Rant abt your Cds I'm curious
OK HERE GOES SCRAMS 2024 CD COLLECTION TIER LIST
(Disclaimer: these are just my personal opinions and if yours differ from mine, fine. Itâs not a sin to be wrong)

S TIER-
Goo-Sonic Youth: Straight bangers all the way through. Girls love it when you show them your Sonic Youth cd. Extra points cuz the pamphlet unfolds into a sick poster
Midnight Vultures-Beck: Good album to clean the house to. Every song a banger. Beck as a person sets off alarms, though đ€
Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot-Sparklehorse: Genuinely my favorite artist and album of all time. Fall asleep to Homecoming Queen often.
Siamese Dream-Smashing Pumpkins: Fire straight though. Good when youâre in a depressed 20-something mood. Better than Mellon Collie in my humble opinion.
Gorillaz-Gorillaz: The start of one of my favorite bands and objectively one of the best bands in the world donât fight me on it Iâll kill you.

A TIER-
Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots-The Flaming Lips: Solid album. Iconic cover art. âDo You Realize??â always got me feeling feelings
Violent Femmes-Violent Femmes: Top 3 favorite band. Every song went platinum in my household. Would have been higher but reminds me of my mom too much.
Dig Me Out- Sleater-Kinney: Got it because the name sounded familiar. Ended up loving them! Doesnât sound right if itâs not played loud, though, and considering I live in an apartment, I donât play it often.
Fear Yourself-Daniel Johnston: Got it because I love âHi, How Are Youâ but havenât been able to find it anywhere. Was pleasantly surprised! Hits the same melancholy spot but slightly more upbeat.
Figure 8-Elliot Smith: My favorite sad boy that definitely DIDNâT kill himself. Not my favorite Elliot album but every one of his albums is A tier personally.
The Diary of Alicia Keys-Alicia Keys: WENT QUADRUPLE PLATINUM IN OUR HOUSEHOLD. Prime cleaning the house on Sunday music. Dragon Days is seriously underrated.
Garbage-Garbage: Donât know how to say this without sounding insane but this album sounds like the color #DC007F and I like that color a lot
2-Mac Demarco: The CHOKEHOLD Mac Demarco had on us artschool bitches in 2016 OMG. Was gonna change my name to Viceroy

B TIER-
Money for Nothing- Dire Straits: Top tier dad music.
Lumine fever- The Adrenals: Got it cuz the cover looked cool. Was pleasantly surprised! They rock the adequate amount
Rocket to Russia- Ramones: Theyâre good but I donât get the hype honestly. Theyâre the Flavor-Aid of Punk
Starfish- The Church: Only love one song on it, the only song anyone likes tbh. The rest are your standard 80s deal
Crooked Rain-Pavement: I really love Pavement but there is a thing as too much Pavement and I think Iâve reached it
Yankee Hotel Foxtrot-Wilco: Honestly should have been in A tier but all the pretentious music dudes Iâve met has soured this album for me so it goes in B outta spite. Jesus Etc my fave song tho
An Evening with Silk Sonic- Silk Sonic: Nice, short, gets me in a happy mood. Does what it needs to do!
Prolonging the Magic- Cake: John McCrea donât really be singing, do he? He just fancy talkin

C TIER-
Gigantic, Fuel, and The Nixons: I got all 3 on sale and they all sound the same and that sound isâŠok? Like itâs alright background music
Blind Melon-Blind Melon: What was with 90âs bands putting random kids as their album covers? Decent listen, though.
Summerteeth-Wilco: Good background music. I canât remember any songs off it.
Los Angeles/Wild Gift-X: I like X but I hate that fucking album art omg itâs so hard to look at. I like their songs individually but as a cohesive album, eh.

D TIER-
Throwing Copper-Live: bought it on sale with the above 3 but liked this one substantially less. Only redeeming quality to me is the album art.
Ben Folds Five-Ben Folds Five: Misleading considering thereâs only 3 of them. He sounds like my ex boyfriend from highschool before I realized I liked girls

F Tier-
The Ragetones/Fall Apart-The Ragetones: Saw them play at a shitting basement show. Everything sounds better when you can barely hear yourself think.
F Punk-Big Audio Dynamite: Found it at the thrift and rehomed it outta pity. Sounds like the 80s in a bad way.
#ok that all folks goodnight#thatâs not even all my cds just the ones I felt like talking about#scram rantz

Lil dkbk ft. fujoshi Mina WIP
âAre you serious Kats?â Mina gaped, wide eyed and practically foaming at the mouth.
âYes,â Katsuki responded, rolling his eyes. He almost regretted starting their conversation in the first place, âand stop callinâ me that.â
âAbsolutely not, but oh my gosh you and Midoriya?â
âDonât say âandâ, youâll jinx this shit,âÂ
âOkay, so you like Midoriya. Seriously!â She squealed, shaking her hands with excitement. Drama was Minaâs specialty and Katsuki was her best friend. Typically Katsuki and anything romantic didn't coincide. When she came into his dorm room, the Katsuki Bakugo revealing he had a crush was the last thing she expected.Â
âYou donât have to keep repeating it,â He groaned.
âKats, this is so exciting oh my gosh. Does anyone else know?â Katsuki winced, afraid of her feeling too special when the truth was revealed.
âNo,â
âReally?â She seemed surprised, musing a bit before continuing, âBut why me? I mean, I donât really know Midoriya very well.â
âExactly, and you know⊠you read all that BL shit, so I kinda assumed you might know something about this.â
âYou mean you want my fujoshi expertise?â Her eyes lit up in a dangerous way. Everyone in the hero course was a bit off-beat, that's just what the harsh realities of hero work did to people. Izuku had his merch collections, Sato had his baking, Jiro had her music, and Mina had an insane obsession with everything BL.Â
âWhatever you wanna call it,â Katsuki groaned once again, though he knew this was for the best. For years he had been wallowing in his feelings about Izuku, never able to push himself to make anything happen. As their looming graduation approached, he had realized it would be too late if he didnât do something soon. Still, his pride was almost as big as his love for Izuku. Telling Mina was Katsukiâs way of making sure something would happen. People saw her as a ditz, but if that girl was anything, she was tenacious.
âIn that case, iâm going to need to know everything,â She scooted closer to where Katsuki was on the floor and hardened her expression; she was ready to create the perfect plan to ensure Katsuki would get Izuku.
âFuck no!â Katsuki could barely even explain to himself how the hell heâd started as Izukuâs childhood friend and ended up in love with him. It was far more complicated than any of them knew, âJust tell me what boys like in those books.â
Mina laughed patronizingly, âNo no no. Thatâs not how it works, Kats. Every BL has a good back story that leads into the love story. Things like whether the main love interests knew each other in the past or not. I need to know when you met, when you realized you liked him, anything that's special to your relationshipâŠâ She rambled on and on with her list, so much so that Katsuki was forgetting nearly every addition she made, âoooh and Iâm for sure going to know who the top and bottom is.â
âWHAT?â Katsuki immediately got up and began pacing around the room with regret.
âItâs really important to the dynamic. I mean traditionally youâd probably be the top, but muscular bottoms with angry personalities and more gentle tops have been super popular recently.â
âSTOP.â

work song â a.h.b.
a/n: full disclosure, i've posted this before on tumblr for something else. but i love this piece very much and i think it fits for him and this song so well đ€ (it's gone under quite a few edits too, though)
cw: mentions of death but of well that's a given
the artist flicks through the feature.Â
her name is printed in big letters on the cover of the monthly issue, her faceâsmiling and excitedânext to the centrepiece of her latest art collection: cupid and psyche.Â
the painting is stunning, a riot of bold colours and patterns, but at the centre is a man, his face hidden, his red-brown curls tousled. his body is relaxed, she thinks there's an air of carefreeness about him.Â
and she'd know that for sure, after all that day is etched into her memory.Â
when she feels a familiar pair of arms wrap around her, she smiles.Â
âyou're rather proud of the feature, aren't you?â his voice holds a little teasing note. she's stared at the feature for close to thirty minutes now, discreetly pinching herself in the same spot on her arm. (it sports a tiny, barely-there bruise now)Â
âgood,â he nuzzles his face into her neck, softly kissing the skin, âyou should be. the exhibit was fucking gorgeous.â
âmmm, because you were the centrepiece?â fondly, she teases back, but the memory flashes in front of her eyesâthe bustling art gallery, him in a corner, wearing a plain hoodie and jeans and a cap hiding half of his face, absolutely brimming with pride.Â
she remembers the journalists asking about the man in all the paintings, the one whose face no one can see. âhe's my muse,â she says every time, âthis collection is dedicated to him.âÂ
âsomeone's going to connect the dots,â he walks around her, settling himself next to her on the settee. instantly, they rearrange themselves into a tangleâher legs on his lap, his arm around her, her head on his shoulders, his head on hers. âif they looked carefully, they'll make the connection.âÂ
âsweet boy, we have been each other's muse for years now and no one's found out. i don't think they're going to start now. besides,â she snorts, âi think the art world thinks i've made you up in my mind. wonât be the first time an artist's gone insane.â
he laughs a hearty laugh. âmaybe you have. you always say i'm too good to be true.â
when she can't think of a retort, she sticks her tongue out, shrieking away as he smothers her in kisses.Â
âseriously though, it's fun writing about you. singing about you. and i love seeing myself through your eyes.â suddenly he sounds all sober and serious. she thinks his voice even wavers slightly at the end. he blinks quickly though, and just like that the brightness in his eyes is gone.Â
âlove it when you write about me too,â she teases, âlove being told i give you a toothache just from kissing you.â
âoi! i put my heart into that! it's a precious memory for me.â
âthe memory of me taking care of you when you were burning up a fever? the memory of you demanding more kisses?â
he giggles like a teenager, hiding his face in her hair. it's fun to rile him up like this, so she continues, poking him in the ribs. âoh, oh, is it the memory of you passing the flu to me?âÂ
âwe took care of each other though!â he traps both her hands in his so she wonât be able to poke him more. a second passes, and he canât resist kissing the knuckles. âand so you deserve to have a song written about you. or a whole album works too i think.â
he pauses for a little then tuts. âactually, no. don't wanna tell anyone it's about you, that'll ruin the magic.â
âruin the magic?âÂ
âof being your muse and having you as mine. a hundred years from now, when people would see your art as the artwork of this generation, and my music as the tune of our timesââ
âtune of our times...â
âyeah, quit laughing at me!â he flicks her nose, kissing it right after. âso when my music becomes the tune of our times, i think people will see it then. they will make the connections.â
secretly, she loves the ideaâthat their love might transcend time and space, heaven and hell through their art. that decades from now their names might be whispered together, even though they arenât just yet.Â
âof course, we'll be buried together by then. same grave by the way, very romeo and juliet of us.â
âthat's morbid!â she laughs sharply, âwhat will the epitaph say?â
he hums for a bit, thinking. his eyes flutter shut for a second or two, almost like he needs to focus on the half formed thought until it's a complete sentence. then he excitedly clears his throat and gently holds her face between his hands.Â
âhere lie the artist and the muse; inspiring each other in death as they did in life.â

