How COVID-19 Impacted on Vitamins and Supplements Market ?
Tumblr media
Impact of COVID-19 on Vitamins and Supplements in the Food And Beverage Industry
INTRODUCTION
The virus (COVID-19) ranging from common cold Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) and severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) has affected people in the entire world within a short period of span and has created a critical situation including economic and social challenges. Vitamin supplements are required by people suffering from a particular medical condition that leads to deficiencies. The intake of vitamin supplements helps in fulfilling the requirement of the body.
The supplement industry has increased among the multiple pockets as most of the consumer has raised their interest on overall health and wellness. There has been an immense growth in the vitamins required for supplement industry.
As per WHO (World Health Organization) there have been no cases of transmission of COVID-19 through food and food packaging but measures such as good manufacturing practices (GMPs) along with sanitation and cleaning of food processing equipment and facilities should be followed.
PRE-COVID 19 IMPACTS
The U.S. VMS industry experienced steady growth of 6% per year from 2015-2019, surpassing growth in both related segments, such as functional foods and drinks (2% -3% per year), and the U.S. GDP (2% -3% per annum) for the same time span.
For instance,
·         The farmer favorability survey shows that 75 percent of people shared a favorable opinion of the U.K. agriculture, which is the highest figure since OnePoll started conducting the annual survey in 2012. This also marks an improvement of six percentage points in public favorability since June 2019, which is in addition to a further rise of five percentage points from June 2018–2019.
The demand was high till the end of the year of 2019, then pandemic came and caused critical situation in the market and led into supply and demand chain disruption.
POST COVID 19 IMPACT
In July 2020, The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) have announced the Awards function for the Food and Drink Federation Association which will take place at The Royal Lancaster, London in February 2021. The annual awards recognize those involved in the industry's dedication and determination, actions that ensured that the nation was fed during the pandemic.
As with the strict measures, the governing authorities reopened the transportation facilities and shops and many others, again the shelves in the shops are fulfilled with the food products and consumers are now able to get their choice of desired need.
Further manufacturers have taken few initiatives from their end by taking strict measures for the production of food products. Due to reopening of the supply chain has helped the consumers and manufacturer to get fulfilled with desired need, and now the demand for the healthy foods will increase with much high percent as it enhances the immunity of an individual. The immunity enhancement during the pandemic is much more needed, hence it has seen that eating habits of consumers are getting changed and they are now more inclined towards the healthy food products. It has also been estimated that consumer preference for the fruit intake has increased by 58.0%, protein intake by 37.0% and many others. Increasing awareness regarding immunity building by consuming healthy food has increased the demand for the products and now consumers want to increase their health in order to boost their immunity and reduce vulnerability to disease and illness.
During the start month of 2020, corona spread took place and it resulted into lockdown in city, courtiers. These typical measures included social distancing, closing hotels, schools, restaurants and many other places such as stores. Due to shut down in the store facility and also transportation, there was lack in the products in market for consumers. Also, international borders were made closed which limited the supply of food products such and convenience and healthy foods, and because of this food supply chains were completely broken or drastically changed with food business. Consumers were not getting their food products and manufacturer was not getting enough raw materials for the production of healthy foods. Due to these reasons, demand and the market value for the healthy foods were decreasing.
Further, also the demand will increase in the future as consumers have now more aware that how much healthy food is important to fight with various diseases and this will be of help for the health food sector to grow at very high rate in the market in upcoming future.
VITAMINS IN FOOD, BEVERAGE AND SUPPLEMENT INDUSTRY: PERSPECTIVE AND INITIATIVES
The COVID-19 pandemic have drastically changed the food consumption pattern of the living being, which is counted as 8 out 10 people and have changed their ways of eating habits and have incorporated nutritional enriched food products in their day to day life.  For instance, According to the International Food Information Council’s (IFIC) 2020 Food and Health Survey, 85% of Americans made changes in the food they eat or how they prepare food because in the time of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The burst of pandemic panic complements a steady rise in the healthy food consumption and their sales that investors have largely overlooked amid the financial debacles of better-known food incorporated with vitamins and minerals, fish oil and probiotics among others.
For instance,
“'The COVID-19 Product Tracker helps us understand the needs of people about food throughout those hard times. This expertise has helped in informing the work of Ministerial Vulnerability Task Force, which will continue to do so.
