"Pass me that spoon," Dantes held out a hand, patiently waiting for Ayako to get the utensil and plop it into his hand. He muttered a word of thanks, not taking his eyes off the pan as he tilted it up off the stove and continually basted the food inside with the sauce and juices that had collected during the cooking process. Beside him, Ayako cocked her head to watch, leaning her hip against the counter as she folded her arms over her chest.

"...is it really worth all this?" She asked, frowning as he set the pan down and turned down the heat at last. "I mean, it smells good but -"

"You will have to wait and see," he told her in a teasing tone, glancing at her as he moved the pan off the heat. Ayako narrowed her eyes at him, but moved back as he began to plate their meal.

Ayako paused, staring down at the larger portion of her plate, then slowly looked up at him.

"Your favorite," Dantes smiled, wistful and fond. "I hope you like it."