Feel free to ignore ofc!!đ«¶đ«¶đ«¶
muse - matty x reader
a/n: this took a very different direction than originally planned and got slightly existential sorry about that đđ but i hope you like it regardless <33

matty giggles like a teenager, hiding his face in her hair. it's fun to rile him up like this, so she continues, poking him in the ribs. "or waking up the next day with a head cold because we stayed in the cold water for so long hmm?"

Prairiewolf -Deep Time
One more plug for Prairiewolf's new album â Deep Time! It's out today on digital, LP and CD (the latter edition with a mystery bonus disc đ»). Very proud of it, though it's really Jeremy and Stefan who make this shit sound so good. Also shout-outs to Matt Loewen for his insanely great clarinet solo on "Revisionist Mystery;" Sean Conrad for his expert mastering; our labels Centripetal Force (North America) and Worried Songs (UK/Euro). And thanks to anyone out there who listens! I'll shut up now, but after the jump, you can read what one of our favorite writers, Brent Sirota, had to say about the album:
Prairiewolf make easy listening music for an age of fracture. They almost do it in spite of themselves. No one can seriously question the head music bona fides of the members of this Colorado-based trio. Guitarist Stefan Beck has already assembled a formidable discography of jewel-toned guitar zone-outs under his Golden Brown moniker. And keyboardist and guitarist Jeremy Erwin and bassist Tyler Wilcox have both made their reputations as chroniclers of the vast world of out music. Erwin helms the indispensable Heat Warps blog, a performance-by-performance archive of Miles Davisâs labyrinthine electric period. And Wilcox has been covering the ragged edges of psychedelia and experimental rock at Aquarium Drunkard and other publications, not to mention his own virtual basement for heads, the great bootleg blog Doom and Gloom from the Tomb. These guys come by it honestly. And yet, given their backgrounds, Prairiewolfâs self-titled debut last spring was remarkably free of face-melters, brown acid blowouts, and ascendant spiritual jazz odysseys. Instead, they dropped a record of beautiful, elegant, low-key cosmic groovers that sounded like the piped-in background music to a resort hotel on Jupiter. It was an unlikely psychedelia, brocaded with mid-twentieth century sonic threading from the hi-fi era: vintage synthesizers, smears of spaghetti western, luxe tropical details, the faint schmaltz of space age pop. Imagine something like a Harmonia residency in the airport lounge. And yet somehow it all worked brilliantly. Prairiewolf became last summerâs cool-down standard.
After a year woodshedding around Coloradoâs Front Range region, the Prairiewolf boys have fired up their trusty Korg SR-120 drum machine for another outstanding collection of suborbital exotica. The appropriately titled Deep Time operates in its own chronology, unspooling at its unhurried pace. All its incongruous period and stylistic referencesâthe new age pulses, Hawaiian steel, shaggy hippie rambles, lysergic guitar spirals, and orchestral synthesizer flourishesâfloat atop the albumâs own singular temporality. Deep Time makes its own time. From the moment Beck folds his slide guitar, origami-like, into a sound resembling the call of gulls on the tranquil album opener, âPeach Blossom Paradise,â there is a sense of departure from everyday life. The shimmering âLighthouseâ has a similar sunbaked nonchalance, like an afternoon passed day-drinking in a seaside bar. That they named their lush, kaleidoscopic downtempo track âThe Meanderâ pretty much says it all. The ranging, propulsive âSaying Yes to Everythingâ seems like a nod in the direction of Rose City Bandâs brand of wookie krautrock. And the motorik noir of âDemon Cicadas in the Nightâ also goes hard. Beck and Erwinâs intertwined guitar jam on the eerie album standout âThe Cold Curveâ evolves into something that sounds like primitive computer music. A genteel bassline from Wilcox on another album highlight, âRevisionist Mystery,â sets the stage for a loopy space jazz turn from guest clarinetist Matt Loewen of Rayonism. The title of post-rock cowboy tune âAnother Tomorrowâ might refer to the alternative future that so many critics heard in the music of Prairiewolfâs first album. Or it might simply refer to the persistence of time, however deep.
Either way, Iâm thankful for the way Prairiewolf make each of their tunes a little oasis or sanctuary, each subsisting according to its own crystalline little logic for a few minutes. It is no simple task to filter out the omnipresent anger and anxiety of everyday life these days. But Prairiewolf are out here making it seem easy.