I want to thank the voluntary sector and the local authorities, who are working hard to identify a number of routes for UK governments to tackle. We are going to continue to play our part in fighting this global pandemic and ensuring that there is safe food.”
·         Heather Hancock, Chairman (Food Standards Agency)
“Romania’s agricultural producers have been threatened by market shocks, supply chains and exports, thus facing increased uncertainty going into the season of harvesting in 2020. Making available additional farm funding will help farmers resolve these obstacles, benefiting rural communities and critical industries through and beyond the COVID-19 era.”
·         Mark Davis, Regional Director (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development)
“They will continue to foster European unity to recover from the economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Along with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank, the Commission is proud to endorse this financing arrangement with Agricover Credit, which aims to protect Romanian farmers.”
·         Paolo Gentiloni, European Commissioner (European Investment Bank (EIB)).
“There’s a growing demand from governments to tackle the issue of obesity and a consumer trend towards healthier products. Sugar taxes, like the Soft Drinks Industry Levy in the UK, are being implemented around the world and it’s likely other measures will follow. Evidence from the COVID-19 pandemic is also showing that people with obesity linked conditions are more likely to super serious complications. Health is emerging as a key investment risk,”
·         Mais Callan, Senior Responsible Investment Manager (Nestle)
“Consumers today demand healthier food options, including healthier snacks. This can range from snacks without artificial additives and preservatives or with less sodium or salt, non-fried or baked snacks or use of healthier ingredients like wholegrain.”
·         Olive Bai, Marketing Manager Of Savory Snacks (Kerry APMEA)
“Consumers are also becoming more health conscious in general and the pandemic prompted even more to be aware of their health and lifestyles, Apart from learning and increasingly preparing their own meals at home, the growing availability of healthy snacks, organic and low-fat food options is also something appreciated by consumers.”
·         Freshippo CEO (Alibaba Group)
“If you look at functional foods, there is a trend towards increasing nutrient density in foods which are already considered healthy, Especially in Asia; the customers want to come out with new line extensions. Innovation will remain a focus for many customers as they are looking to come out ahead in the marketplace,”
·         Anand Sundaresan, Regional VP Human Nutrition & Health APAC (DSM)
“Companies were mostly clearing their warehouse stocks, instead of investing in capacity building to meet the heightened demand for plant extracts, especially those that confer immune benefits. Even if the demand is big, the factories are not willing to increase their investments for capacity building. This means that production capacity will not see a significant increase,”
“At least 20% to 30% of the orders received across the member companies cannot be filled due to supply chain problems, and so many of us are getting for a slot to ship out our products,”
·         Yinjun Hou, The Chairman (Shaanxi Plant Extract Association)
CONCLUSION
The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll on the global economy and population. A joint campaign to combat the coronavirus on states, departments of public health, and hospital community have contributed to economic slowdowns, regional lockdowns, and drastic public safety measures. Public health initiatives include raising awareness about calculating home quarantine, preserving food and healthcare supplies, and governments around the world are following strictly, especially to the poor. With rising customer understanding of immunity-boosting to avoid COVID-19 prevalence is driving the safe food industry market. In addition, taking into account consumer demand manufacturers claim their products as healthy with various ingredients added for boosting immunity. The delay caused by the impact on the logistics industry, however, indicates a decreased supply of raw materials and thus there is a restricted supply of such goods on the market that limits this business. Consumers have become more aware of home-grown food and are also searching for healthier alternatives, driving the organic food market. It is projected that due to the growing prevalence of COVID-19 and consumer awareness to improve the immunity with no additional supplements would expand the healthy food market in the coming years.

I’ve worked for Jewish businesses. If the Jews were truly running things we’d have had Universal Healthcare generations ago. Really nice retirement. Better schools with mandatory math and science programs. Money pouring into medical and scientific research.
Do Whitey Conservatives really believe that if the dreaded Jews were running things that Jews would be excluded from Rich Whitey golf courses?
Yes, you will see a disportionate representation of Jews in Professions and Sciences for the same reason you see disportionate numbers of Asians in Sciences.
It’s because “Intelligence” is a PROCESS. Intelligence is TAUGHT through the Culture. Intelligence is NOT inherited in your “blood” as a birthrite! Process Intelligence makes it significantly easier for some cultures to succeed.
Jews, certain Asian cultures, Romanians, Hindus, some African & Caribbean cultures TEACH school students to do math in their heads. Tremendous advantage in Life. The mentor who taught me to do math in my head learned how to do math in his head from the Japanese Yakuza he was negotiating with in the post-WW2 black markets in Japan.
