Going going gone - pt3

Y/N POV 

You weren't sure how long you'd been missing for. The silence was deafening and your body was racked with shivers, your breath coming out in puffs of white cloud. The concrete walls were slick with grime and so wet puddles had formed on the ground. You pulled at the chain that secured your ankle to the blood stained iron bed. It was no use. Tears rolled down your puffy red cheeks as your heart ached for Spencer Reid. You never got to say goodbye, or tell him how much you love him one more time. 

Snapped out of your thoughts, the heavy metal door to your cell swung open, hitting the concrete wall with a thud. Your captor looked at you with malice and you shuddered. From the corner of your eye you could see a faint glint of something, then as he moved more into the sliver of light that came through the door, thats when you noticed the knife. 

Spencers POV

24 hours left. 24 hours…… Spencer ran his hands through his hair and tugged at the roots. Something he only did in times of extreme frustration. He had been going over the case files since the team had landed. The only clue they had so far was the small red stone that Spencer had found under your bed. Garcia had tracked down the origin of the stone. It had come from a ring. Specifically a ring that had belonged to victim number 6 in the missing girls investigation. Morgan and JJ had gone to all of the crime scenes. Every girl had similar traits to Spencer’s Y/N. They had found photos of friends, family, college life at every one of the crime scenes which they took back to the office to go through further, thats where Garcia noticed the girl wearing the ring with red stones. The ring wasn't found on the body or in the victims dorm room, the killer must have taken it as a trophy and thats how part of it ended up in Y/S room. 

Spencer hardly blinked as he starred at all of the photos the team had collected. Even the ones from your bedroom were scattered across the round wooden table. He smiled sadly as he picked up a photo of you and him. His heart ached. He reached across for another one of your photos when his hand stopped. He hadn't noticed earlier. How could he have not seen it. He shouted for the team, Rossi came flying through the door. Spencer was grabbing photos from across the table and putting them in a line. 

“Spencer what are you doing?” JJ came over and put a hand on Spencer’s shoulder. He shrugged her off and continued to lay out the images. 

“Look, don't you see it, all of the images are from the same party.” He was right, the same colour balloons in the photos, furniture shot from different angles, some of the people were the same in the background too. “And there, in every single photo, the same guy.” Spencer had known something was off, it wasn't just a jealous boyfriend thing. Because there in every single photo. The same man he had been wary of, was staring at each victim. 

Before the team could start finding out information about the man, an officer from the precinct walked through the door. Spencer looked up and his face paled. 

“They’ve found another body.”

“what’s up with you?” katsuki grumbled, his arms were crossed as he leaned back on (y/n)’s bed, his backside meeting the fluffy pillows.

“what do you mean?” they lifted their head, straightening their posture from their previously slouched position in the chair. their homework for the night was harder than usual, and loads more. maybe they shouldn’t have procrastinated so much on the work that their teachers handed out days ago.

“you’re so salty. it’s out of character.” katsuki spoke. it was true though, his partner was usually quite jubilant and lovable. now it was like someone had poured a bucket of salt on them and they just let themself swim in it.

they snorted, a smirk gracing their chapped lips, “speak for yourself.”

the blond’s eyebrows lifted, “gosh, what is wrong with you?” he glanced at them for a moment, realizing that sounded bad and he needed to expand,  i’m not saying it’s bad or anything, i’m just not used to whatever way you’re acting.”

“sometimes my anger and saltiness just leaks out.” they said, standing from their desk and walking over to where katsuki sat. they gave him a small kiss on the cheek and the place where they had pressed their lips onto ever so slightly flushed pink.

“plus i have a lot of homework, and now i’m upset with myself because of my horrible habit of procrastinating.” they griped, sitting back on the bed and leaning on katsuki’s shoulder. he sighed, thinking to himself for a second.

“how about we play some video games or something then you can go back to working?” hey, it’s good to have a break.

“sure.”

They had to pack it full of gauze and change it out several times. I don’t remember much of it but I think that was the earliest? If not then it was probably the stitches on my lip when I tripped and landed face first on a metal toy chest and my teeth went through my lip.
