Whats dead for too long shouldnt be brought back now we know that sure Mary is better then John yes but I am just dissapointed. Not sure how Johnie ended in heaven anyway like wasnt he in hell then he was ghosting around the gate I dunno. So you’re gonna look at me and tell me that Lily Saunders, a woman, who in all respects before the events unfolded was a good person, was almost sent to hell for killing the angels who wrongfully killed her daughter and angel companion (this being without her knowledge that they thought her daughter was a Nephilim, so she just assumed they took part in murdering her daughter and that angel out of cold blood for the majority of time) (not excusing murder but just to get a better perspective, she saw her faults and spared Castiel after recognizing all of this) (also HER DAUGHTER/ANGEL LOVER DUDE WAS FUCKING MURDERED IN FRONT OF HER PEOPLE).

Your gonna look me in the eyes and say that Lily Saunders deserved to go to hell for that, but John Winchester, a man who canonically was an emotionally abusive father, who made decisions that intentionally put both of his sons in harms way FOR THEIR ENTIRE CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE, who regularly left them alone/separated to fend for themselves, who manipulated them into believing they had no other choice than the life, that they had no other purpose than the life, that their only true role in this world was protecting each other like that (mainly Dean for Sam), who did all of that for the sake of revenge and hunting other things along the way..............saved his son’s life once by making a deal with a demon and that erased it all so that he could go to heaven?

Yes he went to hell for that brief period in the early seasons but that was due to a deal with Azazel, but after he was freed he went to heaven (which, btw, does not make any sense whatsoever as they addressed in S15 with Kevin that a soul who has been touched by Hell cannot go to Heaven, but when has continuity of plot points ever stopped the writers amiright?).

You mean to tell me John Winchester, after all that, just got fast tracked to heaven and is there rn j chillin with his family eating “Winchester surprise”? That Mary and Dean and Sam are pulling a “erasure-of-abuse-trauma-and-chosen-endangerment-and-abandonment Lebanon” up there w/ him? Make it make sense ya’ll!!!

In conclusion, I will forever be fed up with the sympathy arc of John “my dad would never say he was proud of me” Winchester and the demonization of Lily Saunders.

Sorry for this 12X9 Rant but I have to!

If you read my critique of the episode, I still stand behind it as a pretty decent episode, but I was literally awake all night due to my huge frustration with it! These writers (some arent that new either) seem to forget how Sam and Dean interact with each other, and would seriously gotten an F in 9th grade creative writing if they handed this episode in as an assignment, and most of it hinges on what we are told about Sam and Dean’s prison experience.  The beginning was great! The cop talking to both the boys separately. Telling them about how isolation works better than torture to break someone down. the boys stayed stone cold defiantly silent and the only reaction the cop got was when he told Sam about there being “nothing”. When the cop would close the door, there would be nothing, but him and those walls and the dark. This I am sure triggered ALL out heart strings, thinking about Sam’s hell/cage experience and we all worried for his sake. And when he flinched from the sound of the door slamming shut, all our hearts went “OH NOOOOO” What we expected:  Tears, angst, shaking in the darkness, breaking hearts from being away from their brother and any human contact, maybe some hints of insanity, fear from any noises they might hear after hours or days without sound, hallucinations, sleeplessness, maybe thoughts of suicide, or even an attempt by hanging themselves by their jumpsuit or sheets. Screaming, wall punching, rage... What we got: Sam doesnt like the food, Dean is fine with it. Sam working out (thank you by the way) Dean shaving, Sam looking shaven, the lights are always on, Dean scratches ticks on the wall. The cells are clean, the bedding is clean, the boys always look clean and surprisingly well groomed. Even the toilet is clean.  No tears, No angst, no nothing but apparent boredom When they get out, theyre technically dead. They both wake up and the only thing they say between the 2 of them “You good?” “Yeah”  So fast forward to the end, we find out the boys made a big scary blood oath with Billie, she kills them and brings them back one last time but at midnight, one Winchester has to die. They make this pact because, according to Dean, he has been to Hell and this was worse. Ok this is where the failing grade comes in. What do we (the viewer) know about Sam and Dean’s Hell tours? We know Dean was brutally cut and torn apart all day every day for 30 years, till he got off the rack and did the torturing himself for the next 10 years. But being bored with no one to talk to for 6 weeks was worse?  What do we know about Sam’s Hell tour? He was brutally tortured, burned and raped for 180 years, but in prison, the food sucked, so that was worse?  Mrs Garrison, my 9th grade creative writing teacher would make me re-write the story. If I was going to keep the beginning, the threat of insanity from the isolation, and the end, that the experience was worse than my characters time in Hell, then I better show the viewer/reader HOW it was worse. And if my main characters have this dangerous but beautiful, co-dependent love for each other, that I have pushed for the previous 11 seasons, give them something after they make this insane deal to show they still love each other and the deal is causing them grief and anxiety, not just “we need to talk about this” “we will... later” and then make sure they talk about it! I LOVE this show, I LOVE Sam and Dean, but this kind of writing is going to bring about the end of the series when it doesnt have to. In the 11 seasons before this, 2 of the best characters of fiction were developed and 2 million people are emotionally invested in them. We have seen through the seasons that the fans dont care how crazy the Big Bads are, or twisted the story lines get, so long as these characters stay true to what made people love them in the first place. If these writers would just take the time to focus on Sam and Dean’s pain, struggle, and love for each other, this show could go on forever. But no, this season theyre paying more attention to everything but. I kind of wish for a moment I could be Mrs Garrison, and hand the writer back this script and say “If you want me to believe, this deal was worth making, show me how prison was at least comparable to their Hell experiences, now I want a re-write on my desk Monday morning or you’re getting an F”

