The thing is that when you separate Mel from Jayce and Viktor....they finally succeed.....in getting themselves killed. 💀

They lose their brain cells around each other, she keeps them focused. I swear they impulsively leap for the first impulsive decision they can think of when they are apart. Mel has always been the steadying guiding hand. It's there when they nearly get caught breaking into Heimerdinger's office, when they nearly get shut down after Jinx breaks into their lab but she gives Jayce enough power to keep their project running saving them from falling entirely into the pocket of the government. When Jayce is worrying about Viktor, she pushes Jayce gently towards the healthy direction of being there for Viktor, talking to Viktor.

She's there when Viktor wipes the floor with Jayce after he gets back from the wild rune, and helps Jayce not to fold entirely just cause Viktor said please.

Heck, the entire of Piltover would have been taken over by Viktor faster if not for Mel.

Mel does not get enough credit for how mentally stable she makes those two and I hate it. Give that Queen her RESPECT!

As much as I like melvik and meljayvik, I cannot, in good conscience, do that to her. Jayce and Viktor are so ridiculously codependent (especially post s2) that trying to fit someone else in there would be considered a form of torture for the person involved
