I really wanna see Player (from pappa grunt AU) bonding with their children, ya know, like Player playing with their kids or what their view on Player is lol.

Hank's Child:

How the Player bonds with Hank's kid is usually from sparring lessons or trying to show them the extent of just what they can summon using their powers. The child still prefers their father over the Player, but appreciates that the Player is still engaging with them and showing them how far their powers actually extend to. When the child is just a teenager, the Player allows them to go on missions with Hank, with a defined glare aimed at their lover to make sure the child stays SAFE while out on the mission. To which, the child grows from there in both skill and power. Hank shows the child how it’s done and the child does their best to mimic their father as close to perfection as they can. Once they grow into an adult, the Player couldn’t be happier for them and the child appreciates the Player for teaching them how to be just as strong as their father. From that moment on, a new much more powerful version of Hank Wimbleton began to paint the streets red.

Deimos's and Sanford's twins:

The twins LOVE the Player. Despite being the stricter parent, the Player loves the twins and does as many things as possible with their children. From teaching them how to cook or how to hone the use of their powers. Sanford's child is very handy in the kitchen and cooks with both parents (Player and Sanford) when it's time for dinner. Deimos's hyperactive kid is excited to learn more about their powers and is very adamant about learning to shoot fireballs, despite the fact that sometimes they catch things on fire. They are each a respective handful and get into trouble sometimes, but the Player and the twins have a great relationship overall.

Doc's Kid:

Similar to how Hank's kid behaves, the child seems to like their father more than the Player. But it doesn't mean they have a bad relationship. Once the baby actually gains their intelligence boost and magic attributes, the Player becomes more hands on with them to assist in controlling their powers much more effectively. The Player teaches them magic and gives them plenty of otherworldly guides and tomes to read while they sit underneath their father. When the child is older, they become rather gifted in magic and intelligence. Having both knowledge of the other worlds besides Nevada, from the tomes that the Player would give them. Once they reach their teen years, the child is now no longer attached to Doc's hip and confides in the Player. Both of them even go on otherworldly trips together to other dimensions so that their powers and understanding of the worlds around them grows.

Jeb's Child:

Jeb's child is close to both of their parents, Player is a primary figure when their father is out doing business elsewhere. They spend most of the time playing together with toys and learning how to utilize their powers for a greater good. The child is excellent in the ways of expanding their powers and understanding, as well as restraining their need to cause violence or utilize force. The Player and child are close and the Player always stresses to use their powers only when necessary. Once the child is older, they become Jeb's successor and they even manage to gain a following of rather devoted grunts. The Player and Jeb have a great relationship with the child, even further into adulthood.

Sheriff's Kid:

The Sheriff's kid was a lovable little deputy to the Player and would always try to mimic things their father did. Once the Sheriff was killed off by Hank, the child spent most of their childhood around the Player until the Sheriff came back from purgatory. As a sad result, the child and Sheriff have a slightly distant relationship until the day the child gains their autoaim ability, making them deadly. The family is reunited and grows closer as the child ages up. From getting them their first real horse companion on their 16th birthday until their early adult years. The Player still dotes on them from time to time, even when their child is one of the most deadliest bounty hunters in all of Nevada.

Tricky's Tricksters:

The tricksters favored Tricky far more than the Player, sadly. Which means that when it came to the children, the Player and Tricksters seemed to have a distant relationship. When they get older, they get rougher and pushy with the Player, until Tricky bites them or beats them up for actually trying to harm his lover. The tricksters eventually had to move out in their late teens because of their rebellious behavior to their parents, a choice that was hard to make for the Player. Tricky is confident that the kids would survive. They each had teleporting abilities and zed blood running through their veins. The children thrive, even without their parents in their lives. When they get older, they revisit home from time to time and the relationship between the Player and them improves. Just not enough to warrant them coming back under their roof. Tricky is known to hold grudges after all.

Auditor's child:

The child easily has a better relationship with the Player than their father. The Player is much more lax of a parent and encourages the child to meet with the agents and units of the AAHW to make friends. Meanwhile, the Auditor tries to encourage the child to become much more cruel and bossy to the units, encouraging supremacist behavior because they were a "god amongst gods". The Player always manages to pull the child to their side whenever morals are the concern and they even have a great relationship with Torture, playing and visiting him a lot while they were growing up and causing mischief. It becomes noticeably harder to visit their friends when they're an adult. Especially since they begin to perform trials and grow more and more with their powers and responsibilities. Even when they grow older, they still prefer the Player to the Auditor.

