I got a little ranking request for you: What are your Top 5 best and Top 5 worst Billy Joel music videos?
Omg okay. This is so hard!!!
Top 5 best:
Turn the Lights Back On
youtube
This is the one that makes me the most emotional. It's not even the AI younger versions of him, although those are great, but the old footage they put in at the end. Oh my god. It gets me every time. And when he turns the page from Famous Last Words at the beginning.... it gets me every single time. It's really beautifully made and I'm so glad we have it.
2. The Longest Time
youtube
This is a nice simple concept and I really love it. The old age makeup is a little goofy but it's worth it to me. I love seeing the band singing together in this one! The lyrics are romantic but the video is about the group of friends and it's nice.
3. You're Only Human
youtube
Billy Joel called this video terrible but he's just mean. It's cheesy but it makes it work. I think the cliche of homaging It's a Wonderful Life actually helps, because it doesn't take itself totally seriously. I like the narrative videos, which he would hate, but too bad. This is the only song of his that I enjoy significantly more with the video. He's great in it! He gets to ham it up and be silly and then he does the scene where he takes the kid to see the cops informing his parents that he's dead and he gets that look on his face. My heart. Playing the Piano Man riff on the harmonica is such a perfect touch. It really personalizes it and takes it from being a straight It's a Wonderful Life scenario to being a message from Billy Joel himself.
4. Pressure
youtube
This one is a really great example of surreal music videos that raise more questions than they answer. I think it's just really well-done and the effects are cool. It has some funny little easter eggs too, like "William Joel, age 29, occupation computer software."
5. A Matter of Trust
youtube
This is more of a performance video, but it has just enough narrative setting to it to make me interested. I like the rehearsal concept, even if seeing him play a guitar is weird. The comedy beat with the lady yelling at them to shut up is fun. Everyone in the street stopping to listen is predictable but it works. And the cameo from Christie and Alexa is adorable. "Okay girls, A Matter of Trust!" my heart!!
Honorable mentions that I adore but didn't make this list because I think these 5 are better: Keeping the Faith, She's Right On Time, Uptown Girl, We Didn't Start the Fire, Tell Her About It.
Top 5 worst:
Zanzibar
youtube
I don't even know what's going on here. He's released two other animated videos in recent years and those are both pretty good. This one is just weird.
2. Piano Man (1985)
youtube
I don't think either Piano Man video should exist, but between the two of them this one is worse. I hate how literally it interprets every line, I hate how brightly colored it is. I don't know if it's supposed to be comedic or it's just 80stastic but it's not dark and gritty like the song is in my head. This video represents everything he's ever said is bad about videos. I have my own extremely clear vision of the piano bar in my head from the song and this is getting in the way. Among the reasons this one is worse, it's very obvious when you look at him that it was filmed in the 80s, not the early 70s. His hair is completely wrong.
3. To Make You Feel My Love
youtube
There's no point to this, they just needed a video because they put this out as a single with Greatest Hits Volume 3. It works slightly better for Hey Girl.
4. And So It Goes
youtube
I have nothing against this it's just completely pointless. It doesn't add anything to the song. The only good part is the shot of his hands playing.
5. The Downeaster "Alexa"
youtube
I just don't like how it's edited and I really want this song to have a better video.
The only ones on the worst list I really feel strongly about are the first two though!
And then there's Sometimes a Fantasy which is both the worst and the best.
There's a video limit but I can link it.
I honestly think it's pretty well made and I really enjoy it but it's weird and it makes me feel a little gross. It just... is.
Thanks for the ask!

So... I've been a bit MIA bc this past weekend I was in my dear London for the 7th time and omg, it never gets old! There is SO much to see, and do, and discover, and revisit! And this has been the 2nd most eventful London trip ever (after the first one when we were still student-poor and the pound was super high and we crammed so much stuff in it no one believed us it'd been just 3 days.)