Some cultures emphasize teaching children games which require math skills like dominos or which require foreseeing how various competing choices will play out, like Chess.
White Supremacy: whether Antebellum South, Jim Crow era, Fascist Europe, current America, White Conservatives held/hold positions of power because they are White Conservatives - an inheritance - no Intelligence need be demonstrated.
Don’t White Supremacists, American or European, generally sound ignorant as Sin? The sub-culture teaches them it is acceptable to willfully Ignorant. The Conservative bozos voting on abortions have no concern for the consequences of their actions. Listen to the Legislators from Georgia, Missouri, Alabama - they are the first to say that they “don’t know when Life begins”. Watch them express Pride of ignorance. Cutural indoctrination.
Consequences of actions are instilled by the cultures of Jew, some Asians, some Eastern Europeans, some African cultures so that the shame is in “not knowing”. Not being able to work out consequences. In those cultures, to speak as an anti-abortion Legislator typically does would embarrass yourself, your family, your community, your Society. What you said would be a hilarious joke repeated around dinner tables, in cafes & bars for generations. Pointed lesson for the young.
I grew up Catholic in what was called the “bagel belt” of the San Fernando Valley. A nice Jewish neighborhood. Emphasis in elementary school was on through research. Having good math skills. Reading. Remembering history.
Our school didn’t make fun of stuttering, how people dressed, accents. Some boys did cry; so what? We didn’t have to deal with bullies. Never a fight on the playground. I was a B- student
In middle school I wound up in a more Whitey neighborhood school. Suddenly I’m an A++ student. Get called to the Boys VP and interrogated as how I cheated on a History exam. Forced to retake the exam orally to prove I had the knowledge. Then to a Couselor as to why I had slacked off in Elementary School? Then the moment when they look in the file and see WHERE I’d gone to school and it clicks - everyone’s face turned down.
Of course, they do me no favors by giving me a big history award in an Assembly. Why not paste a big target on my back? This school had multiple fights every lunch hour. And plenty of bullies. Not one of those bullies actually took into consideration the potential consequences of challenging the tallest person in the school? I was bigger than any of the gym teachers? I got a smart award, therefore I was an easy target.
Willful Whitey ignorance fueled their belief in their Superiority.
High School was Again very Jewish - back to B-. State College was Whitey - so I was on the Dean’s List, in the Honor’s Program.
Intelligence is a process. Stick a very intelligent person in a coal country and waste their mind.
The Corrupted Political and Financial World has Whitey’s, Jews, Middle Easterners, Asians, Africans. Some have risen in the Corruption because they are smarter crooks. Some have inherited their positions through families. Some have attained position by the mere advantage of the correct cultural ethnicity.
How many really smart Legislators do you hear speaking in the GOP dominated State Houses? How many formerly intelligent speaking long term Federal Congressional and Senatorial GOP remain? How do those who do sound. Intelligence is a process.
Muffle the process, kill the Intelligence.
The President can barely speak coherently since he neither reads nor listens nor debates ideas and policies. Most of the Cabinet can still form complex sentences. But will be dropped kicked out if the speak at cross purposes.
“We Christians are standing up and pushing out Zionism that’s what we’re doing. Zionism brought the slaughter of 65 million babies to America and we’re going to end it and we are going to impose Christian rule in this country. Why are you imposing Judaism on me? Because that’s exactly what’s been done in America since 1973 with Roe v Wade. Judaism was imposed on me imposed on my christian nation and we became a jewish nation that kills babies.”
I see blood liable is alive and well on the Christian Right. Truly awe inspiring thagt these people will try to claim Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib are anti-semites with guys like this in their ranks.

Two Healthcare Startups to Watch
Health VentureLab is a community of many partners – having GE Healthcare and EIT Health in the driver seat - ensuring the support in resources and expertise to make Health Venture Lab a unique Accelerator. Experienced coaches help bring out the best in the teams such as XVision and Tendertec, winners in a healthcare innovation pitch competition, Demo Day organized by Health VentureLab in Hungary.
But read more about the impressive ideas of these startups in an article which was published on GE Healthcare’s online platform for health, science and technology, “The Pulse” which recommends: Two healthcare startups to watch!

