Almost forgot to show of Serainne's sage glam! here's a lil story to go with it:
Serainne: Sibert, may I ask you a question?
Sibert: You just did, but go ahead.
Serainne: When were you planning on telling me that the "cool eye patch" you so thoughtfully gave me was the most identifying mark of a criminal wanted in every state of Ilsabard?
Sibert: o_o ...*attempts to shukuchi out of his armor*
Zantetsuken, grabbing him by the scruff of the neck:
Answer the question, coward.

Sibert- Ninja and Dark Knight bc they feel like the least "warrior of light" jobs available for the warrior of light, to really emphasize the fish out of water aspect.
Serainne- Dragoon bc Ishgard, and Sage because the visual of a dragoon jumping around with pseudocybernetic wings just refused to leave my head.
Asriel- Bard- Chocobo, chocobow, get it? Also so the chocobo theme can literally save lives. and Red Mage bc I wanted an excuse to keep him around Rhalgr's Reach to join in on the Omega questline.
Rogberry- Tonberries are slow and deal ungodly amounts of damage. Black Mages are slow and deal ungodly amounts of damage. He's also a Samurai bc I wanted to give him a more stereotypical tonberry sort of job as well, and ninja was already taken at that point.

"Once thought to be extinct, black-footed ferrets are the only ferret native to North America, and are making a comeback, thanks to the tireless efforts of conservationists.
Captive breeding, habitat restoration, and wildlife reintegration have all played a major role in bringing populations into the hundreds after near total extinction.
But one other key development has been genetic cloning.
In April [2024], the United States Fish and Wildlife Service announced the cloning of two black-footed ferrets from preserved tissue samples, the second and third ferret clones in history, following the birth of the first clone in December 2020.
Cloning is a tactic to preserve the health of species, as all living black-footed ferrets come from just seven wild-caught descendants.  This means their genetic diversity is extremely limited and opens them up to greater risks of disease and genetic abnormalities.
Tumblr media
Now, a new breakthrough has been made.
Antonia, a black-footed ferret cloned from the DNA of a ferret that lived in the 1980s has successfully birthed two healthy kits of her own: Sibert and Red Cloud.
These babies mark the first successful live births from a cloned endangered species — and is a milestone for the country’s ferret recovery program.
The kits are now three months old, and mother Antonia is helping to raise them — and expand their gene pool.
In fact, Antonia’s offspring have three times the genetic diversity of any other living ferrets that have come from the original seven ancestors.
Tumblr media
Researchers believe that expanded genetic diversity could help grow the ferrets’ population and help prime them to recover from ongoing diseases that have been massively detrimental to the species, including sylvatic plague and canine distemper.
“The successful breeding and subsequent birth of Antonia's kits marks a major milestone in endangered species conservation,” said Paul Marinari, senior curator at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute.
“The many partners in the Black-footed Ferret Recovery Program continue their innovative and inspirational efforts to save this species and be a model for other conservation programs across the globe.”
Tumblr media
Antonia actually gave birth to three kits, after mating with Urchin, a 3-year-old male ferret. One of the three kits passed away shortly after birth, but one male and one female are in good health and meeting developmental milestones, according to the Smithsonian.
Mom and babies will remain at the facility for further research, with no plans to release them into the wild.
According to the Colorado Sun, another cloned ferret, Noreen, is also a potential mom in the cloning-breeding program. The original cloned ferret, Elizabeth Ann, is doing well at the recovery program in Colorado, but does not have the capabilities to breed.
Antonia, who was cloned using the DNA of a black-footed ferret named Willa, has now solidified Willa’s place as the eighth founding ancestor of all current living ferrets.
“By doing this, we’ve actually added an eighth founder,” said Tina Jackson, black-footed ferret recovery coordinator for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, in an interview with the Colorado Sun.
“And in some ways that may not sound like a lot, but in this genetic world, that is huge.”
Tumblr media
Along with the USFWS and Smithsonian, conservation organization Revive & Restore has also enabled the use of biotechnologies in conservation practice. Co-founder and executive director Ryan Phelan is thrilled to welcome these two new kits to the black-footed ferret family.
“For the first time, we can definitively say that cloning contributed meaningful genetic variation back into a breeding population,” he said in a statement.
“As these kits move forward in the breeding program, the impact of this work will multiply, building a more robust and resilient population over time.”"

