Jimmy Dale “J.D.” Herchenhahn entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior whom he so earnestly loved and served Thursday morning May 11, 2023 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice LifeCare Center. Some people called him Dr. Herchenhahn, many others knew him as Pastor, but to us he was forever our precious Dad and Papa. His faith has become sight, and we believe he heard a big “Well done, good and faithful servant” when he entered heaven’s gates!
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 54 years, Jean Herchenhahn; his parents, A.B. and Iva Herchenhahn, two brothers, Allen Herchenhahn and Fred Herchenhahn; and five sisters, Lucille Jones, Jean Brunson, Gayle Mattheiss, Dawn Gunderson, and Louise Bates.
Jim loved his family dearly and will be most missed by his three children, Janna (Jeff) Attoe of Hampstead, Jay (Gina) Herchenhahn of Lancaster, SC, and Joy (Brad) Barth of Kernersville, NC; grandchildren Jensen (Ray) Rivera, Jonah Attoe, Jayse Attoe, Kalli Herchenhahn, Kassi Herchenhahn, Khloe Herchenhahn, Caleb Herchenhahn, Cooper Barth, Colton Barth, and Copley Barth; great-grandchildren, Vincent and Halston Rivera; two sisters, Wilma Jones and Judy Ray; many nieces and nephews. Janna, Jay and Joy would like to thank Steve and Joanna Groves, David Groves, and Tom Hayden for faithfully and lovingly caring for our dad. We would also like to acknowledge and thank David  and Cathy Lane, Edna Lancaster, Mark and Nancy Cramer, and Jimmy Sibbett for loving our dad and being the hands and feet of Jesus in dads time of need.
Jimmy Dale was born April 25, 1941 in Macedonia, Mississippi. During his junior year of high school in Pensacola, Florida, he received Christ as his Savior under the ministry of Dr. Dolphus Price.  As a senior, he surrendered to preach the Gospel.  He attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina before serving two years with the United States Army. He was a Vietnam Veteran.
Jim finished his college education at Tennessee Temple College in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was involved in many aspects of college life including playing on the baseball team and serving as student body President. It was there that he met and married his sweetheart. He received his bachelor’s degree in 1968.  He pastored the Fellowship Baptist Church in Trion, Georgia for three and a half years during his tenure at TTC and afterwards. Then in 1970, the Lord called the Herchenhahns to Wilmington to work at Grace Baptist Church—first as Assistant Pastor under Dr. Ray Noland, and then starting in 1971 as Senior Pastor of Grace and President of Wilmington Christian Academy.
The Lord used Pastor Herchenhahn in a great way during his thirty-six years in leadership of the church and school.  Hundreds of people came to know the Lord under his ministry, and many others grew in their faith.  A number of men and women were called to various areas of “full-time Christian service” under his leadership.  Many missionaries, pastors, teachers, and others are still serving the Lord around the world.
He retired from Grace at the end of December 2006. That freed them up to do some short-term mission work in Guam. After that he began filling pulpits for preachers in and around the Wilmington area. That ministry led them to Riley’s Creek Baptist Church in 2010, where he was called to be their Senior Pastor. He retired from Riley’s Creek in 2021 for the primary purpose of taking care of his beloved wife and soulmate who was declining in health. He wanted to spend as much time with her as he possibly could, and that he did.
Only eternity will reveal the impact of the life and ministry of Pastor J.D. Herchenhahn. He was an exemplary pastor, faithfully preaching the Word and sharing the gospel, as well as humbly serving and caring for people. He often quoted these lines from a poem: “Others, Lord, yes, others, let this my motto be, “help me to live for others, that I may live like Thee.” He certainly reflected Jesus through his life.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Grace Baptist Church, 1401 North College Road, Wilmington, with a  memorial service honoring Pastor Herchenhahn will be immediately following. Close family friend and co-laborer Rev. Mike Meshaw will officiate along with Rev. David Lancaster and Rev. Jay Knolls.. There will be a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at  Oleander Memorial Gardens. with Rev. Brian Beaver conducting the service.
In lieu of flowers  memorials  may be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Foundation, 1414 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401. We will be forever grateful for their gentle care and compassion given to our dad.
Online condolences may be made by selecting Tribute Wall.

Some thoughts on Frank Welker
Frank Welker is the most prolific voice actor in Hollywood. In the 1980s it would have been VERY hard to find a cartoon without his voice work in it. Between 1969 to this very day, he does most of the animal voices in cartoons (and some live action). He was the lion roars in The Lion King, Slimer and Ray in The Real Ghostbusters, Fred and Scooby in Scooby Doo, and even Abu the monkey in Aladdin. Sometimes I wonder what Hollywood would do without him. For fifty-four years he's pretty much been THE Go-to guy for cat and dog (and other animal) voices. Even his work specifically for Tim Burton includes Zero, Dumbo, The Martians from Mars Attacks, and Sparky in Frankenweenie but for some reason that one is not listed here on this page. Slightly off topic: Zero is supposed to have a little Jack-o-lantern nose. Contrary to some fan belief, it was never red. Yes, he's inspired by Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer but his noise is a tiny Jack-o-lantern and always has been. It wasn't changed later. The description is in Tim Burton's concept art and in his original poem. https://timburton.fandom.com/wiki/Frank_Welker

 Martha Nichols, 78
Tumblr media
Martha Marler Nichols, 78, died Sunday morning at Mountain Valley Hospice in Yadkinville, NC, January 19 of cancer, surrounded by her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, aunt, cousin, grandmother and friend. Martha was born and grew up in Winston-Salem, NC the daughter of Ralph H. Marler and Jeanne Lalance Marler, a member of First Presbyterian Church, attended RJ Reynolds High School, and then Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. She married James P. Barksdale, JR of Rocky Mount, NC, a Presbyterian minister in 1962 and lived in Kannapolis, NC, Charlotte, NC, and North Wilkesboro, NC with churches that he was called to serve. After his death in 1981, Martha married Ward H. Nichols, a renowned artist and returned to live in North Wilkesboro, NC.
From the beginning of her adult life as a Presbyterian minister's wife, Martha was a devoted supporter of her husband and his career, but she also had outside interests and took art and history courses while in Charlotte and North Wilkesboro. An artist herself, she taught watercolor and drawing classes at Wilkes Community College, volunteered at the Wilkes Art Gallery and became the gallery's director in 1976. Following this work, Martha served as the Director of ExperienceWorks, the Director of Retired Senior Volunteers Program, a Commissioned Realtor with Caldwell Banker and Apple Realty, and lastly as the Marketing Director of Rose Glen Manor, the organization from which she retired.
