I FINALLY FINISHED READING HOMESTUCK Spoiler talk for the end :p

It took us A YEAR. We started the webcomic for the first time last january w/ our little group. Very long reading sessions some nights, but HS has a lot of words. okay. We watched every flash, played through every walkthrough and read all the dialogue options in them fully. Read all the words, skipped nothing (my friend was doing all the voices for all the characters btw) and last night we finally watched Collide, the final animation, and the final few panels. I sobbed w/ the the john and dadbert (or i guess dad crocker ? idk what we call him) hug. Genuinely I had to mute myself and sob. John has been my favorite character since the start and I was torn when his dad first died. I'm a mess over all these characters and my feelings over them, but I just have had very very strong feelings abt him and his dad and how he didn't get to see him and make up for their miscommunications. God, that panel ruined me. I also had a hard time during Collide w/ Dave having to decapitate Dirk in that moment :') because they had just met finally and had had their talks and man, that has to fuck with your brain, having to do that. Was feeling annoyed/upset about how Karkat kinda got the short end of the stick during the back end of the comic when it comes to importance and being treated like he's actually useful, until my friend pointed out that his fight w/ that little green mf (I forgot his name but it's the lucky one) still managed to eventually lose his fight w/ Karkat. Felt a little more vindicated, even if I do still feel he was otherwise a liiiittle tossed to the side w/ his stuff. We're gonna read the epilogues eventually and at least some of HS^2(?) + eventually going back in to reread HS and have us all do character voices :D exciting !!

From what I gather Matt isn’t naturally a loud person with paragraphs and paragraphs to say. He thinks a lot and says things in a very efficient so he doesn’t use so many words. I think he would absolutely love to have a yapper girlfriend that’s really engaging and asks tons of questions. He’d never have anxiety about being boring or sounding awkward because you’d carry and direct the conversation. He would worry about how to respond to statements because you’d ask him questions to direct his thoughts to.

You tend to dominate and lead group conversations. It’s easy for his voice to be overshadowed by yours so you’re always keeping an eye out for him. When you notice he’s making a face like he wants to say something you make everyone listen up. “Thank you, Baby. I wasn’t sure they heard me before.” Sometimes depending on the crowd he’ll get really anxious whisper to you his thoughts. You immediately redirect your attention and start yapping away loudly to him so the group is interested in what he has to say.

🤍 He likes watching you be outgoing

Matt doesn’t always want to be a part of conversations but he does like to watch you when you’re in your element talking up a storm and telling fun stories it’s and silly jokes. He’s happy to see you being yourself. It even turns him on a little bit. If he’s been watching you talk all night at a party he’s definitely railing you when you get home. I brought treats and we can talk shit about whoever upset my baby.” Even if you’re not actually upset you take the opportunity to talk shit anyway.

🤍 He loves getting voice memos from you

You’re his safe person and your voice is so calming to him. He’s always so excited when you’ve had a day that’s so interesting everything that happened can’t be said in a text. He listens to your messages like it’s a true crime podcast. When he misses you or if he’s on tour he goes back and listens to the messages he’s saved. Sometimes if he’s having trouble going to sleep he calls you and asks you to talk to him until he falls asleep.

🤍 You make sexy audios for him

Yes, your voice is calming but to him it’s equally as erotic. He most definitely gets bricked up to your voice. One day you send him a voice message along with a text that says “LISTEN WITH AIRPODS!” He does and it’s just you touching yourself while moaning his name. I keep a fanfiction spreadsheet, I have no shame, and I need to yap about my stats.

I spent approximately 42 hours and 4 minutes reading this month. That being said, I read 23 fics this month, 89 chapters, and 352,755 words.

My top fandom was Stranger Things (obviously) with 23 fics (I did not read for any other fandom this month. Shocking, I know) and my top ship was Steve Harrington / Eddie Munson with 18 fics. My top five reoccurring characters (according to how they were tagged) were Eddie Munson in 18 fics, Steve Harrington in 15 fics, Robin Buckley in 7 fics, Wayne in 4 fics, and Dustin Henderson in 4 fics as well.

The three tags I read the most were Bisexual Steve Harrington in 5 fics, Eddie Munson Lives in 5 fics, and Autistic Eddie Munson in 4 fics, and my top rating this month was Explicit with 9 fics.