Cloned ferret gives birth in Va., making history, U.S. officials say. (Washington Post)
Tumblr media
Antonia, a cloned black-footed ferret, gave birth to kits in June. They are seen at 3 weeks old on July 9 at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute in Front Royal, Virginia. (Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute)
Excerpt from this Washington Post story:
An endangered animal that was created by cloning gave birth to two healthy offspring at a Smithsonian Institution/National Zoo center in Virginia, in what a federal agency called a conservation milestone.
Authorities indicated that techniques used in their work with black-footed ferrets could help preserve other endangered species.
The two ferrets were born in June to a cloned mother at the Smithsonian National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute in Front Royal, Virginia.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service called it an exciting research achievement that broke new ground in efforts to preserve the animals. The work could also help in preserving other endangered species, animal specialists said.
The cloned ferret mother, Antonia, gave birth after mating with a male ferret named Urchin, the federal wildlife agency announced last week. Antonia was born last year, created from preserved genetic material from Willa, a female ferret that died in 1988 without descendants.
Cloning provided the opportunity to bring the genes of an eighth “founder” into the existing ferret population, according to Revive & Restore, one of several organizations involved in the ferret project.
Antonia was described as the first cloned ferret to restore lost genetic variation to its species. One of her kits died, but two survived. Sibert is a female and Red Cloud is a male.
They are “doing well,” said Revive & Restore.
Their birth represented “a critical step forward” in the use of the cloning process to produce greater genetic diversity in conservation, the wildlife agency said.
Genetic diversity is vital to the healthy, long-term recovery of an endangered species, the wildlife agency said, and the cloned ferret mother showed three times the genetic diversity of the current population of endangered ferrets.

Here's a circa 1957 photo of the Philip Morris Show tour. At the time, it was called the largest individual package sale in country music history, The Grand Ole Opry's Jim Denny signed an agreement with Philip Morris Tobacco Company to provide the talent for the Philip Morris Country Music Show helping boost the popularity of country music across America. Initially audience members could gain entrance by paying with empty packs of Philip Morris cigarettes. Eventually, that plan was abandoned and it became a free show. According to Goldie Hill, the tour was originally supposed to be the standard 13-weeks, but turned out to be over seventeen months long

