BTW whatever happened in ep 7 there IS a polin wedding.
Some people doubting their own eyes and ears wondering how the writer's fit everything in to two episodes but that is their problem, not ours. We saw all the shots of people dressed for a wedding back during filming including the Bridgerton's and more importantly the FEATHERINGTON'S because that proves it's their wedding plus soooooo many redhead extras. On top of that Bridgerton announce an original song they had written that Tori Kelly sung and SHE said the orchestral version is for Polin's wedding. So, it's happening.
And I don't think it's happening in ep 8. Ep 7 is called the Tying of Hands? Or something like that. That generally means a wedding union. So however bad their fight or even if they do briefly have him go to a brothel again it's going to be so short lived in the long run. The only reason people are worried to point denying reason is the spoiler was vague and said not really sure what else happens aside from saying he doesn't have sex but think Colin is mad for an ep or ep and a half. Which there may BE lingering issues to work out, there were in the book but it won't stop the wedding. Main issues during their marriage in the book were his jealousy over her being established with her purpose as a writer and his fear of her discovery. My guess is that is what it will be here.
People can be mad went back to the well for another brothel scene that goes nowhere (if that spoiler is true) but there are too many unmovable spoilers out there to think this is something that won't be mostly resolved before the final half hour of ep 8. Infact even the Queen is going to be at that wedding.
Which....oh.......that jogged a memory. I think there were a couple scenes where they had most of the actors exit the site of filming of the wedding. I wonder if there is a confrontation between the Queen and Penelope here...I'm still not sure how they have decided to proceed with keeping Whistledown on the show but I really don't want her to be a propagandist for the Crown so I have some trepidation about that.
OMG...thinking on it now...I think everyone in the fandom has forgotten about that detail too. That the show was clearly trying to keep some kind of spoiler of what was happening under wraps and I don't think it was just Pen's wedding finery looking to hide. I know I had forgotten it. And the person saying they don't really know what happens next...either conclusively proves how secretive it is being locked away or just how much trouble they'd get in if leaked it.
The thing about leaks is they aren't always from people going rogue. Sometimes the show wants to get out ahead of something so let people put it out there. A person saying Colin goes to a brothel but wait! he doesn't have sex...that sounds like show authorized leak to try to temper the reaction they got before the season started with one of the UK rags made it seem half of Colin's sl was sleeping with prostitutes and getting off on two women having sex. Context of the scene was off and there was a lot of backlash but when show aired narratively had some purpose. So I definitely could see them behind this leak. People still aren't going to like they lazily wrote him going there again but maybe will reduce the reaction a little.
Ben being bi, Eloise having next season instead of Benedict, Michael being Michelle, Francesca getting the story some Eloise fans wanted...all these I could def see the show leaking because they know the meltdown the fandom is going to have and maybe hope people will exhaust themselves of arguments prior to then.
But to have THOSE details and yet be vague on if Pen and Colin have a wedding? Saying not sure? Even though we KNOW they do? Oh, the show is definitely hiding something big there....
Sorry off on a tangent but now I am very curious what they are hiding that happened in that church. Especially since no one is speculating on it since everyone has forgotten that detail about actors waiting in the cold outside while filmed something....