Phobos's godling:

The child of the Player and Phobos is nothing short of a little spoiled. Their father dotes on their every need and the child is very aware of their abilities to pull others around on their crimson strings. However, like a good mother pinching on the ear of a naughty child, the Player is very adamant and hands on about curbing such bad entitled behavior. Their relationship when the child is young is similar to Tom and Jerry. The Player always catches the child doing naughty things or bending others to their will, to which they take the appropriate disciplinary actions. When they get older, the rivalry dies down as the child becomes much more humbled and mellowed with age. They are still doted on, but they do so now with much more grace. The Player is just glad they don't have an entitled spoiled brat on their hands. When the child is older, they use their strings sparingly and they have a much more improved relationship with their parents.

i am curious. how does bank feel abt eb dating tricky in the dad au? bc clown does kill (or tries to kill) their dad like, all of the time, so i imagine it wouldnt be a smooth transition into the polycule esp if eb lives with them on base

See this is funny because like, long before Eb becomes a person that Bank is even aware of, PATHOS has already introduced this problem because Shes the one who's been with Tricky (and Jeb) prior to Eb ever getting involved with anyone lmao.

This'll be a background topic in this fic actually, but like, Pathos getting reintroduced into Hank and Bank's lives doesn't go very smoothly because Pathos isn't even aware of the fact that Banks her kid when she escapes The Other Place, she finds and gets back with Tricky and Jeb since she remembers that they were her partners when she was still at Nexus, and assumes Boxxy's the kid she had before she died for like 20 years. When she reconnects with SQ, she doesn't remember that she had a kid with Hank and that Bank is that kid, so that has to get sorted out before any polycule integration shit happens lmao

so this part tldr Its not a problem with Eb bc it was a problem that had to be sorted out before she ever got involved with anyone lol

the transition though was probably rough! Banks not afraid of Tricky or anything like that, she is uneasy that he's so hellbent on killing her dad so that makes it hard for her to be completley chill with him at first, but like, the boys have to sort shit out amongst themselves since they all want Pathos to still be with them. So something Does change eventually and by the time Eb comes into the picture Banks just chilling here seeing Tricky as like a weird but fine family friend

So when Eb comes in her problem isn't "Oh she's dating someone that my dad hates" its "oh my fucking god if I have another big change in my life again like my parents getting a new girlfriend I'm going to end it all" lmao

I feel like Jeb would try to like. Make them accept the reality of the situation and probably not realise that Hank is at least partly wilfully ignorant of the damage to his body

Like he doesn’t even try to help himself because to do that he’d have to accept that something is wrong and also have to be willing to let people help him

I think Jeb finds how little he seems to care more and more disturbing the more he opens up to viewing Hank as an actual person. Like why don’t you care. Why won’t you let anyone help you. You’re clearly not happy. It seems everyone but you can tell.

If through some bizarre series of events they came close to some sort of uneasy “friendship” he’d get more and more distressed by the things he did (it’s like the hof/tricky sitch in reverse!)

ALSO maybe not entirely relevant BUT if Jeb didn’t intervene in Hank going after sheriff some of the stuff Hank gets blamed for wouldn’t have happened (ofc Hank shouldn’t have. Started shit with sheriff but jebs presence made it WORSE.) If sheriff died in episode two because Jeb didn’t intervene the improbability drive wouldn’t have been activated and tricky probably wouldn’t be involved at all

You can actually trace most of hanks injuries indirectly back to Jeb even if he didn’t inflict them himself.

The Auditor was quick to take notice of the sudden change in your attitude and behavior. Regardless of how much you tried to play it off that you were okay, you were getting hot flashes on the regular, much more so than would occur normally. You were also suffering periodically from small feverish episodes here and there, which worried the Auditor to an uncomfortable extent.

So, to settle his nerves more than anything, he takes you to get you checked out by the local medical staff in the AAHW HQ where he is currently stationed. Then, much to his great joy and surprise, the news is given to you both that you were pregnant with the Auditor’s youngling.

The moment you both are alone again to soak in the news, his flames dance about in a happy way as he holds his player close to his body. He trills at his player in a positive manner as he couldn’t have been happier at that moment in time.

He never even thought that your races would even be able to produce offspring, let alone make a crossbreed. Especially since you were from a higher plane of power, but maybe there was a universal exception that allowed for higher gods to breed with lesser gods like him? Regardless, after months of secretly trying to make the player carry a successful child, his efforts have been realized and the fruits of his labor are starting to come into reality.

The SQ’s worst nightmare.

