drew all 4 ships in pikmin!!!!! and including small descriptions of their personalities nd some facts perhaps
Hocotate Ship
•Sassy. Greedy. Self-centred. Petty. A bitch
•Easily the oldest of the ships by far
•Tinkers with making its own inventions and machinery. One could classify it as a spaceship mad scientist in that way
SS Dolphin
•Very nice and helpful but gets frustrated very fast. Violent urges galore
•Communicates non-verbally, using sign language and also its security system computer
•Picks favourites. Olimar is its favourite. Maybe has even met his family before !!
SS Drake
•Has no personality AI
•Technically youngest of the ships, made only for the Koppai scouting expedition
•Would probably turn Louie into juice at the first chance it gets
SS Dolphin II
•Looks like Shaggy Scooby Doo. Has the personality of Fred Scooby Doo
•Sibling-like bond with the original Dolphin
•Copes its way through life with an ‘it is what it is’
#faustart#pikmin#pikmin 2#pikmin 3#hey! pikmin#hocotate ship#ss dolphin#ss drake#ss dolphin II#these designs should be set#if i change them again…#don’t let me

hey pikmin does NOT deserve the hate wtfff this game is PRECIOUS to ME ❗
the music is SO GOOD OMG. first on this list because like OH MY GODD i keep just putting my 2ds down for a while to listen to it its just so. sooo lovely and peaceful and strikingly nostalgic for a game ive never played before lol
the pikmin have so much personality in this game?? the lil cutscenes, the way they interact with olimar + each other, their animations for like. jumping on the dandelions and fire and such, the pikmin park..
the levels are fun and challenging yet they are also simple and accessible enough that i dub hey pikmin as a PERFECT relaxing game for a long day of, for example, six hours at work on top of six hours at school. based on personal experience 😬👍
all the models are Wuite cute. olimar looks VERY silly especially during the special cutscenes inside the dolphin ii
speaking of. i reaaaally like the ss dolphin ii i think it is sillay. perhaps one of my favorites. BUT. no ship beats the hocotate ship of course
im no game design prodigy but like. considering you only use the circle pad and stylus plus the two on-screen buttons? the devs did well with including fun (aaand sometimes annoying tbh) mechanics consistently so gameplay doesnt get dull.
also replaying levels is pretty much what you're INTENDED to do which i find fun. go through to unlock all treasures, get more pikmin, more sparklium etc
well shit i just realized you get a little reward/special border for completing a level without losing any pikmin. which i have managed to do. like twice. fuck my obsession with 100%ing viddy games 😬💥
anyways ive just gotten to sector six sooo back to it !!! point is do not believe the haters. if ever you have an opportunity to try out hey pikmin then TAKE IT. its certainly not perfect BUT ! its sweet and entertaining and that seems perfect for a spinoff imho
#not art#pikmin#whateva#maybe im seeing with rose tinted glasses#since i am in a VERYYY stressful time in life#but ehh.. i will still vouch for it. go play hey 🫵👍🗮#just my two cents for anyone who enjoys pikmin but was on the fence#the overwhelmingly negative reviews simply seem to be from people who wanted a#new PROPER pikmin game at the time#since at that point it had been. five years since pik3 released#which actually seems more than reasonable but i digress#i wish viddy games took a long time to ocme out like they used to 👴#QUALITY OVER QUANTITY#anyways. back on the grind chat byee

have some stuff abt the “character d is the ss drake’s ai” au if you want
character d’s name is still del as in most of my aus, he alternates between he/him and any gender-neutral pronouns. it’s still unclear to the koppaites if del was always a part of the drake’s ai and was only activated recently due to their current dire circumstances or if the ship’s just haunted.
initially, del’s analyses/notes are very straightforward (to the point of being indistinguishable from the ones given by the drake in canon). as the events of the story progress, their communications with their crew slowly become more personalized. they’re still not as expressive as the hocotate freight ship or the dolphin ii, but it’s clear that they care about their crew and home as much as an ai/ghost possible can.
del has limited control of some of the drake’s features and can move objects if they’re not too heavy (ie. disposing of empty juice bottles and moving louie if he’s in an inconvenient spot), but he’s otherwise completely dependent on the ship’s crew for most of the drake’s functions.
louie immediately caught on that something was off about the ship and decided it was haunted. the koppaites didn’t believe him until they compared observations, since louie’s a strange guy by default and he wasn’t making much sense to them at the time anyway.
on the subject of louie, he and del have something of a rivalry. louie’s deeply freaked out by the idea of staying in a haunted ship and del finds him annoying and inconsiderate (not helped by him stealing the juice supply).

