Synopsis: Stuck in a safe house on a mission in the middle of nowhere on Christmas Eve, you and your alpha teammates are in dire need of some comfort.

The wind is howling outside the shabby safe house, whistling through the creaks and cracks of withered floorboards while the rain keeps pouring down in ice buckets, fat drops pounding against the leaky windows.

You fear the seemingly ancient hut might cave in like an unstable card house with each violent gust of wind.

It’s definitely not cosy and anything but how you’d imagine to spend your holidays this year, but alas – you’re in the military, freshly recruited by a secret special ops task force just a handful of weeks ago, and neither war nor terrorism take a break, so you won’t, either. And you’re still trying to proof yourself to them, to those rugged, dominant and battle-hardened alpha soldiers.

Still, you’ve been away from a proper nest for nearly a month now and it’s starting to make you terribly anxious. You cannot possibly be of any use for your assigned alphas like this, not if you can’t even take care of yourself properly, and it’s showing.

Sometimes, the novelty of this arrangement catches up to you, makes you question your whole being and purpose. Especially, when you struggle to approach certain members of the squad to even offer your help and do your job. However, Captain Price had informed you in the beginning that you’re their first assigned emotional support omega, that some of his soldiers have never even been in close proximity to one before. He never told you who, but you already have a good hunch.

You don’t want them to know about your inner turmoil, though; don’t want them to think of you as some spoiled, prissy omega when you’re definitely still a soldier, as capable of the same war atrocities as they are – even if your nature gets in the way sometimes.

So, you do what you do best, grit your teeth, keep your demeanour neutral and make your usual rounds, seeing if anyone is in need of your support, though you’re ready for their usual declination – which is something that stings even worse than your own unmet need for comfort.

Nuzzling the cold tip of your nose into the thick collar of your winter combat jacket, you peel yourself away from the raggedy cot in the guest bedroom, boot-clad feet dragging along the creaking floorboards as you square your shoulders despite your own discomfort and walk down the short hallway into the dimly lit, sparsely furnished open living room.

And your nose immediately wrinkles at the concoction of sour, agitated alpha scents, cigar smoke, gun oil and musty wood. It’s bad enough to make your eyes water, but you swiftly blink away the gloss in your eyes, determined not to let them know how bad this is.

“Gentlemen,” you speak your greeting into the room, clearing your dry throat awkwardly as you assess the situation while the men barely seem to acknowledge you.

Captain Price is standing by a cracked window, puffing on a stubby cigar while staring outside into the semi-darkness, watching the storm, his broad shoulders tense and spine rigid.

Gaz is reading a worn softback book, sitting in the corner of the shabby couch where the old standard lamp flickers every couple of seconds, his dark brows drawn together in concentration, though his eyes barely move.

Soap is slumped in the only upholstered armchair, the battered cushions looking like they’ve seen better days; long legs stretched out in front of him, his bulky arms resting on each armrest while his head is tilted back, eyes flickering behind closed eyelids.

And the Lieutenant, Ghost, is sitting at the wobbly table on an equally wobbly chair in the darkest corner of the room, sharpening and cleaning his ballistic knives, the heavy scent of restlessness accumulated in his spot, though, as usual, his expression is hidden behind his skull mask, an air of indifference carefully crafted around his self while his own nature betrays him.

Their behaviour is making your stomach twist into knots and you swallow down a soft whine as your inner omega starts trembling with anxiety.

Then, Soap speaks up, his gruff, roguish voice breaking the tense silence, “Ye busy, sweetheart?”

You blink dumbly, eyes flickering around the room, unsure if he’s truly talking to you or–

But Soap lifts his head then, a boyish grin on his lips as his bright cerulean eyes lock with your, nearly making you squeak in surprise.

“C’mere, Corporal.” He says, lifting his bare right hand and curling his index finger, beckoning you over playfully before patting his thick thighs. It’s not an order, but the sudden interaction between you and the Sergeant has the other alphas perk up one way or another.