An employer with powers of the higher gods would be born and they would successfully snuff out any remaining resistance in Nevada and finally deal with that bothersome grunt, Hank J. Wimbleton. The Auditor merely holds his player close as his body surrounds theirs in a protective way. A silent promise to protect his player and unborn young from all that threatened them.

During the first trimester, the Auditor is in a surprisingly good mood most of the time. He reserves his happiest expressions for when he’s with his player and soon-to-be-born child as he works just like he did before. But that doesn’t mean he’s distant or estranged from his player. He’s already gaining a protective streak as his player is assigned 2 MAG agents to accompany them at all times, with prime directives to make sure that his player doesn’t come to harm and is without protection.

This doesn’t just extend to protective MAG agents, though. As the moment the Auditor suspects that Hank is around, he moves locations, taking his player with him.

He would sooner die than let Hank get anywhere close to his player, he wouldn’t allow it. He’s fully aware that Hank and the others are your ‘other vessels’, but you don't need them anymore. You chose him above all else and as a fellow god, it was a logical decision to stay with him and the other employers. You don’t have to deal with mortal scum like the members of SQ anymore. Especially now that you were carrying a new employer.

So, the Auditor decides to begin construction on a new place for you all to call your own. A ‘home’ in fact. So, he gets to work with the location of the new abode. He thought about making it in hell or his hell or even the other place…but those places might not be too comfortable for you or his developing child, so they’re scrapped completely. Then, he decides to build a new base in a hard-to-reach area.

Scoping out the potential places in Nevada, he finds the large cliffs in a particular location to be the perfect nesting site for him and his player. So, the site is picked and construction begins immediately. The AAHW is hard at work on making the new base and the Auditor begins to draw up the plans for the base to be built by. His imagination goes wild as his clawed shadowy hand draws out the rooms and the multiple levels of what the base would have.

No…this wouldn’t be a base. This would be his precious player’s home. Taking inspiration from the other world, he designs the ‘base’ with a much more…human-home look. Similar to the way he saw your room in the other world and what it looked like. Painted walls…carpeted floors…wall decor…and anything else he could think of that would make the base look more like a human abode. Something you would be happier living in.

By the time your midterm stages rolled around, the base was completed and the Auditor showed you what it looked like with a strong sense of pride. Less to say that you loved it from the way your eyes sparkled and lit up when you took in the much more colorful walls, carpeted floors, and similar patterns that you had in your home dimension. The Auditor also receives a deep and long-lasting kiss where his lips would be as he leans into it and soaks up your affection like a sponge.

The Auditor keeps his promise of making sure you were comfortable by providing furnishings and homestead decorations. Like a large bed for you both to sleep in together, a closet for your clothes, a luxurious bath for you to clean yourself in, a clean kitchen, a large living area, various floors for the place to actually ‘count’ as a base and finally the youngling’s room.

The child’s room was decorated with a shadowy and crimson crib, a changing station, a bookshelf, a play area, and even a little entertainment center in the corner. It had a toned-down regal vibe to it, but it was clear that the Auditor has a specific taste for decor. As most of the items in the home have either a black, red, or rich type of look to it. You could only be happy that you wouldn’t have to live amongst concrete and gray lifeless walls. Especially if you could live in a ‘base’ that looked just like the home you used to have.

Now that the homestead issue was resolved, the Auditor focused on your well being much more as your pregnancy carried on. With regular checkups with the medical staff every 2 weeks being a must. Nothing can go wrong with his little godling, he wouldn’t allow the room for error to develop if he could help it. He also had to make sure that you had an appropriate diet and were well-fed enough to care for you and the child both. That didn’t stop your cravings from throwing him through a loop from time to time, however.

I mean, really? You REALLY want to eat a sandwich with THAT much spiced meat and vinegar on it and top it off with marshmallows and pickled ONIONS of all things? Sure thing player. Anything for you. Whatever you desire, he’ll do. No questions asked.

It was not only the food issue he had to deal with, he also had to make sure that you didn’t overheat during one of your intense hot flashes. He’s had to set you down in a tub with lukewarm water just to help you cool down from some of the sudden hot flashes you would experience. The medical staff merely assumed it was because of the Auditor’s fire-like genes that might be affecting the pregnancy by making the player’s body temperature spike in response to the developing employer inside of them. The Auditor takes their assumption…for now.

By the time your due date begins to arrive, the Auditor is a STRESSED MESS. He’s balancing his employer duties, the AAHW, and becoming a new father on top of it all. To make things worse, the other employers are becoming eager to meet his little one, to which he would snap at them that the child wasn’t even born yet and they were already circling his family like vultures. It was needlessly bothersome to him and he didn’t like it one bit.

