Also how what a lovely moment, where Sakura reflects on the sakura blossoms themselves and tries to word how they make her feel and why, after everything she's been through - only to have her thoughts of the past immediately interrupted by the literal thing she was thinking of burst into her life once more.

Sakura and Syaoran are the literal definition of a power couple and a prime example of how to write a "strong independent girl boss" while giving them a strong male love interest they don't have to dumb down in order to make her look better in comparison.

(It's been like 2 decades and I'm still not over these matching battle outfits.)

How come even back in the 90s/00s they knew how to do this right and now in modern media they act like they're such "groundbreakers" for doing the bare minimum of having a female main character they only know how to make strong/smart by making everyone else around her weaker/dumber.

Okay I made some slight adjustments to this year's Clamp Day art cause it just bothered me a lot and yeah it was a very rushed job that day which didn't have time to marinate and figure out how to leisurely fix things

Most things are intact and the same but mainly went at the faces with reshaping and liquify and there's a bit more soul in them now lol

Sakura and Syaoran being a prime example "their kindness inspires you to be kinder".

I mean, Syaoran was never a bad kid (the flashback with Meiling proves this), but he was very grumpy and quick to pick fights over things. He felt like a rival to Sakura for the Clow Cards (and Yukito), so that's how he acted, but was always taken aback by how Sakura kept being kind to him and offering him friendship.

And especially rewatching the episodes really reminded me how gradual and natural it progresses and doesn't feel like it came out of nowhere, because even from his first episode Syaoran already didn't want actual harm to come to Sakura.

Sakura improved Syaoran, but not even in a "I can fix him" kinda way, instead because Syaoran genuinely wanted to do better inspired by Sakura's kindness. Though, I guess it's more a case of bringing Syaoran's true self to the surface, because this boy had so many walls up when they first met.