The excuse for this trip was concerts- We saw Billy Joel at Hyde Park on Friday and Blur at Wembley on Saturday. Both were great, my only gripe being that BJ didn't play my favourite song of his (The Downeaster Alexa), but he did play Piano Man and we had the surprise of the night when he sang Uptown girl with guest... Joe Jonas. Blur did play all their songs I like and it was endearing to see Damon Albarn being actually moved by being upstage in a full Wembley stadium.
An aside to say that, just like when we went to see U2 at the O2 arena a few years ago, I can only applaud the flawless organization of London transport around moving so many people in and out of venues. You'd think you'd have to wait forever for the tube afterwards, and that you'd travel like a canned sardine, but no, though we moved along throngs of people, we only had a bit of a queue for tapping in into the tube, but the train came right away (past 10:30pm!) and it wasn't particularly crowded. All hail TFL!
From the "typical tourist spots" in the city, my favourite is the Picadilly/Chinatown/Leicester sq./Covent Garden area, and the only that's been a constant on every trip. We returned to Greenwich (we'd gone to the Observatory in 2013) for the Astronomy Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Maritime Museum, walked around bit the neigbourhood before it opened and, after it, we visited the Queen's House, which we didn't know existed but it was free and I never get tired of visiting palaces, because EveryGirlIsAPrincess and shit. Even me.
Did you know there is a 121 year old pedestrian tunnel under the River Thames? I found out only a few days before the trip, and of course we crossed it. The tunnel south entrance is right next to the Cutty Sark - and we emerged on the north side on a normal neighbourhood on the Isle of Dogs (no, not the Wes Anderson film. It's really called like that). Headed for Canary Wharf, and to shield from the strong midday sun, we cut through Mudchute Park and... found the farm there. THEY HAVE ALL KINDS OF ANIMALS OMG!!! I spent a good while petting and feeding the sheep and goats, god, I love goats! I could have stayed for hours if it wasn't for my poor Husband and his please-can-we-go face. It was the highlight of the trip.
We also went to Battersea Power Station, recently reconverted into a shopping centre. I knew, of course, that the former power station was an iconic building in the London skyline; it's huge and for many years provided a good chunk of the electricity to the city, not to mention its appearance in Pink Floyd's Animals album and films like Children of Men. What I didn't know was that it was also a fucking masterpiece of Industrial Art Deco. And I fucking love Art Deco. Not only that, they have made an incredible, amazing, absolutely stunning job at restoring the building to its original Art Deco glory. The butchers that turned Barcelona's former Arenas bullring into the current pastiche could learn a thing or two from them. The respect for the original building is such that one of the control rooms has been turned into a glamorous cafe, keeping all the control panels at the back; and the bar is like stepping into the 1940s, from the decor to the old furniture, to the design of the coffee cups and the delightful menus mimicking a power plant instruction boocklet. We could've stayed for ages but we had tickets for Lift 109 - a different tour that takes you to the top of one of the chimneys. The tour starts with a gallery about he plant's history and a somewhat silly videomapping with more of the same (cool lights, bad audio, couldn't understand the guy much). Then you take a lift, climb a set of stairs and take the second lift to the top of the chimney, at 109 metres high. The twist is: you don't exit the lift. The glass lift becomes the observation deck. Even with the rain, the views were spectacular, and the wow factor of emerging from inside the chimney is really something new. Price? Ridiculously expensive, but I indulged husband because he indulged me in...
My personal highlight of the trip: we went for Afternoon Tea. But not just anywhere, no. If I was going to do Afternoon Tea I was going to do it with all the glamour that I deserve, so I booked us a table at Fortnum & Mason, no less. Do I need to say I felt like a princess? Everything was just so nice and fancy! The salon is just beautiful, so luxurious but without feeling heavy. The bathrooms had individual fabric towels to dry your hands.
We could each choose which tea we wanted; Husband went for the Afternoon Blend (that's my fic's #8!) and I had the Wedding Breakfast blend, because I hadn't tried it before. It was nice, mild and balanced. They came in this nice china that you can buy on the store first floor for a lot of money.