When Martha's mother died, she became a consummate gardener to work through her grief and before limitations in her mobility, had over 200 roses in her garden, was an award-winning master rosarian and was a member of the Winston-Salem Rose Society and American Rose Society. Valentine's Day would signify the delivery of her roses to many friends and loved ones throughout Wilkes, Caldwell, and Forsyth Counties. Also inspired by her mother's lifelong hobby of quilting, Martha became more than an avid quilter, making over 50 quilts and prayer blankets, most of which she gave to friends in celebration of a joyous occasion, or to friends who faced serious or terminal illnesses.
In fact, Martha sought out people who were experiencing terminal illness, becoming their friend and counselor, and providing whatever comfort she could give. In 1980 when her first husband was diagnosed with cancer, Martha created what she called a home-grown hospice program since hospice was not yet widely available.  This led to her contributions towards hospice in Wilkes County, culminating in 1984, first with a speech and presentation to a group of clergy from western NC and subsequently to another group of oncologists in the area. She became well known for her lecture, "The Impact of Cancer on the Family Unit: Psychological and Theological Emphasis" and sharing her experiences were instructive in enhancing their understanding.
The arts helped bring Martha and Ward together, and Martha's life with Ward provided another ongoing connection to the arts. Ward claims that Martha was his biggest advocate and supporter, often naming his paintings and providing constructive feedback.  She also managed the business affairs of his work, helping to organize most of his shows and always serving as a consummate host to out of town guests and collectors. They were married for more than 35 years, and their lives included an international trip almost every year and to every state in the continental US. Ward and Martha were members of North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church and attended regularly, and Martha served as an Elder and on the membership and personnel committees. Martha's involvement in the community was extensive, and she was particularly proud of Vision2020, a long-range planning effort in Wilkes County during the 1990's.  Ward and Martha also frequently visited Charleston, SC, West Virginia and Isle of Palms, where Martha's children would join them for a week at the beach.
While Martha had a full career and many interests and hobbies, she would claim her most important accomplishment was her family, with her first husband, Jim Barksdale and their three children, and then her marriage with Ward Nichols, which coincided in time with the arrival of her four grandchildren. Martha created an intimate family whose members have always deeply supported each other, teaching them how to love and to cherish, particularly during difficult times. Her values were very clear, she was a fervent advocate for the underprivileged, and donated her time and money to the homeless and the poor. Several causes stand out; she created the Ralph H. Marler, JR Award for the Wilkes Art Gallery in memory of her brother, and the Katie Fund for the Wilkes Animal Hospital in memory of her beloved cocker spaniel.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. James P Barksdale, JR and her brother, Ralph H Marler, JR. She is survived by her husband, Ward H Nichols; and her three children, James P Barksdale III, Elisabeth S Barksdale (Laura E Clay), and grandson, Kip H Barksdale, John M Barksdale (Katina M Barksdale), and grandchildren, Ellis A Barksdale, Finn P Barksdale, and Catherine M Barksdale.
A memorial service will be held on February 1 at 2:00pm, at the North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church, with a celebration of life to immediately follow in the church fellowship hall.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to any shelter for the homeless, or to one of the funds inspired by Martha.

By Light-Years // Chapter 5: Winter...Five Years Later
A/N: Here's the final chapter of this story. Thank you so much for reading and commenting and giving kudos- they all mean so much to me. I struggled a bit with this chapter as it's kinda cheesy but I guess we all gotta indulge in the cheesiness every now and then. I hope you like it.  You can also read it on AO3
“Can you believe it’s been six years since we met?”
“I know. It feels so much longer,” says Harry. He smiles. “I love you.”
“I love you too, Harry.”
“Merlin, get a room!” Ginny exclaims as the two embrace.
“I swear, Ron gets more sentimental about his anniversary with Harry than with me,” Hermione tells her.
“Even though they both have me to thank,” Ginny snorts.
Harry and Ron separate, Ron throwing a grimace at Ginny. “Hey, we became mates before you two even started dating. You didn’t even want to go to the pub with us! And would you two even be together if we didn’t stay friends and invite him to Fred and George’s party?”
“But you wouldn’t have met him if I wasn’t a Quidditch player!”
“I think we would’ve met anyway,” says Harry. “It was meant to be.”
Hermione and Ron laugh as Ginny rolls her eyes at them, though she feels utterly happy. “C’mon,” she says, reaching out for Harry’s hand. “Let’s say goodbye to the boys.”
Harry clasps hands with his wife, and Hermione and Ron follow them down the hall. Lily is attempting to feed Rose and Albus, who are both laughing and clapping, while James is sitting with his namesake, drawing something alongside him at the table, concentrating hard. Harry walks over to the two, complimenting his son’s picture. James excitedly shows his father his in-progress masterpiece and Ginny watches them, her heart swelling with love. Then she hears adult James whine, “What about my picture?” which causes Lily to roll her eyes dramatically.
Ron laughs at Rose and Albus, their food-clad hands and faces as they giggle together. “These two are going to be best mates,” he predicts, leaning over and planting a kiss on his daughter’s forehead. Rose grabs his nose tightly which causes Albus to screech with joy. Ginny looks at her youngest son and sighs. “I’m going to miss him.”
“It’ll only be a few hours, dear,” Lily reassures her as she successfully gets a spoonful of food into Albus’s mouth as Ron breaks free from his daughter’s hold. Albus’s wide, emerald green eyes find Ginny’s, and as he swallows his food he reaches for her.
She moves closer to him and touches his face, smiling at how much he resembles his father, having both his and Lily’s eyes. She plants a kiss on his cheek. “Mummy and Daddy will be back soon, Al.”
“Don’t worry,” Ron says, putting an arm around his sister as she pulls away from her son. “Rosie will look after him. She’s only nine months old and she’s already more mature than me.”
Hermione hands Ron his cloak, then fastens her own before swooping down and kissing Rose goodbye. “Thanks so much again, Lily.”
“Of course, kids. Anytime, you know that,” she says. Then she turns to Ginny. “Did you speak to Sirius?”