Since the X-ray was discovered in 1895, it’s become one of the most important and widely used diagnostic tools in modern medicine. But its popularity is also a problem for many radiologists. The number of medical images that radiologists must review is growing exponentially, yet many countries don’t have enough radiologists to read these images.
It’s predicted the UK will be short at least 1,600 diagnostic radiologists by 2022. This is already a problem, as nearly 97% of radiology departments can’t meet diagnostic reporting requirements, leaving patients waiting a month or more for their imaging results. The financial toll is growing, with outsourcing image reading costs doubling to $150 million in the last three years.
These numbers are alarming. But for one group of Romanian students, they were inspiring.
The four students recently developed an Artificial Intelligence(AI)-based application for X-ray called XVision, an automated X-ray analysis application that automatically detects anomalies and diseases. XVision uses AI to interpret X-ray images and indicate the possibility that an anomaly is present. Within seconds, it presents the areas of concern, complete with a list of diseases that might cause that anomaly and a heatmap that highlights potentially problematic areas.
The team recently won the “Rising Innovator” prize from EIT Health VentureLab, an accelerator program for European startups in healthcare based in Budapest, Hungary. Health VentureLab offers a 6-month acceleration program starting in April for startup companies and teams in life sciences and healthcare. It includes intensive monthly training sessions, coaching and mentorship, and a Europe-wide network within EIT Health.
XVision won the award during Demo Day, the program’s closing pitch competition that brings together 20 top teams from 14 European countries.

XVision applied for the Health VentureLab accelerator because they had the technical skills but lacked the business expertise to bring XVision to market. “We wanted to find mentorship and network that would help us with this area – and we did,” Cristian Avramescu, Technical Lead at XVision.
“Health VentureLab helped us identify new business opportunities, analyze and solve our vulnerabilities, navigate the complicated healthcare business landscape, and develop our network. All in all, they offered more than their value proposition. Taking part in the program has really helped accelerate our startup’s growth,” says Stefan Iarca, Business Manager of XVision.
That’s exactly the point of the program, says Kurt Höller, director of business creation at EIT Health.
“EIT Health, as the largest healthcare initiative in Europe, can make a difference in creating a vibrant and competitive startup ecosystem through its worldwide partnerships in healthcare,” says Kurt Höller, director of business creation at EIT Health.
Health VentureLab partners with several universities and university hospitals, as well as global industry players in medtech, biotech and digital health industry players from around the globe, including GE Healthcare.
“I am always on the lookout for fresh new talent and ideas to keep our business ahead of the curve,” says Attila Ferik, senior director of software engineering at GE Healthcare. “I am glad we have the opportunity to welcome innovative teams from all around Europe and introduce them to our industry.”

During Demo Day, another company called Tendertec won the Disruptive Product prize for its personalized safety and monitoring system for elderly people. The Wales-based company uses AI to automatically and in real-time alert caregivers in an emergency, empowering them to make data-driven decisions that improve senior care and enhance the quality of seniors’ lives.
“The biggest contribution of the Health VentureLab program to Tendertec has been through the amazing mentors we worked with. After a matchmaking process that ensured the participating companies found the best fit, we were able to choose mentors that helped us advance on multiple levels – mindset, business and product development and strategy are some of the critical areas we were able to make headway in just four months – a true acceleration process in practice,” say Dr. Afroditi Maria Konidari and Rui Zhang, Founders of Tendertec.

The 65th annual Obie Awards will be streamed on June 4th, with host irreverent and scrawny comedian Cole Escola. “I am honored the American Theatre Wing made the mistake of asking me to host the Obies,” said Escola. “I am so excited to celebrate the great work Off- and Off-Off-Broadway, and to see my name on the Obies Wikipedia page on a list of hosts that includes Elaine May and Shelley Winters.”
#Stageworthy News of the Week.
Ten weeks after the governor shut down all theaters in New York City, signs point to widespread expectation that they won’t reopen until Spring 2021.  Some of these signs are subtle, such as the announcement that, on June 7th, the night that had been reserved for the 74th Annual Tony Awards before it was canceled, the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing have decided to go ahead with an hour-long “event” – a celebration and a fundraiser – that will be streaming on TonyAwards.com and the new platform BroadwayonDemand.com  — as if to acknowledge that it is not plausible for the actual Tonys to be rescheduled in 2020.
(In other award news, the American Theatre Wing just announced that the Obie Awards will be a pre-recorded ceremony that will stream on the Wing’s YouTube channel on June 4th.)
