i feel like in s13 they were really losing the plot. like what do you mean jack and mary are trapped in an alternate dimension where michael is hot but evil and to get them back the rest of tfw has to do a spell they don’t even think will work because they don’t know asmodeus kept gabriel hidden away for years like rapunzel so he’ll conveniently be around to help but first cas has to go to syria and get married to the djinn queen while sam and dean live out an actual mafia movie and all three of them get trapped in a cartoon because of an evil real estate manager and then to get the last ingredient for the spell they have to fight a tentacle porn monster from another alternate dimension, all while lucifer is shacking up with danneel ackles and successfully taking over heaven? oh and sam and dean were stuck in jurassic world for a bit and donatello went insane via chicken wings

It's so hard out here because I actually love the rotten Sam, Dean, and Jack dynamics of the beginning of s13 because Dean is clearly meant to be at one of his lowest emotional points like think 2x02 dean smashing the impala post john death low <3 but this time jack is the impala and yet people on tumblr will argue that Dean was actually the more morally righteous one because he was honest.

oh my fucking god dean had to carry cas' body to get him onto the pyre he had to carry all of cas' dead weight while the grief still clung to his shoulders he wrapped up cas' body himself and when sam mentions the meadow, he says it's where dean spread the ashes, excluding him and jack because dean wouldn't have let anyone else handle cas so dean had to be the one to carry cas from the house table to the pyre they all lost something in cas, a friend, a protector, a father, but dean lost half of his soul that night oh i am unwell and unstable with these thoughts—

the thing about supernatural is that if it wasnt written the way that it was and sidelined every single character that wasnt sam or dean and actually fucking cared about the side characters with archs and real depth and didnt kill off every single character they redeemed was that it couldve been good. like the supernatural that exists in my head is a million times better than this hot garbage on a plate of a show