Rewatching season 12 and I gotta tell you despite a lot of flaws its really one of my favorite seasons. Lily's platonic relationship with Akobel and Castiel's with Kelly really stand out to me. Both of these angels are willing to protect these women and their children out of love but not a romantic one- and the fact that they both die while doing so- making that final sacrifice: its a real testimate to the fact that love born from a friendship is deep and meaningful. Say it with me AND say it loud for the people in the back: STRAIGHT/BI MEN AND WOMEN CAN BE FRIENDS, STRAIGHT/BI MEN AND WOMEN CAN BE FRIENDS!!! Lily and Kelly are absolute badasses in their own right however like most folks on supernatural they really get screwed over. I'd love to see them again even though one's dead. Supernatural's kinda shown their hand at making death an inconvenience rather than an end.

I do not branch out a ton and i'm doing this from memory BUT:

1. feels very stupid to start this with wincest but! it's gotta be said! anything else has to be in conjunction with wincest because there is no VERSION where they are not inextricably linked. that would be a different show. dean rolls over after sex with anyone to check if he got texts from sam

2. sam/rowena. outstanding shit. I'm not done spn and haven't seen the breadth of it yet (stalled on s13) but she is his TYPE and she is smokin hot and she could climb him like a tree. she is very old and has been having sex for so many lifetimes, she would take him to the fuckin cleaners. sexy and antagonistic and also very tender

3. dean/crowley. this would have been sam/crowley before I got to Dean And Crowley's Summer Of Love, but I just love how bad crowley absolutely wants to fuck either/both of them. I love Mark Sheppard and I've meant to write a crowley fic for a long time. would also do crowley/Bobby. crowley/anyone. he fucks like a train. he made demon dean cry

4. I've never actually read this, but I remember when I was on S12 I got wasted with a friend and gave her a giant rant about how I want cas/mary lmao. I forget what my salient points were but it's going on here because I'm out of ships. mary is a capable been-around lady and she would destroy that ancient twink. and I like the thought of cas telling Dean he's banging his mom

And that asshat even gets to be in 15x19? Please. You offend me SPN. I know, everything turns into a rant with me.)

SPN TIMELINE RANT

Okay. So, Tumblr being a little c*ntbag deleted my post literally in the middle of me typing, so here we go again (woo-fucking-hoo). No, this is not the 1st time it’s happened, and it is taking everything in my power not to punch the computer screen.

A lot of timelines I see on various blogs, websites, and wikis for SPN tend to mess up the dates of the series.  While there are 2 year-long time skips, the showrunners had decided to go by “Soap Opera Time” and nobody seems to properly account for that.  This can be quit frustrating when, if you’re anything like myself, you’re trying to figure out dates for fics and things.