Hi....If you don't mind, can I ask, what are your top 10 (or top 7) favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......Thanks....
If Iâm being honest, I have been more into just listening to music during my free time more than anything and while I read a lot of manga, my goldfish brain would blank out if someone were to ask me anything about it. However, I will tell you my list of definite rewatch/reread series though some of them are pretty old or obscure.
My Top 10 (in no particular order)
Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-Kun (manga/anime)
At first, I watched it mainly for the fun aesthetics (cute colourful characters with spooky backgrounds) but I fell in love with the characters and world-building of this series. The whole cast, be it main or supporting, are absolutely amazing and capable of running a story arc of their own even without the main cast which is seriously impressive. And while the anime only just scratched the surface, the author really built the setting of this series with great thought, with its own politics, history, systems, and culture that impacts the story well. No random fact is without purpose and I love it.
The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. (manga/anime)
Iâve been watching anime since I was 4 so I can confidently say that Iâm familiar with many classic anime tropes and cliches. This series is like a kudos to longtime anime fans with its jokes and jabs as it follows a strong psychic boy being absolutely done with the insanity of his life as he tries to keep his powers a secret from his schoolmates like a sports anime jock, a shojou girl, delinquent gone good, etc. The comedy coming from this deadpan omnipotent high school student is just an absolute delight. I kin Saiki so much
Nope (movie)
Iâm a real fan of horror movies, especially those with undertones that bring a critical element to humanity. While I love all of Jordan Peeleâs current works, Nope has got to be one of my favourite movies overall. Iâve heard of some of the criticisms people had with the film (pretty ironic ones too) but I personally love the pacing and suspense of the film. While itâs fun to watch monsters and killers get crazy from the get-go (thatâs why Saw movies and slasher films were popular) but Nope touched on that all-too-real fear of not knowing whatâs going to happen. That fear where youâre afraid but youâre not sure of what yet.
Petshop of Horrors (manga/anime) and the sequel Neo Petshop of Horrors (manga)
Speaking of horror with critical undertones, I was obsessed with this manga series that came out in the late 90s. I would try so hard to find a way to read this series every chance I could growing up. Itâs a sorta episodic style story that stars a mysterious petshop owner that often becomes a suspect in the deaths of people who have bought animals from his shop. I love the philosophy of each new story that touches on humanity and how different (or similar) we are to animals. It questions our societal norms, expectations, base desires, mythology, what it means to live, and what is âacceptableâ in our world. Unfortunately, the series was never fully translated and only published fewer copies than typical manga series due to reasons Iâm not too sure of (possibly conflicts with ownership and company copyrights at the time, think Baccano situation). The series had an anime but even that anime only had 4 episodes (I still highly recommend it however). Iâve managed to get a few volumes for myself and I know people are selling certain volumes online but I have to save for essentials so collecting them is unfortunately a lower priority now.
Pokémon (video game/manga/anime)
Is this a cop-out? Nah. To this day, I would still have to physically fight myself to not buy plushies and games when Iâm already broke af. PokĂ©mon might be one of the first animes I have ever seen (I have seen both sub and dub because my brother found a way) and I would still on occasion go back to rewatch literally any season and any movie of theirs, Nintendo really hit the marketing jackpot with this franchise. The creativity and design are so iconic and memorable that itâs so easy and fun to get into the fantasy of going on an adventure with your favourite PokĂ©mon. Thereâs of course some nostalgia at play since I loved the moments where my older brother would watch the movies with me and my cousin and I would collect the figurines together.
One Piece (manga/anime)
Is this also a cop-out? Donât care. I LOVE ONE PIECE! I will sacrifice my time and tears for this series. I have legitimately managed to rewatch this 4 times in my life (granted I started when it only had 400+ episodes so I had an easier time) and I would willingly cry over a flashback, a whale, even a boat over and over again. The action and ïżŒstory-telling of this series just keeps me running back for more even if I keep meeting dumb gatekeepers (yea, people donât believe me when I tell them Iâm a One Piece fan, what are ya gonna do?) I havenât watch the Netflix live action yet but I probably will once I get my friends to watch with me (I like to fangirl with friends~)
Forget my Husband, Iâll Go Make Money (manhwa)
Despite my blog probably being best known for the villain/ess series, the banner of my blog is not an isekai villainess story but a fantasy series where a woman who can see the past, present, and future tries to make money while being married to a foreign prince before expecting a divorce (because she assumed he rather marry for love than for political reasons). Fun fact, this series was actually one of the foundations when I was writing the villain/ess story for Leona. The art and main couple are just absolutely delightful, I canât help but reread it as it returns for a new season. Not only is the art just gorgeous, the main couple is just so gosh darn entertaining with their conversations, personal dynamics, and hilarious misunderstandings. Just beautiful.
Hotel Del Luna (K-drama)
Leave it to my interest in horror to love a romance drama with ghosts in it. Itâs funny, itâs cute, and some of the ghostâs backstory is heartbreaking as well. This is a great story to just have a nice cry out. I love the story, I love the music, but most importantly, I love IU! She is my queen and every scene she is in, she kills me with her fashion, her haughty character, and her tragic backstory. She and the male lead was such a fun twist of the typical k-drama relationship where she was the powerful but broken character who ended up being healed by the kind, hardworking character. I've watched this 3 times at this point, but I still cry Every. Single. Time. No exceptions.
Hell Girl (anime/manga)
If I havenât sold you on how I was probably that kid with creepy interests, maybe this will convince you. This was my go-to show back when I was in middle school. There is no excuse, I just really love the psychological horror of this series. In the show, there is a website you can access at midnight where you can ask Ai or Hell Girl to send your most hated person to hell, with the price that you will go there too when you die. While there was a linear storyline in the background, the episodes were always new people who requested Aiâs help with different cases of their own hell on earth. It touches on some really heavy real-life topics but what made it memorable to me was how sometimes I would feel saddened by the choices the people in the show made. Sometimes, theyâre in the situation where all they can do is curse someone to hell but then was it really worth losing your chance at a happier afterlife? I watched this show with some of my friends who either saw Ai as a villain for sending people to hell, or a saviour who helped these people find an escape from their torturer, and that honestly made me think about what it means to have that much hate in you. I always wondered if I was ever in that situation, what would I do if given the chance?
Big Hero 6 (movie)
Arguably the first Marvel-Disney movie since Disney bought Marvel, I remembered people having weird thoughts on the usually cartoony company taking over the superhero franchise but I fell in love with everything that was this movie. It had Marvel-style action mixed with classic Disney wholesomeness and gut-wrenching emotional moments. I loved the message and warmth that was in this movie. Having an older brother myself, I couldnât imagine how I could go on if I lose him but watching Hiro being so well supported by Baymax and his friends cemented within me the importance of helping others and that supporting those in pain can be as powerful as stopping bad guys (sappy, I know but hey Iâm now learning to be a preschool teacher so this really stuck with me). Tadashiâs recorded message brings me so much comfort that I didnât realize I needed. He may have been the closest thing to a Disney crush for me.

Horror Comedy of the Day: House (Hausu, 1977)
Gorgeous is a high-school student who wants to spend her vacation with her widowed father now that he's back from Italy. To her surprise, however, he's to be married a second time! She wants none of that, so she writes to her aunt if she can come over to her house in the mountain. As the vacation trip with a teacher is canceled, there's an opportunity for her friends to come along: Prof, Meoldy, Kung fu, Mac, Sweet and Fantasy. So they stay only to be greeted by a night of supernatural terror.
âŠand yes, they're called after their character archetypes which should be telling of what kind of film this is.
Described by the Criterion collection as âan episode of Scooby-Doo as directed by Mario Bava", this film by Nobuhiko Obayashi just defies logic on so many levels. Deliberately, actively and gleefully so too: it was heavily inspired by the nightmares and fears of his own daughter, who was consulted at multiple points to contribute to the script in a desire to create a style of horror that wasn't rooted on the rational.
To that effect it uses intentionally crude visual effects that make the film look like a literal collage, and some of the most eccentric editing choices. What you get feels like the result of throwing a live action re-enactment of a school life anime with incongruously placed music (and a sliver of fanservice too), a good dose of camp, the color design of freaking Suspiria and the occasional bit of martial arts in a blender with some LSD for good measure. In other words, absolute batshit insanity of the highest order, with the creepiness laying in how incomprehensible the fucked up things that actually do happen can get.
Seriously, if there's one thing that you can't deny is how creative it all is; not a single frame of this film is visually dull. Would you enjoy it though? Well, that depends how much you crave for surreal absurdity bursting at the seams from the strange ideas put into it.

Time for a full listen to all the Eesti Laul 2024 songs!
The reveal only gave us snippets of them all so I haven't done a proper ranking yet, so here we go! I'll listen to them all first, then you can find my rankings here!
1. 5miinust & Puuluup - "(nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (kĂŒll) midagi"
surprising no one, i fucking love this. this is what i want to win. this is what i want to go to malmo. nothing else left such an impact on me from the previews that were shown, and if spotify was still collecting data for my wrapped i assure you this would be my number 1 song. 10/10
2. Anet Vaikmaa - "Serotoniin"
i stand by my original opinion that the artist and the video are giving avril lavigne vibes, though the song isn't quite as rocky as avril. i don't remember my first impression of this one. it's fun enough, i like her voice. it doesn't feel like there's anything special it can pull on for fun staging or costume, so i'm not sure if i'd want it to win, but it's a nice enough song to listen to. 7/10
3. Antsud - "Vetevaim"
as a song, this is not my usual taste. as a potential eurovision entry, i love it. it's weird, it's whimsical, the staging and the costumes and the lighting all have such high huge potentials. i hope they don't just do the band standing around like they have in the music video, i hope they bring the phil is not on fire whiskers and do something insane. this has the potential to be either a huge let down, or be a surprise winner. a hopeful 8/10
4. Brother Apollo - "Bad Boy"
the only other song that got added to my esc '24 playlist from the preview alone. it doesn't take itself too seriously, but the song is still good. i hope they'll take that attitude into the performance, it could be really fun to watch. 8.5/10
5. Carlos Ukareda - "Never Growing Up"
look. the song is fine. i am a swiftie through and through, but if it sounds like it should be on debut it's probably not a eurovision song. for that, a very harsh 5.5/10
6. Cecilia - "FOMO"
this is (very faintly) giving me lights off vibes. i don't hate it. it doesn't stand out to me really as a eurovision song, but it's catchy, it's got a good beat, it's fun to dance to. 7.5/10
7. Daniel Levi - "Over the Moon"
it's a ballad, so i'm not immediately enthralled by it. however, this is a ballad that could grow on me. i think the staging will be beautiful, if the live vocals are polished and everything lines up, this could be a really strong contender. i don't want to admit it, but this is a 9/10
8. Ewert and the Two Dragons - "Hold Me Now"
this gives "dead last in the semi final" vibes, but there's an issue with that. the music video is clearly made up of videos of (what i assume to be) their fans, who've responded to a call from the artist asking for videos of people hugging to be submitted. and if that's the case, then they clearly have a lot of fans, so they'll get a lot of votes.
it's not a eurovision song. it doesn't build, it never really changes, it just feels so damn repetitive. it's boring. 4/10
9. Inga - "No Dog On a Leash"
the music video gives hatari vibes, the artist gives ke$ha vibes. i'm not sure the song is really something that stands out at all, but if the music video is anything to go by then i think the staging will capture people's attention. if her voice sounds good, the song itself might not matter that much. 7/10
10. Ingmar - "Dreaming"
i don't like this song. his voice is good! but the song just feels so boring. it's the usual schtick in a eurovision ballad, there's nothing that makes it stand out, and i just can't pretend there's anything about it that excites me. 5/10
11. Laura - "Here's Where I Draw the Line"
i also don't like this song. and i like it less than ingmar's song. 4.5/10
12. Multikas & Ewert Sundja - "Oblivion"
the opening is unsettling but in a way that makes me quite curious. i do think the song is a little bit underwhelming, personally? the intro really piqued my interest and i don't think the rest of the song holds that, which is a shame. 7/10
13. Nele-Liis Vaiksoo - "KĂ€te ĂŒmber jÀÀ"
admittedly, the song isn't for me: it's a ballad, no one is surprised by this. objectively, it's a fairly nice song. it doesn't feel special enough to really grow on me though, but it's not bad. and it's actually in estonian, which is always a bonus! 7/10
14. Ollie - "My Friend"
full disclosure, knowing that this is one of the more popular songs - and a real contender for malmo - i am naturally biased against it. i don't want it to win, so i'm probably going to be harsher on it than i have been with the other songs.
it's a darker version of venom, i think. it follows the same sort of structure (which, i have to imagine, is because it's the same artist xD). it's not got the eurovision pizzazz i like, and it's in english rather than estonian, but aside from that i don't think there's anything i can really critique. i will be fair and give it 9/10, but i will not be happy if it wins over (nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (kĂŒll) midagi
15. Peter PÔder - "Korra veel"
i am SO torn about this one. the song itself is pretty plain, the real selling point with it is the visuals. it could be great staging, but i don't think that would be enough to qualify in malmo. also, some of the graphics in the video are really off-putting. the merge from the guy's real face to his edited face is actually quite scary! i think i have to go 6/10 here
16. Silver Jusilo - "Lately"
this is just kind of boring. i don't think there's anything else to say here. 4/10
17. Sofia Rubina - "Be Good"
look, i'm not under any illusions that this is a good song. it's not even a good music video. they just got a bunch of scantily clad women to shake their butts and - for some reason - and american flag. i wrote those sentences with the hopes that there'd be a "but", but there isn't. it's bad. 3/10
18. Traffic - "Wunderbar"
y'know, i'm not quite sure how to feel about this one. it feels like it'll have fun staging, but it's another one that feels more like club music than eurovision. another one that gives me "lights off" vibes. the star in the video gives me vegas sphere vibes - that doesn't really do anything but i thought i'd mention it. 7/10
19. Uudo Sepp & Sarah Murray - "Still Love"
another one that's just a bit too boring for my taste. i don't really have anything else to say, again. the line "you live rent free in my heart" did make me cringe substantially, though. it does feel a bit like they're trying to be "down with the kids". 4.5/10
20. Yonna - "I Don't Know About You"
last but not least! at least, i hope not least.
usual ballad disclaimer. not my kind of thing, but objectively not a bad song. 6.5/10