Ginny nods. “Spoke to him through Harry’s mirror a bit ago, he only had a minute but he sends his love.”
“Good,” Lily replies. She reaches out and squeezes Ginny’s arm. “I’m sure you’ll do great tonight, sweetheart. We’ll be listening on the wireless.”
Ginny smiles, feeling conflicted. She’s excited and nervous and doesn’t want to leave her sons. Harry walks over to her, carrying their eldest. “Wish Mummy good luck, James.”
“G’luck!” he manages, reaching out and tugging on a piece of her hair.
“Thanks, baby,” she whispers, kissing his head. “You’re going to be good while we’re gone, right? And helpful to Grandmum and Granddad?”
He nods his head in an exaggerated fashion, and Harry kisses him as well before putting him down. “And look after your brother and cousin, yeah?”
James nods again before puddering back off to his drawing at the table with his grandfather, who shouts to Ginny, “Kick some arse out there, Weasley!”
“James, there are children here besides you, you have to watch your language. We’re trying to keep them free of your corruption for as long as possible!” Lily scowls, and they all laugh.
Harry hugs and kisses his mother before he walks over to Albus, and then Lily hugs Ginny, giving her more words of encouragement. Albus begins to cry as they walk towards the door, and Ginny stops in her tracks. “He needs me-”
Ron steers her back toward the door. “Don’t be thick, Lily’s got him. You don’t want to be late, do you?”
Harry intertwines his fingers with hers, giving her reassuring pressure. “He’ll be alright,” he whispers, leading them out the door. “We’ve left James alone for this long plenty of times and he’s turned out alright so far, hasn’t he? I mean, relatively speaking. So will Al.”
She reluctantly follows, trying to drown out the sound of Albus’s cries as she returns the pressure to Harry’s hand. She’d only been leaving for short periods of time over the past few weeks to return to practice while Harry stayed with the kids, schedule permitting, but this was her first game back on the field.
They close the door of the Godric’s Hollow cottage behind them, and Ginny exhales deeply. Hermione grabs her hand and the four of them twist on the spot into nothingness.
They apparate right outside the stadium, and Ginny is surprised to see almost her entire family waiting there for her: Molly, Arthur, Bill and Fleur, Percy, Fred and George. Molly and Arthur immediately walk forward, and she sighs with relief as their arms envelop her. They tell her Charlie sends his best and wishes he could be there. Luna is there too, decked out in Harpies gear. After all greetings are exchanged, and Fred and George chastise Ron for wearing a Chudley Cannon jersey while they’re all decked out in Harpies gear (“They need some moral support! It’s not like they’re going to win, anyway! Ginny’s fine with it!”), the twins give a rather encouraging speech about how she has nothing to worry about because she would score more than all three Cannons chasers combined with her eyes closed. The family wishes their final “good luck”s and goes off to their seats in the topbox, but Harry lags behind to have one more moment alone.
Ginny falls into Harry’s arms, and they hold each other for a few long moments. “You’re going to be brilliant,” he says confidently. “Their record has been suffering without you, you know that.”
She nods against him, breathing him in to sooth her nerves. He removes his chin from atop her head and places his hands firmly on the sides of her face, fingers behind her head and in her hair. “Remember your first game back after James was born? You remember the score, don’t you?”
“Yes.” She smiles meekly. “It was 390 to 60.”
“And how many of those points were yours?”
She bites her lip. “I think it was 130?”
Harry laughs, and she feels the vibrations of his chest against her own. “You think?”
“Ok, I know, I was on fire,” she concedes. “Happy?”
“Yes,” he whispers before dipping his head down to kiss her. “You’ve got this, Gin.”
She pushes herself up to kiss him again, but just moments later they hear a voice call out, “Oi, no Puddlemore players permitted back here!”
They pull apart, Ginny groaning but Harry chuckling. “Sorry, Jones,” he calls back, letting go of Ginny. He smiles at her one last time. “Bring it home.”
She’s rocking Albus to sleep when Harry taps lightly on the doorframe of the nursery. “James is all bathed and clean and wants to show you what he’s wearing to sleep.”
She cranes her neck a bit to see James hiding behind his father. “Let me see,” she says quietly.
James jumps out from behind his father’s legs right towards his mother, and then jumps into a stance for her to see; he’s decked out in Holyhead Harpies pajamas. “I’m you, Mummy!”
She gasps. “Oh my god, you precious boy,” she swoons, putting one arm out for him to run into. She kisses him all over his face before asking, “Did you choose to wear these yourself?”
He nods, smiling widely.
“He said he wanted to wear Mummy’s team’s pajamas since she won her big match today,” Harry chimes in. “Didn’t even look at his Puddlemore ones.”
“He’s so smart,” she says, before kissing his face again. She runs her fingers through his hair and looks down at him. “Why doesn’t Daddy read you a story in bed while I finish putting Al to sleep, and then I’ll come and tuck you in, alright?”
“Ok,” says James, and then he leans over and very gently presses a kiss to his little brother’s head. Albus’s eyes flutter as James pulls away and walks back over to his father, taking his hand and steering him out of the room.
Ginny sighs happily as she continues to rock Albus in her arms. Once he’s finally asleep she places him gently in his crib and joins her other two boys in James’s room. She sits next to him on the bed as Harry continues reading Babbitty Rabbitty. Ginny tucks James, who is struggling to keep his eyes open, more tightly into bed as Harry finishes the story. They kiss him goodnight and go downstairs, and Ginny plops down on the sofa, groaning. “I’m beat .”
Harry sits down next to her, planting his mouth softly on her neck. Ginny emits a low, content sigh as he litters gentle kisses up her throat, across her jaw, then against her lips. “You were brilliant today,” he whispers against her. “As we knew you would be.”
Ginny kisses him in response, lightly scratching the back of Harry’s neck.
“And Al survived,” he says when they part.
Ginny pinches his neck hard. “Not funny.”
Harry chuckles, his thumb stroking her cheek. “It’s a little funny.”
He reaches into his pocket for his wand and flicks it towards the kitchen. A container of ice cream and two spoons zoom towards them: Ginny catching the container, Harry the spoons.”I like the way you think,” she says, ripping a spoon out of Harry’s hand and flinging the container cover off onto the coffee table.
She digs in and practically moans as she puts the spoon in her mouth, causing Harry to chortle. He scoops some into his spoon as well, and they eat happily in silence for a few minutes. Then, Harry nudges her. “Mental that we met six years ago, eh?” he muses. “And this exact ice cream played a role in getting us where we are today.”