The most words I read in a day was 50,072 on October 22nd and the longest fic I read was i can't tune you out by hairstevington at 113,115 words. October 22nd was also the day I spent the most time on AO3, according to my screen time, at 6 hours and 38 minutes.

currently thinking about Mick displaying his affection for his boys in his more feline ways, maybe even feeling more comfortable expressing his emotions this way: sitting/laying close to them and purring up a storm, rubbing his face all over their necks and chests and shoulders (wherever he can easily reach tbh) scenting them and signalling to them they're family, and almost absentmindedly licking and grooming them with his scratchy cat tongue when they're all having some downtime and relaxing

robin!! i know me and oomfie have been real active in the very small cat!mick community… while im glad there’s some here that like it (you included ofc!), i know there’s a lot of people scrolling through the mick mars tag going “what’s with all the gay cat shit??” ig it’s just me and the four ppl really into the cat!mick au agenda against the world!

that aside, i love what you said about mick only really being able to show affection through his cat instincts. like, he’s never really said “i love you” to any of them out loud, but the purring he does whenever they pet him or cuddle close to him is pretty much his way of doing so. and they all already know how much he hates people getting into his personal space but… he very easily gets in their way and just lays right on top of them in order for them to give him some affection. at first they’d be confused cause… the old man wants us to show him affection after pushing us away for like.. three years?? no way! but what they don’t realize is that it just take mick a longer time to trust people cause… idk cats (lmaooo).

also the idea of him scenting them and thus making them his family is so cute ughhhh! they obviously don’t know what’s going on, they probably wouldn’t be able to tell micks scenting them in the first place. but mick does become overly affectionate and almost treats them like they’re his children in a way. also… why can i see him trying to groom tommy, who severely does not want to be groomed. he’s squirming around, complaining about the very odd texture of his tongue and micks trying to get him to stay still. he figures they need to be cleaned either way since… the band doesn’t really take much showers.. (besides vince of course, who would have to run away from mick and his killer tongue!)

(oh btw… do you think the band would get toxicplasmosis or whatever that thing is? like they don’t actually think mick stinks… in fact he kinda smells like lavender… ofc when they ask anyone outside the band they’d find out no one else thinks mick smells all that great. he probably smells more like stinky fishy cat…)

The robin flits around Watari's head, chirping frantically. Vlam watches with the calm indifference she always has, but sticks close to the bird that she thinks is Rook. She's not sure about the poofball, though. - Rangers-rebellion

Watari tries to gently scare the bird away by waving his hand. But it seems to be entirely unafraid, even going so far as to land on his shoulder. It also seems odd that Vlam is completely unresponsive to the little bird. Wouldn’t she normally eat this little thing?

“<What is going on with this thing?>” He asks himself, poking the robin. Little Poof is yapping up a storm around his feet. He knows who that is! He can smell it!

Master master master master master master!!!!! That’s your human! The pomeranian races around his legs, trying to explain to Watari who that is! Unfortunately, Watari can’t speak dog. Or bird.

For Lack of Better Words

AN: SO I finished editing that fic! And this is so inspired by a tumblr post I saw the other day about Jason confronting Damian about his fears after the kid was prone to Scarecrow’s fear toxin. I can’t find the link, if you can, plz message me it and I’ll add it to the post. 

I was planing on having Dick do the comforting at first, but then Jason seemed more appropriate at the end of the day. Quite Damian-centric.

Summary: Damian tries to hide from his problems, but when push comes to shove, Jason will have to find a way to help his little brother.

Prompt: “I know you’re afraid but we can’t hide in the closet forever” + “Please, don’t leave.”

“Look I know I’m hypocritical, but talking might help.”

“I won’t tell them.”

Scarecrow’s fear toxin was, though admittedly ill purposed, a work of science to be admired and, well… feared. When Batman had first faced Scarecrow, it was told that the gas gave you hallucinations, visions that deeply discomforted you, to which Richard Grayson – the first Robin – knew well how it worked. Tim and Cassandra also knew, and had endured it to escape the influence of Mother. Jason had once, too, inhaled the gas, but he has grown too tough to give a crap by then.

Damian has never gotten it, despite being the youngest to ever taken the mantle of Robin. And it was good too, because it created a whole lot less problems for the Batman when Robin isn’t emotionally compromised (“Great parenting Bruce!”). Until recently, that is.