Price glances over his shoulder, blowing out a thick plume of smoke around the cigar between his lips. Gaz looks up from the pages of his book, one eyebrow raised curiously, his warm brown eyes flickering between Price, Soap and you while Ghost stops polishing one of his knives briefly before proceeding again.

It’s the first time one of them has made the conscious decision to ask for your presence, disregarding the brief and rare sniffs all of them have taken of your comforting omega scent in between action and battles.

Almost unconsciously, you give a stiff nod before approaching him while he sits up straighter in the armchair, moving his legs and angling his knees to give you more space.

“How–uhm–How do you… want me, Sergeant?” You ask tentatively, oblivious to the double-meaning of your innocent question, struggling to keep up your professionalism as you rock back and forth on your heels, heart pounding in your throat.

Soap’s formerly tired, half-lidded eyes light up with mirth as he drinks in your uncertainty, and deep down, he feels so bad for himself for denying himself and you this comfort  that you and the rest of the squad so desperately need – all on orders from Price; the admonition from several weeks ago still ringing in the young Sergeant’s ears.

“Don’t overwhelm her, lads. She’s precious tha’ one, a bloody fine soldier, and we wanna keep her around with us.”

But the Captain forgot that this is literally your job, that this is why you’re here with them in the first place, and gods damn, Soap needs a whiff of your scent, of something else but his or his pack mates acrid stench – something more like candied apples, cinnamon and fresh wildflowers – something more like you, sweet, sweet omega.

Soap holds his right hand out to you and waits for you to reach out as well, before he grasps your smaller, cold hand swiftly, pulling you onto his lap while he keeps you steady with his left, manhandling you until you’re sitting perched up oh so prettily on his broad lap.

Your lashes flitter briskly, bright doe-eyes flickering nervously as you drink in his features this up close and Soap is preening internally at the reaction you’re showing him, so surprised and almost innocent despite your occupation.

“Ye like sitting here with me, aye, sweetheart? Not too much for ye, innit?” He queries nicely, loud enough for the others, especially Price, to hear, while the corners of his eyes crinkle with giddiness.

You scan the room discreetly, vigilant eyes moving left and right, like prey looking out for predators, unsure if this might be some kind of test perhaps, to see if you’re a good omega, able to do what you’re supposed to. Looking back into Soap’s pretty eyes, you give a slow nod, “Yes and no, sir.”

“Aye… thought so.” Soap chuckles gruffly, pulling you closer against his buff chest, eager to have your warmth and scent seep through his clothes, mark his skin and calm his restless soul.

Gaz can’t take it anymore, can’t even continue pretending to be preoccupied with this stupid book in his hands. Not when you’re sitting on Soap’s lap like that, whispering and giggling with him like you’ve never done anything else before. It had already been hard enough, acting as if you weren’t there since you joined the team, when all Gaz wants to do is bury his face in your neck, nuzzle your soft skin, cuddle you close and have your soothing purrs reverberate against his chest.

He didn’t have a chance to hear them yet, but he’s sure you would make the cutest sounds and noises.

His jaw ticks when a whiff of your saccharine scent wafts over to him while he’s still seated on the shabby couch, just a few metres away from you. Perhaps, he could just snatch you right out of Soap’s hold–

The low rumble of Price’s chiding alpha growl makes Gaz bristle, eyes widening imperceptibly as he ducks his head slightly, because how did the old geezer even sense that he was becoming jealous… and possessive.

Suddenly, Soap calls out, “Oi, Garrick? Ye want a turn?”

Gaz perks up; closing the book at once, though he looks over at the Captain for guidance and permission, because he sure as hell won’t disobey a direct order like Soap did when the latter had asked for your comfort.

Meanwhile, Price’s annoyance is still simmering below the surface, vein throbbing rhythmically in his neck as he listens and watches how the Scottish Sergeant is acting with you, all gentle and playful, practically putty in your presence.

The room reeks less of agitation and discomfort now, their aggressive alpha pheromones now dulled and whitewashed by your strong, syrupy omega scent, melodic giggles and dainty demeanour, and Price has to admit, Soap does seem to be in higher spirits now.