“But that was a few months later,” Ginny reminds him, taking another spoonful. “And technically we met seven years ago, I just was too afraid to talk to you then.”
“And now look at us.”
“Shacked up together with some spawn.”
“You really have a way with words.”
She licks her spoon slowly, wiggling her eyebrows at him. “You know, I’m thinking of going into writing maybe, if I ever decide to retire from Quidditch. So thanks for your flattery.”
Harry emits a low, involuntary groan. “My pleasure.”
Ginny laughs as she watches him gulp, his adam’s apple moving slowly. “Your pleasure is my pleasure, my love.”
“Is it?”
She throws the container and their spoons on the coffee table, grabs his collar, and drags his mouth to hers again, and the vibration of Harry’s moan at the touch of her tongue sends shivers down her spine to her toes. She laughs. “Is that moan for the treacle taste, or me?”
“Both,” he snickers. “The two loves of my life.”
Before he can dive back in, Ginny fakes a gasp. “Not our children?”
Harry makes a noise of annoyance. “Ok fine, two out of the four loves of my life.”
“Better,” she smiles. “You may proceed.”
He scoffs, but kisses her anyway, his hands securely on her face, Quidditch calluses at home on her cheeks. “I’m so proud of you,” he whispers against her mouth in between kisses. “I’m so lucky. I’m so in love with you.”
Ginny smiles hard against him, and then extracts her face from his, still holding his shirt but putting space between their faces. An overwhelming wave of affection crashes against her ribs as she absorbs his words. She examines his face, which breaks out into a crooked smile. “What?” he asks.
“Nothing,” she tells him, feeling her heart flutter even now at how vivid his green eyes are. She takes a hand and lightly traces the side of his face. Echoing a paraphrase of something Harry says often, she states, “I just want a minute to look at you.”
His smile widens, bright and beaming. “You can have as many minutes as you’d like. Enough to make up forever, in fact.”
“How corny,” she snorts lovingly.
“Hey, don’t blame me. Isn’t that in our wedding vows? Til death due us part? I didn’t come up with it!”
Ginny traces his shining face one more time before she pulls him into a forceful hug, burying her face into his neck. Harry laughs as he secures his arms around her, returning the pressure. When Ginny does not pull away, he almost whispers, “You alright?”
She nods, her chin digging into his shoulder. “Yeah,” she whispers back. “I love you.”
He kisses the top of her head and pulls her even closer to him, sighing happily. Keeping hold of him, she adjusts their position so that they’re lying down; Harry on his back, head against the arm rest; Ginny on her stomach, pressed up against her husband, eyes closed and content, allowing exhaustion to sweep over her. Next thing she knows she’s barely awake as Harry carries her to their room, laying her down on the bed, helping her undress as she’s done for him so many times, covering her up with the blankets before he joins her underneath them just a few minutes later, wrapping his arms around her middle, pulling her close to him, kissing her shoulder and whispering goodnight. And as she adjusts herself more snuggly against him, she thinks about that day they met after their match, and how much she wished she could just act cool instead of angry and aloof so she could love him like she fantasized for so long, possibly receiving his love in return, hoping that maybe it could live up to her expectations.
And now she does. And it exceeds them by light-years.

CANTLON'S CORNER: PACK PREPARE FOR ANOTHER PAIR OF GAMES
Tumblr media
BY: Gerry Cantlon, Howlings HARTFORD, CT - Another pair of weekend home games await the Hartford Wolf Pack. One is a divisional opponent who has owned them the past three years, the Springfield Thunderbirds. The others are non-divisional opponents who they've struggled with, the Rochester Americans, who they will play on Sunday afternoon. For Pack Head Coach, Kris Knoblauch, he's worried more about where his club is at this point in terms of their development than his opponent to some degree to this point in the season. While he was happy last weekend, he wasn’t satisfied with their team game last week. “You like the four points, but we easily could have lost both those games. The Charlotte game we left too many open areas, too many great chances and thankfully Shesty (goalie Igor Shestyorkin) played so well. We have a long way to go. Right now, I’m focused on our team and getting guys into our systems. We're adjusting to our team at this point and working on our identity.” The addition of Nick Ebert, who came to Hartford in the Vladimir Namestnikov deal, was a surprise in that the New York Rangers added yet another defenseman to an already deep organizational chart. Ebert has had only moderate success as a pro and spent some time in Europe. He a known quantity to Knoblauch. “We have tough decisions to make, and we liked how our defense played for the most part over the weekend. We're always looking to improve our team. He brings experience, is a good skater, moves the puck well and has a good shot. I’ll be honest, I’m surprised he hasn’t scored as much at the American (Hockey) League level. I coached against him in juniors. He was a very strong offensive player. It seems last year he has gotten his offensive game back,” said Knoblauch. Ebert played with Orebro HK (Sweden-SHL). His addition to the roster forced the team to move Brandon Crawley to their ECHL affiliate, the Maine Mariners. “We want Brandon to get playing time, and right now we are filled up on defense, and he’ll be a part of our recalls.” Knoblauch is getting an early tutorial on fluidity of AHL rosters. “I’m really learning it now about how much things can change. We want to win every night, but we are a development league. You have to learn to balance those things appropriately.” Ebert wasn’t the only new defenseman that Knoblauch had out on the ice. Yegor Rykov (pronounced Ree-kov) has been sent down and skated for the first time on Thursday since suffering an ankle injury in the Traverse City tournament. He isn’t likely to see game action for likely two more weeks, which will likely necessitate another reassignment to Maine. “He has started first with drills. He's getting back on the ice, and today was his first full (team) practice. It’s gonna be a few more weeks before he is game ready. I saw him in Traverse City (before the injury), and we were very pleased with what we saw. Now it's about getting that timing back.” The lineup will likely see a new, familiar face in Ryan Gropp. He was scratched last weekend and Knoblauch is eager to have him in the lineup. “We really liked him in the pre-season. He showed a very good shot and I really want to get him in the mix. I haven’t worked out my (lineup) details yet, but we'll be seeing him.” Vitali Kravtsov will