When Dick first came across it, Bruce had no idea of what to do. He was just starting out as Batman, not to mention even shorter as a guardian/parent. That alongside his emotional constipation only helped Dick so much afterwards. His little experience just wasn’t enough for the youngest, because Damian, unlike Dick, didn’t talk about it – he buried it deep, and stayed more silent than the telltale dorm mouse. Like father, like son.

It was all an accident that Robin had sniffed it. He was thrown back into a wall, air and his gas filter knocked out of his mouth and making him cough painfully whilst being prone to the toxin filled air. Less than five seconds later, Robin heard a shout from one of the other vigilante’s, which one he couldn’t remember or distinguish through the strange dizziness that was hitting him. His eyes were slightly blurry around the edge, but he could see someone approaching him. He had thought it was Red Robin, but then the red and black seem to swirl into each other, and the face he was staring at wasn’t at all Red Robin. It was contorted and stretched, like it was smashed and then twisted and skewered into the shape.

Obviously he tried to punch it in the face.

The gas filter forgotten in the moment, Robin attacked the figure, despite not knowing who or what he was fighting. He sent a flurry of punches and kicks, all of which, confusing and frustrating to him, was blocked. From the corner of his eyes more figures approach, each like the one in front of him – gruesome and malicious, with slight resemblance to his family, which enraged him to no end.

It was Red Hood that later managed to knock the boy out with the butt of his gun, and the ride home that came after was not the slightest comfortable for Robin, squirming under the seatbelt.

Alfred was absolutely frisky, sneering at everyone who walked pass, but softening immediately at the sight of the boy sleeping. The actual Alfred Pennyworth was less angry, but nonetheless cross and worried as the toxin worked its way through Damian. An irrational fear inside him reminded him of the battered body of the boy the first time he died, with the scary thought that the same boy might just drop dead after his thrashings. Alfred tucked the boy in that night, all while Damian groaned, thrashed and furrowed his brows in his sleep.

Damian woke up screaming at 2am that night, but no one ever found him was until 6am when he returned through the kitchen door, clothes drenched and feet muddy, with a few scrapes on his palm. Completely oblivious to the stares everyone gave him, Damian walked across the kitchen as if nothing has happened.

Everyone hardly saw him around since then, except during patrol. He wouldn’t come down for meals, and Alfred, ever so worried, would bring him food without request because he knew the boy probably won’t eat unless it was forced upon him. The first person ever managing to approach him was Cassandra when she snuck up on him. She tapped him on the chest, where his heart was, and gave him a hug.

“Talk to me.” If you need to, she told him.

But he was still, emotionless through the process, as if it was nothing more than a routine.

The worst part is when Tim realizes he was getting into less arguments than before – not that Red Robin wouldn’t mind his brother shutting his yap, but it seemed all too strange to not hear Damian insulting him when he slipped on the stairs or missed his coffee mug when pouring it in the morning.

“You’re avoiding us on purpose.”

“I have better things to do.”

“No, you don’t. You’re intentionally doing it. Avoiding conversations with us. You won’t even mock me anymore, Damian! That’s something wrong.”

“I realized how useless it was to scream at someone as hopeless as you.”

“Are we going to keep going in circles like this? You avoiding the issue?”

“There is no issue to talk about, Drake. Not everything is this complicated as you think it is.”

The boy stalked off then, and Tim was slightly infuriated at his attitude, but also noticed Damian never once looking at him in the eye. He would immediately stare away whenever he looked at Tim, his eyes were distant in each look, like he wasn’t even there - Tim couldn’t figure out what it was.

Jason also tried to confront the kid on the increased amount of injuries that he’s getting and the erratic behaviours that have never been seen before on the current Robin. He was jumping about, never asking for help or worse yet, getting himself into situations that he probably couldn’t get out with his life. Red Hood had to jump in at the last minute to shield the Robin from a bullet that could have been easily dodged.

“You didn’t have to take the bullet.”

“Something going on?”

“No.”

“You’re not focusing and I had to save your sorry butt. Doesn’t look like a ‘no’.”

“I was careless, and I should pay the cost for that myself. I don’t need your help, Hood!”

For a moment Red Hood was angry, until he realized the implications of those words - the kid felt that he was deserving of such a punishment. What exactly caused that thought, he did not know. Jason stared at Robin strangely, “Who are you and what have you done to the little demon?”

