Playing card games in a Sussex gastropubs is a very special experience
In recent years many pubs in East Sussex have offered board games and card games to customers, and this is a trend that I hope will continue for many years to come. While these establishments are quite rightly synonymous with the type of fine dining Sussex has become famous for, itā€™s always nice to know you can just pop in for a game with friends or family members instead. A few hands of cribbage with a couple of mates can soon make the world a better place for me.

This doesnā€™t mean that I have stopped eating in any given Sussex gastropub, of course. I regularly visit my favourite place for a superb culinary journey, one that brings yet more reasons to visit pubs around Devils Dyke. If you are yet to discover the many benefits of eating out in this part of the world, I heartily recommend a trip to the best rural pubs near Brighton at the earliest opportunity. I have a feeling that in no time at all you will become a regular customer at these places, one thatā€™s just as enthusiastic as I am.

Will I ever get bored of the best fine dining Brighton can offer?
There are so many ways to spend a Saturday evening in the south-east of England, but for me the pubs in East Sussex will always be my number one option. I work hard all week, and on weekday evenings I stay at home, watch TV and make do with ready meals or bog-standard dishes that I can cook quickly and easily. Itā€™s all a far cry from the best Sussex gastropubs which are not far from where I live. When the weekend comes, however, it will always be time to eat out instead.
http://shepherdanddogpub.co.uk/
In recent times I have become particularly fond of several rural pubs bear Brighton. Each of them has its own distinctive charm and unique character, and thatā€™s just how I like things to be. One in particular could just be the best place to eat in Sussex, thanks in part to the roaring log fire, the warmth of the welcome and the idyllic village location. I genuinely think that time spent here is as special as it can be, and for that reason alone I plan to be paying a visit as often as I possible can.

The best pubs in East Sussex are perfect for daytime escapes
We all know how stressful the average working day can be, but I find it helps when I visit Sussex pubs for a little daytime rest and recuperation. Even if that means nothing more than a quick cup of coffee and a read of the daily paper, the therapeutic benefits of such an escape are many. There is something I dislike intensely about the rat race these days, so every time I am out on the road and I feel the need to get away from it all I start looking for rural pubs near Brighton.
http://shepherdanddogpub.co.uk/
Iā€™m aware that when it comes to fine dining Sussex has so much to offer both locals and visitors, but itā€™s important to remember that thereā€™s nothing wrong with just popping in to Sussex gastropubs for a brief visit. I am usually based in a stuffy, stressful office during the working day, but there are times when I have to take to the road for a few hours, and when I do that I combine the trip with a little well-earned respite. It helps me to keep my levels of wellbeing at an optimum level.

Could pubs in Sussex show classic movies?
Like a lot of people, I am a lover of classic films, and I heard recently that one or two Sussex pubs may start showing them on a big screen. I have to say this is an intriguing prospect for me, because thereā€™s nothing Iā€™d like more than watching a classic from the golden age of Hollywood in rural pubs near Brighton.
http://shepherdanddogpub.co.uk/
There are so many movies that Iā€™d love to watch in a Sussex gastropub, but perhaps top of the tree would be Angels with Dirty Faces, a superb gangster pic starring the brilliant James Cagney. Other favourites including Strangers on a Train, The Godfather, Breakfast at Tiffanyā€™s and Gone with the Wind. I might just be visiting various pubs in the South Downs National Park more often.

Rural pubs near Brighton are ideal for relaxation
I have long had a love affair with Sussex country pubs, and in recent times I have become more and more determined to explore all of them. Some people go to their local to meet up with friends, to socialise with work colleagues or perhaps to go out on a date, but for me itā€™s all about unwinding after a tough day. And let me tell you, gastropubs in Sussex are perfect for soothing the soul.
http://shepherdanddogpub.co.uk/
If you donā€™t visit pubs in East Sussex as often as you would like, maybe now is the time to right that wrong. Even if you just set aside a couple of hours on a Friday evening every week, it would be a good start. Some of the very best rural pubs in Sussex are just a few miles from my front door, and that is exactly how I like it.

Canā€™t get enough of the evening dining Brighton has to offer
I have travelled to so many parts of the world in recent years, but I always feel that I canā€™t wait to get back to the finest rural pubs near Brighton. There is something almost comforting about returning to the UK, and the south-east of England in particular, and settling back into the usual routines. We all like that feeling when we are back home again after a trip to some other part of the world, and the quality of the local eateries has a lot to do with that, in my opinion.
http://shepherdanddogpub.co.uk/
While Iā€™ve always been a fan of the hostelries that are dotted around the villages of the south-east, I am particularly enamoured with the Sussex pubs that allow dogs. I have a very lovely border collie called Jules, and she and I often pop into the pub for some rest and recuperation after a long walk through the South Downs National Park. I always ask for a pint of lime and soda water with lots of ice for me, and a bowl of cold tap water for Jules. Itā€™s at times like this when all is right with the world.