be in the lineup, and the coach thinks the student understands things better. ‘We showed him some video. He’s aware he didn’t play well. We had a very hard team practice Tuesday and he was very competitive." Saturday’s game is a part of hockey doubleheader with UCONN and RPI starting at 3:30 pm and a 7:30 pm faceoff time with the Springfield Thunderbirds. NOTES: The Thunderbirds will be minus forward Paul Thompson, who was handed a two-game suspension for a blindside hit on Bridgeport’s Thomas Hickey last Friday in the regular-season opener. Sunday’s opponent, the Rochester Americans, will have a very familiar face in their lineup. Tage Thompson (Orange/UCONN), who scored two goals last weekend including an OT game-winner. Ex-Pack, Matt Register, starts the season with the Iowa Wild. The ECHL season starts this weekend with some players of note with ties to Connecticut. Adirondack: Eamon MacAdam (BST), Charles Curti (Yale), Craig Martin (QU) and Hayden Verbeek (the nephew of ex-Hartford Whaler, Pat Verbeek) Allen: Shawn O’Donnell, and Justin Salvaggio (HWP), Brampton: Miles Gendron (UCONN), Cincinnati: Justin Vaive (HWP/BST), Ft. Wayne: Shawn St. Amant (HWP), Florida: Logan Roe (Kent Prep), Greenville: Chris Nell (HWP), and Callum Booth (Salisbury Prep), plus Mike Pelech (HWP), Indy: Alex Krushelnyski (HWP), Charles Williams (HWP), and Karl El-Mir (UCONN), Kansas City: Derek Pratt (UCONN), Idaho: Spencer Naas (UCONN), and Kyle Schempp (BST). Jacksonville: Mitch Jones (the son of ex-New Haven Nighthawk, Brad Jones), and John Albert (HWP). Former Wolf Pack, Dean Melanson, was the last cut by the Reading Royals. Ex-Pack, Adam Tambellini, was the last cut from the Bakersfield Condors training camp signs with MODO (Sweden-SHL) for the season. He is the second Tambellini to play there. Ex-Sound Tiger, his brother Jeff, played there and is presently a head coach/GM of the Junior A Trail Smoke Eaters (BCHL). Landon Ferraro, the son of former Whaler, Ray Ferraro, who was with Iowa last year signs with Eisbaren Berlin (Germany-DEL). The two are the 71st and 72nd AHL’ers from last season to sign in Europe. Brandon Whistle, the nephew of former New Haven Nighthawk, Rob Whistle, goes from Sheffield (England-EIHL) and signs with Telford (England-NIHL). Mark Arcobello (Milford/Fairfield Prep/Salisbury Prep/Yale University) is playing with SC Bern (SwItzerland-LNA) with 10 points in 10 games. He signs a deal to play for HC Lugano (Switzerland-LNA) next season 2020-21. Philippe Hudon (Choate Prep) goes from Allen (ECHL) to Norfolk (ECHL). Congrats to former New Haven Nighthawks player and head coach, Robbie Ftorek, who was among the four new inductees to the AHL Hall of Fame on Thursday. Joining him are Darren Haydar, Denis Hamel, and Fred Thurler. The ceremony will take place in Ontario, CA site of the AHL All Star Classic the first to be held at a Pacific Division city. Ftorek ended his NHL career with the Rangers. He started out as a child prodigy in the Bobby Orr era at Needham High (MA). Played two years for the Red Wings affiliate Tidewater Wings before he left for the WHA and the Phoenix Roadrunners and Cincinnati Stingers (one of the best logos ever). He was the first and only American captain in the history of the Quebec Nordiques WHA or NHL. Ftorek played with New Haven accumulating 16 points in 17 games in New Haven in 1984-85. His last active game as a player was in New Haven the following season. Ftorek, who was a Guilford resident when he was in New Haven and was the head coach there for two-and-a-half seasons before getting the call to Los Angeles, but stayed there just a year-and-a-half. He had other AHL coaching stints in Halifax with the Citadels and the Utica Devils before he had a strong three-year stint with the highly successful Albany River Rats, before having a four-year coaching tenure in New Jersey. Ftorek returned to his roots spending two years with the Boston Bruins before heading back for a second stint in Albany where he had another strong three year period of winning and development. Ftorek also went the junior route spending six years as the head coach with the Erie (Otters (OHL) before a year as an assistant with Abbotsford. He concluded his coaching career with Norfolk (ECHL). UCONN hockey has its first two home games this weekend Friday night at 7 pm against the Army Black Knights (AHA). Saturday, in another non-conference matchup, with the RPI Engineers (ECACHL) at 3:30 pm. The school’s 2000 MAAC championship team will be honored throughout the day. The championship trophy will be on display on the concourse The Huskies earned a 3-3 tie with Sacred Heart University in their opener in Bridgeport, last week who they have yet to beat since going Division I. The Huskies Jachym Kondelik scored. Fellow Nashville Predator draftee, Tomas Vomacka, was sensational in net making 45 saves despite the hat trick by the Pioneers, Matt Tugnutt, icing his game-tying goal with three seconds left in regulation forcing overtime. Earlier in the week, SNY announced the time and dates for the first-ever Connecticut Ice Festival tournament in Bridgeport at the Webster Bank Arena in late January. The Huskies will kick-off the collegiate tournament against the Quinnipiac University Bobcats at 4 pm on Saturday, January 25th followed by Sacred Heart University playing the Yale University Bulldogs. All four games including the consolation and championship final will air live in the SNY. Read the full article

Hi! I was the one who originally requested the "injured/sick Jughead and Archie having to give him piggyback rides and take care of him alone" prompt, and I would absolutely love if you would fill it! :) (and so glad you replied on that post, so I could find your amazing blog! )
(Hey anon! You’re so sweet!!
This summer Archie’s mind was completely set on one thing.
He was going to make it up to Jughead for his wrongs the last summer, and that he could once and for all prove that he did care for Jughead and prove his worth as a blood brother. Of course, time and time again Jughead kept insisting that all was good, he was forgiven but Archie was not having it.
Jughead had been there for him through everything; when his parents split up, Jughead was there every single time he called for him, and even when Archie didn’t call for him. He knew exactly when Archie needed him, and when he needed space.
Jughead had supported him with football and music, gave him advice when he needed it. He was there through breakups, and arguments with his dad. Jughead was there for him with happened with Grundy, and despite Archie seriously hurting him the past summer, Jughead was still looking out for him and being a good friend, even if Archie hadn’t been one to him. He had been there after she had left, allowing him to accept that what happened to him was not love, it was manipulation and it was wrong. Jughead got him through that.