“Very funny, Hood,” Robin took off with his grapple, swinging off the roof with a slight limp that Jason didn’t notice until now. Jason followed suit, watching from behind as he saw Robin did a clumsy landing on the next roof, tumbling into a roll and hissed. He ran to the kid.

“Sit down.”

“What?”

“Sit down, I’m checking your injury.”

“What kind of non-sense are you-”

“The quicker I see to it, the earlier you’ll be home.”

There weren’t any blood or wounds that he could see.

“Boots off.”

“You are being such an idiot right now, Todd.”

“I could do this all day, kid,” Jason remarked.

Robin scowled at him and plopped back on the ground restraining himself from wincing. Jason cocked his head to the left, noticing the less than 2 seconds crease that appeared on Robin’s forehead caused by the slightest movement at his feet.

“Alright never mind I know what’s wrong.”

“You’re kidding me-”

Red Hood crouched in front of him, hands gesturing for something.

“What are you doing?” Robin asked skeptically.

“Get on. You’re not going swinging on anymore building until doctors say otherwise.”

Red Hood carried Robin back to the Batmobile that day, giving Batman a heads up on the boy’s situation before leaving – worried because knowing Bruce, he won’t figure out how to help the kid until it’s too late. He picked up the phone and texted Dick that night, just in case.

It was 2 days later when Jason finally came over, hearing that Dick won’t even be available until another two weeks because of a case. When he rang the doorbell, Bruce opened the door – which was an occurrence that rarely happened.

“To what do I owe the honour?”

“You look like you’re having a mid-life crisis,” Jason brushed pass him into the house.

Bruce looked at him tiredly, “Why is that?”

“The hair, the shirt,” he pointed. “I don’t know, maybe because it’s just how you always look?”

The older man absentmindedly rubbed under his eyes, “Long week.”

“Yeah, I can tell. ’m looking for Damian.”

“Figured. Just stormed upstairs.”

“'Stormed’?”

“I tried to talk to him,” Bruce reasoned and walked off, turning at the last second at the doorframe. “Didn’t work.”

Jason lightly walked upstairs and knocked on Damian’s door. Hearing no response, he tried to call for the kid. It was again that he got replied by silence, so he decided to check the kid was even there at all.

“Twerp, you in here?”

The closet door was open, inside, Jason found, was Damian, huddled in one corner, hugging his leg and completely silent. He held himself rigidly, knees pulled into his chest, hiding, in a sort of way. Jason sat down next to him, staring ahead into the wall on the other side of the room. It was two minutes later when Jason finally broke the silence.

“I know you’re afraid by we can’t hide in the closet forever,” he leaned over, rolling his feet on his heel.

No response, not even a twitch.

“Look I know I’m hypocritical, but talking might help.”

Damian looked down, eyes dripping with disappointment (in himself). His lips pressed against each other, contemplating.

“I won’t tell them.”

It was a while later that Damian finally responded, “I kept having dreams.”

“Of what?”

“You… Father. Grayson, Drake, Alfred, Cain… everyone…”

“What were we doing?”

A shiver brushed pass Damian by just the thought of it, and he winced, “You all died…”

Jason nodded, understanding. “You know I told you once that we won’t be lea-”

“I killed you,” Damian blurted out. “All of you.”

Jason stared at Damian, not with the fear that Damian had originally expected. He saw surprise, then sympathy, and then he saw disdain. He suddenly regretted telling Jason that in the first place.

“Sorry,” he said.

“No, don’t be,” Jason reached out to tap him on the shoulder, and Damian thought he saw a small moment of hesitation. He didn’t bring it up.

Jason was unable to really respond. He wanted to reach out and say ‘I know how you feel’, but that would be him lying to the kid, because he never knew how it felt to fear yourself, as Damian was. He was a child, and though as eloquent and broad as Jason’s vocabulary was, he couldn’t find fitting words to respond. Instead of offering words of comfort that he didn’t have, he got up and walked out.

Damian was frightened. He went too far, he thought to himself, he hates you, and he should. Everyone needs to stay away from you. You’re a killer, and you’ll end up killing them one day, if not by yourself, then they’ll die because of you. But despite himself, he spoke, quietly, a plea behind the closet door.

“Please, don’t leave.”