Meet the sons of former NFL players taking over the 2021 draft class
Want to feel old? The 2021 draft is filled with sons of NFL players you used to watch.
There’s a not-so-fun cycle of being a sports fan. As a kid, your idols are all adults — viewed from far away, and serving as inspiration. The next jump happens in college, when suddenly players entering the league are your age, and it’s kind of neat. In your early twenties it’s still fun, and people slightly younger than you are becoming superstars.
The pivot begins in your late 20s. At this point you suffer the crippling weight of realization that players destined to be millionaires will be more financially successful than you ever will, and they’re a decade younger than you. Now, I’m reaching the final stage: Hilarity. This is when the players you watched as a kid have their own children entering the league. A grim realization of the unstoppable passage of time,
And on that cheery note, I’d like you to share in my grim existential crisis by learning about all the players entering the 2021 NFL Draft who had parents you watch play years ago, and some who entered the league in recent years you may have missed. It’s my hope that you’ll feel terrible about all this when it’s over, because misery loves company.
Patrick Surtain II, CB — Alabama
The highest-rated prospects of the NFL children this class, Patrick Surtain II is, you guessed it, the son of Patrick Surtain. Surtain Sr. played 10 years in the NFL at cornerback for the Dolphins and Chiefs, being named to the All-Pro team in 2002 and 2003.
Surtain Sr. was a highly-rated small-school prospect when he entered the league out of Southern Miss, but his son is a very different player at the same point in his career. A five star recruit who played for Alabama, Surtain II has prototypical size for the modern cornerback position at 6’2, 202 pounds — and is expected to be one of the first defensive backs off the board in the draft.
Unlike his father, who needed to prove himself in the NFL, Surtain II will be expected to enter the league from day one, not just as one of the best defensive backs on his team, but ready to take on a leadership position.
Will he be better than dad?
It’s likely. That’s not a knock on Patrick Surtain Sr, but rather an acknowledgment of just how incredible Surtain II is. Yes, he was on a dominant Alabama team, but between his time in Tuscaloosa and his tutelage under his father we’re going to see a monster in the NFL.
Asante Samuel Jr, CB — Florida State
When you talk about a chip off the old block, this is one heck of a father-son comparison. Asante Samuel Jr. is the exact same height as his dad, and just one pound lighter than his father’s playing weight.
Once seen as a lock first round pick, Samuel Jr. has fallen a little down draft boards after putting in an excellent, but not transcendent final season for the Seminoles, but he’ll still be selected on day two, no question. There are still things he needs to learn to become a true force in the NFL, but that’s really appropriate, considering his dad did the same.
While Asante Samuel was drafted by the Patriots and played four years in New England, most remember him for his time in Philadelphia. The prize of the 2008 free agency class, Samuel quickly signed with the Eagles and became one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.
For three straight years he was named to the Pro Bowl, making the All-Pro team in two of these years. A big-play, ball-hawking cornerbacks, Samuel wasn’t just known for locking down top receivers, but absolutely turning games with big-time interceptions that teams crave.
Will he be better than dad?
Asante Samuel was one of the best defensive players in the entire league for a good chunk of his career. There’s possibility here, but it will require a little humility from Samuel Jr, and a willingness to learn the finer points of playing cornerback in the NFL.
Jaycee Horn, CB — South Carolina
This is a fun case of seeing a son completely flip positions from his father. Everyone knows the great Joe Horn, who played wide receiver in the NFL from 1996-2007, most notably with the New Orleans Saints, but Jacee Horn has become a force of a cornerback at South Carolina.
Similar to Asante Samuel Jr, Horn was once seen as a first round lock but has been sliding lower with concerns whether his game was too based on the ability to make contact with receivers in the college game, which may not translate to the NFL. That sounds a lot more dire than it really is, because Horn will be a day two pick for sure — and would likely start for most teams in the NFL from the jump.
It’s going to be interesting to see how Jaycee adapts to the NFL. Here’s a kid who, presumably, spent many of his formative years covering his dad. That will be interesting to watch. The biggest tragedy of Joe Horn’s career is that he caught on too late. After languishing on the Chiefs’ special teams unit for years, it wasn’t until he arrived on the Saints that he showed his potential — often playing much larger than his 6’1 frame would suggest. A jump ball master, Horn would out-muscle smaller DBs and come down with ball, being a nightmare matchup for opposing defensive coordinators.
Will he be better than dad?
That’s a difficult question considering they play different positions. Joe Horn was a four time Pro Bowler for the Saints, and probably deserved more than he ended up getting — but everything is really on Jaycee Horn as he develops in the NFL. If the metric we’re using is Pro Bowl appearances and All-Pro teams he certainly has a chance, because his dad felt so often like he was on the outside looking in.

