Hot Take:

Flamingo's apology wasn't that great.

Albert's apology is vague with what he's apologizing for. He only describes his words of racism, homophobia, and transphobia as "edgy jokes" and "behavior".

In my opinion, his apology needs to give the physical examples of the times he has made jokes about Asian people, Black people, Queer people, and Trans people —Trans women in particular— in order for it to be more believable.

I feel the need to mention that he should've put it in video format instead of just text. To me, apology videos feel more genuine then on text. There's more human connection when physically seeing the words come from someone's mouth, and you can more easily tell when someone is ingenuine or untruthful. With text, it's just text. There aren't a ton of indicators in text to tell when someone isn't being honest.

Why am I only speaking about this now?

When I first saw the apology, I was still a tween/not quite teenager. I was a huge fan of him then, so I thought his apology was fine and moved on. Now that I'm older and haven't really been interested in his channel anymore, I have less of a bias of Albert. I think it was not an ideal apology, despite what Albert's fans say.

I do not hate him or his fans, I'm just saying it could've been done better. Not as bad as say the Shane Dawson or Jake Paul apologies from a couple years ago, but it could've been formatted better.

I'm glad he attempted to take responsibility for his actions and apologize, but this does not make him a "king". He is just doing what a decent person does and owning up to his mistakes.

I know with bringing up old apologies from people I should probably just leave it in the past, but I feel the need to judge the amount of effort used in Albert's apology to understand if he's actually remorseful for what he said and did on the Albertsstuff channel.

In addition, he continuously hints at the Albertsstuff channel as a running joke on the Flamingo channel, so I don't feel the need to stay secretive about this.

That's about all I wanted to say.

To summarize, Albert should've made an apology video instead of a post on Twitter. His apology should've directly responded to, or at least mentioned, his jokes about Black people, Asian people, Queer people, and Trans people. Albert should've done an apology video instead of a post because it would feel more genuine and truthful than just text as a means of connecting with the viewer.

(Also, sorry this is out of the blue in comparison to the stuff that I post/reblog.)