But Jason was already out the door, not even catching the last words of Damian’s plea. The boy disappointingly stared down at his socked feet, curling even more into himself. He was sorry, he was so sorry because he knew that now Jason probably hates him, and it was logical. Hell, Jason hated the Joker with his gut, what’s to say that Damian won’t be on that hate list anytime soon. Not to mention Damian’s with a history with the League of Assassins too. He knew it was better this way – if everyone hated him, then they’ll stay away, and he’ll have less of a chance of killing them. And maybe, if he hates himself enough, he might just leave them, so no one will ever die by his hands again. Better yet, if he stopped existing…

The thought pricked his heart. His eyes were burning from the amount of restrain he was doing to hold back his tears. But when he blinked the next time, the first tear flowed down his cheek. He immediately wiped it away, the words from the training in his childhood burned in his mind: Crying is weak. You aren’t allowed to be weak. Weakness will kill you, weakness will only prove to the world your incompetence.

He rested his head on his knee, faced down, hiding because he couldn’t stop the tears after the first. The images of his family dying, pale and lifeless, reemerged - it hurted to remember. It burned, and all he could think was how it much better they would be without him. Bruce would never need to care for an insolent child, Alfred never needing to clean an extra room and worry about another person, Dick never having to deal with his tantrums, Jason not needing to take another bullet for him, Tim and Cassandra peacefully getting on with their life. Everyone is better without you…

His hands clawed at his calves, holding on tightly too the fabric of his jeans, knowing at the end of the day, he’ll only be by himself, and no one will trust him enough to even-

With a thump, Jason plopped down next to Damian again. In front of them a stack of books taken from the Manor’s library.

“From my ‘favourites’ section,” he told Damian, taking the top book out of the pile.

Damian, with puffy teared eyes sniffed and glanced at the man who was already starting on the first page of Oliver Twist. He was confused to why Jason would even sit here next to a killer like himself, completely unwary. He called out, “Todd.”

“Hm?”

“Why?”

Jason put his book down from reading distance, and turned to the boy, only twelve and not even reaching puberty yet, who has seen too much, know so much, and suffered enough for a lifetime. Damian doesn’t need to be shunned. He needed guidance and help; most of all, he needed company. Just someone to be present and keep him in line, and keep him from hurting himself.

“The four things that makes up a Robin: Investigation, confidence, suffering, and family.* Remember? ,” Jason said simply, returning to his book.

Damian stared at him for a while longer, then picking up the top one on the stack. He opened the book, smiling slightly to the smell of old books and the slightly rough texture on his fingers. He was smiling with heart calmed, that maybe, things will turn out okay for him.

Alfred came upstairs with the tray of food to find Damian tucked into bed with Jason on his bedside in a chair, reading. Jason raised a finger to his lips, signaling for Alfred to be as quiet as possible. “I’ll leave this here,” Alfred placed the tray on the bedside table, turned on the yellow lamp, and left. Jason smiled gratefully and returned to his book, mouthing in silence its words.

The room was filled with only their sound breathing and the occasional shuffle of the pages.

Inktober Day2: Mythology

"We're dealing with who?!" Sawyer asked in shock, hoping it would clarify or that she heard wrong.

"Loki is responsible for all these cases" Sam spoke again, crossing his arms.

"Maybe it's just Gabriel fucking around with us like he usually does" Robin crossed her arms, shrugging slightly.

"You see that's what we thought at first but then there's been electrical and lightning storms happening frequently all over the country. Even in places where those don't happen" Dean explained.

"Thor is looking for his brother" Castiel added in with his gruff voice. "Gabriel is capable of many things but he's not strong enough for these kinds of pranks."

"So we have two Nordic gods chasing tail here on Earth, how are we suppose to stop them?" Sawyer asked, placing her hands on her hips.

"Well, it's not like we could assemble the Avengers to do that" Robin sassed, giving a deadpan.

"You know someone who can? Why don't we call them?" Cas looked at her, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"No, Cas. T-That was a reference to - nevermind" Robin shook her head, rolling her eyes.

"Once we figure this out, we'll have an Avengers binge" Sawyer suggested.

"Ok you nerds, let's go gank some gods" Dean chuckled slightly and Sam got his computer, starting his research.

