CBE’s Post-Harvest Manufacturing List: Remediation
Producing clean cannabis products is crucial for any operation looking for long-term success. The ability to pass state-mandated product safety tests determines whether your products get to market or if your facility gets dinged with a failed test violation and a potential process audit from regulators. Seeking to lower the risk of a failed lab test derailing production plans, some cultivators…

Can I ask what the formulas are that donnie calculates to make a big boom(??)
Just curious, lolol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course! There’s a few different ones in there including the infamous e=mc2, but the majority are meant to calculate the energy released in a nuclear explosion. There’s also the Born–Oppenheimer (BO) approximation (which makes the assumption that the wave functions of atomic nuclei and electrons in a molecule can be treated separately) for the sake of his creative process. Admittedly t’s not 100% accurate (because nuclei and electrons CAN move at the same speed) but Donnie is working on the fly here with nothing but his still limited mortal brain and it has been accurate enough to aid his basic needs in blowing up Krang. So uh… just trust him on it haha!

Don't wanna bother reblogging these people, but just saw an ~~anti-endo~~ say this:
"Just because someone thinks they’re experiencing something doesn’t mean they truly are."
Here's why this is one of the most useless arguments ever:
There's really only three ways that someone even could think they're experiencing something that they aren't. A lack of education about the experience, by mistake, or via hallucination/delusion.
Are there non-traumagenic systems out there who aren't educated on all the types of plurality, diagnostic criteria for dissociative disorders, etc? Sure. Same for traumagenic systems. Not all systems are perfectly educated on all the terms, theories, hypotheses, and so sometimes you're going to get a system who thinks their experience is one thing-- but isn't.
However, this isn't what the OP is implying.
By mistake is mostly the same thing, except this is "the system was fully educated on these things but either guessed or remembered wrong, and eventually found something more accurate for them". It happens. It happened to us.
However, this also isn't what the OP is implying.
Hallucinations and/or delusions are when someone thinks they're experiencing something (or believes something) that is objectively not possible or true.
This is more of what the OP is implying, because they simply don't think non-traumagenic systems are at all possible.
And that's fucking wrong.
It's one thing to say "just because someone thinks something is true, doesn't mean it is" for objective, outward issues. If someone claims their hair is green when it's brown, if someone says they're the president of England, if someone claims they can turn into a raccoon, or that they see dogs surrounding them... those are things that are either physically impossible or outwardly verifiable.
Being a system is not impossible. It's also not outwardly verifiable. There is no one test or brain scan or MRI that proves whether or not someone is a system, or what the origins of that system are. Systems, and what causes them, are not something that can be simply passed off as a hallucination or delusion. It's subjective, it's internal, and there's nothing in science that proves that trauma or disorder is the only thing that causes systems.
Can a system "think they’re experiencing something that they're not"? Yes. Including system origins, or being disordered or not.
Is a system "experiencing something they're not" just by saying they're non-disordered, or non-traumagenic? No. Because there's no proof that it's impossible. There probably will never be proof that it's impossible.
This is an argument that has been made a million times, and debunked a million times. Get over it and move on.

what sweet tooth could have been:
An exploration of the effects of humans irresponsibly playing with genetic power, which not only releases a several million year old virus on the world that kills billions, but ultimately leads to changing humanity forever by irreversibly mutating human DNA to give our children animal features, forcing humanity to really examine what makes someone human a la x-men/ kipo.
what we got instead:
magic tree in a cave make people sick. tree on fire cure sick everywhere instantly because reasons.

Oak Ridge National Laboratory scientists identified a gene "hotspot" in the poplar tree that triggers dramatically increased root growth. The discovery supports the development of better bioenergy crops and other plants that can thrive in difficult conditions while storing more carbon belowground. The team used a vast poplar dataset to identify regulator genes that can trigger hundreds of other gene expressions in the tree. They confirmed the molecular function of one hub gene, PtrXB38, and found that plants with the gene produced prolific and deeper roots. The gene even stimulated the growth of aerial roots on stems and leaves. The work is published in the journal New Phytologist. "With more roots, these plants absorb more nutrients, grow larger, are more tolerant to drought and can draw more carbon underground for longer-term storage," said ORNL's Wellington Muchero. The aerial roots may also make the plant more tolerant to flooding. "This naturally occurring gene has implications for biomass production, food production and climate change mitigation."

Donnie suddenly creeps out from the crowd, standing closely to you. He carries a clunky radio transmitter on his back- made from the same scrap metal as his goggles and other unusual parts. Despite its rugged look, it seems to be effectively powered by Donnie's mystic energy- broadcasting whatever sounds that reach the microphone to all radio devices.
He shoves the microphone in your face and calls out to you in his best reporter voice, “You are LIVE my friend! What great knowledge do you wish to bestow upon my divine listeners?”

