Aside from RoTT & CoI being the same setting were there any other theories that stood out as being waaay out there?
There's nothing tooooo out there, aside from maybe alien theories which are fun but...
- guessing random characters who have not been confirmed either way as gods/godkin (always fun and encouraged)
- Mc Has actually been at some point... Replaced.
- some theories on who MC's mum is. :)
None have been actually too wild but all have been very interesting indeed.

anything you could share about that possible future godslayer game?
Okay Because it's not one I am actively working on right now I can only give you the basic ideas of it. And because it is only a small collection of ideas at the moment it is very bare bones at the moment. With that in mind here we go.
Basically Pyrrha's Husband has declared war on mortals because reasons (he's the God of War and Vengeance, it's kind of in the name) and a group of unlikely, or likeley, allies must form a merry band of misfits and stop him. You… are basically there to stop them from killing each other along the way.
You play as the one Normal Guy in a group of Godkin and Heroes/Villains (Might make mc less normal but that's the first idea), so perhaps a bit more hero's journey than RotT is
It's set many, many years prior to RotT
Less ROs than RotT and CoI in total but probably gives you more of a chance to get to know them
You DO get to punch a god in the face :)
Might be race-locked OR might have different backstories depending on race. Trying to determine the feasibility of that.
You might actually meet or be a Fae in this game? It might also be around the time the Deamons burst into this world from the infernal plane? First Infernal MC?
I want to get WEIRD with it. If a God comes into the physical realm instead of piloting a meat-suit what will happen in the aftermath? Who can say. Well, me, but that's for later.
#Obviously this is all for later after I get into the rest of the games#I already have some ideas for ros and side characters

One of the ROs is a child/descendent of Golding and Lysandr? 👀 👀
For reasons, none of the ros can be related to Golding, at least through being his direct child. Lysandr, however, is free of such restrictions. There was originally a planned plot threat that a third ro would be a god but I threw that away because I ultimately wouldn't be able to properly address it. So another Godkin it is.
There are other ways, however, that Golding meddles in mortal affairs.
#anonymous#rott game#golding#lysandr#okay so the gods are a complicated mess for a variety of reasons#sure the way inhabitants of aebrex understand them is in terms of parents and children#and in some cases they might fall into those dynamics for various reasons#but ultimately all the original gods sans Wykk/ren/and radhel were born from what may as well be a galactic soup#they weren't born in the traditional sense and relations between them are so /so/ complicated#but people of aebrex just arent ready for that conversation lmao#how many godkin in the cast are there? who knows#how many who are just ros? a mystery

Aren’t the Gods technically Godkin? 🤔 Also it’s Spotter I can taste it with my mind’s tongue their general ineptitude and cuteness can’t fool me
Well I mean yeah. Technically. If you really want to split hairs about it. 'Godkin' however is usually a name for the offspring of a mortal and a god, not just multiple gods. So, I guess the destinction is that the Gods are God Kin while the children of Gods and Mortals are Godkin.
I can neither confirm nor deny whether Spotter is Godkin, nor whether there is only one. Mayhaps they are, mayhaps they are not.
#lore#spotter#anonymous#also like the destinction between god and godkin can sometimes be very fragile due to a few circumstances but ahhhhh that's a lot to unpack#so i wont for the moment#also lets not talk about how the gods could technically be considered mortal soyfsuogs#Rott#rott game#regrets of the traitor game#interactive fiction

If the MCs and ROs of ROTT and COI swapped universes, what would they be and what would they do? Arke’s gotta be a werewolf, I just know it. I guess since the MCs are customizable and all, it’s more of what would their role/position in the other universe be like?
Ooh that's an interesting one... let me think this through.
CoI MC's
They'd probably be soldiers in the Xacthan army--though perhaps one of them deserts at some point.
Rott MC
Similar to mc2 in origin, the queenslayer would instead rise through the ranks of the council and find themselves in quite good standing with those most important in Ledala... whether that's a good thing or not.
RotT
Azden: Let's face it, Azden would make friends with the people up top and he would not feel bad about it.
Arke: Yeah, he'd be a werewolf. Probably one of the more troublesome ones though he'd either be in a settlement in Wasteland or an ex-militant in Ledala. Most likely the former over the latter.
Bex: Ex-military in the City. While not actually siblings with Nox in this universe, they'd basically still be siblings or have a relationship of that nature, though perhaps a slight bit more distant. In this case, Bex would probably actually have a family because he deserves it :)
Cal: She'd take Perci's role most likely, though perhaps done in a less calculated way and without all the... mitigating issues Perci finds herself with (SPOILERS!!).
