IT鈥橲 BOOK RELEASE DAY!!
Tumblr media
My new-adventures book for the fifteenth Doctor and Ruby Sunday is now officially out in shops! You can buy it most places that sell books! I鈥檓 both excited and terrified. This is my first fully-published novel, and my first time writing long form prose for an IP. I鈥檓 still so pumped to have been asked.
If you like themes of family and identity, unexplored historical settings, a real-life battle on a vast frozen lake, and eldritch horrors from beyond the stars (with a tiny bit of actual horror thrown in there too, because it鈥檚 me), consider picking up Ruby Red!
(And did I mention Millie Gibson reads the audio book??? Ahhhhh!)

I used to be super hyperfixated on this show, no pun intended, and they always come back in my mind every so often

"Ruby Red", "Sapphire Blue" and "Emerald Green" by Kerstin Gier
Side-by-side of my cover redesigns for the first 2 books of the Edelstein/Precious Stone Trilogy, hoping I can add Emerald Green soon!

As a huge fan of time travel stories, I wanted to share one of my associations.
In the Bridon Arc's Ending, we have this sequence:

This intricate machine that Cheng Xiaoshi seems to be trapped in reminds me a lot of the chronograph from Kerstin Gier's Ruby Red Trilogy, the German series that was adapted into the movies.
The chronograph is an invention used for time travel. It contains twelve gemstones that correspond to twelve time travelers who have a special time travel gene.
On the chronograph, you can set a specific date to which the traveler should go back in time and for how long (time is limited; the traveler's maximum time depends on what gemstone they are). The traveler reappears in the exact same place from which they disappeared.
The chronograph is powered by the blood of a time traveler. The person inserts their finger into the machine, the blood punctures their finger, and the blood ignites a gemstone that is subject to the traveler.
This is how the chronograph works in the first movie, Ruby Red, where the Ruby time traveler uses it:

Quite similar to what we see in the Link Click's ending.
What is also interesting in the Kerstin Gier's series, the chronograph contains an elixir of immortality, which can only be extracted when the blood of every time traveler appears in the chronograph.
It is also worth mentioning that the chronograph is not necessary for time travel. It simply makes the time travel controlled. Travelers go back in time randomly, they themselves are not able to control when and to what time they go back, nor how long their journey will last. The chronograph prevents such uncontrolled travel.
I honestly doubt the creators of Link Click had any prior experience with a German teenage paranormal romance about time travel, but who knows.

I am aware that (probably) the only other german people I know on this app are my friend and my literal sibling, but I can't NOT speak about thisss
Tumblr media
THESE TWO MET UP AGAIN YESTERDAY. AHHHH.
Their names are Maria Ehrich and Jannis Niew枚hner and they play the main characters in the movie adaption of one of my favorite German book series, Rubinrot <3<3
The English name is The Ruby Red Trilogy. Even though I do believe the country they're known in second best is Russia. For some reason.
ANYWAY. It's been 7 years since the last movie aired and I still haven't gotten over them. So I got real giddy when he appeared on her insta story yesterday!!