you and I have very similar tastes in torture -- fixable stuff so we get the angst without the permanence. but seriously, Damian's been so close to accidentally turning himself quite a lot of times. poor guy.
The idea of Damian being a halfbie is so damn interesting, though. He's already strong and skilled as is, can't imagine just how powerful he'd be with zombie strength in his veins. Would he have the same crisis as gwinam? I think probably yes, but also. Cool zombie powers. So he'd at least try to look on the bright side of things, and being able to protect everyone better would help him a lot with dealing with the transformation.
Gwinam would be so indescribably hurt and furious at Damian's sacrifice, so I don't think he'd be the most helpful with the crisis. Maybe the relief of Damian being alive would help wash away the hurt, maybe not, but either way it would be so incredibly angsty. The guilt if it was gwi-nam's own weapon? My goodness. I'm insane about them. Anyways.
The rooftop fight with na-yeon would be so different too. Or would Damian disregard personal hygiene when he wakes up hybridized amd immediately seek out the others and join them as fast as he can? that seems more like what he'd want to do, but again, the thought of a shower is probably too good to pass up. He'd try and hurry it up, though, and I'd like to think he gets to the group in the music room right before they head to the roof. They'd be delayed for sure, but they probably already were when they got the news of his death, but they get to the roof in the end, anyways. They have their campfire, gwi-nam included. Would the military guys let Damian go when his temperature is probably too cold? they'd probably be less willing to let him go when it seems like he's sick, but I have trust in his negotiating skills. It'd be harder, but it would still work. Nam-ra, hyo-ryung, and i-sak still go, the rest of the kids let out their suffering and cry, although gwi-nan wouldnt. Or he'd square himself away from the others, looking out from the railing on the far end of the roof to get away from the others, trying to stop his tears from falling. he would probably still be upset with Damian for not going on the helicopter, but Damian talks him down after damians done crying and has collected himself enough to try and talk to gwi-nam. and to be honest, gwi-nam probably didn't want to be separated from Damian again even if it meant Damian would be in a safe place. He probably feels guilty about that, on top of his overwhelming guilt from not being able to protect Damian from the zombies and mr lee.
The fight with na-yeon would be a lot easier, as they're familiar with the existence of halfbies already, and Damian's newly-gained strength would also help a lot. But would na-yeon recognize that he's a hybrid? the infected can detect each other, so would the half infected recognize others? either way, though, I dont think there's any chance of her winning the fight when she's outnumbered and has another halfbie against her. I'd like to think ji-min survives this time, because she might be a bit of a bitch, but I want as many people as possible to live. Even if she probably treated damian with suspicion and fear when they all found iut that hes a half zombie, and still does. Probably only less than a handful of people are scared of him now, but there still are some. Anyways.
There would be no real need for the molotovs, but gwi-nam uses it anyway and na-yeon still falls off the roof on fire. He wasn't able to prevent his best friend from being murdered, like hell is he gonna let Damian fight alone and put himself in even more danger . He's already failed once, and he'll make sure it doesn't happen again even at the expense of his own death. And gwi-nam succeeds! na-yeon is gone, at least for now, and the roof is still safe.
The group stays for longer, and even goes back to an uneasy sleep after all that, but obviously Damian stays up and stands guard. Na-yeon got very close to her goal, and he needs to make sure she never gets the chance again. He doesn't really need as much sleep as the rest of them, anyway, and got his fill with those first 4ish hours before her arrival.
Eventually, him and gwi-nam are the only ones awake, and I think they'd talk. I'm not sure about what, I don't think they'd get to the deep emotional stuff when everyone is right there, even if they're asleep. But theyd probably never do so if they dont do it now, so maybe they do, and they move to one of those far roof corners and Damian, emotionally exhausted even if physically he's fine, and gwi-nam, who's both emotionally and physically tired, finally somewhat alone, and a lot of confessions happen. damian comes out to gwi-nam for sure, and they have the same, or at least a similar, talk as they did in canon. Or your fic's canon, I guess. I hope you don't kind me writing what is basically a fanfic of your fanfic in your inbox. Maybe it would be a little bit of a roleswap, instead, and gwi-nam talks about his dad first in addition to whatever else is said. I'm bad at dialogue so I've got no idea what they'd say at all, really, but this moves the plot along so we'll go with it.
The morning eventually comes, and maybe gwi-nam's reluctantly gone to sleep at damian's insistence. The class wakes up, and there's nothing to do but wait for the helicopter that they don't even know will come. They eat, find something to do, maybe play a couple games and entertain themselves, when cheong-san or su-hyeok or probably even Damian himself remembers the laptop and slight boredom prompts him to think about retrieving it from the science lab. He's shot down by arguments of "We can just tell them where the laptop is and what's on it, there's no need to risk ourselves for it," and "we don't have his finger prints, what the fuck would we gain from doing that when they're way more prepared than us to go on a rescue mission for it?" so he backs down, but they stay the whole damn day and night up there, with blessedly little worries about zombies or revenge-crazed ex classmates or the death of a friend and it's tomorrow at around late afternoon with still no sign of a rescue team. They're good on food, and they're safe, but god is it still boring. The still constant threat of na-yeon and the regular zombies is also on everyone's minds. The scenery is also ruined by their many zombified, bloody classmates, but some people still look past that and at the forest surrounding the area. Theres almost no blood, as long as they only look at the tops of the trees. Damian's dealing with the hunger for flesh, but other than that he's. Fine. Ish. Not really, but no one's fine right now and he wants to make sure they're safe so he pretends to be fine, as he's wont to do.
I still haven't figured out how they get the laptop, but I'm thinking either mr lee shows up at the roof, forcing them all out, or the principal, in all his stupidity, does and gets himself killed in the process. Actually, never mind, how fucked up would it be if helicopters arrived the day right after the first one and had enough space for everyone except Damian and gwi-nam, no matter their insistence on the other getting on, so the helicopters are forced to leave those two behind, just for the bit of time itll take for another helicopter to arrive and get them to safety, and immediately after they've left the principal arrives and floods the roof with zombies as he was too loud when coming up and has a whole crowd of them at his heels when he went through the door, and also still gets killed in the process, so those two are forced back into it and decide they may as well get the laptop anyway and then ensues the chase with Mr lee. There would be less need for the parkour, as the rest of the group is safe, but Damian still has gwi-nam to protect.
I'm trying to keep this as canon compliant as I can, since I struggle with making changes in general, so they have the fight and gwi-nam is able to shoot mr lee. He falls out of the window, just like in canon, and gwi-nam severs it with his knife.
Unfortunately for me we can't get the "find a private spot for us?" comment, but it's there in spirit.
Things go on as in canon, although Damian's a bit rushy since. Yknow. Despite the cool zombie powers that hes enjoying, he's still going through a crisis (although less intense than gwi-nam's) and he's cold, and he's hungry. He's hopeful, though, and is so damn happy they found out about the benzodiazepines.
he wants to rush to the infirmary as soon as he remembers it being there, but still takes some time since he knows gwi-nam's tired out and isn't really fit to fight. He still would, and doesn't want to admit his tiredness, but Damian can tell, so they stay in that broom closet close together for a little while. The zombies are scattered throughout the school, of course, and since they didn't parkour through the whole thing, there are still many clusters of zombies close by. Damian draws the diagram but is still not the most familiar with the layout, so gwi-nam helps and they devise a path to the infirmary. It surprisingly goes smoothly, other than Damian kicking the calculator when distracted by just how loud the human body is and killing the zombie that's still too close after throwing the calculator through the window. I'm removing a lot of romantic elements here but I truly don't think Damian would've thought of the blood thing and probably would've just killed the thing with a scalpel. Or, ideally, maybe he's too affected by the loudness of the person with him to think about killing, and ends up covering gwi-nam with his blood to mask the scent of an uninfected human.
They pass a room gwi-nam remembers and suddenly ducks into, worrying Damian for a but before he sees the goldfish. Every single one, still alive, and still in a too-small tank. He comes up with an eloquent fish metaphor but I'm not eloquent enough to make one rn so it'll be up to your imagination. I cant figure out how they'd confess because Damian doesn't have as much fear as gwi-nam does of the other leaving him, so maybe they don't and just stay watching the fish together for some time. Maybe Damian wipes his blood off of gwi-nam's face, and one thing leads to another and we get the confession we want, but I can't figure out how thay would go. It still happens, though. You were right about them either confessing now or never even thinking about confessing for the rest of time.
The newly together couple make their way to the infirmary with no roadblocks, Damian realising they've missed the helicopter that was supposed to pick the 2 of them up but not really caring because hes on top of the world right now, and they find the benzodiazepine that they left earlier.
Now, does he take the pill then and there, or not? he pockets it, but he wants to still be able to protect gwi-nam, and so he decides not to take it, just until they're in an actually safe place. They gather up whatever other supplies are there, although they left very few in there from their first run. It's still useful enough.
We're past canon, now, so I'm gonna take creative liberty and say they get back on the roof, medicine and laptop (with the severed hand) in hand, and Damian leads the zombies away from it, gwi-nam killing any stragglers, and they wait until night for the next helicopter, which has the soldiers from the first night, who were there specifically to stage a rescue mission into the school for these two but were happy to find both of them alive and well.
They finally make it to the camp. They're finally safe. There's a cure. Damian almost breaks down into tears at the sight of his class, but manages to suppress it. he's told the soldiers about the cure, and tells them everything he's figured out so far from the videos. I don't think he'd tell them about him being a halfbie, but it's a close thing. He'd talk about na-yeon and Mr lee, though.
The benzodiazepines speed up the process of finding a cure by a lot, and Damian finds out that, while he throws up anything that isn't raw meat while he's still a hybrid, he can eat just fine while using it.
He's safe. All the others are safe. The world is safe, now that there's a cure. His boyfriend is safe. There will inevitably be some words exchanged between him and his parents, but. Everyone he's tried so hard to protect is okay, and he's okay, so what more could he ask for, really? he didn't realise how much weight was on his shoulders until he could transfer it to the soldiers and leave them in charge of the safety of his loved ones. There will be breakdowns and crying and so much therapy needed for everyone, but right now they're all safe and provided for.
This is a lot longer than i was expecting it to be, but I got carried away thinking about your last response to my ask and three hours later I have this to give to you. Sorry. I wrote this stream-of-consciousness out in one draft and have to send it as is. I think I'm gonna reread your fic again, because I've infected myself with the brainworms that demand more of damian. Thank you for inspiring me to do this, thank you for writing the fic in the first place, and thank you. Just. Thank you. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
it would be so fun to play around with the perspective of a hybrid character and i really was tempted to go there as i was writing my fic but hadn't settled on an ending yet. i unfortunately held myself back due to growing up in the "we hate mary sues" era of fanfic where i feel like i have to really justify anything "cool" my character does (and has to be balanced out with sufficient suffering to uh, "earn" it i suppose?) which isn't the best mindset to have with writing since limiting ur freedom is wack.
damian would def have some moral philosophical crisis bubbling in the underneath, but i think he would just push it all down even more forcefully than he does all his other issues and be a big ball of repressed angst as he tries very hard to act both normal (socially) and normal (human) - which would all get shattered during the moment where damian is like. a hair's breaths away from eating gwinam alive (romantically/literally lol)
gwinam would ABSOLUTELY be trying to force damian onto the helicopter, but damian would refuse for the reasons he does in the canon fic as well as the fact that he could never bring himself to leave when he's already infected, so isnt it his job to take every hit and take every risk to protect his human friends? he died protecting gwinam, except he's still alive, so isnt that a sign that damian should be using this after life to keep protecting him?
and that's where some of gwinams anger and guilt would come in bc he can see that damian has this...hint of desperate need to save everyone, and gwinam cant do the same anymore. at least in gwinam's head, he's not the stronger one. hes better at fighting and taking out zombies than anyone, except the one person he wants to do it for - but now damian doesnt need him. (gwinams wrong, of course, bc damian very much needs him, but thatll take some angst to get through)
if nayeon still comes to the roof (bc i had like 2 dif time lines set up before settling on keeping damian human) i think damian would refuse to sleep in favor of guarding the group from the beginning (he thinks he doesn't need to sleep and is wrong lol). he would sit with his back to the door so he can watch everyone sleep. when he hears steps and someone rattling the door, he'd probably spark up a conversation to verify if its a human, before noticing the strange not-human-not-zombie scent, and freezing up. still, nayeon is clearly conscious, so he'd let her in under her excuse of wanting to talk things out with anyone. so damian would wake everyone up while nayeon walks towards gyeongsu, damian glancing to the side to see how the apology would go, and then spotting that hungry look on her face, would cross the rooftop in seconds and tackle her. honestly, rather than ji min, damian might get pulled over the roof in the fight that ensues - if it weren't for gwinam carrying the molotovs, and saving damian at the last second. *insert kdrama ost as they stare romantically into each others eyes, tearing up and worrying over the other in a totally no homo way trust me bro*
this time gwinam refuses to take no for an answer and stays up with damian, sitting with their backs to the door and half leaning against each other while they watch the sky. and oh my god yeah i love the idea of the roleswap!! after fighting nayeon, gwinam would get over some of his complex about not being able to protect damian, and admit to himself that he actually kind of likes having someone willing to fight for him - "but you're still never allowed to pull that dying shit again, you fucking here me? you're staying right by my side where i can keep my eyes on you." - so gwinam (who pretty much just shit talked all the gang members during the campfire earlier) finally admits some details about himself that damian had always speculated on. they unfortunately find themselves commiserating over that kind of treatment, but they both have struggled to be vulnerable to someone for so long that it's extremely cathartic. as much as gwinam tries to fight to stay awake, he's exhausted, so damian would take off his jacket and lay it over gwinam like a blanket as the other boy fell asleep on his shoulder. damian would watch gwinam sleep for a while, finding comfort in the sound of his even heartbeat, and unintentionally fall asleep himself. isnt being lulled to sleep by the heartbeat of your not-boyfriend just super platonic?
you're totally right that they should just stay on the roof, find something to occupy their minds with, and wait it out. if i had gone this route, i might have found some way to stir up drama (as is the curse of being in a tv show, everything has to be entertaining and no one can just, sit there and act rationally) and mr. lee tracking them down is certainly one of them - you've found the split paths! the fight on the roof was either going to be mr lee or nayeon, but i eventually decided mr lee would work better as a later stage boss, and nayeon could be the mid boss lmao. if the helicopters have limited space, damian absolutely stays, and gwinam also absolutely stays, bc u cant separate these two. however, maybe cheonghyeok would also get stuck, just for funsies idk.
since gwinam is in charge of hand-cutting duty this time, damian is absolutely mentally swooning at how romantic his bff roughly slicing a man's hand off is. LMAO maybe we can still get the iconic line, since Damian is still nosy and wants to learn more abt the virus (and himself) so -
"Hey." Damian turns towards Gwinam, mindful of the zombies below them as he lowers his voice to a sotto murmur. "There's a room upstairs that's quiet and pretty isolated. We shouldn't be interrupted, so let's head up there."
Gwinam's head whips around to Damian, wide eyed and pulse jumping in his chest. "We shouldn't be - what." The boy must have been deep in thought if Damian's hushed tone could startle him so bad.
"We shouldn't be interrupted as we look at the laptop." Damian explained, gesturing to the backpack he had slung over his shoulder.
Gwinam squeezed his eyes shut and covered his face with his hands. "Of course. For the laptop." The boy muttered.
"There's no need to be embarrassed." Damian chuckled at the boy's blush, softly pulling Gwinam's hands away from his face and keeping one to hold. "It's an apocalypse, being jumpy is normal. C'mon, I'll take you to the place." Damian tugged at Gwinam's hand and started leading them up the stairs.
(Gwinam clearly had been exhausted from all the running around school and fighting Mr. Lee. His heartbeat hadn't returned back to it's normal speed, still thudding at an elevated pace as they walked through the halls.)
oh, did anyone think damian would be less oblivious now that he was the one with zombie powers? no, not at all. he's actually even more dense now, willfully so.
ooo and the calculator scene from his perspective?? it would be twice as long, not bc it takes more time, but bc from inside damian's mind we would get a ton of detail about evrything his enhanced senses pick up. what the clicking in the halls mean, how recently some of the corpses died, but most of all, all of the tiny details damian is slightly obsessively stocking up on about gwinam. everything about his scent, his voice, and some of damian's terrified inner turmoil of wanting to be close to his friend but constantly pulling himself away out of fear for those moments when the hunger and the cold grows too strong. hiding gwinam's human scent with his would help him with that incessant need to bite the boy's neck, but damian would still be utterly captivated by the sight and scent of gwinam covered with damian's blood. a lot more horror romance lmao
for the same reason as eunji does in the show, i think damian would duck into the fish room bc its so many living heart beats - but they're not human, so wouldn't it be okay if damian ate one? just a bite, or two, or three? the hunger would come back full force as they stand and stare at the water, and damian would feel very guilty for wanting to hurt the fish but also getting mildly desperate to curb his cravings. he's definitely leaving nail-indents in his arms from how hard hes clutching them with his hands, staring at gwinam's reflection in the tank. honestly, i have no idea how the confession would go at this point. i dont think it would happen here, as damian is way too insecure in his inhumanity to feel like he could ever impose those feelings onto gwinam. gwinam, on the other hand...mmm hehe i think he would end up being stuck as the one trying to figure out how to confess. idk how yet, but its def gwinams turn this go around
aww i love the ending you wrote for past canon as well. honestly, you're not too far off - there will just be a few dramatic surprises to wrap up before my epilogue hehe. i absolutely loved your long ask btw never apologize for sending, tysm for sharing your ideas, they help me refine mine!! <333