Another sign of a delayed reopening of physical theaters in New York  is the interview that Broadway League president Charlotte St. Martin gave to The Daily Beast, declaring that her “optimistic”  date for Broadway’s reopening is January 2021 – which is four months later than the League’s latest official end-date of September 6 for the Broadway shutdown (announced earlier this month.)  And the phrasing heavily implies that the more realistic date is at least a year after the March shutdown. “We can’t socially distance the cast and crew in these 100-year-old-plus buildings,” St. Martin said. “And we can’t afford to socially distance the audience.”
This is more or less the assessment (with just a few exceptions) of the concert promoters, theater presenters, heads of orchestras and of dance companies who talked to the New York Times (The Fall of Autumn: Live Performance Producers Are Giving Up on 2020)
Online Theater IS Theater
Meanwhile, the redefining of theater is proceeding apace. Symbolic of the advances is the announcement just now that Play-Perview, a platform created during the shutdown which has been presenting original, live one-time-only readings online, will present Will Arbery’s Pulitzer finalist play “Heroes of the Fourth Turning” online June 13. And it’s not alone in suggesting what online theater can be (See reviews below, especially of “Mad Forest” and “The Sentinels.”) Just the fact that so many more theater companies are scheduling  original plays online in advance is a
Itamar Moses
sign of changing attitudes.
As playwright Itamar Moses told me earlier this week: “Sure, people are trying to figure out ways of presenting theatre, remotely, over screens right now, but it isn’t the absence of a screen that makes something theatre. “Theatre is when something is performed, in real time, for an audience that is also watching it in real time, while gathered in the same space — and all that’s really happening right now is an expansion of the definition of what we mean by ‘space’ to include virtual space….It’s our awareness of the aliveness and presence of the actors and our fellow audience members that makes something theatre and if being present together in a virtual space is the form this moment demands then we will, by necessity, develop techniques for maximizing the power of that form, maybe allowing it to become a legitimate off-shoot of theatre in its own right.”

Homebound Project 2
Mary-Louise Parker introduces us to the second edition of The Homebound Project, an hour-long online collection of 11 new short plays, by explaining that the theme this time is “sustenance,” and lists “the many ways we sustain and fortify ourselves…. shelter, our vocations, charity, activism, and also food.”
She doesn’t mention the arts.
And, honestly, this second batch of plays in the series, with just a couple of exceptions, didn’t generally provide as much sustenance for me as the first edition. In place of the first edition’s frequent sense of playfulness, as well as relatively straightforward stories of connection and longing, there are darker and less accessible works reminiscent of the spare and despairing plays of Samuel Beckett. Mad Forest
Bard’s splendidly glitchy production of “Mad Forest,” Caryl Churchill’s fascinating avant-garde drama about the 1989 Romanian Revolution, is the first live play I’ve seen since the shutdown that attempts a full staging via Zoom. Rather than just reading the stage directions, the twelve actors enact them – a mother slaps her son; friends share a piece of chocolate, and lie down together on a lawn; a couple hug one another; the members of a wedding party get into a massive group brawl — although each of the actors, all undergraduates at Bard, are performing remotely from locations across the country where they are sheltering. Presented live and free Theatre for a New Audience in collaboration with Fisher Center at Bard (with another one scheduled for Wednesday at 3), the show was a revelation, and something of a revolution itself, suggesting new paths forward for online theater.
Love Letters
Bryan Cranston and Sally Field performed live on May 21, 2020 in A.R. Gurney’s two-character play about a man and woman writing to one another over half a century, starting at the age of seven. This was the third in a series of new live-streamed productions of old plays produced by Broadway’s Best Shows.
The 1988 play seems ideal for online theater. Even when it was on Broadway — as it was twice, the last time in 2014 (my review)– there was no scenery or costumes, and the actors stayed seated at a table the whole time and read from scripts without ever looking at each other. It still managed to be terrifically entertaining and surprisingly moving.
The Sentinels
“The Sentinels,” a new 9/11 play by Matthew Lopez, was worth your time — well-acted, touching, appealing in part because of its very modesty — and it demonstrated a few things to me. A play can be well-directed, in this case by Rebecca Taichman (Tony-winner for Indecent) even when presented neck-up via Zoom.

Book Review: Playwrights on Television: Conversations with Dramatists.