Skate Leading Stars (SPOILERS for the first six episodes)
Ok so I'm no diehard anime critic. I actually suck at watching any type of series because I have the attention span of a fruit fly. I tend to forget about series I'm in the middle of and if its not engaging, I'm gonna lose interest. But I just finished the first six episodes of Skate Leading Stars and I just have some things to say about it. In fact I'm not even critiquing the anime I'm jst gonna say shit that annoyed me
BE WARNED SPOILERS!
Kensei, our main character, is arrogant, argumentative and a bit annoying. He relies too much in his ability to copy things instead of focusing on his basics and foundations and actually learning how to skate lead. From what I've seen, skate leading is completely different to figure skating. There are 4-5 other people there on the ice with you. That four other people you have to sync with at all times, keep in mind when moving and just timing everything together with. He just does what he wants, whether the team likes it or not. I will admit that he does learn to more of a team player by episode six though, which leads me to the next point.
Wth??? They ragged on him SO hard for not skate leading properly and doing the routine exactly as it's choreographed and when he does, its apparently the wrong thing to do? And then they put so much pressure on him after that, telling him to skate freely instead for their free skate. Like? DO you want him to be a team skater or what?! And the whole "when we say conform to our skating we dont actually mean conform!" Like dude what do you want him to do?! The fact that they rely on him, a first year, so much that they think changing the way he skates is what will make or break the team is just.. no. no good.
This also leads me to the timeskips and whatever the fuck that training camp was. Idk if I've been spoiled by other sports animes and getting to actually see things like practice matches, training camp arcs and official matches, but I think SLS really lacks in story. I feel absolutely no connection to the characters. They have no bonding moments, hell they barely have dialogue. We barely get snippets of the other boys and mostly their screen time is really dependant on their interactions with Kensei. In my opinion this anime does a lot of telling and little showing. We go from an episode where Kensei gets challenged to be more of a team skater and jumps immediately to him doing that perfectly in the next episode. There's no showing of the process, they literally just say in the beginning of epipsode 6 that Kensei got better at following the rules and then he does.
So far I've watched 6 episodes, but I still can't get a sense of any themes in this anime. There isnt much friendship or team connection. There is no real story of hardship- our MC being great at skating- and being underdogs. The rivalry is barely even there because Reo (the supposed antagonist) is hardly in any of the scenes and mostly doesnt interact with the MC. Maybe I'm jumping the gun, it is only 6 episodes but like, in 6 episodes Haikyuu created the quick duo, KnB formed their shadow and light pair, PoT showed the skills of their regulars and MC etc. This anime is so fast paced and gives little return for the amount of ground they cover. Like we're already finished with the First competition of the Grand Prix series.
They dont really show the routines, in fact their free skate in episode 6 was just passing images that showed nothing. I'm not sure where theyre going with this anime but it feels like an anime you put on when you want to pass time without taking anything in. They actually need to show more of Aki, Yuki, the captain (i forgot his name sry) and Itsuki, preferably outside the orbit of Kensei, pls
The only thing i like abt this anime was Sasugai Hayato. He's funny, determined, smart and flip flops btwn reigning in Kensei and egging him on. Its hilarious. He's got an ugly attitude but i love him. Still, he doesn't add much to the story other than another angle for the whole Reo rival thing.
All in all, idk if i'll continue with this anime beyond 2 or 3 more episodes.

You've stopped shipping robron then?
i’m laughing bc i don’t care about them as a couple, yet i still blow up over spoilers. & then after 5 mins, i’m chill again. yikes @ me. i just find this sl so mind-numbingly boring!! so far, everything has been so predictable. i’m just waiting for shit to kick off. i’m waiting for aaron to finally lose his rag and go off. i don’t want him to take all this shit, i want him to realise he doesn’t need to be with robert to be ‘happy’ i need him to take some sort of control back in his life.  bin his counsellor & find a new one. I’m sorry, i’m still not over it! world’s shittest counsellor and i honestly couldn’t care if they ‘end up together in the end’ because why get them married, put aaron in prison, made him suffer even more than he already has just to let robert cheat & end up with kid that no one asked for? lmao, it killed a lot of feelings i had for them.

People keep saying Sun isn't trustworthy. Yes historically, I get that. Definitely in the main, total absolute C U Next Tuesdays. Gobshites. My parents are from Liverpool. I hate the effing Sun, wish it eternal misery, and will never visit the site personally. But there is something weird going on with the Sun and Emmerdale rn. They've been pretty spot on with their spoiler leaks. Months in advance. SLs too? idk.. But yes. Someone is blabbing to the most wretched rag in the whole UK.
You made it sound so cool tho.

TBH one of the best thing about Solo Leveling is the shadows' personalitites, whereas for Ragnarok it's their agency. And the implication of this (plus if we include how Ashborn's interactinos with his shadows) is interesting.