Halo: Combat Evolved + Halo 2 Review
youtube
HALO: As a kid I begged my parents to get me an Xbox 360 so I could play Halo 3 because at the time especially to a like. However old I was somewhere around like 8 to 12 year old seeing the ads and stuff for Halo 3 was basically like seeing Jesus Christ resurrected in the flesh performing miracles. There was literally nothing cooler. Eventually this did work and I got it for christmas and although I hadnât played 1 and 2 I got right ot playing the campaign for that game and ever though I had to turn the dialogue off by playing music through the 360âs ability to burn disks I play it listening to Now Thatâs What I Call Music and ABBA Greatest Hits albums and it was the first time in my life I had ever known there was peak in this world. I would eventually go on to play ODST Reach and 4 but I stopped after that and also never actually went back to play 1 or 2âŠ.until just now. I played on the Master Chief Collection with the updated graphics and obviously most of the story stuff didn't surprise me I already knew about the flood I knew about Guilty Spark so some of the surprise stuff didnât get me get me and while the gameplay isnât like the most advanced obvious man its just so cool. A very atmospheric game and with world and design space that at the time was like just not being done anywhere near this level. Probably worth playing solely based on the fact that is an undeniable classic and one of the most influential fps of its time. I have said before I sometimes struggle with the âfor its timeâ kind of looking at things (i.e. Psycho was making people faint and shit their pants and call the cops in the 60s but I literally canât take it seriously at all [exaggeration]) but this is one where its like sure by more modern storytelling standards the Halo 1 story isnât fantastic but I was pretty surprised by how good it was they did a great job of constructing a great world with granted pretty average characters and using that to make a pretty good story while leaving things a little open for the possibility for more in the future
HALO 2: The graphics in this are so crazy because its like even on the new graphics Halo 1 is pretty normal and like I remember Halo 3 it doesnât look that crazy but New Halo 2 looks fucking crazy like thats just a like a real ass human woman sheâs real they didnât code her she entered the digital world and did all this. I literally couldnât even tell she was Miranda from 3 because Iâm not used to her looking so real. Also insane that people at the time this originally released did not like Arbiter and that made them change some of the things they were planning in Halo 3. Absolutely ludacris take. Heâs so fucking cool how do you not like playing as him. His story is like 10 times better than Chief's too. Personally I donât even mind that the game ends on an incredibly sudden and not even very good cliffhanger in the context of how 3 starts its a little silly because not a lot happens early game Halo 3 but itâs fine within the context of Halo 2. The actual story is probably the best out of the main trilogy obviously Iâm way more nostalgic for 3 thatâs my favorite story I even like the level Cortana. But this one is really good probably the only thing close to a complaint I have about this game is I donât like the bug enemies in this one the drones I really don't like how they have like a strangely high amount of heath it just feels weird considering they're bugs I prefer how 3 does it where theres way more of them and they donât have that much health individually. Also for this game I did occasionally switch to the old graphic and I will say while I do prefer the updated look I think there are some sections where the atmosphere was a little better in the original you know like some things were lit in a more interesting way or whatever but overall I kept the updated graphic on and liked those. This one was more fun than Halo 1 because even though they both had some levels that were like way too long this one did a better job of not making you feel like you were wasting your life in The Library. Like sure this game has a very similar level but like itâs just so crazy they made you do 3 levels of the Library for basically no reason.