The food was great as well. The sandwiches were excellent; my favourite was the egg one; Husband preferred the salmon one. There was also chicken, ham, and cucumber. For the scones, I was a bit weary because I'm not a cream lover and the scones I'd had so far tended to fall on the dry side. But, oh my goodness, these scones were absolutely delish, and the cream + jam (or lemon curd) passed so well to them!
The sweets were, surprisingly, the least fabulous of the lot. Maybe it's a matter of local taste vs. my own; the quality and presentation was of course top notch. It could also be that I was already pretty full. I once read an iterview where a chef said something like, dessert is a thing people order when they're not hungry anymore. So it has to be totally scrumptious and tempting and delish to fully please the guest. For me, only one of the five samples filled that criteria, the cream tartlet with a freaking pansy encased in jelly on top. Both the mousses (Earl Grey + bergamot jelly, black cherry) were delicious, but not so much as to wow me. The chocolate cup could've been number one save for the raspberry filling - I love raspberries, but fruit in chocolate is a pet peeve of mine. Finally, the rose eclair definitely ticks the decadent checkbox (anything with rose does, IMO), but it's not a flavour I'm wild about. Much like truffle, to name another fancy eat, I feel it's easy to go overboard with it.
On top pof all that, we visited the Tate Britain and the Design museum, had breakfast(s) at Pret, bought rare-colour M&M's at the Leicester Square shop, walked down Portobello Street Market, visited Holland Park and Japan House and had lots and lots of fun!

And just because I love these sooooo much:
2. a song starting w/ the same first letter of your first name ( and you cannot use the song I know you are thinking about 😂)
7. a song your friend introduced you to that you ended up loving
10. a song about the place where you live (state or city)
13. a reboot of a song/songs you already loved (remix, mashup, acoustic, etc.)
Oops, I didn't even see this at alll. But hello Raylan ❤
a song starting w/ the same first letter of your first name ( and you cannot use the song I know you are thinking about 😂) -I feel like you're thinking I'd pick Downeaster Alexa, because it's clearly my song... But I won't. I'm gonna pick a different Billy Joel song and that's Allentown 😂
a song your friend introduced you to that you ended up loving -I'm certain you've introduced me to many a song. But actually a song that I so clearly remember being introduced to is Mona Lisa's and Madhatters - Elton John. It was Christmas Eve Eve and we were all drinking at the club until like 3am.
a song about the place where you live (state or city) -I'm not too familiar with a whole lot of songs about Pittsburgh. But i've been in Mac Miller's hood a lot lately. The most of his Blue Slide Park album was written about Pittsburgh 🖤💛
a reboot of a song/songs you already loved (remix, mashup, acoustic, etc.) So a cover? 😂 Patience - Chris Cornell. Nobody did a cover like Chris 💔

Grip but not threateningly bc he's not trash
send “grip” to grip my muse’s jaw in your muse’s hand : @tahitiwoke
it seems an incredible uncertainty has somehow been made certain this evening. claire would be the first to admit, as much hope as she’d had for things to work - not just for his benefit, but her own - there had been room left in her mind for it not to. for something to rise up and demand her attention. the feeling was not anything as clearly defined as expectation, but rather some sort of steel that could hold against the possibility of derailed plans and disappointment, so that she might bear it with as much grace as she was capable of : that for his benefit, more than her own. she catches herself on odd occasions, trying to gatekeep, so to speak - keep him clean of the idea that she might be let down by anything he’d had a hand in trying to give her. at dinner, the feeling had begun to ebb, they’d good - naturedly bandied words with sloan and christopher, and claire had renewed her understanding to include that sloan, apart from being very smart, ( if a little more cutting than she sometimes thought was necessary ) was also funny, something she’d not really been in a position to see for herself or appreciate, before.