V-boats (left to right): Cachalot, Dolphin, Barracuda, Bass, Bonita, Nautilus, Narwhal, with submarine tender Holland.
The V-boats were a group of nine United States Navy submarines built between World War I and World War II from 1921 to 1934. These were not a ship class in the usual sense of a series of nearly identical ships built from the same design, but shared authorization under the "fleet boat" program. The term "V-boats" as used includes five separate classes of submarines. They broke down into three large, fast fleet submarines (V-1 through V-3), three large long-range submarines (V-4 through V-6), and three medium-sized submarines (V-7 through V-9). The successful fleet submarines of World War II (Tambor class through Tench class) were descended from the last three, especially V-7, though somewhat larger with pure diesel-electric propulsion systems.
Originally called USS V-1 through V-9 (SS-163 through SS-171), in 1931 the nine submarines were renamed Barracuda, Bass, Bonita, Argonaut, Narwhal, Nautilus, Dolphin, Cachalot, and Cuttlefish, respectively. All served in World War II, six of them on war patrols in the central Pacific. Argonaut was lost to enemy action.

An Eye Witness Account On the Sinking Of The U.S. Aircraft CArrier Yorkton During World War II https://ift.tt/31Li7y9
National Interest: See This Picture? This Aircraft Carrier Was Sunk (A Member of the Crew Told Us How) A real tragedy. I still couldn’t get over it myself. I mean, Siwash was senior to most of the other quartermasters—probably the smartest, too—but he was not an officer. He was an enlisted man—a petty officer, second class––the same as me. I saw nothing unusual when the first fighter plane came in. The airdales [sailors on an aircraft carrier whose job involves working with aircraft] towed it forward; the pilot was still in the cockpit when the next plane approached the stern. After working in a Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp in Idaho, Ray Daves enlisted in the Navy in the spring of 1938 and reported for basic training the following year. He was at Pearl Harbor, serving at Pacific Fleet Headquarters as a radioman, when the Japanese attacked; he was wounded in the hand. Afterward, he requested sea duty on a warship and was assigned to the submarine Dolphin (SS-169), on which he served one war patrol before being reassigned as a radioman second class aboard the aircraft carrier Yorktown (CV-5). Saint Seiya - Bronzini Sfigati Vol. 3 : ‘Above the Skies of Salamis’ by Sekishiki
“ Illustration for the fanfic parody “Saint Seiya - Loser Bronze Saints” Vol.3 by the friend Lameks!
September 480 b.C., Persian Invasion II of Greece. Athena’s Greek army faces Ares’ Persian troops. After the contemporary battles fought at Thermopylae and Cape Artemision, the final clash happens next to Salamis Isle, wreaking havoc both in the seas and the… skies! Shortly before the battle, the Aeginetics send a ship to Aegina to bring the effigies of their patron Aiacos. But the one arising upon the battlefield on his flying combat ship is Garuda Aiacos in person. The Aeginetics honor Aiacos presenting him the Gold Saint Capricorn Pytheas, a stump-man after the Persian massacre at Skiathos Isle. Pytheas, who’s always dreamt to literally become a sharp blade, finally reaches his lifetime aim: Aiacos promises to turn him into the “Eclipse Calibur”, the Underworld King’s Sword. Gold Saint Sagittarius Eurybiadés, highest navarchus of the Greek fleet, secretly seizes the Hope Ship Argo which, unled by Silver Saint Argo Navis Sophanés’ chosmos, turns to an infernal ship itself, absorbing life energy form Eurybiadés’ men and converting it into cannon shots. The sacrificial Bronze Saints’ chosmos of each ship clash in the skies: Lynx and Delphinus VS Rangifer and Dorado. A flying battleship starts: the now Despair Ship Argo VS Aiacos’ Infernal Ship In the meantime the Greek triremes draw their enemies into Salamis narrow waters, where the huge Persian navy gets dangerously stuck. Not far away, Gold Saint Pisces Adeimantus, the Corinthian greedy and coward commander, slips away on his ship to go enjoying the many silver talents Aquarius Themistocles paid him at Cape Artemision battle to buy his loyalty… _______________________ Many Saints join the cast of SS Lambda, and some of them have never been shown. In this case, unlike we did with the Serpent Saint, we decided to choose some characters from other Saint Seiya products, both because the’y re barely background characters and to link all the series (we’ve already tributed Episode G, Lost Canvas and Soul of Gold with images from Vol.2): Lynx from Episode G again, Delphinus/Dolphin from Lost Canvas (anime), Rangifer/Reindeer from SS Online and Dorado from Omega. As usual we’re faithful to the manga style cloths, that’s why I little simplified Dolphin and Dorado cloths to draw them near to the Bronze cloths we used to know in the Galaxian Wars. As a matter of fact the Reindeer cloth, wore by a female Saint, is much more covering instead, as for Chamaeleon June. For the ships details please check here Stay tuned and... have patience with me!!! ” - Sekishiki

