2 - album of the year

emails I can't send fwd SORRY!!!! that album legitimately got me through this year it turns out what you listen to in the worst month of your life sticks with you... but the baby by samia and grace by jeff buckley and the rise and fall of a midwest princess are all runner ups...

4 - movie of the year

just did this and listed quite a few but tbh there are so many more... dick 1999 escape room 2019 slashorette party STUDENT BODIES. student bodies was so fucking good... and I did already say bottoms but FOR YOU i Will repeat bottoms was such a Moment 🫶 I had literally been waiting for it the entire year and my girlfriend havana rose liu was there and everyone was so sexy it was unreal...

5 - tv show of the year

faking it was one of the greatest parts of this year it was so fun and weird and 2014 and my best friend amy was there and the toxic homoerotic girl best friendship was insane HOWEVER. seinfeld was formative this year... truly by the end it was just like hanging out with friends everything I did I was like wow this is just like seinfeld it was so good to watch.during the especially as i.kept feeling more and more insane. Comfort television that's sort of meandering and emotionless and anti comedy <3

6 - episode of tv that defined the year for you

wow that's a deranged question ok. the first thing I can think of is yellowjackets 2.01 friends roman countrymen which was such a good brain altering episode and ofc at the time we didn't know season two was going to kind of flop so it was really exciting waiting for the next episode. but DEFINED the year. honestly maybe 7.01 of riverdale in the most bitter pessimistic way possible like it did Define The Year in that riverdale was supposed to Fix things (I know that's a stupid idea but whatever things were rough) and now only did it fail to do that it just left me confused and insulted and.more miserable than ever. yeah that's perfect actually. so much hope and optimism (february fortune cookie) Instantly dashed to create a.more depressive mood than ever. 🤸 but whatever season seven isn't real and it can't hurt me.

20 - what's something you learned this year

it's not going to get better. sorry that's horrible I'll think of something nicer to end on. I wasn't planning on this being a bummer I sort of forgot this year sucked. and I'm not saying that in an edgy way or to get attention it's purely just that sometimes things are the way they are and there's nothing you can do about it and I can't spend my whole life feeling bad about it. like my mum is so upset that cbt didn't magically cure me and it's like. this is just a thing I have to deal with forever! there's no cure! and if it ever gets better it'll be a pleasant surprise but why would I set myself up for devastation and disappointment again like I did at the beginning of this year. frankie community voice I never hope hope is pouting in advance.... anyway on a lighter note! talk to your seminar professors about your essays! it sucks but it does really make them so much better!! I got a first in a philosophy essay for the first time because of it 🫡🫡🫡 now I just have to remember to keep doing it even though it's extremely embarrassing asking your professor to do their job for some reason

So I really dig Jughead's Season 3 look with the leather Serpent's jacket on and the flannel shirt around his waist. I dressed like that in hs (but in a preppy way because my school had a "business casual" dress code) and I've always stayed fond of the look.

Season 2, episode 18, "Chapter Thirty-One: A Night to Remember". Also Season 3, episode 4, "Chapter Thirty-Nine: The Midnight Club". They're both fun and have a lot to do with Alive Cooper (don't like the character but I've had a crush on Mädchen Amick since I watched Twin Peaks as a teen sooooo ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯)

Tabitha Tate I guess? I know she's popular with the users I follow but I know some of the fandom hates her for being with Jughead and not being a white girl. Also Agent Drake. We should have had our Hannibal wannabe serial killer Betty and FBI agent gf Drake. Instead it will live only in my mind.

I have never cosplayed as a character from Riverdale, but if I did it would probably be Season 5 Jughead. I can work the sleezy writer + glasses look.

Riverdale season 4

Spoilers ahead for season 4, episode 1 of Riverdale! These teens are never like regular teens but especially now... It's way more like they're all in their 20s. It's a curious framing. Much more like Buffy in terms of amplifying adolescence and mixing it with adulthood.

I'm begging Archie to look up abolition. This show has some wild ideas about justice and retribution. And yet I'm still watching!

1) my favorite character is probably Tabitha… to me she was like… a character where it seemed like she fit into the story more naturally rather than, like, existing in the story bc plot depends on it, which made her being an angel so interesting

4) my least favorite season is season 7… i feel like the 1950s could have been half the season or a 6 episode arc like rivervale. i felt like it was ineffective to be like ‘Yeah the characters you’ve been invested in for 6 seasons are GONE!!! here’s their alternate versions from the 50s. for 20 episodes.’ in the final season. it was still fun but i liked all of the other seasons more

Like a lot of people I really enjoyed season 1, it was just the right amount of ridiculous and psycho. Season 2, good, yeah, but I stopped watching by the time the girls were cheering outside Archie's prison and didn't go back. When do you think the series went irredeemably off the rails & you stopped watching?

