Here comes the 13th episode of spiel:feld´s live-set series with focus on live-playing producers. [SPF_live013] spiel:feld´s live operation with ... Der Kosmonaut !!! almost 1 hour of finest deep & dub house - all played LIVE by Der Kosmonaut with several equipment. ★ about:

Der Kosmonaut: a young Berlin based producer and liveact who has recently released his first track on [Instabil]. 8-9 years ago he started producing music and is now focusing on playing live. ★ a little conversation: ColtEP: Where are you now and where you wish to be?

Der Kosmonaut: I am from and currently living in Berlin Kreuzberg. I like to see different places, the world has so many things to offer and I like a change once in a while. But i think i will always return to Berlin as it is my hometown. And career wise i made a beginning through different live appearances with people like Skinnerbox, Axel Bartsch, Leon Licht, Dilby...and many other great people. I would like to be able to do that more often in the future.

ColtEP: What is your inspiration for creating your tracks?

Der Kosmonaut: That can basically be everything, sometimes I walk around the city and get inspired by the sounds that are surrounding me, sometimes it is a good night out, it can be a melody that appears in my head, a bad or a good mood, a good track that I heard or sometimes simply some technical stuff that i want to try out.

ColtEP: Do you have a special strategy for producing your music?

Der Kosmonaut: No not really, as i'm rather a chaotic person anyway, but i tend to drink lots of coffee. I like to make a small "sketch" of the track, before i'll try to arrange it.

ColtEP: Where and how do you produce your music?

Der Kosmonaut: You would probably call me the "standard" bedroom-producer, but mainly because i can't afford to keep a studio, otherwise i kind of like that "style" of working it provides me with a comforting and easy to access work enviromnent. When it comes to my production techniques i like to layer a lot, thats why my projects can become pretty huge.

 ColtEP: What´s your musical progress?

Der Kosmonaut: I was always somehow close to music. But i started playing guitar, then had some different bands, started producing electronic music around 8-9 years ago, mainly because i like being my own band. But nowadays i mainly focus on playing live, i like to go on a musical journey with everybody else.

ColtEP: Which LP´s would you recommend to us ?

Der Kosmonaut:
Still my favorite for years Nathan Fake - The Sky Was Pink (Holden Remix) [Border Community]
All the old Stuff by Extrawelt
Kollektiv Turmstrasse – Rebellion Der Träumer [Connaisseur Recordings]
 Anything by Marko Fürstenberg
Pretty much anything on URSL Recordings
I also really like Kruder & Dorfmeister and Massive Attack

ColtEP: What do you wish for your future?

Der Kosmonaut: I wish i could play live more often. And i want to release more records. Have more time to make music and maybe travel the world. And of course I want to meet more interesting people.
