Dreams. He brought together two superstars Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn and south star Asin. The film is about two childhood bff's Arjun(Ajay) and Mannu(Salman). Arjun dreams of becoming a world-famous singer and he runs away from home to London to accomplish his goals. Arjun grows up to be a singer, while Mannu becomes a womanizer who seduces married women. Arjun comes back home to take Mannu along with him to London. There, Mannu's behavior makes him more popular among the audience, which makes Arjun jealous. What does he do? SAAJAN(1991)

This came out at a time when Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit had established their careers as stars and Salman was the new reckoning force. Saajan focuses around Aman(Sanjay) a crippled, orphaned young boy, who is befriended by Akash(Salman) a rich boy. Both grow up as brothers. Aman becomes a poet with the pen name Sagar, while Akash becomes a casanova. Aman's poems become famous all over and he has millions of fans. One of them is Pooja(Madhuri) who is secretly in love with him, and confesses it to him through his letters. Over time, Aman also falls in love with her, but one day Akash comes across Pooja and falls in love with her. Aman is heartbroken when he comes to know of this, but he decides to sacrifice his love for Pooja and asks Akash to pose as Sagar. What happens next? Watch the film to find out.

Trigger warning: discussion of suicide and depression below.

I am just so so tired of the on-going news/whatsapp forwards cycle in India and I had to write down my thoughts and vent them once before proceeding to consciously avoid this topic for the next two weeks for the sake of my mental health. So here they are.

Nepotism and concentration of power is bad in any context, any where. So I agree that we need to start looking at how this works and stopping it from happening. But please let's not be hypocrites about this. Ya, let's talk about KJo and Alia and Sonam. But why stop there? Why do people think they are the worst? Because they had a tiff with Kangana the Great? By no standards are they the worst, rather, they are part of the bigger problem. If anyone has to be the "worst" it should be YRF, for their exploitative contracts with newcomers. It should be Bhushan, Sajid Nadiadwala, Subhash Ghai - all known for predatory behavior towards female talent. But somehow they escaped the ire of the metoo movement and seemingly of this outrage too.

Lets talk about the Root of the problem which is an ancient social malaise in our culture of favoring your own clan (caste, family, religion) above all else. It's obvious to us NOW in Bollywood as a bad thing because films and film stars are in the public eye and for whatever reason, the BJP IT cell has taken to this news cycle. But if you think critically for one second, you'll see that the problem goes all the way, every way. You're telling me politics don't have nepotism? Industries don't have nepotism? How did Anil Ambani inherit (and lose!) hundreds of crores then? On the other end of the scale, why are a large percentage of sanitation workers in India still of a certain caste? Why do Dalits still get lynched and the perpetrators are not only not-punished but often, rewarded? Isn't this a form (perhaps the ugliest and yet most ubiquitous form) of "nepotism" in our society?

I mean, what is the issue we're attacking? That riches and wealth and privilege stays in certain families with certain surnames and this stats quo is sometimes violently enforced? Then that's a social problem across all fields. But somehow people are happy to make a scapegoat of one person, who happens to be gay and hence a convenient target, send death threats to actresses who have no relation to the situation, and then tomorrow we'll forget about it, go see a Salman Khan movie, sign up for Jio free internet, rail against reservations, or whatever with joy.

Let me be clear, I don't care about Karan Johar one bit on a personal level. He's a coward and no doubt has used his power in Bollywood irresponsibly, even maliciously. I don't like most of his movies and IMO he's unnecessarily nasty on his talk show. But just remember that nepotism isn't a Bollywood only problem or a Karan Johar only problem.

Finally, coming to SSR, I find it highly distasteful how people are just going on and on speculating about his death, like he's a murder mystery book to devour and not a real person with family members grieving him. On the day of his death the news channels were saying "he was so successful, why did he do this" and other insensitive rubbish. Now they're like "he was actually failing because of X Y and Z person". In all this there seems to be no concern for his family, the dignity of the dead man and the advice of mental health experts (when reporting a suicide, one of the first rules is not to speculate about the reasons as this can trigger a spate of similar suicides in people who feel they relate to the person). For some reason we really want one person or few people to be the cause of the suicide so that it's a neat story wrapped up but the truth is the system sucks and we as a society have a lot of work to do to fix this system. The system which favors the status quo, which requires violence against the powerless, which creates a stigma around mental health. The whole system is at fault and even if KJo becomes a big failure tomorrow the system will go on unless our society as a whole acknowledges the fundamental problems and works towards change.

