Dirty Diana
Paring: Bo Duke x Female reader
Word count: 1,107
Rating: 16+
Warning: A bit suggestive, Swears, Bo being Bo
A/N: for my first ever fic, I'd say this went pretty damn well. taglist down below, inbox always open
July 13th, 1979
It was a usual Friday in Hazzard County about 5:00 in the afternoon, with Boss Hogg cooking up some illegal scheme to get rich, Daisy working at the Boar’s Nest, Enos trying to get her attention, and Bo and Luke Duke were probably out running from Rosco. Speaking of Bo Duke, he owed you quite a bit of money. You two had made a deal a while back. All of the neighboring counties were holding races and he had bet you that he and Luke were going to win them all, and if not all, more than you. He was so sure they were going to win, with both of them being able to drive and fix up a car, that he had bet you $20 for every race you win. You had won the first race, but as of right now? You were screwed. You could only drive, not tune a car. And that was another problem, you didn’t know anybody that could! I mean, there used to be Cooter, but the boys? They had gotten him on their side after the last race, and all your other friends were drivers, not mechanics. Where in hell where you going to find a mechanic this quick. Maybe you could get lucky and Daisy could secretly be good under the hood! That was it, you were going to get in the car, speed towards the Boar’s Nest, and pray that Daisy was your next mechanic.
Turns out she was, and you now had a mechanic for the rest of the competition. Provided that she wasn’t a spy for the boys…. Which I don’t believe her to be, but you can’t be too careful. Now back to what matters, winning the races. Part of you wanted to win for the money, cause if you won all the races, it was well over $100. $20 for every race you won times 7 races was $140, and by God did you not want to have to give the boys that much. But the bigger part of you wanted to win just to beat them. You didn’t mind if you were beat by the other racers, just not the Duke boys. You would rather die than let Bo or Luke have bragging rights to this. Especially Bo, he would tease you to no end. Constantly going on and on and on about how he beat little miss hotshot at not only 1, but 7 races. 7!! He would be insufferable
To avoid letting them win, you’d need to do some work on Dirty Diana (your car). And that’s what you were doing right now, albeit a bit awkwardly considering Bo and Luke had just pulled up in the General Lee. And of course, it was right as you were bent over under the hood, guaranteeing the first comment from Bo was going to be something- “What’s cookin’ good lookin’?” with a low whistle at the end. Luke rolled his eyes and chuckled before going inside the bar. “Shut the hell up, Bo, can’t you see I’m tryna’ work here?” you said, not looking up from the car. He took a quick glance up and down. “Yes, I can see that actually, quite a nice view too.” He sat down on the hood of the General.
You sigh and push yourself off the car and look at him. “Why are you always like this?” “I don’t know, maybe because it’s you.” The fuck did he mean by that? “The fuck do you mean by that?” “You’re just so easy to tease, pumpkin.” “…Stop calling me pumpkin before I throw a wrench at you.” He bit his lip and laughed a bit. “Feisty, just the way I like ‘em.” I don’t know about you, but he’s really getting on my nerves. “Fuck you, Bo.” “Oh, talk dirtier to me, it’s turning me on.” Yeah…. that’s it. Tell him off! He can’t treat you like this! You go back to working on the car and try to ignore him. Or not…silent treatment works too…I guess. Well… ‘try’ was the keyword. No matter how hard you tried, nobody could ignore Bo. He was too persistent. Cause goddamn if he wanted attention, he was gonna get it, and if there was anything he wanted most in the world right now, it was your attention. So that’s what he was going to get, by any means necessary, but you weren’t going to let him.
“You know…. you’re cute when you’re angry.” …what? Cute? He’s never called you that before. He’s called you hot, sexy, everything along those lines, but never cute. “What did you say?” You looked up and his expression was softer than normal. “I said you’re cute when you’re angry.” “You’re lying, you’ve never said I was cute, so don’t start now.” “No, I’s the truth. I think you’re cute, always have, and probably always will.” What. The. Fuck. “So, you decided to flirt with anything that is remotely feminine, but harass me? And besides, I’m not your type. You like stick thin Barbie dolls.” He hops off the hood and starts walking over to you, pressing his chest to your back, his head on your shoulder and his arms around your waist. “Yeah, so what? Those are the kind of girls a guy goes on one-night stands with. Quick hookups. Not girlfriend material.”
… Wait… he’s got a point. “And I am? I’m such good girlfriend material that you decided to borderline bully me since the 8th grade?” “Mhm!” He says cheerfully. “Had to make sure you could put up will al my bullshit” Okay, you have to admit, he is being pretty damn cute right now. “So what do you say? Wanna give it a shot?” He’s serious about this? Damn, I guess you do get bitched after all. “Sure why not. But I swear to god if you fuck it up.” “I won’t princess, I won’t” You whack him with the little rag that was next to you. He lets out a yelp mixed with a laugh and jumps back. “I can’t call you princess? But I’m you boyfriend! I gotta call you cheesy pennames, it’s in the handbook!”
Out of the corner of you eye, you see Luke start to open the door of the Boar’s Nest so you give Bo a quick kiss and swat his butt. He walks back to the General, vibrating with visible excitement. The boys get in the car and you wave.
“Bye Bo, Bye Luke!” “Bye sweetheart. See you in Choctaw!”
Oh you were so gonna beat their ass in the next race.

