"The road simply ended. No cul-de-sac. No sign like the ones they had seen before: "Private Property. No Trespassing." Or "No Motorized Vehicles Beyond This Point." Just road...then trees."

Christian Scifi Event:
I have picked up a few books that seem to be Christian Scifi (not as easy to find as you might think, especially if you exclude Revelation Retellings (ie, Left Behind). My goal is to try to see how fast I can read through the stack:
1. Reclaiming Shiloh Snow, by Mary Webber
2. Aquifer, by Nathsn Friesen
3. The Dangerous Voyage, by Gilbert Morris
4. Anomaly, by Krista McGee
5. Haunt of Jackals, by Eric Wilson (not sure this one isn't more horror than scifi, but we'll see)
6. Replication [The Jason Experiment], by Jill Williamson (really excited for this one)
7. Auralia's Colors, by Jeffrey Overstreet (Okay, I'm pretty sure this one is fantasy, not scifi, but I was intrigued)
8. The 13th Tribe, by Robert Liparulo
9. The God Hater, by Bill Myers
10. Edge of Eternity, by Randy Alcorn (This might by more straight-up Supernatural than scifi, but I can't quite tell)

((You like the mystery genre? 👀 Can you recommend some books? I'm always on the lookout for new mystery books to read!))
((I’m the same way, Anon! I’m always on the lookout for new things to read! I’m happy to help out with this. This is one of those kinds of things I always love to help with lol.
I compiled a list with variety, so hopefully you’ll find something here that you would like. And a lot of these are the starts of series as well! I put a ** by ones that are of a series.))
The June Boys - Court Stevens
We Were Kings - Court Stevens
Thr3e - Ted Dekker
Obsessed - Ted Dekker
Stalking Jack the Ripper - Keri Maniscalo**
Magpie Murders - Anthony Horowitz**
The House of Silk - Anthony Horowitz
The Tarleton Murders - Breck England
A Study in Scarlet Women - Sherry Thomas**
The Stuff of Nightmares - James Lovegrove** (not technically but he writes a lot of books in this category)
Comes a Horseman - Robert Liparulo
Art in the Blood - Bonnie MacBird**
Vicious - V.E. Schwab** (not really a mystery but worth the read)
The Gray Man - Mark Greaney** (not really a mystery but worth the read)
Hope this helps! And this is just a fraction of my little library, so if you need more I’ll see what I can come up with.
Good luck and happy reading!!))

I have literally so many things I could/should be doing but I'm starting my read and live blog of House of Dark Shadows by Robert Liparulo (recommended by @fairytale-lights) instead because A) it's about time I got started on my list of books and B) the first thing I need to do is work on editing my book and WOW do I not want to do that

Is it weird that I like to play with my candy before I eat it? 😂😂

Book Review Template
Tumblr media
I found the template on Pinterest. I added the Kindletography to the template in the Magic Pic app on my tablet. The text was added in the Phonto app on my tablet. I've decided this is how I'm going to do book reviews for my blog.
I know it's 2024, the dates on this, say, 2023. Because that is the correct dates. 🤣 I'm currently reading book three of this series. So, I'll also be making a post for book 2 and then 3 as soon as I'm finished reading it.
I'll also be making posts for all books read after the last book review I made on this blog. 😅

House of Dark Shadows (Dreamhouse Kings series Book 1)
By Robert Liparulo
Cover: The cover is pretty cool. It definitely relates to what the story is about and has the look of a horror/thriller novel, which I think is what the author was going for with this book.
Story: ★★★ I read this story for a book club I’m doing at my local library, I probably never would have read…

Dreamhouse Kings by Robert Liparulo
Dreamhouse Kings by Robert Liparulo
“When the Kings move from L.A. to a secluded small town, fifteen-year-old Xander is beyond disappointed. He and his friends loved to create amateur films . . . but the tiny town of Pinedale is the last place a movie buff and future filmmaker wants to land. But he, David, and Toria are captivated by the many rooms in the old Victorian fixer-upper they moved into–as well as the heavy woods…