"Greetings, my fellow counterpart!" Donnie claimed, looking impressed with the tech the other seemed to be carrying. "Holly mac and cheese balls- you found a way to make mystic energy and tech work together?! That's impressive!"
Donatello, next to him, looked at the other in shock... before getting an idea. That... just like how the Dragon's had made mystic energy and tech work together. That's exactly what he needed to be able to open a portal to send the rise turtles back. "...This is life, you said?" He asked, to which the other nodded. As Donnie continued to gush over his gear, Donatello cleared his throat. "...In that case, uhm- hello?"
Curse him for being so awkward. Oh well. "...It had come to my attention that a lot of us seem to have figured out how to use mystic energy and technology-"
"Can you make a dance machine?!" All turtles in purple yelped in surprise when Leo appeared out of nowhere, starry eyes and giggling like a maniac. "Donnie! Look at that! There are more nerds like you out there!"
"Why you-" the soft shell jumped on top of the other, attempting to strangle him even as his twin continued to laugh. The other two Donnie's looked at them in disappointed silence.

Apparently I'm not done with the negative comments because there is one thing that I think is actually kind of interesting - the vast majority of complaints haven't changed no matter how many times that sort of conversation pops up.
Why are the complaints still overall the same even after some years have passed?
Is it because the headcanons and tropes that people bring up the most are otherwise pretty well liked? Is it because we as a fandom have a hard time accepting change? Are there people out there who maybe want to change things up a bit but don't know how to? Do people need pointers on where to go for information on games they don't have access to?
I'm very much part of the 'make more of you want to see crowd' because you can't control anybody else and I still stand by the fact that people should encourage writers and fanfic writers they do like. However, I do wonder if people need more guidance and resources that as a fandom we could help out with.
Note: please don't just leave trope and headcanon complaints here because that's not what this post is about. The repeated complaints are a symptom and I'm interested in discussing possible causes. If I can possibly provide help in some way, I would like to try to.

Biocentrism Contradicts Communism
As you can probably tell, my background in revolutionary theory comes from Marxism, which I consider to be a brilliant critique of capitalism. But as to what should be implemented in capitalism’s place, I don’t think Marxism has shown us the answer. One of the reasons for this, I believe, is that communism, socialism, and all other left ideologies that I know of speak only about redistributing the spoils of raping the earth more evenly among classes of humans. They do not even address the relationship of the society to the earth, Or rather, they assume that it will stay the same as it is under capitalism — that of a gluttonous consumer. And that the purpose of the revolution is to find a more efficient and egalitarian way to produce and distribute consumer goods.
This total disregard of nature as a life force, rather than just a source of raw materials, allowed Marxist states to rush to industrialize without even the most meager environmental safeguards. This has resulted in such noted disasters as the meltdown of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the oil spill in the Arctic Ocean, and the ongoing liquidation of the fragile forests of Siberia. It has left parts of Russia and Eastern Europe with such a toxic legacy that vast areas are now uninhabitable. Marx stated that the primary contradiction in industrial society is the contradiction between capital and labor. I believe these disasters show that there is an equally important contradiction between industrial society and the earth.
But even though socialism has so far failed to take ecology into account, I do not think it is beyond reform, as is capitalism. One of the principles of socialism is “production for use, not for profit.” Therefore, the imbalance is not as built in under socialism as it is under capitalism, and I could envision a form of socialism that would not destroy the earth. But it would be unlike Marx’s industrial model .
Ecological socialism, among other things, would have to deal with the issue of centralism. The Marxist idea of a huge body politic relating to some central planning authority presupposes (1) authoritarianism of some sort; and (2) the use of mass production technologies that are inherently destructive to the earth and corrosive to the human spirit. Ecological socialism would mean organizing human societies in a manner that is compatible with the way that nature is organized. And I believe the natural order of the earth is bioregionalism, not statism.
Modern industrial society robs us of community with each other and community with the earth. This creates a great longing inside us, which we are taught to fill with consumer goods. But consumer goods, beyond those needed for basic comfort and survival, are not really what we crave. So our appetite is insatiable, and we turn to more and more efficient and dehumanizing methods of production to make more and more goods that do not satisfy us. If workers really had control of the factories (and I say this as a former factory worker), they would start by smashing the machines and finding a more humane way to decide what we need and how to produce it. So to the credo “production for use, not for profit,” ecological socialism would add, “production for need, not for greed.”