Archie felt as if he hadn’t been there for Jughead, and his friend had crumbled before his very own eyes. Archie had been powerless to do anything, and he felt as if he hadn’t done enough. So this summer, the road trip was going to happen.
Understandably, Jughead was a little cautious, scared of being let down again so he didn’t show as much excitement as last year, to avoid being hurt, which of course made Archie feel bad. So Archie filled Jughead’s life with excitement, bursting with brightness and joy, to reassure Jughead this time he wasn’t going anywhere.
Once everything was packed, at the back of Fred’s truck, Jughead climbed onto shotgun and waited for Archie to say his last goodbyes to Fred. As Fred slipped him some extra cash, Archie could only smile and gave him one last hug before climbing into the car and driving away.
“Ready?”
“Born ready.”
The two began to drive, and Archie spared a glance over at Jughead as they left the “Welcome to Riverdale” sign, and the boy looked happy. He looked relaxed, at peace, excited. The sight made Archie’s heart swell, knowing Jughead needed this change. Riverdale had continued to hurt him and beat him up, and Jughead had to get away from it, away from Riverdale’s darkness. He could sense something lifting off Jughead’s shoulders, he looked a lot younger, a lot brighter, unlike the sad, burdened soul he had been recently. It was a good look on him, and seeing this revived youth and optimism back on Jughead was more than enough for Archie.
20 minutes into the journey, to their first destination of a hike on a headland to warm them up and ease them into their three and a half week adventure, the two boys were playing the category game, with of course a geeky twist. The two were in the middle of naming different generation 4 Pokémon when Archie suddenly realised the slight twinge of congestion written in Jughead’s speech and how his voice had gone down half a step.
“Jug? What’s up with the Morgan Freeman voice?”
Jughead shrugged, “Just a bit sick.”
Archie’s face fell.
Upon seeing the look on his friend’s face Jughead burst into laughter, “Archie–it’s a small cold, I took medicine and everything this morning, I have four packs of cough drops and I brought some meds with me, and like a few packets of tissues. It’s not going to suddenly make this a trip to hell.”
Archie sighed, “Jug, I just..wanted this to be perfect, I should’ve noticed and postponed–”
Jughead whacked Archie on the head fondly, “Andrews, we are not perfect people so there is no way this road trip is going to be perfect. What did you expect? Did you think we were going to meet some monks at the top of a mountain and find ourselves spiritually? Nah, I want this because I’m with my best friend in the entire world who can be dumb, and so am I, so dumb things will happen and we’ll have a great time.”
The words ‘best friend in the entire world’ lingered in Archie’s heart, the words so sweet and meant so much to him he couldn’t say anything, overwhelmed with emotion.
Jughead noticed, and smiled softly, but of course could not stay in this sappy situation.
“Alright Archie, don’t start with the waterworks now,” Jughead rolled his eyes fondly.
Archie blinked the tears away and chuckled along, putting on a CD of road trip music Jughead made (and Jughead still insisted that he totally wasn’t excited). He expected more of Jughead’s sad music but instead was greeted with some great tunes.
“JUST A SMALL TOWN GIRL! LIVIN IN A LONELY WORLD!” They both sang ridiculously off-key.
After about half an hour of offkey singing, the bohemian rhapsody came on which they sung awfully to, and somehow the two had gotten onto a..not so friendly debate about wether a Suicide Squad was a good movie or not.
Of course there wasn’t any hard feelings or genuine harm being done here. Archie and Jughead loved attacking each other, and when they first became friends with Ethel she was a hundred percent sure they hated each other. It was the exact opposite.
“Where is the plot, Archie?! I don’t fuckin see it,” Jughead quipped, looking around in a very exaggerated way, and Archie couldn’t help but just burst into laughter. He couldn’t help but feel a little concerned at the deepening voice and the thickening congestion.
“It’s just a mish-mash of sc–”
Suddenly, Jughead was pitching forward and sneezing ridiculously loudly into his cupped hands.
“FUCK!” Archie yelled, completely shocked.
Archie knew Jughead sneezed louder than most people, it was completely out of his control, but Jughead usually tried to repress the sound as much as he could. The sound was still quite loud, definitely attention grabbing, and unrepressed they were even louder. But this? Jughead was really going for it.
Jughead burst into laughter that hurt his sides, tears welling in his eyes. Archie raised an eyebrow disapprovingly, now realising his stupid best friend had been intending for this kind of reaction.
“Jughead!” Archie growled.
Jughead wiped his tears away and tried to relax, “What? It was a really bad tickle.”
“Sure,” Archie hissed, although there was really no anger or actual bitterness in his voice.
Jughead pouted at him, crystal clear blue eyes completely irresistible, “But I’m sick, Archie warchie~”
Archie sighed and gave in, trying to ignore the growing anxious pit in his stomach. The fact that Jughead was full on announcing and speaking about his sickness casually left a bad feeling in his body.
“Welp, here we are dude,” Archie announced, pulling up onto a car park.
Jughead rolled his window to gaze at the beautiful headland before them. The lush greens of it beautifully complimenting the soft blue sky. Plus, there were only about three other cars in the parking lot, meaning there wasn’t much people. He felt comforted by that; he could hike up the headland, away from Riverdale and the pain it brought him, and he wasn’t alone. He was with his best friend in the entire world. He felt a lot lighter, free of the heavy burden weighing on his shoulders, he was so sure he was going to collapse.
“It’s alright I guess,” Jughead smirked, unable to truly express how he felt (he was working on it, he promised) but he knew that Archie knew.
Archie pulled out his backpack; filled with water and blankets. Jughead took his; filled with food (naturally) and a camera. They began to walk towards the path leading them up the headland, and they began to walk up. They looked around at their surroundings; completely enthralled by the lush greens and the outstanding pops of blue flowers, the brilliant strong browns of the oaks and pines, the stunning dainty yellow flowers on the grass.
The sun shone from the trees, casting a magnificent light on the forest. It was cinematic; which was complete heaven for Jughead. He had completely forgotten about these joys of life; as his life recently had been moving too fast and Jughead just couldn’t stop and take a breather for once, admire the view. It was silent; but it was a comfortable silence, he needed it. His brain was constantly attacked by venomous thoughts and words, so tainted by all the darkness and the silence was purifying and he was so glad Archie understood that.