Okay, who gave my delinquent middle brother a motor scooter to troll cops with?
It was bad enough when Dad bought him that retired surplus unmarked police cruiser with the souped up engine that occasion he trolled a Chesapeake cop by leading him on a merry chase on the back roads of Pughsville. The kid acted like he thought he was one of them Duke boys evading Sheriff Roscoe and Deputy Enos.

What they get you for Christmas
Pairing: Hazzard family x fem! reader
Category: Preferences
Summary: What they get you for Christmas.
Warning: None
Bo- A puppy. He saw how happy you were when you and the boys visited the farm that had the newborn litter. He did a little work on the farmer’s truck in exchange for the squirming, yipping puppy you found under the tree on Christmas morning.
Luke- A beautiful new necklace. The present comes with a story told by a blushing Luke and a laughing Bo of how the boys found themselves in a big city jewelers store being helped by a woman who clearly didn’t want them there. But Luke stood form and didn’t leave until he found a necklace he knew you would love.
Daisy- A bottle of a brand-new perfume that instantly becomes your favorite. Daisy has been making note of your perfume, clothing and jewelry tastes for a while. It wasn’t hard to pick a scent she knew you would love.
Uncle Jesse- A wooden jewelry box he made himself. You had caught Uncle Jesse a couple times working on something out in the barn, but every time you asked about it he had shooed you off with a characteristic grumble. Never had you imagined that he was making something for you, something you would treasure far more than the jewelry you put inside.
Cooter- Free oil changes and tune-ups for a year. Cooter likes to give of his time instead of his money. The gift comes with a caveat, though. It applies to your car alone, meaning Bo and Luke can’t cash in on it with the General Lee. (Not that they ever would however they did look kinda disappointed when you told them this.)
Rosco- Fine forgiveness on a few of the tickets he’s written you. Although you didn’t really plan on paying them back in the first place, you thank him none the less. It took a lot for him to give you some grace where your tickets are concerned.
Enos- One of his favorite books. You had both shared your love of reading many times since you met. Be it while waiting for Uncle Jesse to come bail the boys out or even to bail you out, you and Enos had passed the time reviewing and comparing the books you had read. The book he gave you was one you hadn’t read before, however as soon as you do it instantly becomes your favorite.
Boss Hog- A small sample can of pickled pig’s feet. You’re fairly certain he got the can for free, but you thank him anyway because it’s the thought that counts. He’s not used to being thanked, and it makes his chest swell up even more for the rest of Christmas day.
Lulu- A brand new dress she had caught you eyeing in the store window a few weeks ago. Lulu knew you would look absolutely stunning in it, and according to everyone else she was right. You looked beautiful. When you tried to object because of how expensive it was, she brushed the objections aside. Something had to be done with all her husband’s money. It was nice to see it go to good use for a change.