When it comes to fine dining Brighton seems to have everything
One of the reasons I moved to the south-east of England was the quality of the best gastropubs in Sussex. There are many more good reasons, of course, such as the friendliness of the locals, the plethora of high quality golf courses and the picturesque splendour of the waterfront at Brighton. Add in some of the rural pubs near Brighton and itā€™s easy to see why so many people wouldnā€™t consider living anywhere else. And I also like the best dog friendly pubs in Sussex because I like to stroll in with my border collie for a drink sometimes.
http://shepherdanddogpub.co.uk/
I used to live amid the hustle and bustle of Central London, and while I liked the buzz I knew the pubs in East Sussex would be calling out to me. That call became louder and louder as the capital city got busier and busier, so in the end the decision to make the move became just about inevitable. Sussex pubs have so many wonderful qualities, and friends of mine who donā€™t live in the area have told me many times that they are somewhat envious of me and my situation.

Too much time in pubs in the South Downs National Park
Iā€™ve always been a huge fan of the best pubs in East Sussex, but to be honest there have been times recently when I wish I hadnā€™t spent quite so much time in them. I seem to have got out of the habit of going straight home after work recently, and I think I may have even forgotten almost how to cook a meal. The best rural pubs near Brighton are a powerful magnet, and maybe sometimes they are perhaps a little too magnetic for a weak soul like mine.
http://shepherdanddogpub.co.uk/
I hate to say it but I have also started to put on a little weight, and this is purely because of the pints of beer and the tasty evening meals. I try to avoid the more calorific items on the menu, but it should be noted that doing this really isnā€™t easy. And with so many pubs around Devils Dyke to choose from, I might find it a little difficult to walk away completely. Time will tell whether I have the will power required to make a complete break from my favourite Sussex family pubs.

Rural pubs near Brighton are all part of the regionā€™s charm
We in the UK have always been very proud of our history, whether itā€™s in regard to buildings, bridges, landmarks, natural features or anything else. Unlike some other countries, our heritage is regarded as something to be savoured, and thatā€™s just the way we like it. One of the more interesting aspects of daily life in Britain is the way we like to socialise in our favourite Sussex gastropubs, many of which are to be found in exceptionally pretty villages that wouldnā€™t look out of place on the lid of a biscuit tin.
http://shepherdanddogpub.co.uk/
It has to be said that far too many pubs in the UK have closed down in recent years as a result of increasing losses, but those that have survived are often extremely busy. Head into some of the more popular cycle friendly pubs in Sussex on a Sunday lunchtime and you might be surprised by just how busy it will be. Going to the pub at the weekend is always a pleasure, and if that pub has a large beer garden on a sunny day then so much the better. There are times in life when all you really need is a comfy chair, a cold beer and a plate of something delicious.

Spoilt for choice thanks to rural pubs near Brighton
There is something wonderfully magnetic about the countryside in the south-east of England, and this is one of the reasons why I am drawn to pubs in East Sussex, especially perhaps pubs in the South Downs National Park. Whenever I talk to friends who live in London they often talk about the many options they have to choose from when they go out to eat, but I prefer to think that less is more.
http://shepherdanddogpub.co.uk/
I would agree that they have so much more of a choice than I have, of course, but I can always take comfort in the fact that I have a number of highly rated Sussex country pubs within a few miles of my home. there was a time when my friends used to try to persuade me to move to the capital and make the most of city life, but to be honest they were wasting their time - my heart lies right here in sunny Sussex.

Sussex pubs are perfect for post-cricket relaxation
I have always enjoyed watching cricket, and my favourite occasions include time spend in rural pubs near Brighton after the dayā€™s play has been finished. Thereā€™s something wonderfully relaxing about the ebb and flow of cricket, especially when itā€™s a close match that ebbs and flows between the batting and bowling sides. And when I head to a Sussex gastropub for dinner afterwards I become a very happy bunny indeed.
http://shepherdanddogpub.co.uk/
After a long, lazy day sitting in the sunshine, I tend to have a ravenous appetite. And because of this I am so happy to have so many pubs around Devils Dyke close to my home. Sussex rural pubs are a joy to behold as they hover into view on a beautiful summerā€™s evening. Itā€™s at times like these when I like to think about what happened in the match. I love to play the highlights in my head again in my favourite Sussex gastropubs.