Best Dive and Topside Destinations
Scuba diving has long been the domain of adventure-seekers and adrenaline junkies. Luckily, many of the world’s best scuba destinations also offer topside adventure. If you, too, thrive on the extraordinary, each of these countries is an excellent spot to get the most out of your vacation. Here we’ll look at five of the best dive and topside destinations, defined not only by their world-class dive sites, but also by terrestrial adventures to match.
Indonesia
Bromo volcano at sunrise
Underwater
This nation comprised of more than 17,000 islands boasts some of the best dive sites on the planet. Some highlights of this spectacular archipelago include the wreck of the USAT Liberty in Tulamben, Bali, Komodo National Park and Lembeh Strait. The Liberty was an American cargo ship that saw action during both World War I and II before succumbing to Japanese torpedo fire off the Balinese coast in January 1942. Nowadays the ship is an impressive (and popular) dive site, accessible to divers of all certification levels. Komodo National Park is famous for its teeming reefs and magnificent pelagic encounters, including reliable manta sightings year-round. If you’re more into macro, head to Lembeh Strait, the muck-diving capital of the world. Here, you’ll see rare species including tiny cephalopods, pygmy seahorses and frogfish on a daily basis.
Topside
Indonesia’s rugged landscape is home to 13 percent of the world’s volcanoes so mountain climbing attracts adrenaline junkies. Two of the archipelago’s most impressive peaks are Mount Bromo and Mount Rinjani. Indonesia is a favorite among surfers as well. Each of its main islands provides ample waves for everyone from absolute beginners to pros. Indonesia is also filled with weird and wonderful wildlife. Adventure-seekers will find no greater terrestrial thrill searching for rare species like the endemic Komodo dragon, found only on Komodo and Rinca Islands within the eponymous park. The orangutan population has faced decimation largely due to our consumption of palm oil, but you can still find some of these beautiful creatures in the jungles of Indonesian Borneo.
Costa Rica
Irazú Volcano
Underwater
Costa Rica has always featured highly on adventuresome divers’ bucket lists. A wealth of dive sites litter both its Pacific and Caribbean coasts, not to mention the legendary Cocos Island. On the mainland, Isla Murcielagos, or Bat Islands, offer perhaps the country’s most exciting dive sites. Here, divers have the chance to get up close with the resident bull sharks. Cocos Island, though, is in a class of its own, and is well worth the 300-mile journey from the mainland. Towering pinnacles emerge from the deep blue, creating great upwellings of nutrient-rich water. This, in turn, attracts a staggering amount of pelagic life. One never knows quite what to expect out in mid-ocean, but Cocos is particularly famous for its incredible shark sightings, boasting a plethora of different species. Whales, rays, dolphins and game fish are also common here.
Topside
Costa Rica’s magnificent beaches and lush rainforests provide opportunities for adventure at every turn. Canopy zip lining has become the defining pursuit of this country’s tropical interior. Whitewater rafting is also popular in Costa Rica, and one of the best places to try it is the beautiful (and in some places, intimidating) Pacuare River. There are plenty of opportunities for trekking too. Explore the elevated cloud forests of Monteverde in search of the elusive sloth. Scale Cerro Chirripo, the highest mountain in Costa Rica. On a clear day, climbers can see both coasts from Chirripo’s summit. Other Costa Rican adventures include windsurfing on Lake Arenal and surfing the beaches of Guanacaste province.
South Africa
Underwater
South African diving has to be some of the most adrenaline-fuelled on the planet, characterized by an abundance of seriously big sharks. In False Bay and Gansbaai, you can come face-to-face with great whites, but true adrenaline junkies are likely to prefer the shark-diving sites of Aliwal Shoal and Protea Banks. Here, divers can encounter tiger sharks, bull sharks and many other species outside of a cage, an experience that is both exciting and authentic. From June to July, South Africa is also home to the Sardine Run, quite possibly the most exciting marine wildlife phenomenon of all. During the run, countless sardines migrate north along a narrow corridor of cool Cape water in a gigantic bait ball. A melee of predators follows, including sharks, dolphins, seabirds, whales and game fish.

