Wow, Eloise is so ahead of her time that she's reading Emma at least 6 months before it was even published.

#bridgerton spoilers #bridgerton #emma #jane austen #eloise bridgerton #i'm being nitpicky #but the moment she said she was reading emma i was like '...does that work... timeline-wise...'#and the answer is no. it was published in december 2015. while season 3 is approximately spring 2015.#if we're basing it off the Danbury ball being on april 6 1813 in season 1 (the date was on the dance cards)#so her first ball of the season should generally be around that same time for the later seasons too #so if it's springtime then eloise is reading emma more than half a year before it's actually published #so they should have had Eloise reading S&S or P&P instead of Emma if they wanted Austen. but. i kind of get why they went with Emma.#and i appreciated her quick little review of it because it is more than a romance novel #(also Mansfield Park was published before Emma but i don't really like Mansfield Park)#DAYS later I realize I wrote 2015 when I meant 1815. wowwww my brain