SO, my annoyed, neurotic self decided to post a more accurate version of the timeline that better coincides with the episodes themselves as well as real-world events mentioned in the series.  I’m also taking into account some script details and things the cast and crew have said during interviews and conventions.

S1 - October 31, 2005-July 2006

Regardless, I included both.

Hello💜👋 from one "could have been amazing if spn was better" character lover to another

Emma and Magda could either love or hate each other instantly.💜

I am in the camp that Emma would like everyone at first. Mostly because they’re def parallels of the boys. Magda the physic who things she’s the devil and Emma the half-monster who didn’t have a childhood would get along great! It astonishes me like Magda remembers her life before being confined to the basement. I think Emma would help her to remember that time, come out of her shell.

I definitely would love for Sam to take Magda in and but if she hadn’t of had a living family member they would have taken her to Jody’s. Mostly because Sam and Dean don’t really have child rearing experience. However, if we’re going by my personal supernatural AU which I shall now dub…Uh… familynatural? Uh yea so I’m calling it familynatural now because I’m unoriginal lol…anyways…Magda gains a lot of family when Sam & Dean take her in.

By the time Magda would roll around Dean & Benny would have Bobby John (age 6), Ben (age 18), and Emma (age 20). Ideally, they are based out of Lebanon and live in the bunker with Charlie and Cas. Kevin (age 21) is in Princeton getting a dual degree in the Classics (thanks to being a prophet!) and Conputer Engineering.

He and Charlie will have modernized, as best they can, the tech in the bunker. Do you remember that tablet she made that Sam was jealous of (in Pac-Man fever I think)? Yeah, the whole bunker would have that kinda tech. But since it’s magical it would kinda be held together with spell-o-tape and glue until Rowena arrives and offers her help.

Yes this is also Charlie/Rowena too mostly because I think they’d be cute and so did the writer thats why cut their scene it was too powerful They would be so cute together! Honestly, while I don’t think Cyrus would consider them his moms…I think they would take charge of making sure he doesn’t get into mischief.

Then we have Sam & Eileen who have Rosie Holt (age 10), Jesse Turner (age 18), Jacob Pond (age 16) and then Krissy, Aidan, & Josephine (ages 17-18). I am a staunch believer that Krissy should have been Sam-coded (and had the better relationship with him) because he was the one she had the most initial contact with! But that’s a rant for another time…

I also secretly love Sam/Amy so in this AU Dean doesn’t kill her…another hunter does. Like, Sam tracks her down like last time and he spares her. But instead let’s say he runs into Martin or someone and they take her out and him and Dean save Jacob…who he finds out it secretly his…boom

Then they’d have Magda, who I think is 16 in S12? And I think she’d be a bit overwhelmed by the family she’d be coming into to say the least. She would go from having an older brother to having a younger sister, younger brother, and two older sister and brother. Not to mention all the cousins’ she’d have…

It would be an adjustment period to say the least…especially considering the youngest amongst them is Cas’ daughter Tanya who is three-years old. Yes I am subscribing to @8daysuntiltheapocalypseiguess’s secret Cas takes Tanya AU!

Cas also has Claire who he sees as his own kid but I think like canon they’d be not very close. I do think Jody, Alex, Ann’s Claire do visit. Also this is Jody/Linda, the most underrated ship so Linda lives in Sioux Falls with them and Kevin is a wayward sister! Also speaking of wayward sisters…Missouri doesn’t die but Patience still gets disowned so she lives with her grandmother (who for these purposes was the one to live in Sioux Falls). And they also rehabilitate Dark Kaia who goes by the name Maia!

And since Donna is single…I’ve always her shipped her with Gabriel. I mean, I think they would crack each other up! They have similar senses of humor and I think Gabriel would get a kick out of scaring Doug with his angelic powers.

But Uh…yeah this AU also features two de-aged characters (in a sense) Amara and Jack. Dean would raise Amara with Benny and Cas would raise Jack with Kelly. Though I think in this AU, Kelly and Cas would be QTPs. In this AU, for me, Cas is Aromantic Asexual (because I might be projecting a bit) and Kelly would be Biromantic Demisexual. So the two of them have Jack (newborn) and Tanya (3 year old). It they are living every minute of it.