somewhere toward the end, with the least cloying choice from the dessert menu sitting on the table in front of her, her fingertips had reached to skate the curve of phillip’s knee and claimed the cap of it with her palm, and her body had angled at the same time to fix christopher with her attention, her other elbow on the table and her chin seated in the cup of her hand. the warmth of her smile toward him had been informed by that subtle touch, and with the clear understanding that it was at least halfway made possible by christopher, she didn’t mind giving him a smile that spelled her appreciation as plain as she dared.
by the time that dinner had ended, and phillip and claire had slipped themselves into their disguises, ( she had called them this, and gotten a pleasant reception in the form of a kiss which phillip had clearly forgotten would be disrupted by the bills of their respective caps. she’d had to reach with a quickness to flatten her palm at the back of her head, and only managed to catch it a moment before it could find its way to the floor of the suite, ) that feeling was slipping ever further away, enough that as they walked, flanked casually enough to not draw attention, her hand had gravitated toward him, and she’d been more pleased than was really warranted to see his hand coming back to meet her, like he’d read her intentions in nothing but the narrowing space between them.
they’d done nothing but draw closer still since the opening notes of a matter of trust had reverberated around them, and claire had threaded their fingers together once again about five songs ago, when the downeaster alexa had played, and while before, she’d been parting from him after every song to join in the applause, that had stopped, and her head had dropped to his shoulder. new york state of mind comes and goes, and it’s more than halfway through i go to extremes when she looks up from where her head has come to lean against him, and she finds he’s already looking down at her.
there’s a long moment where she just looks at him, and he looks at her, and then they seem to have the same thought, again. it’s his left hand, and her right that raise, each crossing the other without any awkwardness, like it had been choreographed. she grasps the bill of his cap to remove it, and his hand comes to grasp her jaw as he leans down to kiss her, a little harder, a little deeper than he had back at the hotel, and his fingers press against the bone just enough to give her the clear impression that it’s not the last one she’ll be receiving. he parts from her, and there’s a wicked, smug sort of smile curling his lips that she wipes away in the next breath when she says : " i love you, baby. " he blinks once, and then he’s molten, putty in her hands, as he’s been known to say on occasion, and the next kiss is her own initiation. the red sox cap falls backward from her head and hits the floor of the box, and it doesn’t make a sound over the bridge when it swells.
and if i stand, or i fall - it’s all or nothing at all.
darling, i don’t know why i go to extremes.
#tahitiwoke#( which hurts and is desired. )#; -;#valentines day !! bitch !!#anyways i just . added onto your thing and expanded some more#i cant tell you how soft this makes me chief

they say these waters aren't what they used to be
The screams had stopped. Finally, Sirius thought.
Wasting no time, he pulled open the basement door, making sure to lock and ward it behind him. Once he was positive that nothing, human or otherwise, would be getting through it without magic, he shifted into Padfoot and ambled down the stairs, sniffing the air.
Immediately, he caught the scent of the wolf intertwined with the unmistakable scent of Remus, old books, chocolate, and - Padfoot huffed - Sirius himself.
He followed the scent all the way to the back corner of the basement, the corner which Sirius had started redecorating at Remus' insistence.
He smiled (as well as he could in dog form) as he thought about that conversation.
"Sirius, you're out of alcohol," Remus complained, holding up an empty wine bottle.
"That can't be right," Sirius had responded. "I just bought some the other day," he said.
Remus shook the bottle. "I don't know what to tell you. This was the only bottle on the shelf."
Sirius frowned. "Did you check downstairs? Lily started making me hide it after Harry found theirs last month," he said.
When Remus didn't respond, Sirius glanced up, surprised to see him blushing. He narrowed his eyes. "What's the matter?"
"Nothing's the matter," Remus hurried to say. His denial was somewhat ruined when he glared at the basement door and rubbed his neck.
Then, it hit him. Sirius began snickering. "Are-are you scared of my basement?" he asked, disbelieving.
Remus' already red cheeks darkened. "No! It's just - a bit - eerie, is all."
"Oh my god," Sirius laughed, "You're afraid of my basement!"
