Me trying to figure out a possible age for Miklan/how old Matthias could have been when he had him, basing myself on Catherine's age

Technically inference technically headcanon technically big brain math but here is my updated chart on ages.

Rufus - born in 1131, inherited Itha after Lambert's coronation in 1159 (age 28), was 45 during Tragedy of Duscur in 1176, age 49 at execution (in 1180, FEW3H), age 50 at assassination (in 1181, FE3H)

Lambert - born in 1135, age 24 at coronation (1159), 27 when Dimitri was born and 41 at death in 1176

Rodrigue - born in 1138, age 21 at Glenn's birth (1159), 24~25 at Felix's birth, 47~48 at death (FE3H), 44~45 at death (if killed by Byleth in FEW3H)

Gustave - born in 1124 (canon), began serving as royal knight in 1150s (~late 20s), left to join the Knights of Seiros in 1176 (age 52)

Glenn - born in 1159, died in 1176 (age 17~18)

Matthias - born in 1133, had Miklan in 1156 (age 23), Sylvain in 1160 (age 27), committed to disowning Miklan in 1177 (age 44)

3 Hopes’ Timelines

“Timelines without a calendar system and with only occasional mentions of time passing in cutscenes? How do you figure this out?” The age sections in the profiles. Obviously. Because most players obsessively check the profiles of every character every chapter.

Be prepared for many “???” dates and honestly probably tons of typos cos numbers hard to look at.

3Hope's war generally takes around two years, placing the characters pretty close to their 3H ages by the end

The latter bounds of the dates I'm giving are from upcoming birthdays that haven’t occurred yet and in some instances of early shared events, I cross referenced other routes.

Shared events that I’m assuming have similar timeframes in all routes are; the prologue/pre-war section, the war being declared at the end of 1181 (aka March), the Empire crossing the bridge of Myrrdin, the Garreg Mach attack, Rhea fleeing to the kingdom, Lonato’s attack, Adrestia’s attack on Leicester (done by either Ferdinand or Count Bergliez) and Cornelia’s coup. Events like the Arianrhod map, Maccas pact and the TWSITD Hrym attack are out of sync.

3. Already answered number 3 but I suppose I can add one more va I liked and that’s Claude’s ( Joe Zieja ) , Edelgard’s ( Tara Platt ) , Felix and Ignatz! They all did wonderful jobs and honestly the whole cast put their best efforts into their roles! ✨

6. In 3H it’s definitely AM cuz it’s both the first one I played and the one I enjoyed the most, I liked VW too because it explored the more fantasy/history of Fódlan that was missing from AM and I have to finish my CF playthrough and eventually start on SS so I can’t quite give my opinion on those yet. Hopes wise, I have a feeling it’s still going to be AG even after playing the other two, I feel it in my nuggets.

26. My overall favorite character? Oh god why would you ask me this— jk it’s Lambert and Rodrigue, idk why , idk when and how ( it’s my daddy issues ) one of them only showed up for 30 seconds, and the other just served cunt then fucking died . But I love these two old men so damn much I’m insane. The runner ups would be Dimitri and Claude, as well as Cyril and Lysithea — they are mah babies ✨

A HC I share with a friend is that Rodrigue and his wife love each other platonically, basically platonic soulmates, cuz Rodrigue’s wife ( my friend and I named her María ) is aro/ace and her true love is the sea but expectations pulled her from it and her dream of exploring the world. They married because it was expected of them but neither really complained because there was that foundation of friendship and admiration there already. But Maria knows Rodrigue’s heart and love went to Lambert and helped support him when Lambert died ( or in my Lambert lives au, Lambert had essentially given up on love and Rodrigue had a bit of a time trying to come to terms with that )

Another HC of mine is the relationship between Lambert and Rufus, I like to believe they did get along at first but Rufus just couldn’t look past his own jealousy of his brother when he was passed over as heir and gradually their relationship soured over the years. Lambert would attempt to rebuild it but Rufus wouldn’t so the rift only just got bigger.

Final HC is that Lambert had a Major Crest of Blaiddyd, which is why he was often said to be quite powerful in his prime.

I did a lot of math and while I might be off on these speculations (it's late-ish at night and I'm tired) Glenn was about 19 at time of death. So about 5~6 years older than Felix.

Lambert was around the 37~39 ballpark in 1176. He would have been around 21~23 at time of coronation, and 25~26ish range tops when Dimitri was born. When Glenn was knighted at 15, he would have moved to Fhirdiad for service, rendering him in a position to have witnessed 9 year old Dimitri snapping a sword. That would have to be around 1171~1172, meaning that in 1176, Glenn would have been 19~20 when Dimitri was 13. (Congruent with canon where the Tragedy occurs 4 years prior to 1180, but in the Horsebow Moon, three months prior to Dimitri's 14th birthday)

Rodrigue was born in 1137, making him 38~39 at the time of the Tragedy. Lambert would have been born around the same year, give or take a year or two. Matthias is likely older. Rodrigue had Glenn when he was like 20, and then Felix at about 25~26. As for the ballpark of his birthday, I may be misremembering, but I recall seeing a theory that places the estimate around Garland Moon and Verdant Rain Moon.

As for the Gautiers - logically Miklan would be older than Glenn, maybe by about two or three years maximum. Which would make Sylvain about 15~16 in 1176, and about 16~17 in 1177 when Miklan detached from the household. So Miklan would likely have been... 21~22 when Sylvain was 15~16. About a 6 year gap, similar to that between Glenn and Felix. Miklan would have been like 8 to 9 years older than Felix, Ingrid and Dimitri. No wonder they wouldn't quite grasp how rough Miklan was being to Sylvain, especially with the latter pretending to be unbothered. Matthias really played the early game.

That means, Miklan would have died at age 25~26 in Houses, or 27~28 in Hopes. Catherine could plausibly have heard a lot about him.

Just a rough stab, but I will also place Rufus at nearing 50 at time of death in 1180 (Hopes), so he is mid 40s during the tragedy, and a solid maybe 5 or so years older than Lambert.

Gustave was born in 1124 and would have been in service as a knight to House Blaiddyd in the 1150s, which was in Lambert and co.'s teen years, we have a rough estimate of when the snowball fight story presumably takes place. Given that Gunnar wound up the chaperone, it's safe to assume he is at minimum 10 years their senior, and in his mid to late 20s at that time. Far more adult than a bunch of silly snowball teens. I'm inclined to believe it would have been their early teens, though, that Gunnar would have had to lecture their ears off for recklessness, but that they were also clearly old enough to come up with such a daring outing unsupervised to begin with.

Ingrid being Gunnar's third child is therefore also plausible, given that having ten years ahead of the trio would be time plenty to have had two sons before Ingrid.
