we went to a bigger flea market in the city today, I've never been to this one and it was good! I bought seven records 😌
#that is HUGE. at all the flea markets and second hand shops I've ever been to all the records were 1. very old and 2. very German#which I am not interested in#okay there's a lot of classical music too. but I don't care about that either#but this guy had a lot of good stuff. most of the ones I wanted were super expensive so I didn't get those#but still! really cool. I got a bunch of alan parsons project records. and a couple manfred mann's earth band ones#and the guy asked about my toto shirt 😌😌😌 nice#also bought one more from a very old guy who was really cool#so yeah this was great#personal

Man, talking to people that aren't buried in queer and furry culture like I am is such a good way to keep myself grounded. Like, one of my friends just asked me what a catboy or dogboy was (I made bead bracelets a long time ago saying those) and that gave me the chance to stop and think what I want those terms to mean for myself. Sometimes it's cool to have someone who just knows and understands, but other times it's super cool having folk around me that don't get it first try, no matter how weird that might sound to say.
#reminds me of when a friend J didn't understand my gender and asked me to explain#first of all I'm always down for a good infodump but that gave me the chance to sit and think what my gender actually means to me#I'm so used to expecting being ignored when folks don't understand that it always throws me off a bit#but I like getting to define terms for myself#(but also sometimes it's wonderful not having to explain—like one of my friends just came out as genderfluid and so I got to tell them abou#how my gender is technically fluid because I know they understand instead of me getting stuck just explaining how I'm nonbinary)#anywayss cool thoughts#btw just finished moving in and having my first classes this semester - they're super cool and I might totally die of overwork this time LO#love my classes <3 all except my group-based computing classes I still don't know if I hate y'all or not#I just watched a movie for my Spanish class and it almost made me cry right before classes (if you know Roma you know)#but life's been good so far 😌#fenn rambles#a glimpse into my real life lol#J friend jumpscare#A friend <3

today i rented a guitar.
#i think im worried about going into a bad headspace again this summer because summer is kind of a tricky time for that#i dont like not being at school#i think i always need to be doing something#so i rented a guitar from the music store and im going to attempt to learn over the summer#i was noodling around for like an hour and it sounds so relaxing#ive been “playing” ukulele for a few years now and its a lot trickier than ukulele because there's more strings but knowing how its mapped#out from already knowing how a ukulele works is super helpful#its nice having something to work on for the next little while#but im more excited about the prospect of just having been able to do that#like i walked into the store and went “i wanna rent a guitar” and the dude was like “how old r u” and i went “twenty"#and then i filled out the paperwork and now i just have a guitar#and it only cost like 20 bucks#thats so cool to me#idk i guess they're just little things that remind me that being an adult is scary but it can also be kind of fun? you kind of realize that#when everyone else tells you that you have free will now it doesnt just mean being able to drive whereever you want whenever you want#it means being able to rent things and stuff too#and having the authority to say “i would like to do this” and being totally allowed to do it (within ethical boundaries ofc ofc 😌😌😌)#its like...deeper than the kind of rebelliousness of driving past midnight or getting tattoo or driving to a bar#its a weird sense of control thats oddly reassuring#delete later probably#tig rants

i went to a local record store today looking for the new faces release and the owner was so nice, and also apparently got scolded by rod stewart a few months ago over a pizza with a photo to prove it because that happens to everyone yeah

#im feeling happier than i have in years!!#i love tattoo culture a lot and this specific studio is PERFECT for me#there's three other people working there which is honestly a perfect amount. i don't get overwhelmed but i can still be social#and like. one of them is a cool as shit woman who also hosts queer kink events and is as neck deep in fandom culture as i am#one is a guy running on three redbulls/hour and has a need to draw dicks EVERYWHERE. he also has a rainbow skull called princess skulldaddy#and my mentor is the kindest person ever even tho she pretends to be a grouchy old woman#she is already super protective over me and when i was complaining that i can't glare at people effectively enough she was like#'awww but it's good that you're so sweet! never let people take that quality from you' and i was like cool thanks im gonna cry#also I've annoyed her into listening to my favorite bands! yesterday st aurora started playing in the studio so i naturally went '👀!!!'#and she was like 'that's right you fucking bastard you've convinced me to join your cult' 😌#also the clients are really cool too!!#also also the studio is a sponsor for helsinki pride and we're gonna have a queer book club and wine & create evening etc and AHHHHHH#and it's right by the sea at the PRETTIEST place with a lot of trees and boats and swans and god i got so lucky like? am i dreaming??#i get to make art be gay as hell learn tattooing and chat with really cool and nice people all day genuinely what could be better#personal

okaaaayyy finally watched I saw the tv glow :^)
#liked it a lot on a lot of levels. visuals n soundtrack n acting was great. rly subtle n cohesive n effective#i wanna sit with it a little to digest it and maybe rewatch#but unfortunately i didnt get the same emotional resonance a lot of ppl did from it.. possibly bc i was watching w other ppl#but i dont think its that i think i just struggle to connect meaningfully w things that are like. what if the choices u didnt make#alienated u from the world and ur sense of self n what if the life u were living was a hollow bubble separate from the real world etcetc#bc like yeah man im very aware of how unreal my life n the world around me feels at times. and it isnt bc im holding myself within#tight limitations/constraints in order to hide parts of me from myself or forcing myself to be smth im not in order to engage w society#like im just mentally ill n the dissociation n derealisation are symptoms of that..#i can 100% understand why so many queer ppl feel so strongly abt it n the gender stuff implied in it#but thats just not my experience of queerness personally. its never been smth ive had to grapple with much#like yeah i havent fully figured out my gender shit. but im ok w that its not holding me back from living the life i want to be living#my sense of self is just so far divorced from my physical body and the physical world around me..... idk im too tired to articulate this#but that aside i did rly like it as a movie! and it was very heartbreaking.. just not in a way that struck me super personally#which i was rly hoping it would ahh sorry everyone 😔 but hey maybe thatll come after i think abt it some more#lots of cool effects too i liked the different ways they did the moon face thing. i liked how effective the whole distortion of memory#and nostalgia etc was done visually.. aesthetically very yummy. aw man..#i didnt even cry i was rly hoping it would make me cry...... :-(#makes me feel like im missing out on smth cuz everyone else ive seen talk abt it got hit so hard by it#just made my peace w being on the outside looking in i guess.. i shook out all my regrets and what-couldve-beens as a depressed teen#n now im just here to vibe forever..... 😌 i am toooooo tired to be typing i just keep saying the same thing over an dover probably#maybe a 7 or 8 out of 10 movie for me i think which is still pretty damn worth it#okayyy brushing my teeth and going to bed cuz i wanna go climbing tomorrow so need to rest up ‼️#sorry i dont want to rain on anyones parade genuinely did think it was a great movie im glad others are feeling it so intensely#ahhhh!!!!#.diaries

The worst part about being out of state is that I actually want to write but I don't have the time or brain power or anything to allow me to do so except on my phone which I don't prefer 🥲