Remus made a face. "Excuse me for not liking the actual dungeon with bloodstains and no lights!" he said defensively. "Maybe if you decorated it or cleaned it or anything other than letting it rot."
Still laughing, Sirius said, "Alright, love, I'll fix up the basement. If I do that will you agree to spend the full down there with me?" he asked, sobering somewhat.
Remus sighed. "Fine, but only the months I take wolfsbane."
Sirius jumped up and kissed him, triumphant. "That's all I ask."
And so Sirius had started the long process of fixing the basement of Grimmauld Place, of which, it had turned out, much to Sirius' glee, James was also afraid.
He turned the corner around the couch, but stopped, staring stupidly at the sight in front of him.
A giant brown grey werewolf was lying on the sofa, tail hanging over an armrest, head curled against the other.
But that wasn't what stopped Padfoot in his tracks. No; that honor went to the open book sprawled across the werewolf's front paws, and the large yellow eyes that seemed to be roving over the words on the page.
Then, as if that wasn't enough, Moony carefully nudged the side of the book with his snout until the page turned, then pawed at it so it didn't turn back over.
Finally breaking the silence, Padfoot blew a loud breath out of his nose, and Moony shot up as if burned. Quickly, he tried to cover the book with his body, but Padfoot grabbed it in his mouth before Moony could crush it.
They stared at each other, both still slightly in shock. Eventually, Moony gave up and looked away, bending his knees to lay back on the couch.
Once the wolf had resettled, Padfoot set the book back down in front of Moony. He pointed his nose toward it, as if to say, Go ahead. Read.
The wolf huffed, but looked at the book again. Satisfied, Padfoot crawled up on the couch and curled up with his back against Moony's side.
It hadn't really hit him, yet, how much the wolfsbane affected his boyfriend, but if it allowed Remus to retain enough of his mind that he could read - well, that was the best Sirius could hope for.

the wolfsbane potion they gave remus in POA didnt stop him from transforming to a werewolf, it just left him his human intelligence. so i therefore imagine remus locked up somewhere discreetly during the full moon, werewolf form, reading a book or some human shit and im laughing so hard

I got "Downeaster Alexa" by Billy Joel and this is my favorite line;
"So if you see my downeaster "Alexa"
And if you work with the rod and the reel
Tell my wife I am trolling Atlantis
And I still have my hands on the wheel"

Billy Joel - The Downeaster 'Alexa' (Official HD Video)
youtube
There's a large response going on and it's starting to see what you're saying. Stop having me yell at him Jesus and stopping from doing it yourself that's your system stop being lazy and saying where do we we do it and stuff this has significant meaning and I'm saying it and it's Hera and they're saying Alexa and it's a woman's name and it's the goddess name the same as me or something then someone else it's really a reference to Queen Sarah and she's poor and she acts it that's hardly ever around it's never seen doesn't do any public statements and it's not really doing the job and I know it no they don't and she's been saying it now it's coming out. She was pregnant and he left to try and save the baby cuz they always do this the baby died in public and they go after the kids now they're trying to do it all the time and it is a metaphor and he's in trouble and he is going to figure out what to do he thinks and he's going to do the symbolism from the Lexus are the symbolism because it's a wealthy car a wealthy person's car and it's made by the Japanese and he was thinking about Alexis and then this came up and it's a helper like a robot meaning the max are controlling him and Bill looked it up and it started changing things and huge numbers of people see it and it completes the code
Hera Zues
It's about your life but we see that it's components and boys this powerful it's going around and other stuff too like your baby's absorb radiation and that's ridiculous and stupid but that's what it is and Jason does too and his kids absorb more and black people say well you turn black. And they say so what I need radiation absorption now. But for real it's not as potent as this code in the new car Hammer XT and I want one and I'm going to have to make it and eventually they'll be a company doing it and that's how it works it's all over the world now there's no stopping it he's trying to remember the name of Mark Harmon and yeah of course the beer company stopped making beer and he says you have to make beer at your breweries and we do and we drink some of it it tastes okay and they're making a huge amounts of beer that is not good for you and we noticed him saying it too that the beer is not changed and sugar and it it's terrible we can make it and I know what you're saying we have all these breweries and you get together and you make generic beer and I think they can contaminate it and we have a label on each label it comes from a different place but it's under a general label and we're going to go ahead and do this this is a good idea too but this car is awesome from the front and it says the X-Men and it means that our genes are different. And what that was a struggle and that was a struggle getting these words right and it still is Mark Harmon
I'm going to head with us now I'm getting going on it
Trump
I'm going to help the state's effort
Terry c
I got to do something so I'm going to try and help do this but I'm going to make one they took over my life they used me as a robot and that's what the code means I'm on to it now Mac Daddy
Permission of Prince Olympus

you talked about your least favorite songs, what about your favorites
Thanks for the question!