"You know you can't kill them because..." Robin started to debunk what he just said but Dean sent her 'Does it look like I give a damn?' face. Robin rolled her eyes and let out a heavy sigh. "Come on, let's go figure this shit out." Sawyer stayed with Sam while Dean, Robin, and Cas went to look for the two.

"For fuck's sake Cas, get out of the way!" Robin yelled as the angel was thrown against the wall on the other side of the warehouse. They had cornered Loki but they were punked and this was just a game of marionettes and Loki was the puppeteer. Dean and Cas were being physically controlled whereas Robin for some bizarre reason, Loki couldn't get his hold on her, which fascinated him.

"Aren't you the most interesting mortal to walk the Earth?" Loki smirked, looking at her.

"I feel like you're being flirty but I'm just gonna ignore it and beat your ass because I don't give a damn" Robin sassed, pointing her gun at him and tried to shoot him. Loki kept dodging, deflecting the bullets.

"Sharp tongue, fire in her soul, quick wit" Loki listed characteristics. "No wonder my powers are useless against you. You're the perfect embodiment of mischief and deception."

"Blah, blah, blah. Stop yapping and fight" Robin rolled her eyes and threw a knife towards him, successfully pinning his arm that held his staff to the wall by the fabric of his sleeve. The golden staff fell to the floor and the strings that held Dean and Cas captive were gone and the two boys stood up. Loki tried to get it back but in a flash, another knife came at him, pinning his other arm.

"Gotcha now" Robin smirked and then lightning surrounded them, thunder shaking the ground. Glass shattering into broken shards to the ground, the power of the building sparking out, darkness engulfing them as lighting appeared. The doors burst open and someone came in, dirty blonde hair being flown back, red cape behind him, hammer in hand.

"Thor, nice of you to join the party" Loki smirked as the commotion of the god's entrance settled down.

"Loki, this has gone far enough" Thor approached him. Robin's phone started to vibrate and she stood to the side and looked at the caller ID.

"Sam, what's up?" She crossed her arm.

"Ro, did you guys find Loki?" Sam asked, his voice seemed rushed.

"Yeah, got him cornered, had a minor hiccup and then Thor decided to crash the interrogation" Robin replied. "It's all under control, just a little family drama."

"OK, good, because I read something interesting about Loki," Sam told her.

"I'm listening" Robin quirked an eyebrow.

"He has a staff right?" Sam asked. 

"Yeah, currently in my hand" Robin looked at it.

"You need to destroy it, that's the only way of stopping him and everything he's done goes back to normal" Sam explained. "All his power is from there."

"OK, but I don't think it'll break with just a chuck on the ground," Robin told him. "This is pretty heavy and pure metal. Unless Hulk decides to appear, no one here can destroy it," she sassed. "Except maybe Thor."

"Get this: Thor is the only one who can destroy it" Sam added.

"That's the best news I've heard all day - whoa!" Robin felt the staff taken from her and Thor got a hold of it.

"You cannot destroy it," he told her.

"Uh- Sam, I-I'm gonna have to call you back," she ended the call. "Why the hell not?" she looked at Thor, her hand on her hips, her eyebrows quirked in confusion.

"Whatever you mortal have read, you've been misled," he replied. "This staff belongs to Freya, with it, she could help create life or death but Loki decided to use it for his own tricks."

"And it only took them eons to finally get it back" Loki smirked smugly.

"And only to be brought down by your own creation" Thor looked at him. "Wit."

"And I'm proud" Loki set his gaze on Robin and she crossed her arm, biting her lip.

"Excuse us mortals but we must go back to Asgard and fix this mess" Thor released Loki, the knives falling to the ground and both gods left and disappeared. 

"OK, that wasn't freaky at all" Robin blinked a couple of times and picked up her knives. "Let's get out of here boys." The three headed to the Impala and Robin noticed some engraving on her knife and she read it.

"So we're having the 'Avengers Binge' as Sawyer put it?" Cas asked, pulling Robin away from her thoughts.

"Oh no," Robin shook her head, putting her knives away. "I don't want to see anything relating to Loki for a long while.

The Winners of The Europas Awards 2018 show Europe’s startup power

Yesterday The Europas, the European Tech Startup Awards and Unconference once again held its annual jamboree in London, throwing together an afternoon of deep-dive panel discussions on the hottest topics in tech, a “Pitch Roulette” session of early-stage startup pitches, and a glittering Awards ceremony, honouring the hottest startups, unicorns founders, investors and blockchain projects in the European ecosystem.