So, he meets Gaz’ pleading eyes with a firm nod, and watches the younger alpha scramble to his feet, opening his arms invitingly, while Price keeps his distance, chewing on the glimmering cigar stump to ease his own restlessness.

“Hand her over, MacTavish,” Gaz huffs, long fingers wiggling in anticipation, “You wanna stay with me a bit, hm, sunshine? Aye, ‘course you do–” He coos at you, leaning in a little and getting a first real nose full of your intoxicating scent at this proximity. His pupils dilate at once, making Soap chuckle as he loosens his arms around you reluctantly.

You answer with equal eagerness, eyes twinkling happily as you slip into Gaz’ strong arms, chirping, “Yes, sure!”

You end up sandwiched between Soap and Gaz on the small couch, cooped up in two different pairs of strong, bulky arms while both young alphas gush over you, courting for your attention as they nuzzle, kiss and lick your neck, your hair, any patch of exposed skin they can reach. You don’t mind them scent marking you for the first time, don’t mind the way they’re getting excited as you feel their big bulges strain against the rough fabric of their combat trousers whenever you’re switched back and forth in their embraces.

Just once do you need to correct Soap’s behaviour by pinching the nape of his neck, when he bucks his hips up against your clothed core, rubbing his growing arousal against you briefly. But Gaz chides him, too, and that’s that before you continue coddling them as much as they do you.

Ghost is usually great at blending out his surroundings while simultaneously being hyper-aware of them, but you’re slowly and surely starting to get under his scarred, pale skin, carefully chipping away at his resolve with each tentative offer of your assistance to him and his packmates, always looking mighty eager to please and serve.

Fucking hell.

It's sickening, really, how your enticing omega scent seeps even through the barrier of black cloth covering his nose.

He’s never allowed himself to smell something so sweet, let alone be in close proximity with someone like you.

When Price had submitted the application for an emotional support omega for the 141 to the brass, Ghost had nearly lost it and, in a semblance of panic, threatened with both resignation and applying to transfer to another task force, anything that would put space between himself and any omega, not trusting himself to be around something precious and fragile like that.

And then you showed up one day, pretty as a peach, ripe as one, too, and Ghost reluctantly accepted your presence with a grumble, enforcing Price’s order not to get too close to you, though, that’s easier said than done, he’d learned fairly quickly.

Now, Ghost can barely keep himself from staring at the couch, where both Soap and Gaz are seemingly having the time of their lives – basking in the attention of their own little omega. He’s never seen the two alpha Sergeant’s act so bloody… corny.

And yet, the Lieutenant can’t help and wonder how it must feel like to hold you, to feel your weight on his lap and feel your hair tickle his nose when he leans in to–

“I know what I said about her,” Price clasps his heavy hand on Ghost’s shoulder, bringing him back to reality, “– but perhaps you shouldn’t keep restraining yourself like that, Simon,” The Captain mutters, “It ain’t healthy.”

“An’ what about you, sir?” Ghost counters, not looking up as he finishes up polishing his last knife for the third time.

Price huffs in amusement, fishing another cigar from one of his breast pockets.

“Don’t ya worry about me, lad.”

When Soap pulls back from your kiss-swollen lips at once, you whine softly, chasing after his pretty mouth, already utterly spoiled bit the little bit of attention you’d gotten from the young Sergeants, until the expression on his handsome face makes you pause and snap out of your contented daze.

“Ye ready for a turn, Lt.? Think ye can handle it?” Soap snickers while Gaz scoots to the other end of the couch, clearing his throat loudly, looking at anything but the behemoth of an alpha in his black combat uniform, now standing in front of the couch.

Your eyes go comically big as you tilt your head back against Soap’s broad shoulder to gaze up at the stoic Lieutenant; the cloth of his skull mask now tucked up to the bridge of his crooked nose, revealing dirty blonde stubble and several thick silvery scars along his exposed neck and the lower half of his face while his onyx eyes stare down at you with unmatched intensity.

“I dunno, Johnny,” Ghost gruffs out, tongue darting out to lick his chapped bottom lip, “Think yer pretty bird can handle me?”