Hillary Miller, an assistant professor of theater at Queens College, City University of New York, has put together 18 Q and A transcripts, arranged alphabetically, from interviews she conducted between October 2018 and April 2019. The playwrights she selected reflect “a broad definition of diversity” – including in the balance between their onstage and onscreen experiences and identity, from Madeleine George, who at the time of Miller’s interview with her in December 2018 had been a playwright for 25 years ( The Curious Case of the Watson Intelligence, Hurricane Diane), and a TV writer for ten weeks, to Tanya Saracho, showrunner for Starz TV series “Vida,” who tells Miller “ I have left the theater, consciously” (or Tanya Barfield, who tells Miller: “Maybe after my kids go to college, I’ll go back to playwriting. That’s a while off.”) Surely, a few of them would have something to say about our sudden era of online theater. In one way, then, Miller’s book is the victim of unlucky timing. But in another way, some of the issues that the author does explore are as good a prompt as any to thinking about the current crossbreeding of media and what may be in store.

Public Health Community Youth Fellowship
New Post has been published on https://www.articletec.com/public-health-community-youth-fellowship/
Public Health Community Youth Fellowship
The Open Society Foundations’ Youth Exchange, in partnership with the Public Health Program, seeks applicants for its Community Youth Fellowships. Selected fellows will receive a stipend for full-time, 18-month projects (prorated for part-time or 12-month projects).
The Community Youth Fellowships will support dynamic youth activists aged 18 to 30 who want to implement a project of their own design that acknowledges the intersection between the LGBTQIA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual) and Roma communities, and the multiple layers and forms of discrimination this community faces in healthcare settings. The projects we seek to support could focus on any area of health rights relevant to the young Roma LGBTQIA community, including sexuality, reproductive rights, disability, quality of life, and access to health care services.
Through these fellowships, the Open Society Foundations aim to provide young people at the early stage of their work with the support they need to develop great ideas that contribute to dismantle challenges in their communities and advance the values of an open society. Applicants may employ, either alone or in combination, a number of different strategies to achieve the goals and objectives of their project.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should be between 18 and 30 years of age at the start of the fellowship. Their proposed projects must focus on any area of health rights relevant to the young Roma LGBTQIA community, including sexuality, reproductive rights, disability, quality of life, access to health care services, respectful health care, consent, and stigma.
Applicants should be at an early stage of their careers and want to learn more about what it takes to be most effective as an activist in a particular place or on a particular issue. Applicants directly affected by, or with significant direct personal experience of, the challenges, policies, practices, and systems that perpetuate discrimination against members of the LGBTQIA Roma community are strongly encouraged to apply.
Effective and meaningful support will be provided to ensure the candidate is successful. This option is open to all candidates who meet the criteria regardless of support required. There are no minimum education requirements and full-time work experience is not necessary. Candidates who have not typically had access to this type of opportunity are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must be based in one of the following countries: Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, or Slovakia.
Ineligibility Criteria
Community Youth Fellowships do not fund the following:
Enrollment in an academic institution for degree or non-degree study, including dissertation research. However, candidates who apply for a part-time fellowship may continue their academic studies on their personal time.
Lobbying. Please carefully review our Tax Law Lobbying Rules before submitting an application. If awarded a fellowship, applicants must agree to refrain from engaging in restricted lobbying activities during the term of the fellowship.
Guidelines
To apply, applicants must complete the online form by January 10, 2018 (11:59 CET). Once registered, applicants will be able to proceed to the application itself, and upload the following documents:
Resume or bio: No more than two pages
Letter of intent: A single-spaced letter of intent (maximum two pages) structured according to the template you will find online. The letter of intent can be submitted instead as a video or sound recording (maximum four minutes) covering the same points in the template
Applicants can only submit a single written or recorded letter of intent for a single proposed project. Those who make multiple submissions or propose several project ideas in a single submission will not be considered.
Full proposals are accepted by invitation only.
Complete guidelines in English, Romani, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Romanian, Serbian, and Macedonian are available in the Download Files section on this page. If you have questions or experience technical difficulties with the online application form, please contact the Youth Exchange at [email protected].
Selection and Notification Cycle
Letters of intent due: January 10, 2018 (11:59 p.m. CET)
Full proposals invited: February 2018 (only those applicants who have been selected to submit a full proposal will be contacted)
Full proposals due: March 2018
Finalists selected: April 2018
Finalist interviews: April–May 2018
Selected fellows notified: May–June 2018
Projects begin: No earlier than August 2018