for me season 4 really went downhill. I loved the ships and the dynamics and blah blah but what I actually loved the show for was the mysteries. The season 4 plot was BS and pissed me off. They went for the dumbest reveals and everything they did was to make ships break up when they should have just written a better plot overall and then that could have happened organically. The killers always being connected to Betty or Jughead is so boring and repetitive. I could handle a dumbass gargoyle king plot cos the s3 finale was amazing. I can handle silly musicals but repetitive or bad. mystery reveals really ruined it for me. I survived teen dramas of CW's past I can handle ship swapping but the show is obsessed with this weird ass Archie is perfect and everything he goes through just happens to him and his choices don't account for any of it. The girls in this show are now apparently just stepping stones for him to go back and forth between, despite the original promise of the show not doing the misogynistic fighting over a loser boy thing. The cringe moments used to be comical but now it's just a cringe. I think the cast is really talented and they have to be to bring this nonsense to life. The jail singing scene was...a lot but it gave us the eternalised meme of 'you haven't experienced the epic highs and lows of football' I just feel like from someone who views tv for a narrative and good story telling..when it stopped being about that and started being oh look how silly we can be! we can change the narrative whenever we want cos it's #riverdale and continuity doesn't mean shit! lets reboot ships but also just make them do everything the same anyway etc etc. I haven't watched a full episode since 4x19 but my friends kept on past that so I've been in the know of s5-s6 and idk much about 7 other than the fact that they're doing the same they always have only they're in a time period where they're embarrassingly unequipped to tackle any of the sensitive topics they've failed to tackle in the past! I don't have anything against people who still watch. I just have a headache from learning that the show never learnt anything and is trying too hard to out weird twin peaks and it feels manufactured in the way they want to create a cult following for people 20 years from now instead of just making a good show for the people who were watching in real time. to go back to your question tho...s3 was the last good season some may even say it was before then but I can't discount s3 because I actually enjoyed parts of the stupid cult and the even stupider suicide dnd lmao

it starts out as a show about the horrors of war, Scout as the main character coming into the gravel wars as a fresh faced 20 something not at all prepped to handle getting shot at and killing people. A few early episodes are dedicated to showing off gritty "realistic" versions of the various gamemodes. There is no respawn (at least at this point) and medic is just a regular field medic with a hinted at dark past. But in true riverdale fashion the plot keeps getting weirder and weirder with highter and higher stakes. Season one ends with the reveal that spy is scouts dad, season two brings in the mvm robots to replace the faceless enemy they've been fighting and the season long side plot is about medics past as a fucked up mad scientist as he contemplates experimenting on his teammates to help them defeat the robots which are absolutely destroying them with the twist being medic meeting the devil at the end of season two.

season 3 delves more into magic, bringing in merasmus as some sort of demonic cult leader where it's revealed solider is in the cult for some reason thats never really explained. They try to reel it back in for sesaon 4 by just completely ignoring the satanic cult plot to focus on the administrator and australium, which is like. a drug allegory now. It still extends your life, but its like clear that its a shitty drug addiction metaphor now. They also throw in respawn now to bring back fan favourite characters they killed off, but it doesn't work right, subplot emesis blue type respawn malfunction deal. The show ends with Scout somehow setting up an alternate reality timeloop type deal where all his friends are alive and ok and they can go fight in the gravel war everyday, and the respawn system works, and medic has his medigun, and they're doing shit like payload or king of hill AS SEEN IN GAME. The final season is the most in character season and also implies that this is literally whats happening when you play the tf2 game.

Every character is done dirty. Medic is a daddy dom straight man, Scout isn't nearly annoying enough (and also gets pauling in an earlier season, only for the retcon last season to break them up. She never fully rebuffs scouts advances though). Demo is sidelined and treated just as a sad angry alcoholic and I feel like they remove his scottishness. Pyro is either some sort of ghost representing the horrors of war or only shown once or twice to show how war fucks up your mind or something. Solider is a great solider. Spy is actually super swauve and an actual james bond type. Heavy is just an intimidating figure with one or two moments sadly looking at an old family photo and Engineer is reduced to ONLY being scouts father figure and he's like, a normal mechanic who got his robot hand in a horrific wartime accident

I’m a hater at my core so I thought this would be an easy question to answer, but my would be answer (Riverdale) I think might be ending/have already ended. So I don’t know. I guess the new Velma show. I don’t need to watch it to know how horrifically they messed up Scooby Doo.

5: what’s your comfort show?

I have a few! Parks and Rec, Bluey, and Scrubs mainly rn. Bluey especially really does smth for my inner child I can’t explain.

39: do you prefer 22 episode seasons, or 13?

Depends. I think HBO has done a very good job with short seasons and to a lesser extent so has Netflix. However there is NO reason a sitcom that is doing numbers should have less than 20 episodes a season. I hate that new trend so much 😭😭