But the moment he comes to the base to see you, the woes of all his responsibilities melt away as you embrace him lovingly. Giving him kisses and light massages to help him cope with his stressful duties. He appreciates the affectionate gestures and purrs in response to your kneading hands that sink into his shadowy form to try and pull and push the pain away from his body.

Even during Nevada’s night cycle, you two cuddle in bed with one another. His fiery body provides your more human-one with warmth and comfort as you snuggle into his chest as he holds you close. Once more wrapping his shadowy form around your body in a protective manner, just as he has done every night since you became the carrier of his child. Feeling his lover so close, as well as the subtle warmth that radiated from within your belly, made the Auditor relax as he drifted into a deep and comfortable sleep fit for the higher gods.

Then, the big day arrives.

The Auditor was at his desk when his email began to ping like crazy. The moment he opened his email and read that it was from the medical staff that was stationed at the base his player was stationed at, the Auditor tossed everything aside and abandoned his post without question. His shadowy form slips into the floor in a heartbeat as he races back to the base to reunite with his player.

The moment he finishes emerging from the floor in the hospital wing of the base, he becomes aware of his player laid out on a gurney, taking deep breaths as they were in the beginning stages of labor. The Auditor hurries to their side as the medical staff rush around the room to collect what would be needed to deliver he new employer into the world of Nevada.

The Auditor is there every moment of the delivery process, even enduring your bone-crushing grip as you screech and pant in an effort to deliver his child. Then, the room is illuminated by a new glowing light as the medical staff finish the delivery. The Auditor watches as the staff shares a brief glance with one another, then they wrap up the new arrival in a black blanket. The auditor feels your grip weaken as you release his hand from your vice grip, as you relax that the process is finally over, allowing him to move close to the staff members who hold out the little bundle to him.

He takes it and hisses at the rest of the grunts to leave and the lot don’t need to be told twice, they all flee the room, leaving just the Auditor and his player with their new arrival. The auditor looks down at the black blanket in anticipation before finally pulling the cover away, revealing the child underneath.

Instead of having a typical coloration of an employer, the child was a striking bright glowing white with the player’s iridescent colors mixed into their flames and form. The Auditor was surprised with the coloration as he held the child close to his chest in awe. They were so beautiful…so otherworldly stunning…like a glowing nova. The Auditor feels pride bubble up inside of his chest as he nuzzles their cheek and speaks to them with a trill from deep within his throat, stirring the little one from their slumber.

Unlike his form, the baby employer was gifted with both eyes and a mouth. To which they yawn and he noticed it also changed colors just like their flames. Then their colorful eyes opened to take a look at their father. A curious gaze greets him as he chirps at the little one, getting a soft squeaky trill in return. He nuzzles them again, enticing another small purr out of his infant as the Auditor looks over to his player. Seeing them watching him greet his offspring with a smile on their face. He wastes no time in walking over and giving your lips a loving kiss as he shows you the young one.

“Look…a little flame that will one day grow into a powerful ruler…” He says, his voice laced with adoration as he strokes the child lovingly as his player nods in agreement.

He gives his player another deep kiss.

“Good work, my dearest player.” He purrs in praise as you let out a soft laugh in response to his affectionate actions.

Then, the doors to the medbay suddenly swing open, startling you both nearly out of your skins. You both look over to the entrance, revealing that the other employers had decided to come visit.

“Hey Audi!! We have come to see the baby!!” They all say in unison.

“GET THE FUCK OUTTA MY BASE!!” The Auditor yells at the lot. As a parent, Audi has to stay with his work and projects most of the time. Which makes him a bit distant, despite it being primarily unwilling. But he’s a stern father who tries to make their child view themselves above everyone else, I mean...they’re a literal god-child, no demi-god blood to be found in them. However, you don’t want a little supremacist for a child, so you make sure to re-temper the child and keep their mind open to other things and people of various backgrounds, not just the other employers or themselves. One way to make sure that Audi doesn’t corrupt them with his arrogant ideals is by letting them play with the agents and MAGS that guard their home. Torture is a favorite to the child, as they seek him out whenever they know he’s visiting and Torture is a loyal guardian to the little one as they hang out with one another. The player can only look on as their little child makes friends with ‘lesser beings’ and broadens their understanding of their world. You even tell them of your home world and that you desired to take them to visit it one day. You and Audi may not see eye-to-eye on a lot of things that regard raising the young employer, but at the end of the day, you all snuggle together and just relax in your shared embrace with your little one nestled in between you two. Audi is a regretfully distant parent, but loves his child and player very much.
