[8:34 am]
Katsuki never fails to forget about your early shift on Tuesdays, the day otherwise known as his day off.
It's not like you're gone for too long- not to what he notices. The blonde regularly wakes up a little late, and especially late on his one day off; it's the only day you drop the kids off at school so he can get his well-earned rest. By the time your duties are over and you got the kids back home he's most likely barely up, either having his morning coffee or even staring at the ceiling from bed.
But today was different. The kids had no school today.
You swore you checked if they were asleep before you took your leave- and they were- but the text you received from you husband clearly stated otherwise.
At home the Blonde man stood tall in the kitchen in your pink apron because he was too tired to look for his, as the two kids stood in their matching hero pajamas.
"What do you want?" he muttered, his voice hoarse as he leant on the fridge, rubbing his eyes open. On any other day he would have made them two bowls of cereal [lovingly] then went back to sleep. But to his unfortune, it seemed the family was out of milk.
"Hamburger!"
"Pizza!"
What?
Katsuki blinks at their absurdity, taking a minute to consume the fact that they're still kids. He doesn't have the energy to completely open his eyes yet and the kids wanted Pizza for breakfast? That wasn't even the worst of it- the two knew exactly what face to make and the eldest Bakugo was suddenly strongly urged to pick up the phone and bring their requests to life.
Is this what y/n deals with everyday ?
Katsuki doesn't usually deal with this kind of thing, not because he's a "man" or because he's irresponsible as many would like to claim, but because of his rather busy schedule- he's used to doing everything in his well to give his kids any and everything they ask for until his wife says is enough. He's not used to saying no.
"No, no, I meant breakfast," he smiled, trying his best to get his point across, "Omelette?"
"No, daddy," his elder, the girl with his eyes, your hair, and his mom's name, resists, "we want Happy Meals."
The pro hero raises an amused eyebrow at her sudden change of opinion, eyes flitting to the younger, a boy with opposite features and a name that associated with a certain red haired hero, as he starts nodding at his sisters words in persistence.
"Mitsuki, Eijiro, he sighed, kneeling down so he's level with the kids, "You know we can't eat that on breakfast- Mommy would kill me if I let you!" he exaggerates with a scared expression, making the kids giggle, he then slightly leans towards them, whispering as if there were anyone who could hear, "But if you behave I'll take you to the movies tonight." He lures, hoping no emergency occurs that stands between him and keeping his promise.
Soon, he realizes his bait worked better than he expected, evident by the kids looking at each other with uncontainable excitement.
"You're awesome, daddy!" Eijiro exclaims, wrapping his small figure around Katsuki's neck, giggling in excitement.
"Thanks, daddy," the female follows, putting more effort into containing herself, although it seems to be in vain.
The blonde man hugs both tightly to his chest, smiling genuinely at their funny and overly evident personalities.
Despite the long list of struggles that came with parenting two kids while being a pro hero- nothing beats these moments. To Katsuki, the mushy, warm feeling that crowded his chest whenever these small moments came to be, similar to the one he felt when he first met you, really meant the world to him. And he knows full well that- if push comes to shove- he would pay the world to keep these little beings from the slightest harm.