well if we gotta write to get the word out about our OCs, I guess that’s just what we gotta do. hopefully we’ll get a working tablet soon for art, but til then the written word alone will have to do.
Sibert, the street rat
Midlander Hyur, he/him
Age: 30
Height: 5’10”
Personality: He starts out a bit cocksure and yes, even glib. After heavensward his wit remains but he becomes a lot more short-tempered and sarcastic, only really getting a chance to mellow out during dawntrail.
Build: Wiry little shit. Think brunette Thancred, but less debonaire, more drowned mongoose.
Hometown: Limsa Lominsa
Jobs: Ninja, forcibly conscripted into dark knighthood, really more of a crafting main
story under the cut bc it got a lil long.
Story: After getting the customary shunted-into-town-with-no-memories treatment, Sibert (No Last Name Given) got off to a less glamorous start than the average WoL, though he was able to join up with the rogues’ guild. after defusing a bomb threat Sibert gained the attention of one Y’shtola Rhul, who roped him into the actual MSQ.
skipping along to the fun bits, while fighting Thordan and the Knights Twelve, their reality shattering Ultimate End had some.. side effects. Much like a rejoining of the source, shattering the spacetime around a suitably powerful clump of aether (i.e. one warrior of light) allowed it to drag similar objects through the rift to it (i.e. more warriors of light). now instead of struggling to contain a single champion of hydaelyn, they got curb stomped by ten.
after that, Sibert kind of.. checked out of heroics for a bit. up to this point he had kept himself going through the loss and pain by saying it was necessary, this fight was something only he could do. Now that there were nine other people who could do his job just as well as, if not better than him, he didn’t know what to think.
of course he’s a warrior of light, so it didn’t take long for trouble to find him.
while wandering, Sibert stumbled upon a wood wailer tempered by Odin. The sword had barely any time to affect the poor bastard, so their fight was brief, and Sibert got the sword back to the squadron that had just fought the previous Odin not thirty minutes ago, led by another Warrior of Light. after determining the sword itself was a primal, they figured Sibert carrying the thing around with him until they found a way to break the sword was the only real option. (Most of the WoLs were dealing with the brewing Baelsar’s Wall situation, and the one leading the squad wasn’t able to for reasons that’ll be brought up in her own post.)
while the blessing of light protected Sibert from explicit tempering, constant exposure to a bad influence while already on a downward spiral didn’t help his mental state much. this eventually culminated in a version of the big Frey fight that ended with Sibert accidentally fusing with Odin to stop it from running off to cause more problems.
after this Sibert decided to get as far away from anyone he cared about as possible and traveled to Kugane. as a combination sell-sword and crafter, he made contact with the Kojin of the Blue while the MSQ was still galavanting in Gyr Abania, and Odin was unusually chill while in Tamamizu. I mean they literally worship swords with people in them there, of course he’d love it.
Sibert keeps flitting in and out of the MSQ up until the liberation of Gyr Abania, at which point he (and mostly Odin tbh) gets drafted into helping Krile deal with Eureka's bullshit. Bringing a primal along isn't ideal, but he's a hand-held way of keeping Eureka's worst aetheric temper tantrums in check, and if he has some unsettling revelations about his own existence along the way all the better.
After Eureka, the pair just barely miss the boat on going to the First. With a giant aether vacuum strapped to his back Sibert isn't really fit to help keep the scions alive, so he says "fuck it, let's give Odin what he wants" and goes ham on the bozja front for most of shadowbringers.
When the endsinger starts endsinging, Sibert's lack of confidence in his own purpose in life starts literally eating away at him, though thankfully he has his own umbral-aligned primal that can keep him together well enough to focus on stopping the final days. between Odin constantly patching him up and the strain of the final climactic battle at the edge of the universe, pretty much all of his aether has been lost and replaced at least once by the end of endwalker, leaving his existence a little bit biologically unstable going into dawntrail, but it's probably fine.
(also the three-part punch of tamamizu giving odin something to care about, finding out he's not really a god in eureka, and the pointlessness of the global war in the dead ends is gonna break odin enough for him to get some character growth. even the despair-event-horizon plot points get a despair-event-horizon plot point here.)

SHOULD SIBERT REMARRY ?
Whether Sibert should remarry depends on several factors, including his personal desires, the well-being of his children, and the historical and social context of medieval England. Here are some considerations to help you decide: Reasons Sibert Might Remarry: Help with Children: Raising five young children alone is a significant challenge. A new wife could help care for the children and manage the household. Social Expectations: In medieval times, it was common for widowed men, especially those with young children, to remarry quickly. This was often encouraged by the community and family. Emotional Support: Sibert might find emotional and practical support in a new marriage, which could help him cope with the loss of Elianora and the demands of single parenthood. Financial Stability: A new marriage could bring additional resources or skills to the household, potentially improving their financial situation and the farm's productivity. Potential Challenges: Children's Adjustment: The children, especially the older ones who remember their mother, might have difficulty adjusting to a new stepmother. Finding the Right Partner: Sibert would need to find someone who is kind and willing to take on the responsibility of a ready-made family, which might not be easy. Grieving Process: Sibert and the children may still be grieving Elianora's death, and remarrying too quickly might complicate their emotional healing.

No big deal, just Pulitzer Prize finalist and Obie winner Michael Breslin (together with Patrick Foley - who we also photographed and is brilliantly funny - wrote Circle Jerk). Not that he would mention it or brag about it but he’s a big deal. As is the theater company that collaborated on the show, Fake Friends with Cat Rodriguez (who we also photographed and is a genius!) and Ariel Sibert.
