Being set down was good enough, but the book being swiped? Man, she needed a few more inches or something compared to this person who had... literally just yoinked her up like a helpless kitten a few seconds ago. But her question sparked a bit of confusion in the Herrscher.

"If I'm honest, I don't actually know. There was no name on the cover, nor on the inside. But if it came from this 'previous era', then I guess that's the answer." She honestly didn't know because it had been tucked into the weirdest spot ever. There was no name or anything, but it had the information she had needed... didn't it?

Taking the book back, she carefully put it in her bag. She'd checked it out a little bit ago, but had figured to spend some time reading it before taking it home. "Ruby, huh... I'm Esther."

So this Ruby was the 'Herrscher of Liberation'... fancy. "I don't have anything as fancy as that. Herrscher of Voidal Flame, though that sounds like I've just got void fire..." She shrugged. "I don't really know this whole Herrscher business but I'm guessing, from your earlier question to me, not all of them are 'for humanity'?"

She frowned a little at the pink-haired person's request. Couldn't gauge how her body reacted to stress so now she could barely hold a spoon? That wasn't good. Sounded like Tidus on a day he went overboard on his training while being Yuna's Guardian.

"Sure. Hope you like maki rolls, because that's what I was going to make myself for lunch." Sushi for lunch? More likely than one thought.

And here’s Karma, slipping into Esther’s bed in the middle of the night. Was she just coming to bed? Or being cheeky? Were they together? Or were they friends? Who knows? The only fact is Karma’s absolutely coming in to cuddle Esther

Esther mumbles in her sleep, turning over to cuddle up to Karma. She's not disturbed by this, instead just content.

Somewhere, a car explodes.

Ruby oicked up Esther by the back of her shirt and held her up to eye level like a kitten.

"You're a Herrscher." The usually cheery voice was still there, but there was a dangerous edge to it. "Do you fight with or against humanity?"

"Hey, put me down!" Esther said, trying to get the other's hand off of her. She wasn't just something to pick up like this! The Herrscher frowned a little at the question. Fight with or against Humanity? What sort of question was that?

"For humanity, obviously! What do you take me for--" And then it clicked. Herrscher.

This person knew what Herrschers were. She hadn't known until a little digging had presented results, but...

"....Wait, how do you know about Herrschers? I didn't know until I dug some information up in this old book." And she held up the book to emphasize the point. It was old enough that the cover was cracked and a bit was missing, as well as the pages being yellow.
