Elena Kuzmicheva is a self-taught photographer from Russia. Mainly working black and white, inspired by nature and the inner world of human being.

For me, photography is a kind of meditation. My process is a spontaneous search for beauty around. I capture what I manage to find, and then edit digital photos to make them more voluminous and atmospheric. Sometimes I manage to bring into them some part of my attitude, my mood at the moment, my childhood memories. With photography, I create a world in which l can feel comfortable .

I prefer not to plan anything in advance but instead watch as beautiful things appear naturally. If I like a picture I will iterate on it further. Sometimes the meaning of the piece reveals only in the post-processing stage. This can inspire me to create a series of photos or embark on something completely new.
