#Saint campaign makes me insane they put it in the game to make me mentally ill specifically

I wonder if Saint's the only one who perceives ascensionland as a hellscape. It's implied to be a dream, or at least has dreamlike effects. I wonder what's really going on, some of the echoes describe it rather ominously too

Im assuming you mean rubicon? If so I have nothing but loose very extremely out there ideas either, rubicon confuses me so much.

Rubicon could be what the void does to every other creature going in there, and show saint what it desires most. Which for saint seems to be ascending creatures and the iterators, depending on how you play and if you interpret saint ascending things as a deliberate choice, and not just a creature defending itself with the weapons it has at hand. The iterators monologues could be interpreted as saints wish to help them ascend and understand the cycle, I suppose. In which case, if a creature had the same desire as saint, their void/rubicon would look like that too, maybe?

Maybe it has to do with saint having attachments that stop them from ascending and turn them into an echo. Maybe the void looks like a hellscape to everyone who is about to become an echo, maybe its a personalised hellscape based on what holds you back, similar to how it gives creatures a personalised vision of what they desire most when they ascend.

Rubicon could also be an actual place/version of the void that is not attached to saint specifically, where realities overlap and whatnot just because they can. And saint just uses that to cross over to the next reality. In which case it would just look like that to anyone who enters and looks like that for the fun of it or it could be a combination of all of those or nothing like what I said at all. I have No idea

In any case I think the reason its like a dream because its a space inbetween spaces or worlds or cycles, similar to how the echoes are beings stuck between worlds. I dont know what you mean by the echoes describing rubicon ominously, I'll have to read through some dialogue when its not 6 am I think.
