Berankis dug deep and stepped in once Added tightened up. It all paid off in the tie-breaker, where a smash and Added's slice error became the other reasons behind Berankis' victory. Or at least, some turning points.

Added might have stepped up his service games by scoring 15 aces to Berankis' 4, but it was not the case on who had more service games winning percentage. Berankis won 2% more first serves than Added, while Added only won 39% of his points from his second serves, making it prone to Berankis' attacks.

While Added had a 50% break point conversion rate, the conversion happened at the expense of Berankis' error back in the third set. However, despite only having 33% conversion rate, Berankis produced more opportunities thanks to pressing Added's shots further. While Added's working forehands might have carried his whole momentum shift, the tightening was also the reason behind Berankis' raised aggression after what happened in the second set, turning it around again in his favor.

This title marked Berankis' fourteenth career Challenger title, his first since winning the Vancouver Challenger in August 2019. Interestingly, both players will head to Lille Challenger with a special exempt next week: Dan Added will face a qualifier, while Berankis will face Aziz Dougaz in the first round. Should be fun to follow!

Immediately after Falaise, the king had tried to limit Breton patriotism by remarrying his rebel son’s future mother-in-law, Duchess Margaret, to Humphrey IV de Bohun, Lord of Carentan in the Cotentin and constable of England. Margaret had likely been active in rallying support against Henry in the war, so the king could not trust leaving her in charge of his son and the heiress of Brittany, Constance.  After the Bohun marriage, Margaret either chose or was not allowed to visit her daughter until sometime between 1187 and 1199, at least six years after the death of her second husband and possibly during the divorce of her daughter from her second husband Earl Ranulf III of Chester.  Mother and daughter did not appear to meet again for at least thirteen years and when they did encounter each other it was on Breton soil at Jugon-les-Lacs, southeast of Saint-Brieuc.