the only complaint i can really leverage is the poor performance in certain areas. two cities are particularly bad, as is, somehow, the entire lake in the northern area of the map. outside of those areas, though, the game runs pretty well. it didn't crash a single time. if there was noticeable lag, i would simply fast travel to mesagoza and then back to where i was and the problem was solved within 30 seconds. excepting cascarrafa, of course. fuck that place.
all that aside, though, i think everything else was good and solid. the base game has 400 pokemon in the dex, and even without multiplayer you can pretty reasonably get over 370 of them. for comparison, that's pretty close to as many as you could get in pokemon emerald without any trading. each of the pokemon has a good quality model, though personally i think some of the texturing can be hit or miss.
the story is absolutely incredible. it's slow to get going, but once you've done a couple of titans and a star base or two, it really gets good, and tells two meaningful and impactful stories with very good characters. the league challenge is a weak spot, in my opinion.
the terastallization gimmick is fine. it doesn't feel bad to interact with, it's fair, and there's lots of potential deep strategy involved that the game really doesn't adequately touch on. the impact is honestly kind of underwhelming, and i found myself only occasionally using it. with that said, though, reading an opponent's tera and countering feels insanely good.
the sandwiches are... fine. as a temporary buff effect, they're an extremely inexpensive solution that can full heal your team almost anywhere in the game and give you a half hour of benefits that range from unnoticeable to extremely impactful. mostly i will chow down on an encounter rate buff to seek out a specific pokemon (eg. eating an encounter rate dark meal to find bisharps to evolve my own bisharp into kingambit) and ignore almost every other effect. egg power is useful for collecting eggs. shiny power is good for hunting shinies, but you can't do that until postgame unless you have friends in the postgame.
the sandwich minigame is bad. like, unacceptably horrible. everything about it is a failure, from top to bottom. if you've not seen it before; you have a selection of ingredients to put in the sandwich. you put your cursor over the ingredient, hold a, drag it over the bread, and release a. the ingredient falls a short distance and settles. every individual ingredient is a physics object. they interact with every other ingredient. this doesn't matter for sandwiches made with three strawberry halves and a few slices of banana, but when you're dealing with slabs of bacon as thick as a bowl of oatmeal and mysteriously solid chunks of potato salad, things start getting... difficult. and then you top it with a second slice of bread, or, as many seasoned sandwich-makers will do, throw the top slice away because putting it on top might destroy the delicate balance and waste ingredients. oh, and to be entirely clear, there is zero indication of where the ingredient you're holding is going to fall, you have no rotational control, so you just need to guess. fucking guess.
the music is fucking incredible. seriously. i cannot stress enough just how absolutely stunning the composition in this game is. toby fox knocked it out of the park. beware the credits song though because it's ed sheeran. instead, listen to the team star battle theme. seriously. go.
overall, I'm giving pokemon scarlet and violet the official silver candy seal of approval as a good game that comes well recommended. out of 10, I'll give it a solid 7.4 because i do think it's significantly better than many other games I've played, but it falls short of others that i dearly love.
having completed the main story of pokemon violet, i can say without hesitation, sarcasm, or doubt that i enjoyed it a lot, and that it is genuinely a very good pokemon game.