Lambda-37 / "Lel"

Prior to her current "employment"; she was a Spec Ops officer for The Foundation. But after being left for dead by her former allies; she was rescued and given a new lease of life within Operon…

Hello! You seem to know your way around re6. Just read a really sus take on Leon being a whore flirty with Helena at the start of the game. Did he actually attempt to kiss her or is it just another weird fandom interpretation in which everything Leon does is considered romantic?

i literally think people are playing the game with their eyes and ears closed cause in what world is he flirty here

to make an argument though, he is more friendly to helena than he is to claire imo. i always liked the leon x helena duo more than the leon x claire duo as he literally spent barely any time with claire in all game instances of re2- and he always ends up spending more time with ada anyways.

he's also separated a lot with ashley in re4, both of them (the remake too) so i don't really count that either.

and he spends the most time with helena as it's co-op for re6 so you have to play with helena as well. (you have a small section with leon x ada)

also?? no??? he makes no attempts to romance helena. and helena even picks up on his feelings for ada like 5 seconds after he's presented with info with ada on it.

i've heard the "you're starting to grow on me a little," be interpreted as romantic?? but like??? i always saw it as him seeing her as a younger version of him. she's like 24?? at the time, while he's 37?? (yeah she's younger than sherry) and he sees a young agent in her.

i really do think he cares more for helena though but he's quick to leave her for ada, (the part where ada is knocked down.) he does spend a large portion of the campaign saving helena's ass, and she does tell him to leave her a lot. but he cares about helena.

(First, I apologize for the delay. I lost about an hour of research time to an extremely chatty colleague -- I couldn't think of a good way to say "please stop trying to make conversation with me because I'm very invested in finding a thesis on snart for Tumblr".)

Some items from the notes

@carryonlikewedidbefore I got stuck on that same Killacky garden-path for like half an hour. "Surely," I thought, "a current PhD candidate who published an article for a popular audience about this topic is more likely than most people to have written an MA thesis about it in the past ten years." It was unusually hard to find as theses go, but I can now tell you that her MA thesis was entitled "Kingship and Warfare in Malory's Morte Darthur" -- a ctrl-F of the PDF I was able to dig up (just in case) indicates that the word "snail" appears in the document exactly zero times.

Also, everyone posting articles and saying things like "I'm not sure if this is a thesis" -- an MA thesis is going to be at least five times as long as those (assuming a longish article and a shortish thesis) and will have a cover page that unambiguously labels it as such. It'll look something like this:

The specific format varies with the idiosyncrasies of each institution, but the cover page is (as far as I've ever seen) always present, and the verbiage is pretty much identical across the English-speaking world.

The book chapter from Whose Middle Ages? is infuriatingly lax on citation, to the point that it is virtually disqualifying by the standards of any serious publication. This is deeply annoying because if they had a bibliography it would be likely to reference our snesis (snail thesis) and the issue would be solved. Of course, if they can't be bothered to write a bibliography, I don't trust that they did any in-depth research in the first place.

Results thus far from my research

Anyway. So far the closest thing I've found to a recent MA thesis on the subject is by the same author of the article I've seen a few people post already -- "'I Have The High Ground!': The Snail and Knight Motif in the Margins of Manuscripts". Her PhD dissertation, completed in 2020, isn't about snails per se, but does spend some time on them. Here's the citation for that:

Shartrand, Emily R. Sexual Warfare in the Margins of Two Late-Thirteenth-Century Franco-Flemish Arthurian Romance Manuscripts. 2020. University of Delaware, PhD dissertation.

You'd think the bibliography from this dissertation would have some breadcrumbs to follow -- if someone's spending several pages of their dissertation on a subject, it's expected that they would have located and read an MA thesis about exactly that -- but the works she cites for the snails* are the same two that you see in every other article on the matter. This would indicate that the MA thesis we're looking for came out after Shartrand had already done the research for that section, which tracks with the timeframe suggested by OP.

* Camille, Michael. Image on the Edge: The Margins of Medieval Art. Harvard University Press, 1992; Randall, Lilian M. C. “The Snail in Gothic Marginal Warfare.” Speculum vol. 37, no. 3, 1962, pp. 358-367.

