now that PALISADE is done, i'm hopping back to Spring in Hieron because 1, it has been a damn long time since i started listening in semi-earnestness and even longer since my first attempt before abruptly switching to Twilight Mirage and 2, i really REALLY want to finish the whole thing by the time the Chaotic Cataloguing zine is released, AND! i actually have faith that i will because these episodes are so short!

Propaganda (and spoilers?) under cut

Dr Brewer's Clone: Appearing in the book, Stay Out of the Basement. Dr. Brewer was a botanist doing experiments in his basement. He was using his own DNA to make plant-human hybrids. One day he made one that looked almost identical to him, which proceeded to lock him in the basement closet. The clone attempted to steal the original's life, but his children Margaret and Casey, began to realize something was wrong. They caught him eating plant food, and discovered, to their horror, he had a leaves for hair underneath the baseball cap he had started wearing. Most disgusting of all, upon sneaking into his room, they found he slept on a bed covered in worms.

The Spring: Okay so it's not so much of a species of plant as it is a type of plant. It was created by a trapped priest after his god (different god) was murdered, from the blood of the god on the god's anvil. It wants to grow fast. It wants to consume. It wants to exist and thrive and fight against the oncoming oppressive nothingness. And in the process if it pushes out other plants, other lifeforms, strangles people in their sleep, so what? They are of the old world. They were going to die anyways, now that the god that was the world is dead.

I will say, about PALISADE 01 (spoilers for both the episode & Spring in Hieron after the cut):

I'm currently relistening to Spring and am just past the defeat of the Advocate, so it's very funny to see the rhyme of a scary dragon that messes with communication (the Twitch chat went for word-eaters there instead of the Advocate's removal of sound, which is also understandable).

Anyway I'm on the downward slope of my Spring relisten but I'm definitely wondering if I should start a Divines Cycle relisten after that; I did relisten to PARTIZAN and catch up on the Road to, but I did so much pausing to look stuff up during the episode it wasn't even funny. OTOH, Twilight Mirage is my least favorite season, and there's new Bluff to listen to...