Honestly? I figured he’d leave it to Enos. Enos was always Rosco’s favorite, to the point he went all the way to LA to check on him in the show Enos. When Enos was leaving, Rosco was genuinely upset as he missed. Rosco also stook his neck out a few times for Enos.
I love the idea of him leaving things to Bo and Duke, but I honestly think Rosco saw Enos like a son and left most of it to him.
Dukes head canon
I don’t include most of the stuff in the reunion movies as part of Dukes of Hazzard canon. One thing about them that did make sense to me was that Boss would leave his money and everything to Rosco. After all, Rosco was loyal to him and Boss had no kids of his own. His relationships with his blood relatives were rocky, at best. So, that’s canon for me.
Think on this, though. Who is Rosco going to leave his money to? He has no children and no nieces or nephews. We know he lives a long life, probably outliving most, if not all, of his family. The ones shown are all older than him.
I really think he might leave all of his money and stuff to Bo and Luke. They were a large part of his life and I believe he did have affection for them, even if he mostly kept it well hidden. And, it would be a way for him to acknowledge some of the wrongs he did, when he was younger. He’d know they would use the money to the good of Hazzard. That’s my head canon.

I am not Brian Eno
This blog name came from a list of band names I floated, none of which were accepted. In the spirit of this blog which I conceptualised less than thirty minutes ago, posting a list of fake band names is one of the things that I categorise as “writing about music”, so. Here.
God is dead, the universe is meaningless, print journalism is dying but I was never going to get paid to do this anyway, here’s some junk that my bandmates were smart enough to reject:
Mano Pigna
Fire Creek Factory
Furnace Glow
Peregrine Falcon
The art of falconry
Raccoon tamer
Brunt bearer
Spiken
Thumb war
Nineteen ninety two
Collapsing airways
Restlessness
Numb arm
When music made money
Long ways home
Tactmaster
Westriff
Midwestriff
Raftfloater
Crawfish toil
All the dead jazz singers
Happen Stance
Weak wealth
Failure Rats
Broom people
chamber of commerce
Friendshome
The burdens
Safety razor
Businessless
Strawmen
Danny’s here
Easy way out
Fuckin’ Tuesday
Brooding
Golf is shit
Pale saviors
Pale grins
Seeing daylight
Lonely giants
Blood royal
Crow crag
Not Brian Eno
Calmer police
Roscoe
Horse blanket
Moss and machine
Glasphemy
Witness renovation
Are you the farmer?
Worldhogbutcher
ಠ_ಠ
Quentintin
Century of progress
Red tailed
Snow Day
End of history

In the early 80s, just how many Friday nights were composed of these five things?
After walking in through the back service entrance to the deli, that’s the actual guy who would glare at me before making my sub.
Delicious, wholesome fruit pies, whatever flavor was left. LUCK OF THE DRAW.
The TV -- our TV! -- is a screenshot from the Netflix series, Mindhunter, which, in between descriptions of brutal killings, is chock-full of 70s/80s nostalgia/props. Ours was actually black & white because color TV was for the fancy folk. All that’s missing are the pliers we used to change the VHF channels after the dial broke off.
I believe the twin tours-de-force of Love Boat and Fantasy Island were on Saturday, which was a whole family affair I could take or leave. Friday night was all about me, the green guy, and Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane.

I always loved that end credits scene and how it showed that Daisy and Enos were still friends even though she kind of embarrassed him at the station. Just doing what she had to do to save the family farm!
hi anon,
yes she used her sexuality to manipulate him but i love how he would tell the dukes everything boss and roscoe did anyway. I also love how he was on the job but still got icecream sundaes and went all out. i ship daisy with enos and cooter, their friendship is the best thing in the show. I also lmao when that cop busts all the others and tells daisy to fix her own car, which i'm sure she'd be capable of! jess simpson did well as daisy. I also love Catherine Bach in the 70s tv show, but I usually just rewatch Dukes the beginning because it's them in their teens and Enos is even more adorable!