This doesn't necessarily mean that 2020 is our terminus post quem -- a dissertation is a multi-year process and while it would be expected for a PhD candidate to find this kind of source if it existed when they began their dissertation, it would also not be surprising for said candidate to miss said source if it became available during their dissertation process. So we're still looking at a "past ten years" time frame depending on how long Shartrand spent dissertating. I would actually place our TPQ in 2013: Shartrand has her Curriculum Vitae publicly posted online, and she completed her MA in 2013. Had The Snesis existed in 2013, she would have almost certainly found and cited it during initial research, but if it came out after she began, it would be easy for her to miss it. Unfortunately this fails to narrow the "past ten years" time frame at all.

Now here's a wild swing I'm going to take. OP, is it possible that the document you're thinking of isn't an MA thesis, but a BA thesis? When I was trying to narrow the timeline for when the Snesis could have appeared, I (as mentioned) checked Shartrand's CV. Her BA thesis was entitled, "The Functions and Meanings of the Snail and Knight in the Margins of Manuscripts". This is outside our definitely-within-ten-years time frame (completed 2012), but it would explain why The Snesis is so difficult to find: undergraduate theses generally aren't published anywhere, because they're rarely considered a serious work of scholarship. (If someone does make a real contribution to the field in their undergraduate thesis, they usually recycle the work into some other form later in their career.) So if you wanted to get a copy of Shartrand's BA thesis and see if it's the one you're thinking of, you'd have to ask either Shartrand herself or Barnard College (the institution generally keeps BA theses on file somewhere).

I'm going to keep looking for possibilities other than Shartrand's work, but the Snesis seems elusive and I promise nothing.

Shen Wei wears a lot of cosplay looks in Guardian! Ostensibly some of them are actually different characters but...whatever. 

Look 36: Black Robe Envoy

Black Robe Envoy is always a hit at the Dragon City DixCon. This robe is very nicely constructed, with gauzey curtain things on the back and a hood that keeps its shape well.

The mask is...something he got in the paper-mache department at Michaels and painted with craft paints.  He seems proud of it.  

The mask does actually make him look different, unlike, say, Wei Wuxian’s mask which anybody can recognize him under. This mask has those cheek parts that change the overall shape of his face.  

Look 37: Gold Mask Bro

Gold Mask bro is a look that is similarly hampered by the craft-store aesthetic, but gaudier. 

Combined with the scenery-chewing villain thing, I’m always pretty eager to get this guy off of the screen. 

Look 38: Hot Bro

Once the gold mask comes off, on the other hand, Shen Wei as Ye Zun  is stunning with long grey hair.  I mean, goddamn.

The Princess Leia gown needs some help, though. This thing has a cowl neck so stiff you could bake a cake in it and there is a curtain sewn onto one half of the chest. It’s confusing.  The belt is nice, I guess. 

Masks

Important question: Why did both Ye Zun and Shen Wei buy the same paper mache mask? I mean, they chose different craft paints but both masks clearly came out of the same mold.  Ye Zun started wearing his mask specifically to avoid looking like Shen Wei, back when Shen Wei had a different mask. 

So did Shen Wei deliberately copy his brother’s mask just to fuck with him? Because that is some next-level sibling trolling right there.

Look 39: Downtown Ye Zun

Then there’s the time Ye Zun decided to cosplay as Shen Wei. It...doesn’t go well. This look fits so poorly that I refuse to post a full view of it, because Shen Wei would be embarrassed if he knew his brother was making him look like that.

This entire outfit/disguise is terrible, and fits worse than Swamp Coat 1.0. Ye Zun even knows it’s terrible because he points it out to Zhao Yunlan and asks if it looks good, as if Shen Wei ever needed to ask a thing like that.

He does his best to make up for it by serving memorable facial expressions.. Thank you, Ye Zun.

Look 40: P.I.M.P.

