Top 5 Lowest Score Defended in PSL History
The PSL is the famous and most prestigious domestic cricket league in Pakistan. Anyway, the PSL has started in full swing from April 11. However, each team is contributing their stellar performances in every match. Moreover, the opening ceremony began with a star-studded night of excitement.
Meanwhile, the opening match between ISL and LAH has taken every cricket fan through extraordinary thrills. Where LAH came out to bat first and ISL had the duty of chasing. Indeed, ISL showed their impeccable power lineup with impressive chasing skills. And they won!

Here, ISL showed success by chasing down runs and achieving victory. But there have been a few teams in PSL history who have faced the lowest score while chasing runs. Let’s take a look at the Top 5 Lowest Score Defended in PSL History.
5. Karachi Kings with 126 Score
Islamabad United’s match against Karachi Kings in 2017 presented an unexpected shock to every viewer. The first over of the match was a bad check and they brilliantly set a 126-run target for Islamabad United. In the world of Twenty20 cricket, 126 runs is not a big deal for a good team. Unfortunately, Islamabad United could only manage 82 runs and could not get any further than that. As a result, KRK wins this match.

4. Islamabad United with 132 Score
Islamabad United and Karachi Kings face off in the sixth match of the 2016 Pakistan Super League tournament. With a blistering performance, Islamabad United set a target of 132 runs for the Kings. But the Kings were all out after scoring 130 runs.
As a result, this cloud easily wins over Islamabad United. However, the Player of the Match in this entire match was Karachi Kings’ Ravi Bopara and Islamabad United’s Saeed Ajmal with three wickets each.
3. Peshawar Zalmi with 132 Score
Peshawar is third on the list in terms of defense. This team has always shown some impactful performances in the Pakistan Super League. One of the most memorable matches that every viewer will remember is the match between Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars in the 2020 Pakistan Super League at Rawalpindi Stadium.
Batting first in this match, Peshawar managed to set a formidable target of 132 runs for Qalandars. But Qalandar could not go any further after scoring 116 runs that day.
2. Quetta Gladiators with 133 Score
A very memorable match took place between Gladiators and Zalmi in 2016. Batting first, Gladiators set a target of 133 runs against Zalmi at the Dubai Cricket Stadium. But as Zalmi was unable to chase this run, the Gladiators won the match in 19 overs.
1. Quetta Gladiators with 136 Score
In the second match of the PSL in 2017, the Gladiators and Qalandars faced each other with an incredibly explosive performance. The match between these two teams was held at the Dubai Cricket Stadium. In this match, Gladiators gave a furious performance against Qalandars and set a target of 132 runs.
Despite their full efforts, Qalandars could not fully chase the run. After scoring 128 runs, Qalandars could not advanced any further. Clearly, this match was completely in the Gladiators favor with 136 scores.

[ad_1] Sunil Narine in the practice session for KKR ahead of the IPL 2025 (PC: Debasis Sen) The IPL 2024 ended on May 26. Since then, Sunil Narine has spent his time plying his trade in different T20 leagues, probably collecting his thoughts on a Rs 12-crore retention fee and how to catch the opponents in a spin web, yet again, in this year’s Indian Premier League. The small matter of a T20 World Cup that was played in the United States and the Caribbean last year didn’t woo him enough to come out with his international retirement. Narine is 36. But Kolkata Knight Riders were always going to retain him irrespective of his age. His presence gives the team a supercilious (not in a negative sense) aura, be it in the Powerplay (if needed), middle-overs and/or at the death. When Narine is not taking wickets, he is effecting a spin-choke, making even the biggest hitters in the game gasping for runs unless he is having a bad day. The hard numbers say the Trinidadian has gone wicketless in six of his last 10 T20 matches. From KKR management’s perspective, this shouldn’t be worth even a cursory look. Narine is a different beast in the IPL. KKR played ‘total cricket’ last season to win the title. Bowling-wise, it was the year of Varun Chakravarthy’s resurgence, Harshit Rana’s emergence, Andre Russell’s wicket-taking impact and Mitchell Starc’s firepower, especially at the back end of the tournament. And yet, Narine made the biggest impact, claiming 17 wickets in 14 innings at an economy rate of 6.69, and scoring 488 runs at a strike-rate of 180.74. More on his batting later. Usually a bowler loses his mojo after remodelling his action. Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal is a strong case in point. Once he was forced to alter his bowling action after it was reported in 2014, Ajmal lost his cutting edge. An early retirement ensued. Relearning the art of spin bowling is almost an improbable job, for it’s very difficult to erase things from the system that are internalised. Narine remains an aberration. He has remodelled his action several times since 2014-15, when he was first reported in the IPL and international cricket. From then to the IPL 2020, he was reported six times and with every comeback he lost a bit of mystery before being demystified completely. Now the batsmen don’t struggle to read him, but they still can’t get the better of him. Trying to force the pace, they lose their wickets, as Narine revels in his impeccable control. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Sunil Narine at the Eden Gardens ahead of the IPL 2025 (PC: Debasis Sen) The spinner in his latest avatar doesn’t run through a side. Rather it is death by strangulation and KKR will hope that the process remains unhindered in this year’s IPL as well. Over to Narine the batsman, and perfecting the art of Hail Mary hitting, without ever thinking about getting out. He doesn’t put a price tag on his wicket, which makes the whole thing uncomplicated. Narine needed someone to understand his game, his philosophy towards cricket to be precise. In Gautam Gambhir he got a perfect mentor, who gave him the licence to fail. “GG coming back, he gave me the confidence and assurance that I can open the batting and do a good job,” Narine had said during last year’s IPL. Gambhir has left for greener pastures since, to coach India. But as a new season is about to commence, KKR’s template remains unchanged. Narine will open for the innings, with Quinton de Kock very likely partnering him. Assessing Narine’s current form, both with bat and ball, would be an exercise in futility though, for there is nothing on display as yet. He didn’t play KKR’s first intra-squad game, while rain played spoilsport in the second. But the team’s self-effacing hero is spending extra hours at the nets, turning up for practice sometimes even an hour before the scheduled training sessions. It is that time of the year when he develops the habit of making the ball talk. Also Read: Mumbai Indians: Can the Five-Time Champions End Their Title Drought?

Saeed Ajmal, the former Pakistan bowler, has said that return of cricket behind closed doors would be similar to playing deaf cricket. The 42-year-old reckons that playing in front of the empty stands would make things boring for a player and there could be lack of motivation as well.