2017, In Review
If I am being honest, the #1 thing I will remember about 2017 is the one thing I want to forget about it: the rage and the hatred — specifically, my rage and my hatred. It had an intensity I’d never previously experienced, and hope never to again. But, of course, it is incorrect to place this emotion in the past. My anger has only slightly dissipated, and continues to burn every damn day. That said, it hasn’t just been a corrosive force, but a teaching tool as well, demonstrating that hatred born, suddenly and intensely, of a particular target and singular focus, can easily spread outwards, and will sooner or later turn back in on its source. Which is where I find myself now, exhausted and no better off.
I write this as a pre-amble to my list of favorite music/art because that is this year’s context - because this time around, the culture I admired, was inspired by and engaged with had to serve a (slightly?) different purpose. Or, maybe, a more intense one. There's always the question of how much a critical ear is guided by personal circumstances, and how much by social influence; it is a partner to the artistic process, always has and always will be. (One reason I continually dismiss the recurrent “end of criticism” jeremiads, because the doomsayers are merely writing obituaries for a particular process of thought or distribution system, rather than the art of the crit itself.)
But once I found some semblance of sea legs to ride through the current epoch — “some semblance,” because I believe not a single living creature shall escape The Now unaffected — I recognized a need for another critical way of looking at how/what we create, and at the purpose behind which we creatively consume. A way of seeing and hearing that not only anticipates the narrative but also lays groundwork for its next chapter. This is, of course, an imperfect measure, because culture doesn’t move in predictable directions, and almost any 20-20 prophet is likely to either be a speculator or a fool. Often, but not always.
Yet, if there was one underlying principle that guided me in 2017, it is to try and understand of what will come after the anger and the hate. Some of the answers were aspirational, some of them were reflexive, and others filled in important parts of the backstory that were missed because I was too busy paying attention to the shiny expensive things in the store window. Maybe it’s just an exercise of trying to steer the anger towards a more useful place.

Dean loved Dukes of Hazzard. He could vaugly remember a time when he curled up in his mother’s lap as his parents watched the newest episode premiere on the t.v. There was just something about it. Maybe it was the ex-marine Luke who looked after and protected his younger cousins; or the gorgeous and talented cousin Daisy who could handle her own against any opponent; or even the skilled driver and ladies man youngest cousin Bo. Maybe it was how the car the General Lee was treated like a character in its own right. Or the kind living Uncle Jesse that held everything together. He loved watching the Duke family square up against the county commissioner Boss Hogg and his incompetent police force of Rosco P. Coltrain, Enos Strait, and Cletus Hogg. Maybe he lived it so much because at its core it was about family and no matter what happened the family pulled through.
When he got older, he kept watching it. His feelings for Daisy went from adoration to a crush, his love of the car bled into his love of his own baby. He still enjoyed country music but his favorite was Waylon Jennings song ‘Good ole boys’. His father used to play it before some hunts, and Dean could feel why. There were a few similarities between them and the Dukes, two guys like brothers who get into trouble trying to do the right thing.
At some point Dukes of Hazzard became something related to his parents, to Lee Webb. It was probably why after making sure Sam was alright that he went out and bought the series. Maybe he was just missing simplier times, or he was missing all those who were gone. Either way he was halfway through season one when a knock came at his door.
“Dukes of Hazzard? Haven’t seen that in a while.” Sam said, sitting on the edge of his bed, looking at the screen. Dean recalled the last time that they watched it was when the remake came out. They had concluded the only good thing about it was watching Jessica Simpson in short denim and rewatched the whole series to try and forget about it. “Dean, what happened?” Sam asked. From his tone, Dean knew he’s been debating on asking for a while. Dean ignored him to watch the police raid on the music studio instead. “Dean, were you hunting?” Sam asked. Dean really wanted him to stop pushing.
“Lee Webb is dead.” Dean finally said. No words about how he fell, nothing about the betrayl and the fight.
“Oh.” Sam said. He knew not to ask more. “So? Daisy’s Song?” Sam asked glancing back at him. Dean nodded.
“Daisy’s song.” he confirmed, sipping a beer. At the moment things were looking alright. Sam was alright and had hope, Eileen and Cas were safe in the bunker, and the issues with God were far from his mind.

While I was at work today, the radio was tuned in to old country stuff. Some of it even the good stuff. *lol* With nothing other than sweeping the floor to occupy my mind as the end of the day neared, my mind happily wandered to fannish things.
Why do I bringing this up? Because of a song in particular that played while I was doing that sweeping. :D
Waylon Jennings - Good Ol’ Boys. AKA the Dukes of Hazzard theme song.
Dukes of Hazzard-style AU. Sunny and Sides as the Duke boys (Luke and Bo, respectively). Ironhide as Uncle Jesse. Arcee---maybe---as Daisy. Wheeljack as Cooter.
Not quite sure on Boss Hogg, Rosco, and Enos. Yet. XD Would definitely have to figure out how to fit others in, too. Not that this’ll ever go anywhere, but the thought hit me so strong that I had to share. <3
