I decided to challenge myself this weekend and turn one of my live audio pieces into a video! It's a short piece about names, and the odd relationship I have with my own.

I want to make more of these small, one-shot stories. I found working on my piece for Short Cuts and my documentary for QueerAF this year really creatively fulfilling, and something I want to explore more in the future.

Video editing, however, is something I have to...endure.

quick 1st jam with the sp404 with my own samples! the culmination of 1 day of learning. i think it's going well! this is just a bunch of loops + a few programmed drums + bass but it was a bitch to figure out how to tempo sync the samples. apparently it doesn't detect tempo metadata? more research needed

Couldn't let 404 day pass without a tribute to this box of fun. Did a piece for CDM with some ideas for how you can use the SP-404mk2 for jungle, IDM, off-grid beats, and drippy sound design.

Also it pairs really well with the Model:Cycles - if you have both you've got a real Voltron groovebox with the best of sythesis, sampling, sequencing, and effects.