Sorry if I've been insensitive or blase on my language, I know I sound very negative, I'm not trying to say the world is a terrible place with no hope. On the contrary I believe it's wonderful how much hope there actually is, how many real life heroes there are, how important the little things are even against the grand scale of horror, how much progress we've made and I believe things can and will get better.

But right now, I am just really really sick and tired of this news cycle, and the insensitive way in which suicide, depression etc. has been reported. It's sickening and I'm done with it. I'm not reading and engaging anymore and I'm going to copy paste the above and send it to all my groups where any discussion of this is going on.

I've said it before and i will say it again  It is all a mixed Bag, Mixed Genres, Mixed reasons to suggest them right from the quality to acting to cinematography to story to critical acclaim to some just for PURE ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES.  I makes these lists because I feel these features deserve love and appreciation and because some made me feel Proud and some just for pure entertainment factor . Sidenote.. all titles are actual links where you can watch the features with subs and most of these are On prime video or netflix as well

K.G.F: Chapter 1 |Kannada| *Yash | alt Link  A young man's promise to his dying mother leads him on a dangerous quest for power and wealth.  If I may say so this One pretty much did the same thing in terms of opening doors to kannada film industry like Baahubali did to tollywood. This one  followed the formula and dubbed it in multiple languages and gave it a wide release worldwide which raised eyeballs and got me curious too esp caz this one has a similar plot with the rise of a hero and the hunger for power just set in a completely different world and era. Now the Strength here is the screenplay  and the non-linear pattern which keeps you engaged, with the growth of Rocky being shown steadily. The film is set between 1951 to 2018 and maintains a sense of curiosity as each character is unveiled. Yash is Phenomenal in it as rocky. I said it back then when i watched it and i will say it again He exuded the same kind of charisma say like a 70′s 80′s hero e.g Mr Bachchan from his blockbuster hits where he Played similar roles or salman khan in his typical masala characters basically Larger than life even if he has this arc of being a nobody to Rocky Bhai to Rocky the messiah. One word of Caution... This one gets a lil confusing in Kannada  and with subs as there are too many characters and each one has his/her own agenda. i was confused at many parts but then i watched the hindi dubbed version and it made a world of difference. this one is fairly well dubbed too just like baahubali and what i mean is the voices didn’t sound robotic. Also i personally felt they went a little too far with the dukhi  junta in prison in 2nd half and the violence as in it got very tedious but thank God that got over soon with the rise of this hero but it is worth watching and rest of it is really good, esp the last 15 mins WOWWWWW I cannot wait for part 2. Also my only sandalwood entry.

Fidaa | tel |*Varun Tej, Sai Pallavi  (on Prime as well) Two young people embark on a winding and rocky path to love after meeting at a wedding. First of all supercute romantic, comedy/ family drama but what is refreshing about it is that it is Mainly from the Heroine’s POV and we have a VERY STRONG heroine who has her opinions, her say ,her own thought process and who is just so real. On the surface it looks like just another tollywood rom com but it’s Not. the music is really Good too and Sai Pallavi is A bundle of joy as Bhanu who calls the shots  mostly here. Needless to say it is one of my Feel good films when  i want to see something that makes me smile and gives me that comfort vibe i  go to this one mostly.

Tumbbad|hin|*soham shah . A man and his son encounter a legendary demon while searching for hidden treasure in 19th-century India. 

This one will come as a surprise to many as it is a hindi title but This one a rare gem that is Underrated af and i haven’t seen a finer hindi film in the last year because of how rich it’s content is and how thought provoking it is. The makers have invested years in getting to final result and it shows. this one gave me goosebumps, sacred me, left me mesmerized and make me go WHAT too. This is also on this list because you may not have heard about it at all just like myself who had no idea and jumped into it out of supreme boredom and was left in complete awwwwww and then did my reading and research. This one is a well thought out psychological horror film with strong visuals and metaphors and makes you question as it plays with your mind. Tumbbad is a perfect example of a film that creates a surreal illusion.