SL Rag spoilers below
just another Haein ramble post don mind me.
Look man I love Haein as much as the next person but I feel like, even with the new content of her coming out (from SL Rag to Arise to the anime) she's still lacking in something of her character. And, as I began to look more into her I kinda saw that the main culprit of her characterization is that: She is perfect.
Too perfect, I mean she holds no flaws or anything that can set her aside from the rest (and no being an s rank and female doesn't automatically make her different), and even if she does she doesnt hold them to the extent that other characters might have them, or she just has the same thoughts as anyone else. Her personality as well never clashes with the other hunters or is too different, especially from Jinwoo-- and okay yeah that's expected bc trophy wife trope and all that–  and in a sense I think this might derive from the fact that everyone wants her to still be stuck into this mold of “perfect wife + perfect mother” that doesn't have the same level of flaws as the rest.
She wants a comfortable life, like Jinwoo, she trains constantly, like Chiyeol, she is not burdened by trauma unlike Juhee who leaves the story or Jinah who actively tries to stop his brother at one point from entering dungeons (and stopping the MC? Clashing due to real life precautions and worries? And expanding on that? No sir we don't do that). She is strong but not too strong to be a threat (in their first meeting maybe but then Jinwoo just levels up in the castle and then bam stronger than her again) just like… yeah everyone else lol. She fights Jinwoo at one point but it's not due to some difference in thinking or to stop him from something, rather Haein just wants to spend time with him. And yeah despite wanting a comfortable life, or so told so far, she is still placed in the spotlight during her idol years, and has to deal with the most supernatural shit going on in her life constantly. She might be strong but she is still a damsel in distress, and her olympic background… I mean it's there.
I like the implication that she might have been stressed about appearing perfect during her idol life, especially pressured to do great by the adults around her just as she was pressured to be a maintainer of peace when she was an S rank (friend’s death and all), but that… doesn't get anywhere, and I admit Haein hinted to being stressed was only in the date scene with Jinwoo, the rest was expanded by Arise and Rag, still, still its not treated as anything else except ‘oh she is so camery shy’ and ‘oh she just wants a normal life being a normal wife’ (mind you Jinwoo is there as well but he even he doesn't see a problem with that except for when the cameras are pointed at him to which he just makes all the photos look black) and not, idk, dwell on the amount of pressure she would have been faced in since she was a child, the failure of not meeting those expectations in her past life and wishing to meet them when she was given the chance to become an s rank hunter, or how all of that constant training might have affected her life and social ties with other children who werent as talented as her. Or maybe how Haein has had to constantly keep people at a distance due to her nose problems, plus her almost never appearing in the news (so it was said during her hunter years, bc she had signed a contract with Jongin for this to not happen i think) leading everyone to not get to know her as well as the rest of the other hunters who were practically seen as celebrities.
No? None of that? Not even tackling the fact that olympic athletes tend to suffer from burnout, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, or how traumatic the double dungeon must have been since it was the first time Haein, an S rank, had ever come so close to dying (as far as we know in the og sl), and it cant be backed away with saying ‘oh that would be too complex for the story!’ when we’ve seen Haein trying to challenge her fears against Beru during the Ahjin guild arc.
It's also not needed for her to be so overly complex either, I was listing examples out of the many routes in which her story could be fleshed out more. She can have a small healing moment to herself or slowly unwrap the tolls of pressure she’s been under, and that would be enough, because tbh, she does deserve some time to breathe, as a character, as herself. For the most part she’s never alone, in every scene we see other she either is with someone (mostly a guy) or thinking about someone (90% Jinwoo), so seeing her outside of anyone’s interaction, seeing her go on about her daily life or her daily struggles, or seeing how Haein fixes her own situations without the reliance on others, that I think, would be more needed than ‘just more Haein scenes’
Arise has one scene which I like, her talking with Chiyeol after his double dungeon incident. Both characters definitely needed something like that in my part, 1) because it highlights Chiyeols maturity over the certain years he has been as a hunter, and 2) because it emphasizes Haein’s relationship with her teacher and how she’s not only learning to be skilled but also the pain that comes with losing your comrades afterwards.
And in Rag, though I find it way too absurd to the point that its funny that Haein has managed to protect an entire village, on her own, for the past 5 years, with daggers, in her 40s, no experience whatsoever in a fight unless it was also transferred alongside her memories, and also had no qualms in protecting the race of beasts that had once pose such a level of danger Jinwoo himself rewinded time itself— I do like her interactions with Sirka,  and it posses such an interesting dynamic to see considering she is one of the few humans who has managed to maintain a connection and lived alongside intelligent magic beasts like he elves (Suho being the other which is… interesting actually when you think about it considering Jinwoo is somewhat yes and not on the list).
Again, she is so interesting in her own right, but the thing is that we never see her act alone or be solely in the spotlight, and don't get me wrong, this also goes from the other characters too. But with her I feel like too much of what she could be or experienced is brushed off too quickly or not given enough time to expand.
So anyways, I will like to see where she might go off from here foward, especially in rag, and the anime.