Usually when someone asks me what my favorite song is I say State of Grace, because the music on that song is so good! It’s also one of those songs that you can play really loud and rock out to.
I also love his demo Oyster Bay. I know it was never actually released but I think it has so much potential!
A Matter of Trust has such good lyrics and it’s such a nice rock and roll rhythm.
Shameless is a song that I didn’t like at first but now I listen to it all the time! The lyrics are so romantic, he’s so sweet.
Also Until The Night. The bridge and then the saxophone solo are so good!! Plus I think it’s a great vocal performance.
If I Only Had The Words (To Tell You) should have been a hit.
Where’s The Orchestra is so beautiful and it feels so short! Also I don’t know if you’ve noticed but when you listen to it with earbuds on, one earbud plays the music and the other plays Billy’s singing. Sometimes I listen to it without the music and it’s gorgeous.
I love The Great Suburban Showdown !! Because he describes the environment so well that I can literally see the song if that makes sense .
Temptation is so sweet and full of emotion!
Most of Glass Houses. With Through The Long Night, Sleeping With The Television On, and All For Leyna being my favorites.
Most of Turnstiles. Between the piano playing of New York State of Mind and the lyrics of I’ve Loved These Days and Summer Highland Falls I think it’s almost a perfect album.
Most of An Innocent Man. This Night and An Innocent Man are more of those songs with such detailed lyrics. Leave A Tender Moment Alone is such a romantic song I love it.
All About Soul is also one of my favorites. I really like the video for that song.
The Downeaster “Alexa” is probably the most beautiful vocal performance I’ve heard from him.
Also I know this is a cover but I love Light As A Breeze. I think it’s so much better than the original. And with his raspy singing, little moans, and begging, oh my goodness, is it getting hot in here?
Pretty long answer to a short question lol

@desertthorn @chiosblog y'all both tagged me lol,, thanks!!! <3
alas i cannot Toto my way through this one because they don't got no Z songs 😔 inconsiderate of them tbh
Z - Zanzibar by Billy Joel (i know this song but i literally had to resort to google to find a Z song because nothing was coming up in my brain lol)
E - Entertaining Angels by Newsboys (i grew up with this song and it's still one of my favorites tbh even tho i'm not a christian anymore like it's so fucking good and isn't preachy or anything. you know back in the 90s and early 00s when christians actually made decent music and it wasn't just fuckin worship music 24/7 lmao. also phil joel with his long blonde hair?? forever giving me gender envy.)
R - Rooms On Fire by Stevie Nicks (aka THE MOST UNDERRATED STEVIE NICKS SONG literally WHY doesn't the entire world know this song. flash warning for the video tho. holy fuck she's so gorgeous but like i can't be attracted to her because i want her to adopt me. she's MOMMY but in a totally boring, nonsexual way lmao.)
O - One Dance by Dan Bern (i mean, it's the main track from the movie my url is based on, so. i HAD to. plus it's just. vibes.)