Meeting the Team (Team Dad Cinnabar AU)
Inspired by @hailfire17's Cinnabar AU
When the disguised Gabriel Agreste had approached ChloĂ© Bourgeois in the aftermath of her outburst to her mother, heâd been prepared for several responses to his offer. From an outright rejection, to suspicious curiosity, to immediate agreement.
He most definitely had NOT expected her to size him up, nod, and start dragging him along to another room in Le Hotel de Grand Paris.
And he was not at all prepared for when she flung open the door to reveal a collection of half-a-dozen teenagers, and for her to declare to them âEveryone, we have an actual mentor now!â, a statement which drew the roomâs full attention.
ââŠChloĂ©, what the hell?!â a very familiar redhead in a red-and-black suit exclaimed in disbelief. âHalf of us are transformed right now, you canât justââ
âWhat do you mean, âan actual mentorâ?â the even MORE familiar blonde boy beside her interrupted, and Gabriel had to fight to not give himself away and demand to know what on earth his SON was doing in here playing video games with LADY ROSE.
âEveryone, this isâactually Iâm not sure what his name is yet, he never mentioned it, but heâs claiming to be a former superhero and was offering to train me. I figured it would be Nice of me to extend the invitation to the whole team.â
Gabriel was absolutely speechless, attempting to process what the Bourgeois girl had just said.
The whole team?
What did she mean, âthe whole teamâ?!
ââŠWait, so not just the guardianâs weird âdoesnât actually tell us anythingâ teaching?â an unfamiliar, short-haired brunette asked, looking interested. âWell, sign me up!â
âI agree with Lyle.â Ryuko, the Dragon of Tokyo, got up from the beanbag where she had been sitting, inspecting the man. âA more active teacher would be beneficial for us allâeven with my own prior experience in heroism.â
âGuys, will you keep it down? Iâm watching something!â The ginger boy looked up from his computer just long enough to shoot the room a glare, before going right back to what heâd been doing.
âOkayâseriously, Derek, just stop,â Lady Rose grumbled. âNone of us care about those stupid Minecraft videos youâre obsessed with! You can watch them when we ARENâT with the team!â
âLily, shut up! Youâre one to talkââ
âLook, the majority of us actually LIKE Vocaloid!â
âSorry about those two, theyâre siblings. They get like this a lot.â Adrien shook his head. âI think becoming heroes made both their self-control worse, but then again, I only met Lily AFTER sheâd become the new Ladybug, so who knows.â
âLOOK JUST BECAUSE YOU DONâT LIKE IT DOESNâT MEAN I HAVE TO STOP LISTENING TO IT!â
âLily! Chill! You too, Derek. We donât want another LynelMaster.â
âHonestly, though, Iâd pay a lot to see Lily commit arson again,â the pink-haired rabbit hero Bunnix admitted from where she was lying on the couch. âI wish one of us had filmed that.â
âŠDear goodness, what had he gotten himself into.
ChloĂ© groaned. âWill everyone please pay attention?â she said with a huff, clapping her hands. Turning to the man, she sighed, rolling her eyes. âI only just joined this utterly insane group yesterday, but Iâve already seen enough to know that we desperately need adult supervision.â
Gabriel had barely been there five minutes, and had already come to the same conclusion.
âI can believe that,â he replied, shaking his head. âWhat I canât believe is that these are the heroes who have been defending Paris for the past few monthsâŠâ
âItâs very hard to take in, yes. Honestly, I nearly had an existential crisis yesterday learning that Lady Rose is the same girl who keeps asking me for Vocaloid music recommendations in class. But thatâs nothing compared to the one I had after learning Adrien was Chat Noirââ
Chloé kept talking, but Gabriel heard none of it after the absolute bombshell she had just dropped.
Adrien.
His son.
Was CHAT NOIR?!
If the disaster that was Style Queen hadnât already made him swear off being Hawk Moth anymore, this revelation would have done so in a heartbeat.
Heâd been fighting against his own son.
For MONTHS.
âŠHe needed to sit down.
ââthing I will admit is that Lyle coming out suddenly felt a lot less out of nowhere once I learned they were Piccola Volpeâwait, where are you going?â
Gabriel managed to keep his composure as he strode across the room to an empty armchair, before immediately collapsing into it, holding his head in his hands.
âYouâŠyouâre all just children,â he finally managed to breathe out. âThe heroes of Paris. Are all teenagers. Who in the world ever thought it was okay to give this responsibility to actual CHILDREN?!â
He couldnât believe it.
All this time, heâd assumed they were in Lycee at the LEAST, and more likely even older than that.
But no.
These were CollĂšge students. 13, maybe 14 at the most. And the boy at the computer looked even YOUNGER, maybe 11 or so.
He had been fighting.
Children.
And one of them was his son.
Forget trying to train a new Hawk Moth to take his place.
These children needed an adult.
And apparently, the burden of being that adult had now unwittingly fallen on him.
Him, the supervillain that had been terrorizing them.
Most likely the least qualified person alive to take care of them.
Gabriel Agreste had most definitely not signed up for this.

World's Most Beautiful Mirror | Episode 3
Immediately after Shinobu Sengoku encountered "Byakuya Aoi". Coffee Shop in the downtown area

Shinobu: I see...
In short, you intend to use the substitution technique, correct?
Yuuta: Yeah but, I don't intend to do everything in a ninja way.
Shinobu: That was the kind of character I was thinking of.
Yuuta: That character is important indeed but...
For our part, or rather for my part, I'd like to do something to get back at the producer who once disrespected 2wink.
Shinobu: When you say "producer", you mean Volcano Island's, right?
Yuuta: Yeah. Do you know them too? I guess they're really famous...?
Shinobu: For your information, I've checked out every single programme that Yuuta-kun has been on.
Yuuta: The public only knows that the "older brother Hinata" appeared on that show, though?
Shinobu: That seems to be the case. But I overheard something about them not knowing for sure whether it was Hinata-kun or Yuuta-kun who performed.

Yuuta: Ooh, as expected of a ninja. You know a lot.
Shinobu: Fufun. I'm still inexperienced compared to Yuuki-dono and the others, but I have a habit of keeping my antenna up and collecting information, especially on matters that interests me.
By the way, I collect not only information, but also 2wink's goods as much as possible. That's one of the reasons I run out of money fast.
Aaah, is it gross to collect your friends' goods like that...?
Yuuta: Waiter! Give this person the most expensive drink in this shop!
Shinobu: I-I told you I'm short of money, didn't I? I'm seriously broke because I bought my favourite comic book!
Yuuta: No need, I'll be happy to pay for it.
Shinobu: Uuurgh, I don't really like the idea of a friend offering to pay for my sake, though...
Yuuta: Really? I've never had a proper friend before, so I don't really know...?
...Anyway, the reason behind the making of "Byakuya Aoi" was because of my intention to leave that producer of Volcano Island in shock.
Shinobu: I don't really get what the "anyway" is all about. In fact, I had no idea what's with all the clowning earlier.

Yuuta: Uhh, it's hard to explain. Even Aniki looked all gibberish at first.
I thought it was a nice idea, but people don't seem to get it.
I'm not used to it because it's rare for me to act on my own initiative. That's why I usually fail in those cases.
Shinobu: This feels like the story about a guy who went looking for grapes and almost died that I heard long ago.
Yuuta: Hm... I should probably explain everything to you thoroughly.
Alright then. The "producer" seriously piss me off.
Shinobu: Is it because they only let one of you perform even though 2wink is a twin idol unit?
Yuuta: Yeah. I still get frustrated because I don't understand the point of it.
Shinobu: Favourably interpreted. In a well-known music show that's competing for performance slots.
I think it was a kind of gesture to at least get one of the brothers out (separated) for once.
I don't think that it was their intention to harass you two in the first place?

Yuuta: If you've been hurt, even if it wasn't malicious, it's still assault.
So I'm just going to give the same amount of hurt to that "producer" who hurt me.
However, the opponent is not an easy one to fight.
That person seems to be a well-known "producer" with contacts in the industry, and it'd be a big risk if we come to him head-on, we might even lose our jobs.
That's why, I've decided to be cautious.
If we were to appear on Volcano Island, we would have to meet with that person, the "producer".
Even if it's a no-meeting, no-show event, there should always be an opportunity to meet and greet each other.
Shinobu: If it's a Yumenosaki project, it's almost impossible to have a performance without rehearsal... Yumenosaki's common sense is the world's insanity.
Yuuta: Yeah. I've come to understand that very well over the past years.
Like, I don't have to set up the stage or do things myself, I just need to practice every time. And so, my experience at Yumenosaki may actually get in the way.