Imaikkaa Nodigal| Tam| Nayanthara,Atharvaa, Anurag kashyap: alt link  A suave CBI officer (Nayanthara), is in search of a serial killer who kidnaps and kills the children of important people. The killer, however, is targeting his nemesis next. a revenge thriller with a strong Plot unpredictable and amazing twists.Each character has an important role and Nayan As a Bad ass cop who freaking sets the bar too high for female officers in desi films. THis one is one of the finest Thrillers in recent years which actually gives you thrills and Shocks and most of them one can’t guess. Let me be honest i gave upon this seeing anurag kasyap as the antagonist as i was unable to bear rudra and just his Ottness on top of that atharvaa’s lovestory as the parallel track mad me go ehhh as i initially clicked on it for nayan and there was so little of her in the beginning but then i gave it another try and couldn’t stop & was WOWEDDD by the Film and Nayan as anjali and yeah she is the MAIN CHARACTER so we get a lot of her later. She is at her FINEST as anjali. this is the film one wants to watch to get a high of sorts. WATCH IT FOR NAYAAAN FOR A STRONG FEMALE ACTOR/CHARACTER Taking the center stage and BEING FANTASTIC. This one is so just so entertaining in so many ways and the film one can watch on any given day despite knowing the plot twist. Beware Nayan and Vijay’s little arc is heartbreaking and i cried a lot tooooooooo... i was shattered at that part..... it is so hauntingly shot too. TW: Graphic violence  In that scene 

Mahanati|Tel|* Dulquer Salmaan, keerthy suresh, samantha, vijay D |alt link  Biopic based on  The life story of South Indian actress Savitri, who took the film industry by storm in the late '50s and '60s Mahanati is a film about the rise of the first female south Indian superstar – Savitri. Her story one of the most heart wrenching romantic tragedies of our times.This film tells a story of the Mahanati; her life, her journey to fame, and the dramatic downfall. Keerthy Suresh, elegantly brought Savitri to life, and Gemini Ganesan, played by Dulquer Salman, makes this film a true pleasure to watch. I had no idea who Savitri was i went into it because DQ and Again was BLOWN AWAY by How well made this film is and how it is made with so much sensitivity and rawness. it keeps the real journey part intact as in doesn’t sugarcoats or overly glamorizes things to show Savitri as some mahaan hasti. They make this film the Grand celebration of her life with all her struggles and tragedies  and makes you connect with her in a very real  manner and All this Makes this film so much more than a film. this one becomes that Larger than life Grand,SHE IS A HERO More because she truly is rather than OH because she had this sob story IYKWIM  like hindi Biopics do. They have made savitri Grand By her resilience by her courage by her will power and invested in the character and plot rather than all taam jhaam. This one is By far the best Biopic i’ve seen from desi industries and Not One and i mean it NOT one Hindi biopic even comes close to this one in terms of presentation. Keerthy suresh is a joy to watch as savitri. i am not gonna lie i broke down at few points and that is because of her acting and laughed too i connected so strongly to an actress’s story (who i had no idea about as in savitri i had 0 knowledge about savitri or in general about south industries retro eras ) only because of keerthy’s presentation.Also dulquer is a Joy as gemini ganeshan. he really slipped into it with ease and lived upto the part. they have achieved finesse in  showcasing a life story and recreating old songs from black & white era. If nothing else on this list watch this and imaikaa nodigal and you won’t regret it 

Rangasthalam |tel| *Ramcharan, Samantha :  Chitti Babu, a hearing impaired boat skipper, becomes caught in the middle of a political feud in the village of Rangasthalam. Watch this one for Ram charan’s performance  He is a delight to watch as chitti babua and this easily is his Best WORK till date this character have so much to play with and He ACES IT . The strong and intriguing story line is also a Plus . The film is not just set in the 80s; it also picks a story template from that era and narrates the tale in a refreshingly raw manner but the characters are so well fleshed out they don’t look caricatures by any means. the songs are grand and super fun to watch too. 