Druvel: Probably some guy (tm) who works with Cal but is selling his services to the council on the side. Most likely goes through some kind of moral awakening when he sees the error of his ways. Or not. Maybe someone just makes him worse. (You could fix him, I could make him worse uwu)
Emil: Literally just a Saga replacement. Nothing changes except his parents are alive lol.
Ettia and Gwyn: Travels Wasteland helping those who need it. Sometimes hindering them... with Gwyn in the group very much hindering them. They’re two troublemakers with a good heart who everyone in Wasteland knows about and knows better to avoid.
Herron: He’d still be a doctor but whether he’d be in Wasteland or the city is... something I’m tossing up between. On one hand... traveling doctor in Wasteland... on the other... Washed up old field medic who got kicked out of the Ledala military after his morals became at odds with the Council’s and now runs a backstreet clinic where he helps people stricken by the bad side effects of the werejuice.... yeah, I think that one.
Keller: She’s a hunter but more specializes in doing things around settlements like building and collecting supplies. Probably goes out a few times in an attempt to investigate the rumours about the mountains but doesn’t get very far.
Korrin: Probably like Ettia and Gwyn in that they travel Wasteland with Micah, however, they do genuinely help people... they just don’t like staying in one spot for too long... not necessarily because they’re trying to help everyone.
Lokeira: An Assassin for the Council (not his choice) who at some point meets a stinky doctor and falls in love. They cannot be separated c:
Nox: NOT ex-military like her brother but still in the military. She technically shouldn’t talk to him (he might get her in trouble) she still does anyway.
Necrolym: A Hunter in Wasteland. He just sort of exists, spending his days doing as little as possible and being generally apathetic about his existence.
Qora: A traveling Hunter who somehow managed to tame a bear. People don’t talk to her a lot.
Severa: Ex-military. She doesn’t want to talk about it. Not about her well-off family and not about her time in the military. She now serves as a bodyguard for any who will pay.
Spotter: A street urchin from the Understreets :) probably joins up with Cal at some point.
CoI
Arthur: Ex-military in Xactha; he got injured and ended up unable to fight. Now spends his days filing paperwork for the Ferox guard as the marshal who is, perhaps, a bit too into his work.
Adrastea: Godkin for sure, of one of the love Gods, but they’d also be a noble’s kid. Which makes her the absolute most obnoxious person on the planet. They are literally the God’s gift to mankind.
Perci: Probably a mercenary, most definitely god-touched and it shows.
Saga: A noble’s kid and childhood friend of Adrastea. They kind of think Adrastea is overrated and a huge dork but no one else knows as much about her as they do so no one else would believe them. Eventually runs away to go join a merc guild.
Deimos: Mercenary, though not one who works for Shaymar like Bex, Nox and co. Some speculate he is Godkin, what with his very specialized set of skills, most don’t live to find out.
Dagda: They’d most likely be a lover of Hessia’s in the Waylands, or a noble’s secret lover. They’d have all the power they desire while also being, relatively safe. For now.
Mordred: A merc who has probably sparked up a rivalry with Deimos. Not for any good reason, just because the guy keeps taking his damn business!
Carol: Runs a tavern in Terix, secretly hosts a rebellion against the Queens but isn’t actively a member herself. Thinks that lanky elf that works for her is cute but doesn’t want to push her affections on them because, you know, she’s their boss.
Lowrie: An elf who used to be in training to become a druid but dropped out when they found out the people they looked up to weren’t who they thought they were. Now works and Carol’s tavern and hopelessly pines over their boss. Also still in a relationship with Harley.
Ridley: A wandering Scholar who may have once accidentally gotten themself on the most wanted list in Xactha. The truth, apparently, wasn’t well-received.
Harley: A backstreet healer in Terix. They trade in information, secrets, and, of course, coin, but are also kinda sassy about it. Known to frequent the tavern Carol runs, also sometimes works there.
Allard: Joined a cult once to get revenge on someone who hurt them. They’re still working on that.
Doc: The royal witch but she actually has contacts in the rebellion forming against them. She believes their child is a much better candidate for rule than their mothers are.

Will the RoTT MC’s other bio parent be important in anyway? And I have the hunch Morty would be a lot more expressive towards city MC than wasteland MC 🧐
Queenslayer's bio mother is gone (in whatever way that means) in the current timeline but she will be seen in future flashbacks and will eventually be mentioned by the god parent. She both is and isn't important in that while she won't show up suddenly in front of an adult mc, she was imperative to their being a Godkin in the first place.