YA YA YAAAAA YO)
A - Are We Dancing? by John Davidson and Leslie Ann Warren (why?? idk i was going through my music collection and this stood out because i remember loving it as a kid, i always found it so soothing. sometimes i'll put it on for comfort even tho it's just a cheesy romance song from a 1960s disney movie that i barely even remember ever watching lmao)
R - Rich Girl by Daryl Hall & John Oates (aka the song i would put on as a kid when i wanted an excuse to curse and be able to say IT'S IN THE SONG MOM I'M JUST SINGING THE SONG!!!! "it's a BITCH, girl")
Y - Y Bardd O Montreal gan Breichiau Hir (this is a cover and normally i'm loyal to original versions of art lol but i really like the screamy bits in this one. my Welsh isn't good enough to understand everything they're saying but holy hell i sure do be head bangin' anyways lmao)
L - Left & Right in the Dark by Julian Casablancas (honestly thanks for tagging me in this because it made me remember how much i FUCKING LOVE THIS ENTIRE ALBUM,, i only know like 2 songs by The Strokes, but i love a handful of his solo stuff,, honorable mention: 11th Dimension - 'we're so quick to point out our own flaws in others,, complicated mammals on the wings of robots' is SUCH a lyric. also side note he gives me so much gender envy holy shit)
S - Static Box gan Sywel Nyw feat. Gwilym (another Welsh song because hoLY FUCK THIS SONG IS SO CATCHY it makes me go all autism flappy hands)
.....sorry, that got away from me. it's been like an hour and i've just been sat here going through my own music collection and rambling lmaoooo rip.
anyway thanks for the tag, y'all!
tagging anyone else who wants to do this,, say i tagged you so i can see y'alls music tastes.

Season 1 episode 21
"POLITICS"
Notes by me
- politics ! I fully expect to be bored
- no glasses!daniel
- I believe you daniel! Even if no one ELSE will *side eye at jack*
- daniel: you guys were engaged
Sam: hhmmm I guess its possible
jack: preposterous! Thats disgusting. And wrong. I dont even get- why would - ive never been attracted to anyone, ever. Its none of your- the nerve! The audacity, Sam is my teammate. And she is terrible, face wise. And how, how,- how do I know, frankly, that YOU dont like her??? Maybe youre trying to throw me off! Hhmm Check and mate
- jacks only argument is "its against regulations" lol you tried
- "hows our boy" AJDBEJZB❤❤❤
- some rando senator wants to shut them down. Who gave a senator the power to do that? To a top secret government program?
- cheyenne mountain ia officially Area 52
- "how about a bake sale"
- Jack is me and wants to know why this RANDOM DUDE has all the power
- so far this guys an ass and I want him to not be here
- thats it i'm bored. Theyre saying big political words that I dont understand. Pls know I am trying but I am very dumb. Speak monkey to me, stargate writers.
- ok but this is literally a giant metal ring that transports you to other planets in an instant and this fuckin,,,, old ass white guy is wining and stomping his feet
- "do you know how much this program costs?"
"......7 ish?"
Direct parallel to tony stark thinking his social security number was 5
- "lets dial the gate to P4A771 and drop you off see how long you can last" now I want to know whats on this world lol
- Jack is PISSED
- Jack is right hes already made up his mind.
- "skaara was chosen" :(
- flashback time
- when tealc trusted Jack immediately upon seeing him and Jack said This Is My Brother Now
- "they actually killed us once" out of context this is so funny
- ah yes the forest hippies
- this whole ep is just an excuse to recap the whole season lol
- HOLY CRAP ITS A CLIP OF THE MOVIE!!! when the big ship lands on top of the pyramid !!!
- ah shit remember the crystal people :(
- Kinsey is still not saying "goauld" right and my eye is starting to twitch
- "what is right cannot be measured by strength" I dont know what this means but I feel it in my bones
- tealc losing his shit and just flat out telling this guy hes gonna die a horrible death 👍🔥🔥
- Talk Shit Get Hit
- ah no rest in peace Kowalski :(
- flashback of the Monkey Madness Pandemic
- Kinsey going for the jugular and reminding Jack of that STD that almost killed him that one time. Savage
- Daniel said the greeks are livin' large!! Good for them!!!