Jughead stopped to take a few pictures, and the sight of the boy so passionate and excited for once was such a refreshing sight. Archie watched him, cherishing this moment, wondering how long it had been since Jughead had been this happy. How long would it last?
The two boys continued their journey up the headland, free of the corruption of Riverdale, allowed to be just boys for once.
“It’s such a great view, isn’t it Jughead?” Archie smiled, looking at the leaf littered path and the beautiful light casting on the trees.
Suddenly Jughead started coughing violently, spluttering into his jacket sleeve (it was summer and of course Jughead Jones was still wearing a jacket). Archie frowned, but as soon as he caught Jughead’s eye, who clearly didn’t want this moment ruined by his sickness, he let it go for now.
“Well, you just ruined it,” Archie teased.
“Andrews, you ruined the sight the moment you stepped into it,” Jughead shot back teasingly.
“Besides, the real sight here is the Magnificent Moi, and my beautiful complexion accompanied by my ever so wondrous youth and presence,” Jughead joked.
Archie scoffed, although inside he agreed. Not with the complexion part–Jughead was rather pale and his cheeks and nose were turning a red shade slowly but surely–but as beautiful as the forest was, the best part for Archie was how happy Jughead was. It made Archie feel whole.
The two then laughed and wrapped arms around each other in a totally bro way, clapping each other on the back.
“I feel like we’re the fellowship on some sort of grand adventure,” Archie grinned brightly.
“What’s the mission? To throw you into a giant lava pit?” Jughead joked as Archie playfully shoved him away.
As they trekked on, Jughead started feeling weaker in his bones. He felt a slight fever coming on, due to the little bit of heat radiating off his body. It wasn’t too severe; nothing that would cause an emergency. It made him feel a little woozy, a bit disorientated and definitely less self conscious.
Along with the banter and stupid jokes, meaningful conversations and more sappier, nostalgic talks began between the two friends. A headache began to form in Jughead’s head, much to his displeasure and he didn’t even try denying it to Archie. He admitted it casually and just kept going; despite Archie insisting they could stop. It honestly wasn’t that bad.
Suddenly, as Jughead looked up, at the end of the forest, all pain and discomfort suddenly fled his body as one of the most beautiful, cinematic sights appeared before his eyes.
A magnificent sunset, composed like a beautiful Rodger Deakins shot. The colours were bright and vivid, saturated, a deep contrast to the darker colours of Riverdale. It filled his heart with warmth and joy. It was so breathtaking. He wasn’t sure if it was his fever or wether it was the genuine beauty of it all, but a few tears pricked his eyes as he remembered how beautiful life could still be.
As he was enthralled and captivated by the scenery, he had completely lost control of his body and he completely missed the fact that there was quite a large rock in front of him and suddenly, he was falling.
“Shit!” Jughead yelped as he tripped, quietly gasping as he felt his ankle twist and felt the pain shooting up. A light burning sensation began down at his ankle and Jughead swallowed, biting in the pain as a panicked Archie muttering “fuck” over and over again helped him sit up.
“Are you okay?” Archie asked frantically, unsure on what to do.
Jughead opted for a smirk and a bat on the face, “I’m fine–just swooning over the totally hot Archiekins over here.”
Archie rolled his eyes; knowing Jughead didn’t feel that sort of attraction but still felt worried nonetheless.
“I don’t think you should walk anymore–”
Jughead slapped his arm gently, “Archie! We are on a grand adventure! Enjoying nature! Finding ourselves amongst the earth that was gifted to us! I just do this on the legs that was handcrafted for me, be one with my body!”
Archie let out a tiny groan of annoyance, but knew this was a battle he could not win. Instead, they continued up their walk. Thankfully, there wasn’t much until they reached the top of it. It took another 20 minutes but due to the shooting pain in his ankle, Jughead was convinced that it was another hour. He didn’t want to be a stubborn prick, in fact he was going to tell Archie later on, it was just that he really wanted to see this view.
The view was stunning.
There was so much they could see from up here–the world looked so different. They both felt so small on this grand scope of the land; everything felt so big. However, Riverdale had been stifling them for so long and they felt so free.
“Wow,” Archie spluttered, unable to say anything else.
Jughead, who was considerably better with words, didn’t have the words either, “Can we stay..? For a little while?”
In a matter of minutes, Archie had set up a blanket on the grass and they both sat there in silence, as the sky turned into a dark blue and the stars came out to play.
A cool breeze wafted over them, causing Jughead to shiver, pulling his jacket tighter against his weakened frame and continue to look out at the sky, then he pressed his face down onto his pulled up knees and stifled a sneeze, the thought of ruining the serenity of the moment horrifying.
“Jug..” Archie started.
“Archie–don’t, please. I am sick, I’m feeling a little under the weather but..” Jughead admitted, sounding desperate, “..please..just..let me have this.”
The way Jughead’s eyes twinkled as he gazed out onto the horizon, Archie couldn’t say no.
“The world looks so different from up here,” Jughead said softly, breaking the silence after a solid hour.
Archie smiled softly, “Yeah it is, Jug.”
“It’s nice..being up so high. I’m used to being at rock bottom all the time.. It feels so..light,” Jughead slurred.
“..Have the stars always been this beautiful Archie? I don’t remember the last time they shone so bright..”
Jughead sniffled softly, “..Actually I do..when my mom took Jellybean away to Toledo, leaving me behind with my dad..the stars were shining so bright. I was so..angry, Arch. Why would the night be so beautiful on a night like this? How fucking cruel was that? The universe just hates me, Arch.”
Archie’s heart broke, not knowing what to say.
“..So I just walked..and walked..following a constellation and it brought me to your house. A little beacon of light..Of course it was crazy late and I didn’t want to bother you–but it would be fine because in a few weeks I’d see you–”
“–On a road trip that never happened,” Archie finished with guilt. Jughead needed him and he had failed him.
“..and now we’re here Archie, on a road trip that is happening. I’m here being a kid watching the stars with my best friend. I’ve stepped in to the sun, i’m a part of something..I’m..not lonely. I can smile again..I’m far away from all the pain..with my best friend by my side..filled with so much love..I feel so loved..I’m happy, Archie. For the first time in so long.”