As for Mordred... you may be correct ;)

If the ROTT and COI ROs were gods, what would they be the gods of? Also, would they have any funky powers/a funky appearance as a god? Excluding the ROs that are already gods 😅
Hmm okay! Excluding Ettia and Gwyn for obvious reasons. This took a while because I just wasn't sure what some would be -- I was clearly grasping at straws for some of them lmao
Nome of this makes sense :)
RotT
Ardwen: God of Revelry. He'd be the god that most often comes down to the physical plane and wreaks havoc on the populace. He'd have the most children running around and would probably have been a lover of Ren at some point. One of his powers might include mind manipulation--not outright mind control.
He probably wouldn't be much different to be honest, he's a vain ass who would think high elves are the most attractive race. He'd obviously wear more jewellery, probably have a few magical tattoos, but not much else would change.
Arke: If Pyrrha were willing to give up her late husband's role, Arke would be the the God of Vengeance and the Patron God of Farmers. Born from the Ashes of his Sibling's betrayal, he'd probably at some point end up being locked away or banished into a human shell because he wouldn't be able to get over one thing one God did millennia ago, even if that thing may have damaged him irreparably.
Appearance wise, his burn scars would change from mottled skin to charred wood and ash, crumbling away, deforming, before reforming all over again. Each moment would be painful, though whether that's the physical pain or emotional is anyone's guess. He'd probably have a sword fused into one of his burnt hands, glowing golden eyes set aflame by his thirst for revenge. He'd also probably be the brother of Golding or something. The very, very, incredibly estranged brother. Basically he’d look like a sleep paralysis demon.
Bex:I... genuinely can’t come up with something for him. Like. I tried. But I’m coming up with nothing. In no universe is he a God, he’s just too nice :) He WOULD in this universe, however, be Godkin. Nox would HATE it.
Cal: The Gods' Knight. She never leaves the astral plane except in the unlikely case of the Gods going to war on another. No, she remaims where she is needed; ever the loyal warrior to fight the enemies of her peers.
Is probably just a straight up suit of armour. Perhaps rusty, most definitely banged up, is there a person under there? Who knows.
Druvel: God of Chaos. While not an evil god, he is an unpredictable one, and thus this leads to mistrust. He doesn't really have much of a job other than sowing chaos, however he may go about it.
He'd look the same because he'd want to stand out but in like a normal way. Boring imo.
Emil: God of Birthright and Riches. Probably the son of Golding -- which would make Arke his uncle in this theoretical universe lmao -- he is a selfish God, one who believes he deserves the world and, genuinely, few actually like him. That being said, his name is often brought forth by lost heirs, illegitimate children, and families who’ve lost their riches, when in situations where they are making claims to fortunes or placements they otherwise might not be able to prove.
They say he bleeds and cries gold, a crown of only the most expensive of jewels fused perpetually to his head, melted into his flesh like a tower of horns or thorns jutting from his head. Like his father he has the power of flame, unlike his father, he is not humble. His skin, a white marble, is laced with rivers of gold folded through, and even just the end of his pinky finger is said to be worth a lifetime of riches.
Herron: God of Medicine. Some say he is a mad God who denies the very nature of the world around him, that he experiments on his flock for little more than his own satisfaction. Others, however, say he is a savior. The truth, we'll never know. Probably the brother of Adeliah.
He'd look like a rotting corpse, flesh and skin torn from his bones and yet he still walks. Half man half corpse like he is, he'd always seem to have the right remedy for any ailment. He'd leave a trail of blood in his wake.
Keller: Herald of Peace and Child of Dragons. This would probably make her Lysandr's child but the dragon connection was too good to pass up. She'd probably be, like, estranged from him however. She'd show up at the end of wars to signal the end of it; some consider her a good omen, others believe her to truly just be a herald of mass bloodshed.
She'd straight up just be a dragon. Big, big, dragon :)
Korrin: They'd be the God of Chance. Any game of luck, any 50/50 bet, any risk someone takes, and any situation that could go one way or another would be decided ahead of time by them. If we're being fancy Micah would probably work with them either as a mouthpiece or some kind of priest. Korrin would probably have close ties to Wykk either way.
Appearance-wise, they'd probably be similar to how they are now, though they'd wear more gold makeup, their fangs would be extended, their ears would be gold-tipped, and they'd have a tail.
Lokeira: Master of Shadow, Child of Wykk and Lysandr, and patron of Assassins. Much to the chagrin of Lysandr, Lokeira is a wayward child who doubtlessly ran away at first opportunity and has been moonlighting as a mere mortal ever since. Much to the amusement of Wykk, he hasn't been very good at it. He's somehow amassed a following of people very sure that he is in fact a God or at least Godkin, much to the bemusement of the child himself.