- Jack saying he respects the stargate. Its about the growth
- Kinsey this whole episode: you cannot change my mind
- *commentator voice* and in a desperate attempt to sway the man, Daniel decides to not take jacks warning and tell Kinsey about the alternate reality anyway. Its a bold move for sure but lets see how Kinsey counter attacks folks
- aaannnddddd Daniel has to deal with being laughed at for what he says. Again
- "I am not crazy" this is actually sad. Bc Daniel had a really tough time when everyone thought he was nuts for believing in aliens. And now he has to deal with nobody believing him again :\
- Kinsey is just SUPER into God™ I guess
- shut down the gate forever ?! But theres 9 more seasons!
- JACK WANTING TO LEAVE WITH TEALC SO THEY COULD FIGHT THE GOAULD TOGETHER
- "the senator is an ass!" Daniel should be able to swear more often. I feel like if this show wasnt family friendly we would get alot of Fucks
- that window shot of the team ❤💗❤
- to be continued -
~
Whump under the cut
Daniel jackson whump: arm bandage, flinching, arm sling
Team sg1 whump: various flashbacks of the team being attacked/killed
🎶listening to The Downeaster Alexa by Billy Joel 🎶 because they are losing thier jobs :(
No glasses!Daniel for less than 5 minutes

We Didn't Start the Fire was leading this for a while and I was furious about it, so a big thank you to all The Downeaster "Alexa" fans for saving us from that. I love We Didn't Star the Fire but there are so many better songs on this album! I was happy to see substantial support for And So It Goes and my choice, Leningrad, as well as nods to I Go to Extremes and Shameless. None of the no votes broke my heart, and by the way Billy Joel thinks When in Rome sucks too.

Rules: answer 20 questions and tag 20 people you want to know better. I was tagged by @patrik-god-laine (I’m glad you changed it back 🤣) THANK YOU! 💙
1. Nickname? Lily.
2. Zodiac sign? Taurus Rooster.
3. Hogwarts house? *sighs* I’ve resisted admitting I’m a Ravenclaw because I’m reeeeally tired of my aesthetic being “the smart one” but... it’s who I am. Slytherclaw, really.
4. Height? 5′3. My license says it, so I am!
5. Last thing I googled? “TJV hockey” because I wanted to see what city it was in. That has absolutely nothing to do with the fic I’m currently writing. Nope. Not at all.
6. Favourite artist? As in music? Eric Church and Billy Joel.
7. Song stuck in my head at the moment? It’s a mix of “Baby Shark” and “Downeaster Alexa”. Imagine that.
8. Followers? 989, but it changes often.
9. Following? 120.
10. Do I get asks? Not often enough! Talk to me!
11. Amount of sleep? Um... four hours? Sometimes. I often forget to sleep.
12. Lucky number? 44 was my jersey number. I like 7. (8 does nothing for me at all.)
13. What am I wearing? A dark pink shirt. I did wear more than this today, but I started getting changed and then... I don’t know, got distracted and stopped. This is the real life of ADHD.
14. Dream job? Elementary school teacher. And bestselling author.
15. Instruments? Nope. I’ve taken guitar and piano, and I cannot.
16. Languages? English. Semi-fluent in Spanish and ASL. Working hard on Portuguese. And I get Finnish lessons on the regular.
17. Favourite song? “We Didn’t Start the Fire” by Billy Joel.
18. Random fact? I’m acting in a show right now, and I had thought my part was pretty small, but I keep getting people who have acted with me before telling me how it’s the best acting I’ve done since they’ve known me. So... I guess it’s better than I thought. (I am speaking onstage alone, so that’s cool.)
19. Aesthetic? Books. Maps. History, especially ancient history. Anything international. Hockey. Bruins. Yellow and orange.
20. Dream trip? Seeing the Bruins play an away game in every arena in the league.
I’ve seen all of the people that I would have tagged already do this, so... um, I don’t know who to tag... DO IT, if you want.