Game viewing in South Africa is both some of the best and most affordable on the continent. Self-drives are the best way to see the Big Five: lions, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes and elephants. South Africa is also home to the world’s highest bridge bungee jump, at Bloukrans Bridge on the border of the Eastern and Western Cape. South Africa is also blessed by endless stretches of isolated beach, perfect for horseback riding, blow-carting, surfing, stand-up paddle boarding and much, much more. For those who truly want to experience the best of both worlds while on vacation, this remarkable country is also home to Tiffindell, one of only two ski resorts in Southern Africa.
Egypt

The Red Sea is every diver’s dream, combining warm waters, unparalleled visibility, and thriving marine life. Liveaboards are the best way to make this dream a reality. Most itineraries focus either on the northern or the southern Red Sea. In the north, highlights include the Straits of Tiran and the Ras Mohammed National Park, both of which offer magnificent reefs that positively teem with life. In the south, a favorite site is Elphinstone Reef, famous for regular sightings of oceanic whitetips. Of the Red Sea’s many wrecks, the most famous is the SS Thistlegorm, sunk in 1941 by two German bomber planes.
There’s equally impressive wreck diving on the Dunraven, the Chrisoula K, the Carnatic, and Giannis D. The Red Sea is also home to one of the world’s deepest blue holes. Near Dahab, it’s accessible to recreational divers via the famous Bells to Blue Hole dive route.

Egypt is steeped in history and culture. Dramatic landmarks and natural features are a perfect playground for any intrepid traveler. Although the pyramids at Giza are undoubtedly the country’s most iconic feature, the Sinai desert also offers many opportunities for adventure. Quad-bike and 4×4 safaris are an excellent way to experience the desert in all its arid glory. For a more authentic taste of desert life, adventure-seekers should try a mounted camel-trek. You’ll see the desert’s spectacular dunes and canyons in much the same way as the Bedouin people have for thousands of years. Egypt is also home to the Nile. Although it is primarily the domain of larger cruise vessels, it is possible to go sailing on its historic waters.
Mexico
Ek’ Balam, Yucatan Peninsula
Underwater
When it comes to diving, few places in the world offer as much diversity as Mexico. From the colorful reefs of Cozumel to the high-octane pelagic action of the Revillagigedo Archipelago, Mexico offers something for every diver. Off the Yucatan Peninsula, Isla Mujeres acts as an aggregation site first for Atlantic sailfish between February and March, and later for whale sharks between May and September. On the west coast, Guadalupe Island offers the very best in great-white cage diving, combining crystal clear water with some breathtakingly huge sharks.
Socorro Island in the Revillagigedo Archipelago is also famous for its creature encounters. You can swim alongside manta rays, sharks and even humpback whales during their annual migration. The Yucatan also offers spectacular cenote diving, whereby qualified divers can explore the peninsula’s fascinating subterranean rivers. The Baja California peninsula offers more pelagic action at Gordo Bank, sea lion encounters at Los Islotes and reefs pulsing with life at Cabo Pulmo Marine Park.

On the mainland, Mexico’s terrestrial adventures are just as varied and exciting. The Yucatan’s subterranean rivers create intricate cave systems, which are perfect for spelunking and caving. The Cancun region is also famous for watersports of all kinds, particularly kitesurfing and parasailing. Mexico has a fascinating past, too. Adventure-seekers can experience a different kind of thrill as they explore the ruins of the Mayan civilization. Many of these ruins are still hidden within the tangle of the encroaching jungle, which makes a visit feel like traveling back in time. This country’s beautiful mountain regions also offer ample opportunity for outdoor adventures. Extreme kayaking, horseback riding and zip lining are just a few options.
