Snuggy: "Truth be told, I was annoyed that I had to get involved due to huggy's incompetence, as we both went to comfort this unusual ‘player ’. And when I spotted him, all that came to mind was tearing the intruder to shreads."

Snuggy: ".....but then....I can not begin to explain what it was that snapped when the player....no, my darling, grinned right back at us. There wasn't a single fear on his face, as if daring us to do our worst... challenging us even..."

Snuggy:"I could feel my synthetic heart started beating hard in my chest...I could tell that my darling was something special right then and there....and that's when I decide....with ever fur on my body...."

Snuggy: "and I won't hesitate to end the lives of anyone that dare touch or harm him"

One of Dublin's best preserved snugs - Toners on Baggot Street.

Sometimes referred to as "confession boxes", the snug is a small enclosed seating area usually located beside the bar with a small hatch window where bartenders privately serve drinks. Traditionally, snugs provided a private space where patrons, particularly women, priests, or others who preferred not to be seen, could enjoy a drink without being visible to the rest of the pub's clientele. This particular snug in Toner's is where W.B. Yeats and Oliver St. John Gogarty famously met for a sherry. Many snugs were ripped out in the 1970’s when they went out of fashion but there are still lots of great examples like this to be found around the country...