The awards are based on thousands of votes gleaned from a round of public voting, combined with industry judges drawn from founders and investors.

An annual celebration of Europe’s brightest and best tech companies, The Europas Unconference and Awards for European Tech Startups has been an established fixture on the European scene since 2009, when it was first held in a London bar. This year a block of free tickets were given away as part of “The Europas Diversity Matters Tech Pass”, to ensure that the event included more Seed or Pre-Seed-stage founders who are also women and people of colour.

Over 60 speakers were at the casual series if afternoon panel sessions, ahead of the industry Awards finale in the evening. There was also a pitch competition “Pich Roulette” where AiPod, BFF, Coinweb, PsycApps/Equoo, Frogology?, Tube Chat, Lookhealth.io, Blockchip and Loveshark pitched. PsycApps/Equoo was selected as the winner.

Over the last few weeks, startups had been able to either apply for an award or be nominated by a third-party. The winners of that round were combined with the top picks by an expert judging panel and the results combined to determine the hottest European startups across all categories. No fees were paid by entrants or winners to enter or accept the awards, marking this the only truly editorially independent tech startups awards in Europe.

The Europas is held in partnership with TechCrunch and all attendees, nominees and winners of the Europas Awards will get discounts to TechCrunch Disrupt in Berlin later this year.

The Winners of The Europas Awards 2018 show Europe’s startup power

Yesterday The Europas, the European Tech Startup Awards and Unconference once again held its annual jamboree in London, throwing together an afternoon of deep-dive panel discussions on the hottest topics in tech, a “Pitch Roulette” session of early-stage startup pitches, and a glittering Awards ceremony, honouring the hottest startups, unicorns founders, investors and blockchain projects in the European ecosystem.

The awards are based on thousands of votes gleaned from a round of public voting, combined with industry judges drawn from founders and investors.

To keep the conversations intimate and real, there was no live stream, but you can follow the coverage on Twitter here.

An annual celebration of Europe’s brightest and best tech companies, The Europas Unconference and Awards for European Tech Startups has been an established fixture on the European scene since 2009, when it was first held in a London bar. This year a block of free tickets were given away as part of “The Europas Diversity Matters Tech Pass”, to ensure that the event included more Seed or Pre-Seed-stage founders who are also women and people of colour.

Over 60 speakers were at the casual series if afternoon panel sessions, ahead of the industry Awards finale in the evening. There was also a pitch competition “Pich Roulette” where AiPod, BFF, Coinweb, PsycApps/Equoo, Frogology?, Tube Chat, Lookhealth.io, Blockchip and Loveshark pitched. PsycApps/Equoo was selected as the winner.

Over the last few weeks, startups had been able to either apply for an award or be nominated by a third-party. The winners of that round were combined with the top picks by an expert judging panel and the results combined to determine the hottest European startups across all categories. No fees were paid by entrants or winners to enter or accept the awards, marking this the only truly editorially independent tech startups awards in Europe.

The Europas is held in partnership with TechCrunch and all attendees, nominees and winners of the Europas Awards will get discounts to TechCrunch Disrupt in Berlin later this year.

AO3 Wrapped - September 2024

I keep a fanfiction spreadsheet, I have no shame, and I need to yap about my stats.

I spent approximately 53 hours and 19 minutes reading this month. That being said, I read 48 fics this month, 118 chapters, and 520,132 words.

My top fandom was Stranger Things (obviously) with 43 fics and my top ship was Steve Harrington / Eddie Munson with 34 fics, and Chrissy Cunningham following close behind with a whopping... 2. My top five reoccurring characters were Eddie Munson in 38 fics, Steve Harrington in 38 fics, Robin Buckley in 17 fics, Nancy Wheeler in 10 fics, and Dustin Henderson in 9 fics.

The three tags I read the most were Bisexual Steve Harrington in 14 fics, Hurt / Comfort in 11 fics, and Gay Eddie Munson in 10 fics, and my top rating this month was Explicit with 21 fics.

The most words I read in a day was 57,981 on September 22nd and the longest fic I read was roll the dice on my thighs by myworldoffanfiction at 63,857 words. September 22nd was also the day I spent the most time on AO3, according to my screen time, at 5 hours and 12 minutes.