This completely impractical getup, OTOH, fits like a dream. I am slightly obsessed with how good Shen Wei’s Ye Zun’s his feet and ankles look in this outfit, when I normally am grumpy about baggy ankles. But these trousers are so nicely fitted that the crumpled ankle looks like a statement instead of an accident. With the frock coat and the walking stick he looks long and leggy, and if Shen Wei isn’t covered in grass stains the second he takes off his terrible cosplay hair and mask, Zhao Yunlan isn’t the man I thought he was.

Hair Lewks

Other characters also get in on the cosplay, with Da Qing looking much less ridiculous than he does in his modern-day clothes and hair. Zhao Yunlan wins Most Beautiful Hair, with metal beads and those side-bangs that frame boys’ faces so nicely.  (His post-shacking-up hair also wins most beautiful hair in the modern era).

Baby Envoy’s braids (see Look 41) make him a close second, and Hot Bro’s grey hair is a close third, but the weird locks that the Zhu Yilong brothers grow out of the sides of their faces are distracting. I get that they aren’t exactly human and that there are certain artistic conventions at play but...this is not how sideburns work.

Other Cosplayers

Other cosplayers include Tea-Party Princess, Crow Bitch, and Snake Uncle who is Never a Snake.

And here’s Old Chu cosplaying as..as...ok fine this isn’t cosplay, it’s just Old Chu flexing, sweating, and bleeding.

Look 41: Baby Envoy

The last look in this post series is Young Black Robe Envoy from the time-traveling Kunlun bit. When the mask is off, this is one of my favorite Shen Wei looks, because he is so young and vulnerable, and the robe has a nice edge detail and stamped metal accents that aren’t part of his later look. 

This would be a pretty good mage-in-light-armor getup in whichever RPG Shen Wei would play if he understood technology. He would play DA:Inquisition and he would be an elf and he would romance Dorian  OP always romances Cullen it’s a bit of a problem 

The mask is ugly craft-store nonsense, but makes a nice contrast to his sweet bare face when Zhao Yunlan yanks it off.  

Now I’m going to take a dive into into this scene, because we’ve run out of Shen Wei Lewks (*sob*), and this scene is lovely. And there really can’t be too many gifs of WeiLan eye-fucking each other Shen Wei sucking a lollipop.

In one conversation, Shen Wei falls permanently in love with Zhao Yunlan, and you can see that Zhao Yunlan really is as wonderful as Shen Wei thinks he is. He's kind and encouraging; he's confidently romantic, and he gives Shen Wei a name that has a LOT of thought behind it. 

Being as hot as a fresh pancake doesn’t hurt, either.

The high point of this interaction is probably the most sexual moment of the show, In which Zhao Yunlan teaches his true love to suck on a lollipop. The moment’s sexual energy is only partly because it suggests other activities. 

I mean...it’s definitely suggestive. 

But let’s look at what is literally, not metaphorically, happening in this moment. This is the beginning of their present-day sexual connection (within the bounds of Chinese TV, yes, yes. Het couples don’t bone on-camera in C-dramas either, so let’s assume off-camera boning when the story supports it. These two have been coded as lovers since the closing moments of Episode 14).

Zhao Yunlan puts sweetness into the mouth of this young, stressed out, serious man. Then he unabashedly, delightedly, watches Shen Wei having this new sensory experience while he *explains it* to him. 

Imagine the dopamine hit Shen Wei is experiencing here. He’s got a mouthful of sugar and he’s got Zhao Yunlan projecting waves of cheerful, undemanding lust at him while dropping bars about life and sensuality.

With a single lollipop, Zhao Yunlan uses his short time with Young Shen Wei to teach him the concept of pleasure. And takes his heart in return.