By the time the final rolls around, Sam would be together with Eileen. The two of them would become the heads of the hunting community, opening the bunker to all (a la the Roadhouse). Rosie, Jesse, and Magda, would be great siblings to Dean Jr…who we are naming James Dean “JD” Winchester. I also think they’d have a daughter named Lillian Maura.

Rosie, I think, would want a normal life and follow in her father’s footsteps and become a lawyer. Magda would train her powers so that she could no longer hurt people. I think she would maybe study folklore and become a professor! Maybe come a hunter resource (a la Pamela) being on the fringe of hunting.

Dean and Benny would open a place like Sonny’s for monster kids. Jacob, Emma, Jesse, would probably help out at this place. Jacob and Jesse I see being entrenched in hunting, taking up that life as their job. Jacob, I think, would be their scout for monster kids. Emma would probably go with him to help convince the kids to comfort them. I think Jesse would maybe become a Latin scholar and maybe work with the church as a Pastor Jim type character.

Krissy, I think, would follow in Dean’s footsteps as a hunter, as would Aidan and Josephine. I think Ben would be the ‘Alex’ of the group and want a normal life outside of hunting. I think he would become a doctor as a counterbalance to all the problems he had in his life. He might work at a local hospital and work part-time at the ranch with his dads.

Bobby John I headcanon following in Dr. Mia Vallens and become a grief counselor. Cyrus I believe would be like Charlie but I also think he would try and combine Magic and technology. I think he’d try

Cas and Kelly get to live in their lake house in North Cove, Washington. I think Jack would unintentionally heal Cas completely making him a full-powered seraph again. Jack and Tanya would be the best of siblings and I think Jack would benefit from a kid near his age.

Um…in this universe honestly, I could see Jack wanting to go into politics like his parents. Honestly Jack as the future president would be absolutely hilarious!!! As for Tanya…not sure. I think she could be a witch like her aunt Rowena, that could be nice. Maybe she’d want a quieter life like she probably has with her parents. OH — Cas has bees at the house, Tanya is a beekeeper like her father.

in the secret good spn i have it ends in s11 but we do get the love confession AND we get mary. amara can read deans mind and is like hm i want to sway you so she just fucking. gives him mary like right out of the premiere. the whole season is still mary readjusting and going off to hunt on her own. she keeps asking dean questions about john that he won’t answer. casifer does still happen and there is the judas kiss (which someone else posted about. will find url later i think about it constantly) that sends dean spiraling. everything else is near the same. 

and then when deadbeat chuck (arguably best chuck) comes back and the whole band gets back together, dean goes on that rant to god in front of mary, and when god’s like ‘i’m not your dad, dean’ mary just like. realizes what the fuck has been going on. and they talk about it finally, about the stuff dean and sam were put through, the whole s12 i had to be a mother n a father speech, mary’s own complicated feelings re: john and the boys. they don’t exactly make up, but there’s understanding there. something to build on.

and then to make it even BETTER lucifer is just chilling there, teasing dean about the kiss and making everyone in the room wonder what the fuck is going on. casifer keeps asking ‘why won’t you tell them? oh, right. the shame. you’re ashamed, aren’t you?’ and dean doesn’t answer. a lot of internal struggle here, and a lot of lucifer making ‘angel in a trenchcoat whose in love with you’-esque comments. dean won’t listen to them, won’t believe them because if its true it just hurts more.

and when lucifer finally leaves cas’s body, it’s just both extremely heartwarming and extremely awkward. they don’t have time to talk about it, because there’s an apocalypse. they still decide to go with the soul bomb, and dean’s saying his goodbyes. him and cas have their moment, and cas says ‘i could go with you’ and dean just. fucking loses it and kisses him in front of everyone. says some crap one liner about going out with a bang, but it doesn’t hit because his voice is cracking. 

dean goes off. everyone returns to the bunker to mourn. god and amara make up, and dean shows back up. the wake turns into a party. dean finds cas by the impala, sad and alone, and makes his confession. cas says his confession back. big kiss. big family happiness in the bunker. the end.
