DPI, KSEEB seek co-operation of educational institutions for successful conduct of SSLC examination - Times of India

MANGALURU: With Karnataka High Court upholding decision of department of public instruction to conduct SSLC examination, Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board has begun preparations in right earnestness to conduct it in safe environment in present Covid19 situation. The high court has disposed a public interest litigation filed on the need for SSLC examination, minister for primary and secondary education S Suresh Kumar said.

Underscoring importance of these examination in the lives of students, the minister in a letter to heads of educational institutions sought their cooperation for its smooth conduct from June 25 to July 4. Many organisations have joined hands with the government and KSEEB for the successful conduct of the examination including Bharat Scouts and Guides – Karnataka, he said adding even private organisations are playing their role in this regard.

The department intends to provide minimum of 2 masks to each student. KSEEB will provide thermal scanners at each of the examination centre and will arrange to conduct their health check-up, minister said. Despite all the precautions that the department and KSEEB is taking, role of heads of educational institutions too is vitally important and they should come forward to provide the basic minimum needs for the students appearing for the examination,

The steps that need to be taken include ensuring that each student is seated at least a metre apart in the examination centre and maintain social distancing while entering and exiting the hall. Students with visible signs of discomfort due to fever will be allotted a separate room and hence additional rooms need to be kept ready. The educational institutions should coordinate well in advance with health department to facilitate health check up of students, he noted.

The institutions too should play a proactive role in ensuring that students of migrant labourers appear for these vital examinations at their centre based on requests given by such students. Reminding the educational institutions that these steps need to be taken up on a war footing, the minister said their cooperation will go a long way in ensuring that the examinations are held in a favourable atmosphere in these extraordinary of situations.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

(Get Direct Admission in IFIM Law School for 2020 Batch, Get Direct Admission Top 10 Law Colleges Delhi for 2020 Session)

Candidate     should have passed +2/PUC or equivalent with a minimum of 45% marks. 5% relaxation     is given to SC/ST candidates. The study criteria should belong to 10/SSLC,     +2/PUC pattern. The applicant who has passed the prescribed minimum     qualification in single sitting examination without having basic     qualification is not eligible for admission for 5 years BBA, LL.B. course.

Be or be     less than twenty years in case of general category of applicants and less     than twenty two years in the case of applicants from SC, ST and other     backward communities as on 25th April, 2020.
