I can definitely see Percy (and Ron too actually but thatā€™s for another day) as one of the favorite of not the favorite uncle in his family. I can see all the stay at home dad hc for him working for his nieces and nephews. I can definitely imagine him wanting all the kids in his family to know that no matter what he will always be there for them.
And I can see him ending up as the main family babysitter or the one his siblings, including bill, go to for parenting advice once they get over their pride. Iā€™ve said it before and Iā€™ll say it again, out of all his siblings Percy was the one who was a parent and an older brother (and younger brother) far more than then the rest. Heā€™s the one who blurred the lines so he would definitely know a lot by the time the first set of next gen comes around.

I agree 100%.
I adore the idea of Percy being his niecesā€™/nephewsā€™ favorite uncle! I definitely think he'd be the least judgmental and most accepting of their differences (given his past), so they would all feel completely comfortable with him. šŸ„° I can picture him being oblivious to that though and assuming their favorite uncle would be one his brothers instead, because that poor guyā€™s self-esteem is in shreds. šŸ˜
I also agree that he would end up as the main babysitter (so nothing new from his childhood šŸ¤£), but he's happy about that now, because he loves spending time with all the kids and making sure his own children have a good relationship with their family members/cousins.Ā
I can see a lot of his siblings going to him for parenting advice (instead of Molly), but I'm not sure I picture Bill doing so. I don't have a super high opinion of Bill and his relationship with Percy (see this post and this post), but it would be sweet if he actually did ask him!Ā
Thanks for the ask! šŸ˜Š
Also, feel free to talk to me about Ron too! Iā€™m a huge Ron Weasley Defense Squad member as well. šŸ„°

Stay at home dad Percy!!!
Although I do think unlike Molly he would still find ways to make money. I can definitely see him selling foods or clothes or something, maybe babysitting/teaching kids in his neighborhood before they go off to hogwarts like twice a week or something. And I can definitely see him constantly showing his girls everything about the world. He wants them learn and develop passions and not just do everything by the book - I am a firm believer that this is what makes Percy different from Hermione, he didnā€™t just go by the book. He tested things and experimented and asked why -
In response to this post.
I'm so glad that someone agrees with me on this, because I thought people were going to come after me with pitchforks for that post! šŸ¤£
Seriously though, it makes sense! Percy is organized and great at multitasking (which you need to run a household), and he's a mother hen to his younger siblings, so it stands to reason that he would be the same way with his own children.
At Hogwarts, we saw that he looked out for the younger Weasleys: he was concerned about Ginnyā€™s health (making her take Pepper-Up Potion & rest), he kept the twins under his thumb in terms of discipline as a Prefect & Head Boy, and he gave Ron his own pet rat. He definitely has the makings of a great father, and I think he would find being a stay-at-home dad really rewarding (once he got over his initial reluctance because he felt like he was supposedĀ to work full time).Ā
I definitely agree that he would make money somehow though - for logical reasons and for his own pride. I think he most likely taught other kids in the neighborhood (that's a perfect part-time job for him, because heā€™s intelligent and probably tutored at Hogwarts as well). Itā€™s also possible that he got a part-time job where he could work from home, like being an editor for a textbook publishing company (because that would also suit him well - he loves reading, learning, and correcting other people's mistakes šŸ¤£).
I also agree with you about Percy wanting his children to experience the world. He loved reading to learn, but we also saw in the books that Percy liked getting out and going places as well, such as the Shrieking Shack, Zonko's Joke Shop, Quidditch matches, etc. He also liked working in the middle of things - not at a desk - such as mingling with politicians, representing the Ministry at the Triwizard Tournament/Yule Ball, helping to organize the Triwizard Tournament with all that entails, etc.Ā
So I do think he would want his kids to experience the world by getting out from behind their desks as well, such a going to zoos and trying different muggle sports and clubs. I think itā€™s even more important to him, because he felt like he never got to explore a ton of passions for himself as a child due to his familyā€™s tendency to stay isolated (see this post), and as a result, I think he felt like he missed out on some good opportunities, so he doesnā€™t want to do that to his own children.
I also headcanon that Percy always wanted to travel and experience other cultures (another reason why he learned several languages - see this post), but they obviously never had the money to do so when he was growing up (aside from Egypt one summer), so as an adult, I think he'd try to take his kids on vacations to different countries too.Ā
Sorry for ranting, but I love this topic, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way! ā¤ļø

i would love to hear more about stay at home dad percy if you have anymore reasons/headcanons. it just fits him so well!
I think it fits him well too! šŸ„°
My reasons are mostly explained in this post, but I have tons of headcanons about this!
Stay-at-Home Dad Percy Headcanons
Percy is actually way more laid back as a parent than he was as an older brother (partially because of experience, partially because of age, and partially because his role is clearly defined without other people affecting the dynamic he has with his kids - see this post).
He created a mini library in his house for the kids when they were little. It had decorated bookshelves, fun children's books, stuffed animals (reading buddies), and bean bags, because he was really hoping that his kids would enjoy reading (which they do). I also have a small headcanon that he might have written a few childrenā€™s books for them (see this post).
When his kids were teenagers, they weren't afraid to come to him and tell him they messed up (in fact, he was the first person they went to), because he's always been open with them about how he's made a lot of mistakes, so it's okay if they do, and he'll always love them. He made it very clear that no matter how bad it is, they'll always be able to come home. šŸ˜ā¤ļø
He used to put cheap, white sheets on the floor for the kids to color and paint on (instead of paper), because it was easy to clean, reusable, and the kids thought it was awesome.
He was constantly afraid that his children would not feel loved enough or even that they would wish they had one of his brothers as their dad instead (because they were more "fun" in Percyā€™s mind), so his partner had to reassure him about it more than once.
He cried when they left for their first year at Hogwarts (but he managed to hold it in until he got home, because he didnā€™t want to embarrass them at the train station).
He was usually good at saying no to the kids when it was necessary, but he had two exceptions that he could never deny them: 1. Any small pets they wanted (kitten, hamsters, toads, etc.), so he ended up with a lot of animals (that he grumbled about but secretly loved - see this post), and 2. Anything prank or joke related, because it reminded him of Fred.Ā
Percy loves cooking (see this post), and the girls loved helping him cook (even though he had minor panic attacks at the beginning because the kitchen was so messy, but he pretended it was fine, because he wanted his children to know that they meant more to him than a clean house).
He taught his children French when they were growing up, because he was fluent in it (see this post), and he wanted them to be able to converse with their cousins in another language. As a result, his girls are very close to Bill and Fleur's kids.
He was thrilled to have girls instead of boys, because he's always related better to women (I mean, this is literally canon - the people we see him get along with most are Penelope, Hermione, and Ginny).
He sings to his kids when no one else is around (since we know he sings in the shower - see this post).
He went to every single Quidditch game the girls played in while they were at Hogwarts (I headcanon them as Quidditch players), cheering embarrassingly loud.
I love talking about this! ā¤ļø Thanks for the ask! šŸ˜Š

I donā€™t think bill would have gone to Percy for parenting advice, at least not until the third kid maybe, but I can definitely see Fleur going to him after seeing him interact with his siblings.
But I can also mostly see those two exchanging tips since sheā€™s also the eldest daughter in her family (to our knowledge)
In response to this post.
I definitely agree!
I think Percy & Fleur had a good friendship anyway (see this post), so it makes sense for the two of them to go to each other for advice. šŸ„°