He'd have two forms, the normal every day Lokeira with perhaps a few more scars and even more of an attitude, and a tiny lil griffon because owl + dragon = griffon? Idk i just wanted someone to be a griffon :)
Necrolym: God of Dreams. It is said those who dedicate their lives to this God are given everything they’ve ever dreamed of, though perhaps more literally he is who crafts the dreaming visuals of those who slumber. From mortal to immortal, human to canine companion, it is he who creates the world we see when we sleep.
Physically it is as if he barely has a form at all, appearing more as a ghost than a real person. No, half his body is simply smoke, the other not even close to being there, and to see a figure within the smoke is said to see more than anyone else in the world has seen.
Nox: Herald of War. Some say to see her is a sign that war will soon break out. More likely is that she comes down from the heavens because Xactha and Hadaria are once again at it like cats and dogs. She just revels in the bloodshed.
She'd straight up just be her but on a horse too big for her. She'd hate it but she does have a thing for traditon; the god before her used that horse and at this point she isn't entirely sure it isn't a god itself and she isn't willing to risk the wrath of an angry god horse to find out.
Qora: Vanguard of the Forest. Similar to Pyrrha, seeing as she's her mother, though perhaps takes after Pyrrha's more wild sisters than her. Some say she was born a wild cat and stalks the forests, protecting the inhabitants from trespassers and hunters. She trusts naught but the secluded group of priests that dedicate their lives to her. In the forest, if you are one of the few she lets live after catching sight of her, it is said you are blessed by her protection for life.
She probably takes on two forms, that of a wildcat cub, said to draw hapless travelers into a false sense of security, and that of a ferocious, cat-like beast unlike any have seen before. In this form her grey fur is matted with the blood of those she's slain and consumed, vines wrapped around her lower limbs and digging into her flesh. If she has a more mortal form? Only her Mother knows.
Severa: Patron of Soldiers. Often worshipped before the eve of battle or warfare, it is said she protects all soldiers who are fearless in battle, and gives them a worthy like, and an even worthier death. She and Nox work together but they don't get along very well.
Knowing her she'd show up with a flaming sword because of course she would, it's cool. No she doesn't care if its unnecessary she's a god the laws of what is strictly appropriate don't appy to her.
Spotter: Keeper of Flame. Some say this lesser God is a creature who knows no remourse, and that they unseat Kings, Queens, and Rulers for the sake of it. Those that know them know they mean well, just that they often don't look favourably upon the rulers of the nations who claim o protect them. Which... fair enough.
Like their father, Golding, they are a being of fire, a being of fury and warmth in equal measure, and being that will hurt you just as much as they will protect you. They don't mean to, but sometimes they must.
CoI
Allard: A nameless God; A Forgotten God. This is a sorry creature, a poor creature, someone who may once have had a spark of goodness but has since abandoned such a thing. It is unneeded for what they plan. Or maybe they just need a snickers or something idk.
They'd take the form of a fox-like wraith of a creature. Horribly thin and emaciated from spendong so long locked away from others. Oh, they're charming, the creature would coax you near with promises of power, or riches, or whatever you desire, but do not trust them for they mean you harm. If they do not use you, you will end up with your throat bitten out.
Carol: God of Order. The opposite of chaos. Together, order and chaos must maintain a balance, ensuring nothing is out of whack. Mortals are inherently chaotic, nature is inherently orderly too much of one or the other and the world falls to ruin. Somehow, however, she is more liked than chaos.
Knowing her she'd look the same because she's too tired to do anything else.
Lowrie: They'd be a priest of Carol because they worship her daily :)
Mordred: A False God. Some heralded him as a saviour, he knew he was anything but. Wasn't going to stop him from reaping the benefits, however.
Werewolf god.
Ridley: A scientist is a type of god, are they not? Well, at least in the CoI universe.
Harley: They'd serve a god but I can't imagine them being a god. If they were a god they'd moonlight as a bartender and conveniently 'forget' about the fact that they have a very real important job until someone comes and grabs them.
Doc: God of Law and Lesser God of Medicine, most specifically of practical medicine involving no magic because magic is for losers. 😔 There is little use for her first job nowadays, most make their own law instead of calling upon her to judge--probably wise considering she was known for judging everyone, not just those intended to be judged.
She'd just not exist in a physical form. Bodies are useless and get sick. Also they're gross. Oh? You have a ghost healing you? Tough luck.
Arthur: God of Beasts. Or so they call him. He is an old god, perhaps one of the oldest. Perhaps that is what makes him the most frightening, especially to young godhood seeking mortals who know not what they dabble in.