[Luka X fem!Reader] Of Guitar Picks and Ladders
âHey (y/n)!â Juleka called and you ran over to the dark haired girl.
âWhatâs up?â you questioned when you got close enough to her and Rose.
âWeâre gonna practice tonight,â she told you, then looked at you quizzically, âyou coming?â
âOf course!â you answered with a smile, âmiss my favorite band? No way!â
Rose smiled, âare we really your favorite band?â
âAre you sure youâre not biased?â Juleka teased with a grin.
You sheepishly rubbed the back of your neck, âmaybe a little.â Your family had been friends with the Couffaines for as long as you could remember, so it was a given that you were best friends with the Couffaine kids, Juleka and Luka. Plus, the fact that you harbored a huge crush on Luka didnât help your case that you werenât biased. âWhen do you guys think youâre going to get a gig?â
âWe are going to be participating in the upcoming music festival.â Rose told you.
âWhat?â you gasped and looked at your two friends with wide eyes, âno way! Thatâs so awesome! When were you going to tell me?â
âHaha, oops.â Juleka sheepishly commented.
âShould we get going now?â Rose asked. You and Juleka nodded and the three of you walked towards the Couffaine residence.
...
âMom Iâm home!â Juleka called out as she dropped her bag onto the floor, âRose and (y/n) are with me!â
âOkay!â Julekaâs mom replied.
âWeâve got a couple hours to kill right? We could knock out our homework.â You suggested. Unlike Juleka, you and Rose still had your bags on.
âThatâs true.â She nodded and picked her bag up, âweâll go to my room.â You and Rose nodded and followed Juleka to her room. On your way to her room, you passed by Lukaâs room.
âKnock knock.â You called as you knocked on the door frame. The door was slightly ajar and you could see Luka inside.
His eyes opened and his gaze fell upon you, âhey (y/n).â
âJust wanted to say hi.â You smiled, âweâre gonna do homework before you guys practice.â
âHey, you wanna see something cool?â he asked and beckoned you to come into his room.
âSure.â You nodded and pushed the door open. He went to his collection of picks and pulled out one of them from itâs spot on the wall. He then put it in your hand so you could see.
You gasped, âno way.â
âYes way.â He grinned.
âYou got one of the limited edition Jagged Stone picks?â You asked as you examined the small piece of plastic, âthatâs insane! Howâd you get it?â
He pretended to nonchalantly shrug, âjust a friend.â
âThatâs so cool!â you gushed. You werenât exactly a guitar player, but you did keep up with what was happening in the music world. If only to keep up with what Luka was talking about.
â(y/n)!â you heard your name being called, âweâre going to start our homework without you!â Rose shouted.
You blanched, Ms. Mendeleev gave some hard homework for tonight and you did not want to miss help with that. âSorry, Iâve got to go.â You gave him back his pick, âIâll talk to you later though!â you waved at him before you darted to Julekaâs room.
âWhat were you doing with my brother?â Juleka teased with a knowing look.
âHe was just showing me his Jagged Stone pick.â You answered with your face buried in your bag as you looked for your homework and to hide your blush.
âWhat really?â Juleka gasped, âhe hasnât even shown me that!â
âWait what?â you asked in confusion and you looked out of your bag to face her, âseriously?â
âHe must really like you then.â Rose grinned.
âThatâs very kind of him.â You answered nonchalantly but buried your head in your bag again.
âDoes (y/n) have a crush?â Rose cooed.
âNot so loud!â you shushed her and worriedly looked at the closed door to Julekaâs room.
âSo you do!â Rose squealed and you winced as she did the exact opposite of what you wanted her to do.
âI donât!â you vehemently tried to argue back, but it wasnât doing much good. Roseâs love radar was up and active.
âAnd itâs on my brother.â Juleka looked at you in shock.
âNo, no, itâs not.â You desperately tried to calm the situation down.
Juleka smiled, âweâre totally setting the two of you up.â
âPlease donât.â You hid your face in your hands.
âYou guys would be so cute together!â Rose gushed.
âGuys.â You whined, âdonât we have homework to do?â
âNu-uh, this is more important.â Juleka replied and shoved all of your books and notes aside.
You groaned and fell onto the ground, âwhy? Ms. Mendeleev will be furious if we donât do our homework! And you have practice later today.â
âShe has a point.â Juleka nodded and Rose sullenly agreed.
âBut donât think weâre forgetting about this!â Rose brightened up. You just groaned.
...
âI just realized something,â Luka sat down next to you.
âHuh?â you asked him dumbfounded, had he already figured out that you had a massive crush on him? You had only come to terms with it a couple hours ago.
âYou always come to our practices.â He remarked thoughtfully.
You silently let out a sigh of relief, but then resisted the urge to hit the black and blue haired boy. He just now realized that? âWell of course I do. You guys are my favorite band! So Iâm going to show my support!â you grinned.
âYour favorite band?â he looked down at you dubiously but you could tell he was laughing on the inside, âand thereâs nothing biased about that statement.â
âJuleka said the exact same thing.â You whined, âmaybe itâs a little biased.â
âA lot biased!â Rose shouted with a grin. Your eyes widened and you glared at her with your hand up to your neck in the universal sign that you were going to kill her when this entire thing was done.
He laughed as he clearly saw the sign you gave Rose, âwell anyways. Iâm glad to have you here supporting us.â He stood up, âI should go help set up. Talk to you later.â He waved.
As soon as he was out of earshot you turned to Rose, âRose Iâm going to kill you!â
âWhat why?â she asked in shock, âI havenât done anything yet!â
â(y/n)! I need your help!â Juleka called. You ran over to her, âcan you help hang this up?â she handed you a roll of streamers.
âWhy do you need this up?â you asked and held it up.
âBecause of the aesthetic.â She answered simply then patted the ladder next to you.
You sighed, you still didnât understand but she knew what she was doing. You climbed onto the steps of the ladder as she held the ladder. You were starting to tape up the streamers when the ladder suddenly shook and you lost balance and fell off the ladder. You screamed and shut your eyes in preparation to his the ground when you realized you didnât hit anything hard, but you had stopped falling. You opened up an eye and was met with blue. âOh, hi Luka.â You stuttered.
He let you down back on your feet, âyou should be more careful, you couldâve died.â He lectured.
âBlame Juleka, she was the one holding the ladder.â You muttered as you glared at said person. Said person just gave you a grin and waved.
âI guess you could say she fell for you!â Rose called from across the room.
You spun around and was about to really kill Rose when Luka laughed, âI canât disagree with that.â
âIn more ways than one.â You mumbled but then clasped your hands over your mouth in shock.
âYou,â Luka looked at you in shock, âlike me?â
âOf course I do,â you tried to wave off your blunder, âwho wouldnât like you? Youâre totally awesome!â
âShe like-likes you!â Rose yelled out again.
You felt your eye twitch as you continued to smile at Luka. Rose was really asking for it. âThatâs good.â Luka smiled and the atmosphere seemed to have softened, âbecause I like-like you too.â
âHuh?â your jaw dropped, were you hearing things correctly?
âThat was lame,â he sighed, âI really like you too.â He told you.
âUh, me too.â You stuttered. You were mentally berating yourself, normally you were fine around Luka, but now you suddenly have a frog in your mouth?
âSo you wonât mind if IâŠâ he trailed off and leant down to capture your lips in a kiss. Once you realized what was happening, you stood up on your tiptoes to meet him halfway.
âNo, I donât mind.â You smiled. The two of you stood there for awhile. Foreheads touching and arms wrapped around each other. You suddenly broke off when you heard cheering though. Mainly from Rose. âDo you mind if I go kill her?â you asked softly.
âSheâs our lead singer. I canât let you do that.â He answered equally soft.
âShame.â He laughed and captured your lips in another kiss.

Greetings! Disjointed thoughts again: 1) There's going to be keeper graphic novel? That's so cool! 2) Your "nonsie" nicknames are really cute, and remind me of the "anonymous animal" thing on google docs ;) 3) I haven't listened to many of those musicals, so I'll give them a listen (hopefully)! I like a bunch of musicals but my comfort musical is Be More Chill. Also, I'd love to hear about your movie thoughts! I hope you're enjoying your day! - Amethyst
OKAY! Skipping over all that to get right to the movie thing because I simply must speak of it. The movies I was referring to were RRR and Baahubali 1 and 2 (3 isn't out yet). Each one is like 3 hours long ish but they're SO good. Such delightful cinema. They're incredibly dramatic (at least by my standards, which are unfortunately american), and some parts are incredibly unrealistic but takes itself so seriously and it's so entertaining. Not in like, this is a shitty movie that embraces that like velocipastor, but like it's a really well funded and produced movie that knows sometimes realism is a detriment to enjoyment so it throws it out.
It's been a while since i watched Baahubali so I couldn't really tell you the plot (I know I had a lot of fun with it though), but I can tell you RRR is about Indian revolution against british colonies. That. is such an understatement. It's also about these two men who are best friends but also enemies (but don't know they're enemies) overcoming that difference to unite and fuck over england. I don't want to spoil anything but it's SO good and has so much more going on than I can cover. Absolutely worth the 3 hours. There's also a full dance scene in there. And it's also nominated for an oscar for the dance scene song :)
If you don't have 6 hours to watch the baahubali's (skimmed the plot to refresh my memory, I think it's about a sibling rivalry for a kingdom but one of the two didn't know they were an heir, but is also insanely powerful and Good and Things), please find 3 hours to watch RRR you will not regret it it's so so good. I have been to the cinema once in the past three years and it was for this movie and I'd do it again.
Alright back to the rest of this ask. 1) yeah!! very exciting! this doesn't really do anything for me personally because I. am not really into graphic novels or visual media (I can't really picture things in my head), but it does give me something else keeper to add to my collection! 2) thank you! it's kinda become second nature at this point as just a thing that I do, but every so often I remember "huh, I deliberately chose to come up and use that". I didn't want to use the typical "nonnie/nonny" i'd seen, so I switched it up a little and now it's just part of my blog. And also part of some other people's blogs I think, sometimes I see other people say it.
3) Oh i've listened to Be More Chill! I haven't in a while, I must admit, but I listened to the typical new age musicals--Be More Chill, Dear Evan Hanson, Hamilton, Heathers. Oh! Speaking of Heathers, my favorite song from that musical is "I Say No", which isn't even on the main track; it's an addition to the world tour or something along those lines. But when I learned that I was so excited, like woah! There's this bomb song that just isn't on the main track??? WHY isn't it everywhere it's so good!
and thank you, I'm having a pretty good day! played some games (only today learned about the charms in omori), embroidered (ish) a little bunny on my shorts, didn't have to do any homework, stimmed to some songs, etc. Might bake something (apple muffins), unknown yet. I hope you're doing well and having a good whatever time it is where you are!