My thoughts on Dr. Stone’s S02E02 (“Hot Line”)

My thoughts after watching Season Two, Episode Two:

01. Taiju and Yuzuriha in the very first frame 😊

02. In Season One, the OP had chemistry formulas, and this season, it’s mathematical formulas! 😊

03. In the opening song, Ruri is praying for everybody to be safe, Kaseki looks solemn, Magma is smiling, and Suika is… bouncing around excitedly. I think this might be showing us just who is actually the most bloodthirsty member of the kingdom of science to date... 😆

04. Is it a good idea for Suika to be the lookout? I know the telescope has lenses, but still… Although out of main and side characters, she’s the one who’d be better off avoiding an all-out battle (though she did save everybody last season), so I guess it makes sense for her to help out this way. And she isn’t the type of person to get bored or slack off 😊

05. Kohaku makes jumping off of tree branches look so effortless 😲

06. The way Kohaku’s eyes were red as she approached Homura from behind… 😲

07. Haha! Kohaku carried hot spring water from a mountain to her village for years and years! A bit of conversation while jumping around in the forest isn’t going to exhaust her at all 😁

08. It’s nice that Kokuyou is still so active in protecting the village even though he isn’t the chief anymore 😊

21. Why did Gen stop Chrome from answering the phone? It wasn’t like Homura or Tsukasa had any way of intercepting the call?

22. Senku, Kohaku, Kinro… a nice trio 😊 Kohaku taking her turn to keep watch, while Senku and Kinro are bonding… it’s nice to see hints like this of friendships between characters 😊

23. That “sun rising over the Earth” shot reminded me of the very first Pokemon opening theme 😁 “I want to be the very best… Like no one ever was…”

24. Senku, why are you comparing Morse Code transmissions to text messages while talking to Kohaku and Kinro?? That doesn’t help make things any clearer! 😆

25. That map shows paths that aren’t straight lines. How do you even communicate paths like that in Morse Code? Degrees and steps, maybe?

26. Homura looks HORRIFIED at the thought of communications technology! (As she rightly should.)

27. Before, Tsukasa trapped Kohaku under a tree, intending to kill her… and now, Kohaku’s saving a member of the Tsukasa Empire from being trapped under a tree and being killed by the impact 😲

28. Before, Tsukasa chopped down a tree to trap Kohaku and kill her, and now, the kingdom of science chopped down a tree to trap a member of the Tsukasa Empire, and had Kohaku save her from being killed 😲

I love how Kohaku is just gloating over how they used the cell phones and how they used them to trap Homura, because one, it’s not like she gets all the scientific concepts behind it, and two, the MODERN-ERA person she’s restraining understands the concept of communications technology way more than Kohaku does 😆

44. I wish the animators had included one frame of Taiju and Yuzuriha noticing the upturned earth around the grave, or something, instead of immediately having Taiju just randomly stick his hand into the dirt and pull out the microphone.

45. One word from Senku, and Taiju started crying so hard before he could even speak… 😢

After Taiju said, “Senku!” we see Senku’s face… and there was a quick moment where his mouth twitched while the corners of his lips were still pulled downward… like a genuinely spontaneous emotional reaction to hearing from his friends again after so long… before Senku gave a big grin as a planned “cooler” reaction 😢 And even though he’s trying to act all cool and stuff, Senku’s eyes are shining with tears… 😢

47. About the ED, I was expecting modern Senku to turn into stone world Senku… I didn’t expect the green petrification light and petrified Senku, and for the buildings in the background to fall apart. Such cool details! And I loved how stone age Senku was walking at first, then running (and then running with science gear), representing the hope he has for the future! 😊 I wonder if the yellow-to-blue color transition has any symbolic meanings behind it?

48. I need to look up the meanings of the lyrics of these new season’s OP and ED so that I can understand what the songs are about. Right now, the OP sounds too chill for me to be the right OP for this season, but I like the way the ED sounds 😊 I think I’ll really like the ED’s lyrics when I learn what they are! 😁

Thought I would share some concept doodles sort of semi-brought on from some of last years Hypnovember stuff and some villainous pics of the last couple of years. In short; I have been daydreaming a story playing on some of the ideas and characters I've had laying around. Not entirely sure this would ever gain traction, but I'm at least back-burner building this universe, characters and a narrative. I'm not sure if people would want an anthropomorphic sci-fi meets dark romance story with some comedic twists... But still, its fun to build on as I ponder. :)

Sibelius’ Andante Festivo used to be one of my favorite pieces but now it is one of my most beloathed 🙊 it’s truly a pity, because it’s honestly a beautiful piece. It was the last piece I ever played with my first orchestra, which was also the first and last time I ever cried onstage.