Archie felt tears prick his eyes and he couldn’t help but scooch closer and wrap Jughead into his arms and hold him close, filling Jughead with all the love he could possibly muster. After a few minutes of hugging, he realised the heat he felt wasn’t just the care and love he felt, but it was Jughead’s illness he had completely forgotten about. Which would completely explain the out of character sappy talks and affection.
“..Jug, you’re so sick,” Archie said worriedly.
“I don’t feel very well, Arch,” Jughead mumbled into Archie’s shoulder.
Archie got up, looking down at the long walk down before them. Under no circumstance would Archie allow Jughead to make that journey down. The walk took about an hour (mainly because it was uphill and they kept taking photography breaks, which had to have taken 20 minutes) so that had left them another 25 minutes down. No way was Jughead walking that with his sickness.
Jughead stood up, wobbling, “Lets get to the motel..” Suddenly Jughead hissed in pain, scrunching his face up in pain as a sharp pain shot up his leg.
“Jug?!” Archie exclaimed, at his side in an instant.
Jughead managed a chuckle, before biting his lip to suppress the pain, “I guess that swoon hurt a lot more than I thought.”
Archie widened his eyes in shock, “Fuck–Jug, holy shit..uh..What do I..fuck..”
“..Yes, Archie, accept your fate. You now need to perform an amputation on my leg, and fend for our lives as blood thirsty wolves craves blood, and try to prevent me from bleeding out,” Jughead joked, trying to smile through the pain.
Archie genuinely seemed to believe him and looked bewildered.
Jughead gulped, realising he wasn’t helping, “I’m just joking, Archie. We just have to get some ice from a 7/11, and it’ll be fine. Don’t worry–it’s a simple twist, it’ll fix itself overnight.”
“Get on my back,” Archie commanded.
Jughead blinked, “Uh, you are not carrying me down. I can’t let you do that, Arch.”
Archie smirked slowly, “I’ll tickle you.”
Jughead gasped, in genuine horror, “Don’t you dare–FUCK!” He squealed as his sides were brutally attacked and as soon as his defenses were compromised, Archie scooped him up onto a piggyback.
“Archibald Andrews, put me the fuck down,” Jughead protested as Archie began his journey down the headland.
“Forsythe Pendleton Jones III, kindly shut the fuck up,” Archie shot back.
Jughead sighed, knowing he wouldn’t win as Archie descended down the slope.
“When you need a friend to carry you, when you’re broken on the ground, you will be found,” Jughead sang quietly to himself as Archie continued walking, leaving the latter a little shocked. For one, Jughead had a surprisingly nice voice? Of course he was no Sinatra or anything, but it was simple and sweet. Secondly, Jughead Jones was singing, of all songs, a musical song. It was totally not his scene.
“Are you..”
“–singing a musical? Yeah, I guess. Kevin got it stuck in my head. But..it is really uncanny to our situation right now.”
After another comfortable five minutes of silence, Jughead piped up, “Arch? Thanks for all of this..I..really needed this.”
Archie smiled softly, “..of course Jug, anytime you need me to 'lift you on my shoulders’..I’m here.”
Jughead groaned, “That’s not even a good pun.”
They spent the rest of the journey having playful banter until they made it down the headland.
“Wait, Arch..we need a picture.”
A few pictures were taken, and then a single one of Archie, for remembrance sake, Jughead said. Then a selfie, to Jughead’s annoyance, and somehow Archie convinced him to take a picture of the both of them, with Jughead still on his back. Memories to be captured.
They retreated back to the parking lot and into the car, through the motorway, to a 7/11 where ice, medicine, soup, water, OJ and other food was bought. They made their journey to their motel, and Archie once again carried Jughead into their room.
Archie gently let Jughead down onto his bed and pulled his beanie off of him so he could lay a damp towel on his forehead. Archie took pride in the fact he had seen Jughead without the beanie the most; proud of being his best friend. It still made the sight of him without it a little off putting though, seeing such a tough individual soften.
Jughead sneezed twice into his pillow, muttering an apology for the grossness as Archie just shrugged, not really caring.
Archie felt Jughead’s cheek, which wasn’t all that warm. He passed him a pill to consume, as well as a glass of water. He didn’t feel to afraid of the situation; seeing as he had taken care of Jughead more times than his own parents had (which was rather sad) but the absence of Fred was a little off putting. Archie would be fine, though.
Archie then passed Jughead his PJs to get changed into, and turned away to get the soup ready. As Jughead finished, he covered the boy in his blankets.
“Warm enough?” Archie asked softly.
Jughead rolled his eyes fondly, “Yes mom.” He turned away from Archie to sneeze again.
Archie muttered his bless you as he wrapped a bottle filled with ice in a towel, then pressed the bottle against Jughead’s injured ankle.
“That good?” Archie asked and left satisfied to get the soup when Jughead nodded yes. Once he returned with the two bowls of soup, Jughead turned on the TV to whatever was on. They had the choice of some tennis match or Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and went with the latter.
They laughed along to the movie, eating their okay bowls of soup, feeling at harmony with each other. To Archie, it felt just right. He couldn’t feel anymore tension brewing between them. Everything was going back to the friendship they once had; wounds being healed. There was still a bit of a mark, but they had this whole journey together for that to heal. They were going to be just fine.

Chicago, la comédie musicale
Tumblr media
Bonjour bonjour, comment allez vous ? Moi, au top ! Pourquoi, me demandez-vous ?

305 US Climate Mayors commit to adopt, honor and uphold Paris Climate Agreement goals
STATEMENT FROM THE CLIMATE MAYORS IN RESPONSE TO PRESIDENT TRUMP’S WITHDRAWAL FROM THE PARIS CLIMATE AGREEMENT
The President’s denial of global warming is getting a cold reception from America’s cities.
As 305 US Mayors representing 61 million Americans, we will adopt, honor, and uphold the commitments to the goals enshrined in the Paris Agreement. We will intensify efforts to meet each of our cities’ current climate goals, push for new action to meet the 1.5 degrees Celsius target, and work together to create a 21st century clean energy economy.
We will continue to lead. We are increasing investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency. We will buy and create more demand for electric cars and trucks. We will increase our efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions, create a clean energy economy, and stand for environmental justice. And if the President wants to break the promises made to our allies enshrined in the historic Paris Agreement, we’ll build and strengthen relationships around the world to protect the planet from devastating climate risks.
The world cannot wait — and neither will we.
