i get how you like hearing abt how ppl got into dnp . cus theres SO many different experiences , its really cool

mine was just seeing dans video about suki in 2014 cus it was recommended to me, and i watched a few of his videos cus he was pretty funny . i watched dan alot more than phil (if i had my old youtube account id probablt be able to see when i subbed to them but sadly i deleted it in a manic episode few years ago😭) occasionally when the two of then would pop up on my recommended id watch it but i wasnt into them as much as i was other youtubers (i was very into pewds and mark and jack at that time)

their gaming channel was recommended to me (portal blindfolded) and i think then i started watching their gaming alot more than their own/joint fun videos LOL

thru those years it was kind of just a tame likeness for them and their content . when their hiatus happened i kind of stopped watching them other than when id see a new video . and then the gaming channel came back and Oh Boy! this is the first time ive actively involved myself with the phandom im surprised i didnt years ago u guys r so nice and cutesy 🫶

Oh wow that’s super interesting!!! Wild that you kinda stayed at the sidelines for like 9 years but honestly it’s probably for the better cause shit was wild! I was a lurker until 2018 so I didn’t get super involved either but I did see a lot of the 2015/2016 behaviour hahah!

Anyway I agree the phandom is a really lovely place now :) it’s the one fandom I can come to where there’s barely any drama and it’s so relaxing!!! Glad you were able to join at this moment in time haha

Pew Die Pie is a Swedish man that has spent his career doing his best to connect communities. He was so popular in fact that when he took on T Series for first to 100 Mil subs, A behemoth company that is effectively and umbrella for DOZENS of types of media, even people in India wanted him to get there first. A LOT in fact.

Also the fact that he is Swedish means a lot because words to not have the same sentiment, or meaning, or IMPLICATION in general there that it does here. Pewds is in his 30's I believe and grew up on CoD and Halo gaming lobbies. The N word was one almost everyone used. Even if they refuse to admit to you that they did, there's a 98% chance if you played those games as a teen in their prime, you have used some pretty fucked up language. In a time when counterculture was trying to get people to be significantly less sensitive. IE: Anti PC Culture. PC meaning "Politically Correct".

But let's address the points of "-and/or not a part of the communities he assaulted-".

First of all, go fuck yourself. Assaulted does not mean what you clearly think it means because Pewds is one of the most tepid non aggressive people online at all, and has been off of Twitter for a LONG TIME now.

And his audience when he started off, was actually younger boys. 10-16 as he himself was younger and that was his humor. He has since mellowed out a LOT vs how he used to be, is married, has 3 dogs he cares for deeply, and a son now.

But to parrot another post above me, if you don't believe saying sorry is ever good enough unless you dick suck WORSHIP the "Alliance" you people have created, and even then often it's never enough. Once you, "slight the oppressed" as it were, you decide they should be removed from polite society. Except you people never stop purging those you don't like or don't agree with. So why should anyone become a better person. What's the gain? To be constantly berated and targeted and treated as lesser than while worshipping another type of person based on immutable traits?

NAH fuck that. If you want to the world to be a worse place stand by those values. But know this. YOU are the one that made it worse having these Ass backwards beliefs. And I hope one day the mob cancels you and that the big umbrella DOESN'T take you in. That you end up isolated and alone to realize the monster you actually are believing that the people you don't like are beyond forgiveness and that words are somehow tantamount to Assault, when nothing Pewds has ever said IN CONTEXT could be passed off as wanting to hurt literally anyone.

The less loaded opinion is that he isn’t funny or entertaining, but that’s not the opinion most people are looking for.

The more loaded opinion is that whether or not he legitimately holds nazi beliefs or not is not important, because he enables them within his fanbase and repeatedly takes actions that appeal specifically to them, and when called out for it he just kinda goes “whaaaaaaaat yeah okay lol“ and then they feel more empowered.

So the most charitable read I could give is that he is dangerously irresponsible. Huge pile of shit regardless

[That depends. With how YouTube is today, you are a slave to the algorithm. You have to keep pumping out content daily or by-daily in order for your content to remain pushed to viewers to get that sweet AdSense and sub count. Knowing how I am, I'm not even gonna attempt to try doing that, even if I did have the opportunity, I rather play games and do so for others to enjoy than feel the need to constantly feed the machine. So, making a living on YouTube is doable provided you can bring in the numbers and keep it going steadily. People like Pewds, Mark, MatPat, and the Grumps are pretty much set because their channels allowed them enough success that they can afford to expand into other fields outside of making videos.]

YouTube (Kodoku’s Lilacs, The Life of a Flowstar, No. 134)

As I've been getting older, I've started to drift away from playing video games, since they weren't hitting as hard as when I was younger. Instead, I tend to watch YouTube videos, I seem to be more of a watcher than a doer, which I kinda don't like. Don't get me wrong, I love the creators on the platform, I just happen to lose motivation into playing video games. I'll still play them then and there, I haven't fully quit games, I still gotta beat RDR2 lol.

My favorite creators atm are Jacksepticeye, Jev, PopularMMOs, and Pewdiepie. Except for Jev, I actually watched all these creators when I was younger, back when PopularMMOs wasn't arrested, Pewds was at 50 million subs, and when Jack had green hair, good times. I found Jev later on, I believe late 2020, and he's been one of my favorite YouTubers since because his content is funny and relatable. There's probably a few more that I watch that I haven't mentioned, but those are the main ones and they're the best for me, guess it's time to go watch them again lol. Until then, have a good day!