Werewolf god but an actual god this time. Very scarred, a lot of matted hair, very old looking because he feels like an old man constantly
Adrastea: God of Shackles, The one who decides is best cast out, and who is best kept close. No one trusts that smarmy smile or their silken words. No one trusts the golded cages they put their marks in. Oh, but they go willingly into their claws.
To call them a spider is perhaps unkind. No, they are a scorpion.
Deimos: Hunter of Mortals. Not strictly a god but an immortal all the same. He is under the iron fist of Adrastea, acts as their hunter and their knight, but not only for them. No, for all who hold the key to his collar.
He's a boar with a missing tusk replaced by silver, a collar embedded into his neck painfully.
Saga: God of Fertility and Rebirth. They are the one hope in the world, they who may just save it. Or end it.
They'd look like an angel but like the ones with all the eyes not the pretty men. :)
Dagda: A Shackled God; A Nameless Servant God. They, like Deimos, are under a spell. Nothing can save them.
They look pathetically human. So, so, weak and flimsy, like a fly caught in a web.
Perci: Even if she could be a God she simply would not be.
#rott game#coi game#ros#if i had a nickle for every time i got this ask i'd have two nickles#which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice#none of this kakes sense but shhh

What would the characters be like if you story swapped the ROs and the MCs? Like, put the ROTT characters in the COI world and the COI characters in the ROTT world? Idk which world would be worse to live in. I would say the COI world but there seems to be something apocalyptic in the future for ROTT.
Ooh this is an interesting one! But I can neither confirm nor deny any post-apocalyptic futures for rott ;)
For starters the mc's would have vastly different roles than what they original had, their motivations are different and their life experiences would give them a completely different feel as main characters in rott vs coi.
Anyway, more under the cut but this is basically just me rambling incoherently lmao.
ROTT characters in COI
I imagine this would take place in two books; one set in Wasteland, the other set underground, or one big book.
The original group (Ardwen, Arke, Keller, Qora) probably wouldn’t be separated in this instance, instead being pulled, with mc, in opposite directions by the different factions vying for their assistance. I think in this case, the entire group would be werewolves, or were-whatever’s depending on who they are (Qora would be a werecat, fight me) as well.
The dads would also be werewolves, and would take on a more active mentor role in the story and might later either end up missing, injured, or dead, depending on the needs of the narrative.
The rebellion, or at least the characters within rott’s rebellion, would still exist and probably be more along the lines of a militia in Wasteland. They’d be the first group you meet and would probably serve as an introduction to Wasteland and the way it functions as a society. Cal would be the leader of a settlement, and the rest would be her hunters.
Ettia and Gwyn would be immortals who have either turned their back on the city in an attempt to aid those they wronged, or they’d be working against Wasteland to keep the city’s secrets. Perhaps, in their own ways, both.
The mercenaries would probably serve a similar purpose that Arthur and his agency does; ideologically they’d be against what the city is doing, and how they make immortals but they would practically work for anyone who has the coin.
Emil would take the role of a saga-like character with Necrolym as a close confidant. The cult just straight up wouldn’t exist or be integrated into the main leadership in Ledala/city of immortals with Druvel taking on a mouthpiece or public relations role and Lokeira serving a similar function to Deimos being basically hired muscle.
A lot of them would end up dying, most likely Necrolym.
COI characters in ROTT
The two Mc’s would probably know they’re Godkin by the time the story starts and would go about things differently. There would be no Queenslaying, but they might also be separated and have their own groups of intrepid adventurers to choose their ros from. They’d probably be ex-soldiers either Hadarian or Xacthan and be on the run for most of the story if the world hasn’t ended by the time the mc’s get their asses into gear.
Mordred would also be an old soldier friend and another Godkin, whereas Carol, Lowrie, Ridley, Harley, and Doc would serve a similar function to the rebellion in their own ways. Allard would be an antagonistic character the whole time, serving as a rival or a part of the cult looking to bring about the end of the Gods.
I imagine mc2 gets injured at some point and Arthur and Perci take them in and ultimately help them--provided mc helps them first with Saga’s little problem. Adrastea, Dagda, and Deimos would show up later as antagonists searching for Saga but later the group would band together despite their differences in loyalties.
Saga would probably be a runaway Hadarian heir, Deimos an old bodyguard. Adrastea, a similar function to Felicia, and Dagda maybe a minor noble. The main antagonists would probably be the rulers of Hadaria in this case as opposed to a singular cult hiding in the shadows.
None of this probably makes sense, but it was fun to write anyway haha
