Konark Unscripted
It was a bright and clear Saturday morning in Vizag when we headed out for a long adventurous weekend trip to Konark in Odisha. While doing a road trip from Vizag to Konark, the only safe and feasible route is the NH16. We started off from my place a bit early in the morning so as to avoid the city traffic. The route as such was very scenic with rolling coastal plains of northern AP and the hills of the eastern ghats. One big minus to a road trip from Vizag to Konark is lack of proper eateries or restaurants on the highway which did cause lots of issues especially when one is traveling with family and the ETA to your destination is about 9.5 hrs. Upon reaching Konark the first and foremost place to visit is the Sun Temple which is famous across the globe and is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage sites list.
Tumblr media
Apart from the Sun Temple there is a very beautiful beach near Konark which one must visit, i.e. the Chandrabhaga beach. The beach is full of energy at all times due to the ever present tourists and the water tides. On the way back to Vizag if possible one must make a stopover at the Chilika lake which is a brackish water lagoon and also the biggest lake in India. Most people visit the lake for the jaw dropping views and to meet and greet the Irrawaddy Dolphins. If you take a ferry trip across the lake to reach the southern bank of the lake from the northern banks while travelling by car then it would certainly turn out to be wonderful lifetime memory.

Ginger Bhubaneshwar: One of the Best Hotels in Bhubaneswar near the Railway Station
Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, is picturesque, vibrant, clean, and green, and it has a thriving cultural life. The city, which is well-known for its temples, is a key destination for travellers from all over the world. It is likely the only city that makes it possible to see the development of Hindu temple architecture in its entirety. It is the location where temple construction operations in the Odishan style flourished over a thousand-year span, from their very beginning to their complete climax. Bhubaneswar's sleek modernity and illustrious past are embodied in the city today. Drives to Puri's beaches and Jagannath Temple, a pilgrimage centre, are popular day trips from Bhubaneswar. The capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar, is renowned for its architecture and historic holy sites. Bhubaneswar is a well-known Buddhist and Hindu pilgrimage destination. It is said that the Lingaraja temple, which was built in the 10th century and is dedicated to Lord Shiva, is "the purest union of dream and reality." Artwork adorns the façade of the 55-meter-tall Lingaraja temple. The symmetry between the temple's construction and statuary is beautifully achieved. The months of October through March are the ideal times to visit Bhubaneswar. The main claim to fame of this city is that it converted King Asoka, a conquistador, into a devotee. In Bhubaneswar, King Asoka and the ruler of the Kalinga engaged in the infamous Kalinga War (Kalinga used to be the empire in Old Odisha). Asoka was horrified to see the blood that rippled like a river and was deeply touched to witness a group of monks compassionately tending to the wounded troops. Asokan illustrations continue to serve as evidence of this incident. Bhubaneswar successfully combined its intriguing past with its modern aspirations to create an essential link that unites Konark and the holy city of Puri (Jagannath Temple). This link is displayed in the Golden Triangle (Sun temple). The doppelgänger cave accumulations of Kandagiri and Udayagiri, which date to the second century BC or the old Jain abbey, are evidence of the area's age.
