He'd sink nearly sideways into the chair by the fireside with a groan, tired muscles temporarily protesting at the weight shift from standing to sitting. The twins had certainly done their best to put Caleb through the wringer when it came to resisting the allure of bedtime, but parental persistence won out, and pretty soon Wren and Hunter — perfect, precious bundles of joy — were fast asleep.

With Lulu and the promise of beer together in one convenient spot, he perks up the slightest bit, responding with an almost full-body twitch. He takes the beer, gently clinking the bottle against hers and wrapping his available hand around her hip as he takes a drink. "Five?!" He sputters and chuckles softly all at once, trying hard not to choke on beer. "Babe... I don't even know how they're gonna feel about us throwing one costume on 'em."

"...What'd you get though?"

        If anyone asked Lulu Warren–Nichols if her life was perfect, she’d give a resounding yes. It was an absolute dream with Caleb. She had everything she ever wanted, a family of her own and even a house! How could she be any luckier? It was as if every wish she ever made came true.

       When the children had finally got to sleep – Lulu was still buzzing.  Caleb was such a good father – it made her fall in love with him all over again.  She grabbed two beers from the kitchen before she made her way over to Caleb. Carefully she situated herself into his lap, as she handed him a beer. “I may have gone a little overboard today – like totally bought the twins five costumes each.” But Lulu couldn’t help it – Halloween was her favorite holiday.