Maari 2 |tam|* dhanush, sai pallavi :  Maari, a gangster with a heart of gold, tangles with a new nemesis who is determined to bring about his downfall. First things first this one is mileas ahead of the previous version in everything. A much stronger film in every way. Otherwise it is a pure masala entertainer with all the masala elements and  dhanush and sai make a BOMB pair and their lil story is ahh sooo full of feelz. 

Sudani from Nigeria |Mal|* soubin shahir:  When a soccer club manager brings one of his injured foreign players home to recuperate, they form an unlikely bond despite their cultural differences.. A refreshing sports drama that touches your heart. explores the cultural differences so beautifully. the characters stay with you much longer after the film is over. The film effortlessly explores iissues in the neighborhood and much bigger political issues too. overall SImply an underrated film and one should watch it for it’s warmth and sincerity.

Koode|Mal|*prithviraj,nazriya nazim, paravthy  A family tragedy causes a young man to reflect on his childhood and reassess his future.Anjali Menon and that brilliant cast should eb your reason to watch. i don’t think i need to say another word to convince you but still anyway. it takes you on and emotional roller coaster ride. it is a flawless film with an extraordinary cast. also Naz is as charming as ever in her comeback film. there are very few films who actually jump into exploring the bond between a brother and sister and this one aces it with reflecting upon various issues and things they had to go throughasa family  as well as their individual struggles. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. Also Paro and prithvi yeah. .. simply OUTSTANDING film

Varathan |mal|* fahadh faasil,Aishwariya lekshmi:  After losing his job, Abin and his wife, Priya, move from Dubai to Priya's family estate in Kerala, but peace eludes the couple. It takes it’s time in the first half but in second it comes all guns blazing and turns into a worth watching survival thriller. it does makes one uneasy at times with the contsant stalker guys lurking around but it is all worth the wait at the end. trust me..

Chekka Chivantha Vaanam |tam| *vijay sethupathi,arinswami,jyothika,simbu;  An attempt is made on the life of a reigning don, and it sets in motion a succession battle between his three sons. In other words Godfather with Mani ratnam  twists A delicious film to devour it si an out and out maniratnam film with massy fan moments and smart filmmaking techniques. watch it for performances esp. i wish jyo had more to do but she is good at what she does in her supporting role. . this one is a true blue  multi starrer ,family drama.

Merku Thodarchi Malai |tam| Antony, Gayatri Krishnan, Abu Valayamkulam :  it  revolves around the life and times of a group of people living along the foothills of the Western Ghats. basically we travel along with Rangu ( teh pratagonist) who is a daily wage worker and his struggles in bringing that load upto the city  and his one dream to own a piece of land someday. this oen is almost like a documentary. this makes you thank and count your blessings. feel every bit of pain and effort and struggle that these daily wage workers have to go through in their daily lives. i broke down at so many points and i just wanted to do something to help makes lives a bit easier. IDK it hit me so hard at places and made me thankful for all the things i have. 

Mayanaadhi |Mal|*tovino thomas,aishwariya lekshmi : A mule driver in a gang and an aspiring actress try to navigate their way through an unexpected romance. Mayaanadhi is a beautiful tale of love. The emotions it conveys needs to be experienced and the movie gives us a taste of life. Aashiq Abu really knocked it out of the park once again with this one. this one. It is a simple enough tale with a plot that is real to life and familiar.It is perhaps the most Soulful Romantic film i’ve seen in last year or so. 

Takeoff|Mal|*parvathy,fahadh :  A young Muslim woman (Parvathy) struggles to find love and happiness in midst of the ongoing civil war in Iraq. It  an ode to the Indian spirit. This is a riveting survival saga, made by a team gifted with acute political and social awareness. It is, in one word, stunning. Paro Simply have slayed. A bit like airlift as in the basic setting and premise is similar but poles apart. it is one hell of a film( in a good way) PARO,PARO,PARO. this is all i have to say to explain the brilliance of it.
